Woman Dies of Allergic Reaction to the Dog She Had Sex With

2011-07-11T18:32:00.000-07:00

After reading this weird news story, you will never have to read another weird news story ever again. It has everything: an insane premise, crazy people, crushing irony, sex, crime, and sex crime.

It seems an Irish woman died after an allergic reaction to a dog—a dog she had sex with. Yes. Really.
From Ireland, the land of geniuses like James Joyce, Oscar Wilde, and Bono, comes this story of a 43-year-old woman who encountered a man in a bestiality chat room and then met him at his house in Limerick. She had sex with his Alsatian dog and then had a severe allergic reaction shortly afterwards, possibly from the dog's semen. She later died at the hospital.

The incident apparently took place in 2008, but medical experts just confirmed the cause of death, because the case is finally making its way to court, not because it took them this long to get over the shock of how she died. The dog owner, Sean McDonnell, is charged with "buggery" for ordering the dog to commit the act. Buggery is apparently still a crime on the books in Ireland, so thank God for that. McDonnell is thought to be the first person charged with it since it was enacted in 1861.
So, next time you hear about a man biting a dog or a delivery driver run over by his own truck, just remember this story and remind yourself it's best to stay away from the weird news.

Chris Hansen, 'To Catch a Predator' Host, Caught Cheating by Hidden Cameras

2011-06-30T08:09:00.000-07:00

Oh, the irony ... It's been reported that Chris Hansen, host of 'To Catch a Predator,' the controversial 'Dateline' show that uses hidden cameras to trap would-be perverts in sting operations, has been caught cheating on his wife ... in a sting operation using hidden cameras.

According to 'The Daily Mail' Hansen found himself on the receiving end of his own hidden camera tactics after the married NBC anchor was secretly filmed on an illicit date with a blonde television reporter 20 years his junior.

He was the subject of a four-month long sting operation conducted by 'The National Enquirer' after he allegedly began an affair with former NBC intern Kristyn Caddell, a 30-year-old Florida journalist.

The Connecticut-based Hansen has been spending more time in South Florida recently for work, reportedly investigating the disappearance of James "Jimmy T" Trindade for 'Dateline.'

17-Year-Old Sells His Kidney For iPad 2

2011-06-03T01:53:00.000-07:00

Apple lovers are known for their somewhat radical devotion to any new products the company introduces, but selling body parts to afford them is definitely something new — and scary. According to Global Times, a youngster in China's Anhui province wanted a new iPad 2 tablet so badly he was willing to part with a kidney to be able to afford it.

The student, a 17-year-old high school student named Zheng, told a local newspaper "I wanted to buy an iPad 2 but could not afford it. A broker contacted me on the Internet and said he could help me sell one kidney for 20,000 yuan." The "broker" was true to his word, and after the operation was completed on April 28, Zheng received his 20,000 yuan, which equates to a little over $3,000.

The young organ donor carried out these plans without the knowledge of his mother, who was surprised to see her son awash in new, expensive electronics. After discovering what Zheng had done, she promptly alerted authorities, who have been attempting to track down the buyers ever since.

Couple Hallucinating On Bath Salts Reports Abduction, Rape

2011-05-31T01:10:00.000-07:00

A legal way of getting high caused a Zanesville couple to hallucinate an abduction and rape, which they reported to police this past week in one of the county's first reports of bath salt intoxication.

Ohio lawmakers are attempting to join at least 10 other states in banning the substance, which is marketed as a "bath salt" but has a different chemical composition than the aromatic salts meant to be poured into the tub. Poison centers in Columbus, Cincinnati and Cleveland reported four cases in 2010, but that has jumped to 170 cases in 2011.

Two Zanesville residents were transported to Good Samaritan Hospital this past week after they told police officers they had been ingesting the substance for several days.

Officers were called to a home in the 900 block of Sharon Avenue early Wednesday morning in reference to a woman being abducted. However, when they arrived they found a 36-year-old man half-clothed and holding a hatchet in the front yard and the woman underneath the floor of the home trying to claw her way out.

Officer Travis Groves stated in his report that the man was agitated and scared. The man told officers someone was underneath the floor of his home with his girlfriend, possibly raping her.

Officers entered the home and saw two hands sticking out of holes in the living room floor and heard the woman screaming for help.

At first, officers thought a home invasion might have occurred since the home appeared to be ransacked.

But once they got to the basement to help the 23-year-old woman, they found out an entirely different story.

The woman had become lodged in the crawl space of the home, Groves stated, and was wearing very little clothing.

When asked why she was in the crawlspace, the woman said she chased another woman into the basement and the woman was able to elude her by climbing out a trapdoor in the closet.

When officers checked the closet, they found tool boxes on top of the door accessing the basement. Officers called emergency medical personnel to check the couple.

The man outside the house told officers they needed to search the area because he had heard people on the roof and he thought they were going to abduct his girlfriend.

Officers then discovered the couple had taken a 3-month-old baby to a neighbor's home just before police arrived. The officers had the couple and the baby taken to the hospital to be examined.

At the hospital, the man told officers the couple bought bath salts at the convenience store and had been ingesting them for two days. He put the salts in warm water and drank the concoction, while the woman put the salts under her tongue. The man said the bath salts gave him the same affect as Viagra.

He also told officers while his girlfriend was under the floor, he thought someone was trying to rape her and he took a circular saw and attempted to cut her out of the floor. Failing to do that, he then took a hatchet and tried to punch holes in the floor.

Muskingum County Children's Services now has custody of the infant, and the couple has been charged with child endangerment.

Man Arrested After Getting High on Bath Salts And Killing Neighbor’s Goat While Wearing Women’s Underwear

2011-05-03T14:07:00.000-07:00

Sunday night, while the rest of us were watching the bin Laden news, a West Virginia man killed his neighbor’s pet goat while he was high on bath salts. What makes this even more absurd? When police came to find him they found him in women’s underwear in the same room as the dead animal.

Mark Thompson, 19, of Alum Creek, West Virginia, was arrested after killing his neighbor’s pygmy goat. The goat had been a present from Lisa Powers to her 4-year-old grandson.

Powers and her nephew, Joshua Pollis, got a call saying that the goat had been seen wandering around Thompson’s house and that they should go and retrieve it. The two of them walked into Thompson’s house looking for the goat. The pair had made their way to Thompson’s bedroom door when he heard them yell from inside.

“He told them, ‘Don’t come in, I’m naked,’” Powers said, according to the Charleston Gazette. “But they opened the door and he was standing there with his pants down. He had on women’s clothing and the goat was dead and there was blood everywhere. It was just a scene.”

It sounds like something you would see in a low budget horror movie. Thompson went running out of the house, and Polis and Powers called the police.

The police promptly got a search warrant for the house and found Thompson several hours later after searching the woods for him. He told police that he had been high on bath salts for three days.
Police found the dead goat in the house with several stab wounds. There were pornographic pictures sitting a few feet away; however, there wasn’t any sign that there was any kind of sexual violation that went on with the animal. At least that’s a silver lining to this?

This isn’t the first time Powers and her family have had a strange run in with Thompson, who they’ve lived next to for three years. About a year ago they took him to church — he promptly stole a bottle of communion wine and ran out through a downstairs door.
According to Powers, Thompson also has a habit of running through the woods behind their houses while screaming and hitting things.

Thompson has been taken into custody by Adult Protective services and his mental state is currently being evaluated, though we’re pretty sure what the conclusion will be on that one.

Limp Bizkit Led To Fatal Fight, Court Told

2011-04-28T02:48:00.000-07:00

A Sunshine Coast man was bashed to death, put in a shopping trolley and dumped in a creek following a drunken fight over music selection, a court has heard.
The court was told Emmanuel McPherson, 48, objected when his flatmate, James Albert Madden, played a Limp Bizkit album on Mr McPherson's stereo.
A fight then broke out, in which Mr Madden allegedly beat Mr McPherson to death.
Mr Madden, 24, is on trial for Mr McPherson's murder. He pleads not guilty to the charge.
The two men and two women, Kila Jones and Lee Jolae, had been drinking at a unit they shared on Reilly Road at Nambour on May 25, 2009 when the violence broke out.
The dispute reportedly began when Mr McPherson told Mr Madden not to touch his stereo and told him to turn the CD off.

A Brisbane Supreme Court jury was told Mr Madden hit Mr McPherson about the head with an alcohol bottle, punched him and stomped on his face as he lay on the floor.
Mr Madden and Ms Jolae then bundled Mr McPherson in a sheet and doona before he was carried outside and placed in a shopping trolley.

Crown prosecutor Greg Cummings said Ms Jones and Mr Madden wheeled their friend down the street and tipped his body into a creek bed.
He was found the next morning and although Mr Madden initially denied any involvement in the death of his "bro", he was charged with Mr McPherson's murder.
Mr Cummings said the jury would hear a confession he made to a man Mr Madden believed was a fellow cellmate, but was in fact an undercover police officer who had recorded four hours of conversations he had with Mr Madden in a jail cell.

The jury will hear the officer ask Mr Madden if he was going to be released. He replied: "No. I've murdered a man. Killed him a couple of days ago."
Both Ms Jones and Ms Jolae had given statements to police about the violence they say they saw Mr Madden inflict on Mr McPherson on the day of his death. The two women will give evidence at the trial.

Mr McPherson died from blunt force trauma to his head.

Woman Drowns Cat To Wear Its Blood To Lady Gaga Concert

2011-04-16T03:40:00.000-07:00

Lady Gaga does a lot of shocking things; but apparently, that’s nothing compared to what one of her fans was willing to do to have the perfect outfit for her concert. Wednesday, NBC’s Oklahoma City affiliate, NewsChannel 4, reported one “little monster” (as Gaga has dubbed her fans) took it to the extreme.
Angelina Barnes, 20, was charged for animal cruelty after reportedly mutilating her family’s 15-year-old tabby cat in order to wear it to a Lady Gaga concert.
The disturbing act was discovered when a family member returned home to find Barnes dressed in a long coat with streaks of the cat’s blood on her face.

“There were things done to the house like covering light switches with duct tape so she wouldn’t be able to turn on the light,” Oklahoma City Msgt. Gary Knight told NewsChannel 4. “[Barnes’ relative] became very afraid that the suspect was going to try to do harm to her.”
According to the report, investigators found purple hair dye inside a bathroom covered with the cat’s blood. The cat had been drowned, its liver residing in a makeup case on the counter, while it’s eyes had been disfigured and it’s belly sliced down the center.

Eggs Boiled In Children’s Urine Anyone?

2011-03-14T12:52:00.000-07:00

Just when you thought you have heard it all, China serves you with a new one. This time served fresh as hard boiled eggs from children’s urine. In the province of Zhejiang in China, urine boiled eggs is a delicacy and locals can’t get enough of them.

The eggs are soaked and boiled in prepubescent boy’s urine. Vendors collect the urine from local schools everyday according to chef Lu Ming, the younger the boys, the better their urine. “The urine is gathered from local schools and the very best comes from boys under 10 years old,”

Then the eggs – which have official cultural significance status – are boiled in the urine, first with their shells on and then with them off for a day and a night. The process takes about a day to complete before they can be served ‘fresh’ and sell for 1.50 Yuan or about 23 cents.

The eggs known as Tong Zi Dan (Boy Egg) have been a treat in parts of China for hundreds of years and if Chinese culture officials have their way, we could be seeing these available around the world. “We are having a big export push because we want people outside China to fully appreciate the delicacy of our cuisine,” according to Chef Lu Ming in an article from the Qianjiang Evening Post. However not everyone is a big fan of these ‘boy eggs’. Mr. Li who was quoted in the article said, “The smell kills me. I feel like throwing up at the thought of it."

Man Gets 82 Julia Roberts Tattoos

2011-03-11T14:11:00.000-08:00

Some people are diehard Julia Roberts fans and some people are obsessed with getting tattoos.

Miljenko Parserisas Bukovic is perhaps one of the very few who fall into both categories — but he's found a way to combine both passions.

The 56-year-old Chilean man is so fond of the Hollywood actress that he has tattooed 82 different portraits of the her onto his chest, back and arms, Reuters reported.

Mr Bukovic has spent 10 years and about a million pesos (A$2000) getting the tattoos, all inspired by scenes from Roberts' role in the film Erin Brockovich.

The newspaper seller said he will get more tattoos of the 43-year-old actress provided he has money and space on his body to do so.

Roberts won an Academy Award for her role in Erin Brockovich, which was released in 2000.

In the Steven Soderbergh film, Roberts plays a single mother who takes on a polluting energy company.
