There is a cool story on Engadget about a Portable media device that plays music, movies, ebooks, photos, retro games and more. It has 4GB of internal memory, a miniSD slot for extra space, a 2.8 QVGA LCD, and TV out support. Pretty impressive for $87.31. I think I might get one of these. The wonderful blog Engadget has a cool story about an artist who made a SNES complete with controllers and games out of paper and he put up a template so that anyone with time to spare can make there own. Very cool and creative, you can check the story and the template out here.

I have seen many stories about Mr. Ben Heck for a long time now but somehow forgot. This is something I have to talk about. Mr. Heck has gone above and beyond and taken consoles like the Atari 2600, NES, SNES, Genesis, N64, and even the PSOne and built handheld portable devices that run off batteries. What is Snapbomb?

Well this is unrelated to retrogaming but related to blogging in general. I recently came across a service that has had a lot of buzz surrounding it called Snapbomb. This is a blog marketing service that provides bloggers with content to blog about delivered directly from advertisers and the author is paid accordingly. There are several services around that offer blog advertising and this new start up looks very promising for individuals who are veterans and new to blogging. I was surfing the net and came across a great review of the GP2X not to be confused with the GP2X F200 update which has a touchscreen and d-pad. The reviewer gives a detailed rundown of all its current features which with the large community surrounding it are quickly increasing. Check out the review here.

Nintendo 64 games remade with HQ textures!

This is an incredible thing to someone who spent a lot of time playing N64 games growing up. Heres the deal, through the use of a N64 Emulator called Project64 you can replace existing games textures with high quality textures. This is far from being a new development but hasn't been very mainstream until recently. Here are some photos from one of my favorite N64 games Banjo-Kazooie. I came across this neat little device surfing the net and it seems pretty cool. It has 2GB of internal space and can play several music formats (.mp3, .wma, etc.), movie formats (.avi, .mp4, etc.) and most importantly retro games. It claims to be able to play Gameboy, Gameboy Color and NES games. On top of that it can recharge with solar power. This little device has more features you can check out here.

Hey, my first blog post cool! ehh...hmmm...My goal with this blog is to post news, links, my thoughts, and possibly some reviews of things that interest me and hopefully you in the retro gaming scene. What I consider retro gaming consoles will be pretty much anything that is no longer mainstream.
