Bringing Up Baby is a 1938 comedy starring Katharine Hepburn and Cary Grant, and released by RKO Radio Pictures. This clip features David Huxley (Grant) and Susan Vance (Hepburn) in a crowded ballroom. As they argue, she inadvertently rips his tuxedo coattails. He gets angry and asks her to leave unaware that he is standing on the hem of her dress. As she angrily storms off, her dress is ripped. Huxley follows her and attempts to cover her backside with his top hat and then his hands. When she discovers that her dress has torn, she asks for his help.

Somewhere in Dreamland is a 1936 animated short and is part of Max Fleischer's Color Classics series. The story opens with a brother and sister bringing firewood home to their poor mother. Along the way home, they admire goodies displayed in a bakery window. Once they get home, their mother feeds them pieces of dried bread and water for supper and sends them to bed. Later that night, the children dream of a land filled with ice cream cones, popcorn fields, toys, and nice comfortable beds. They wake up the next morning to find a feast on the table and toys around the house brought to their house by three of the merchants they passed on their way home the night before.

This classic commercial spot for L'eggs aired in 1972 and features the famous jingle "Our L'eggs fit your legs, they hug you, they hold you, they never let you go.". The jingle was written by Thomas Dawes, a rock musician and composer who wrote music for some of advertising’s best-known commercial jingles. I can remember going shopping with my mom and seeing the L'eggs circular display in the store with the big white plastic egg containers.

"Interjections!" was an animated short in the Schoolhouse Rock! series which aired Saturday mornings on ABC TV. I loved watching these short films which were designed to make learning fun. The lyrics were catchy such as this one from "Interjections!":

In this classic Bayer Aspirin commercial, two ladies discuss the many "pain reliever claims" of the day such as "I have extra ingredients" and "I'm 50 percent stronger". One of them then notes an article in the American Medical Association that states Bayer Aspirin was just as strong and as other pain relievers and was also gentle on the stomach. It ends with the tagline "Bayer Aspirin is unbeatable. Try it and see."

Boo Moon is a classic 1950s animation short featuring Casper the Friendly Ghost. It begins with Casper emerging from a subway station following a crowd of scared strangers. He finds a man offering a look at the moon through a telescope and approaches him but scares him away. Casper looks through the telescope and sees the smiling man on the moon and decides to go there for a visit. Boo Moon is a theatrical cartoon short that was released on January 1, 1954 in 3D format as a Stereotoon. It was produced by Famous Studios for the Casper the Friendly Ghost series and distributed by Paramount Pictures.

This classic Soundie dates back to 1941 and features the Count Basie Orchestra performing “Take Me Back Baby” with Jimmy Rushing doing the vocal. In the clip, Rushing plays a sax player who falls asleep on the bandstand and dreams he is singing the blues to his gal. 'Soundies' were an early version of the music video, displayed on a Panoram (a coin-operated film jukebox) in nightclubs, bars, restaurants, factory lounges and amusement centers during the early-mid 1940s.

This vintage theatrical commercial announces an upcoming "Meet Gene Autry" contest that was shown in theaters in 1946. The winner would get to meet Gene Autry in person, have lunch with him, get a personalized autographed photo, and attend the rodeo at Madison Square Garden as his guest. The World's Championship Rodeo was scheduled from October 8th to October 26th. This is a wonderful vintage clip and most certainly an exciting contest for all of the kids.

Movie trailer for the 1946 film The Hoodlum Saint starring William Powell, Esther Williams and Angela Lansbury. The movie follows a former reporter who comes back home after serving in the army during World War I and finds that it's much more difficult to find work than he expected. Desperate, one day he crashes a wedding attended by many of the city's rich and powerful, meets a beautiful girl named Kay who turns out to be his ticket to meeting those rich and powerful people, and he soon manages to land a job on a newspaper. After getting caught up in the "make money at all costs" game, he receives a rude awakening when the stock market crashes in 1929. This film was released on April 4, 1946.

Hoi Polloi is the tenth short film starring The Three Stooges. It tells the story of a professor who bets that he can turn the stooges into gentlemen. After many attempts to teach them etiquette, he brings them to a fancy society party. This short was released on August 29, 1935.
