This is something I have to talk about. Mr. Heck has gone above and beyond and taken consoles like the Atari 2600, NES, SNES, Genesis, N64, and even the PSOne and built handheld portable devices that run off batteries. It is pretty incredible and he even has instructions on how to do it your self. I recently came across a service that has had a lot of buzz surrounding it called Snapbomb. This is a blog marketing service that provides bloggers with content to blog about delivered directly from advertisers and the author is paid accordingly. There are several services around that offer blog advertising and this new start up looks very promising for individuals who are veterans and new to blogging. This service can offer bloggers the opportunity to blog full time and for some quit their day job. I personally am very excited about the opportunity's offered here and hope you fellow bloggers take the time to check it out. You can find the new service here at http://www.snapbomb.com.

Solar powered retro gaming device reviewed.

Remember that solar powered multimedia device from a couple blog posts ago, well looks like the guys over at Gizmodo reviewed it. It has a 3.5" screen, 64mb storage, SD card slot for additional storage, USB 2.0 connection, and the most important aspect, free emulators for the SNES, NES, GB, GBC and GBA, Sega Mega Drive, Master System, Spectrum, C64, Atari, PC Engine, MAME, MSX, Neo Geo Pocket, Game Gear and more. What! This device is like a retro gamers dream. It also has video output, homebrew games, video playback support for almost all video formats, music playback support and too many features to list. I have found a few links that should be of interest.

Official Site

Official Retailer

Emulators & Homebrew Files

Nintendo 64 games remade with HQ textures!

This is an incredible thing to someone who spent a lot of time playing N64 games growing up. Heres the deal, through the use of a N64 Emulator called Project64 you can replace existing games textures with high quality textures. This is far from being a new development but hasn't been very mainstream until recently. Here are some photos from one of my favorite N64 games Banjo-Kazooie.
