Badoo

2011-03-31T13:05:00.003+05:30

Image via CrunchBaseBadoo is a social networking site of interest, which unfortunately has made us feel very uncomfortable. Badoo is like a space, online dating and picture rating site disguised as a social network chat.

Although users and 18 years forced the page has been focusing too much on chatting with strangers and not on building your personal network of friends. When you create a profile that is braided with instant messages from people all over the world.

Although you can configure the security settings as public or private you are, we felt the best way to get a representative idea that the site was to keep to our public image as possible. This only leads to a large number of spam messages from random people. One or two of these messages is usually acceptable, but we have had over a dozen in a few days.

In addition, members are invited to participate in a game photos membership qualifications. Judge others with a score of 1 to 10 on the basis of his appeal.

Badoo was found that no group or community can meet other people with similar interests. You can also video and Badoo has not cut from a section of the video or music you find in most other social networking sites. Badoo seemed more like a personal blog with an instant messaging program.

We felt completely safe with Habbo. With only a few Internet warned young people can have fun with this site. Is somewhat non-traditional and not exactly what one of the search for a social network to think with characters.

Habbo is an additional need to download Shockwave to view the room. Shockwave is a free program and it is easy to download. We had problems with a Habbo also works in Firefox but in Internet Explorer.

Netlog

2011-03-31T12:56:00.000+05:30

Image via CrunchBaseNetlog, a European social networking site with over 35 million users and is relatively unknown in the United States. Here you can create a profile, add pictures join clans (groups), upload videos and listen to music all networks with friends. We particularly liked that the site is totally free of advertising.

You can if your profile can be found with a simple search, or more accurately can access your profile, or if the people in your age and location to contact you. The categories are very general and there is no "drill down". For example, if I sports clan pages and pages of groups had to choose. We would reduce the possibility or to filter the search specifically for football or baseball like, and then by special equipment.

In addition, we would like to deploy applications, see, are a necessity of social networks.

Zorpia

2011-03-31T12:51:00.001+05:30

Image via CrunchBaseZorpia.com is the largest social network you've never heard of.Zorpia has a large international community, its features include personalization profile, a good selection of networking features and a very detailed search. In general, Zorpia is the social network itself.

Zorpia has an impressive section of music from popular artists like Ashlee Simpson, Vanessa Hudgens, Alanis Morissette and more. You can also go to the View the profile of the artist, leave a message or join your friends list. The video section consists of a large number of videos uploaded by users. Some are original videos submitted by users, but we found that the vast majority of YouTube videos were taken.

The section includes about 11 subject categories with the groups created by users. Although the group are options to be broad and eclectic is perceived primarily as forums for discussion. Most seemed a threat of comments prompted by a question or a topic of conversation at random. But interesting.

You can buy a range of additional membership Royal connectivity as a profile, no advertising, extra View the profile of design features and unlimited messaging. Membership is ₨400.8 for 3 months, ₨624.72 for 6 months and ₨803.85 for 12 months.

You can limit only to friends or Zorpians in your country. You can also select views as photo albums, journals, video collections and more.

For testing purposes, we left our public profile and few restrictions are placed to help determine the quality of the social networking site. We were a little nervous about the number of spam messages we get from random strangers. It is understandable for some messages here and there, people who do not know, almost every day we have notified at least one or two or instant message from a stranger looking for directions to discuss or exchange addressese-mail. Meet new people from time to time can be fun and interesting, but eventually everything became creepy.

PerfSpot

2011-03-31T12:46:00.000+05:30

Image via CrunchBaseCompared to some of the social-networking sites, our investigation is a relatively new PerfSpot boy on the block. Like most social networking sites PerfSpot offers videos, music, customizable profiles, applications and groups. You can even create your own shop.

Although PerfSpot allows users to only 13 years to join the site for students and young professionals, which will provide an adult. This does not mean that the site is geared for adults, but also "PerfNights" is a section devoted to pictures of people drinking and having fun. Profiles of users under 18 not on a general search.

PerfSpot A unique feature is the ability to create an online store by PerfSpot your host. It is your own e-commerce website recently. All you need is a PayPal account and other things to sell. They also offer free online storage. You can PerfSpot an unlimited number of documents and files in your account. You can print, download PDF files, reports and data on a variety of expansion options.

PerfSpot also has videos from most major networks and Hulu. There are music videos, TV shows, movies and more. It is also an important part of the music that you play thousands of songs and add them to your profile of the library provides. However, we realized that we do not have the ability to upload your own videos to the site.

We want to join PerfSpot has an eclectic collection of over 100 groups and you can update your profile with the profiles that the editor should be adjusted. Even if you do not can have their own code into MySpace, you can choose a combination of colors to choose their pre-made skins and themes.

PerfSpot think the interface is clean and easy to navigate. Privacy settings were easy to find and easy to configure. Several sections of your profile can be configured for different levels of security and may be limited by contact requests in their home countries.

Although PerSpot is a safe place, we felt that not enough attention or approach networking with people you already know. Place in our data analysis more than half a dozen residents were from all over the world make friend requests. While this is less likely to occur if our profile has the strictest privacy settings set, I wanted to see what happens when you keep your public profile as possible.

We were also surprised that even if PerfSpot has a section on online safety issues and there was no link to general support.Through the Contact Us link some e-mail addresses, telephone numbers and online assistance (which never seemed to be available), but we have a selection of frequently asked questions.

Orkut

2011-03-31T12:39:00.001+05:30

Image via CrunchBaseOrkut is Google's attempt, social networks. Already popular in Brazil and India, Orkut is struggling to break the United States. To register for an account orkut has a Gmail account and all updates Orkut, friend requests and messages to your Gmail account has been sent.
Orkut is the main characteristic of social networks is still in its infancy. To create your profile filled out their preferences and interests. However, Orkut appeared to have a Facebook page and has no customization. You can upload photos, create albums and add applications.

You can also include pieces that things like the YouTube URL, widgets, photos, podcasts and more. It is especially for friends.Others simply browse through your account is not displayed. We found that most people use the rest as a comment.

We thought it was very difficult to search and find friends through Orkut. You can display your address with a file. CSV or place your e-mail contacts in a contact-mode operation. You can also search for contacts with keywords in the search box in the upper right corner of the page. However, there is no way to search by location or age or school limit.

We liked the specificity of the orkut privacy settings. You can specify which sections of your profile visible instead of the usual "blanket" approach friends around the world or themselves. You can also lock users report spam and abuse. In addition, it should be 18 to open an account on Orkut. Although we did not use explicit material on the site.

Orkut has a fun "Ask a friend" ask you questions and get answers possible from your friends. It's like your own mini-survey.

The help section includes a Quick Start Guide, FAQ and forums managed primarily by other users. Overall, the help section is well done, but we would like a contact e-mail in case sehen.

hi5

2011-03-31T12:17:00.001+05:30

Image via WikipediaTake a virtual tour-high five when you join the global website Hi5 social networks. Do not limit your circle of friends for people you know from school or community with more than 70 million members, discover the unlimited possibilities of connecting with people around the world for free. In addition, we performed hi5's all free advertising.

hi5 offers customized profiles and security settings and applications. Some things to keep hi5 is difficult for our three search options, sad, and help in the support area and the dependence of applications.

Profile:
You can create your page using hi5 skins of other users. However, if you apply for a further skin can be customized using HTML or CSS. You can also use the simple profile editor, which allows you to change the background color, species and sizes of letters. In your profile page, for information about yourself as a physical description, you're networking, where you are looking for your birth date, education and occupation.

You can write journal entries, upload photos, music and video. Add existing friends from Yahoo, AOL or Hotmail, and join groups. You can also see who visits your profile within 30 days.
All major categories of hi5 site is on top of each page and a page highlighting the category of the current page (news, video, music, etc.) so that you can use the site are displayed. A Google search box for searching available on the internet or you can use photos and video on the website hi5. Visit the website in seven languages.

You need Macromedia Flash to join the chat rooms, which are based on common interests and communicate with the people in your area.

Safety:
There is a "Privacy" on top of each page you can accept a number of privacy settings, including those who look at your profile, feedback and adjustments news and photos.

hi5 allows very precise in the definition of privacy options. Each section of your profile can have its own privacy settings as friends, all users, photos and more tagging.

Network:
hi5 offers networking features like groups, but were surprised to see that does not include instant messaging, chat rooms or entertainment features such as music or videos. Most network hi5 properties are highly dependent on their applications. We would love to see dedicated sections for music and video. Hi5 also found no way to upload your own videos.

Browse categories or classes of keyword search of the group. A number next to each category of the group is the number of groups within this category.

Search:
We had some trouble using hi5 search. You can find friends using the address book of e-mail. If you make contacts in the search box hi5 e-mail to your address. Apart from the search for friends by e-mail, you can search by keyword. However, it is not as easy as it seems.

Despite finding a Google search box at the top of your profile page to a friend, you must enter a few keywords as the name of a person to obtain results. From there you can let go of an expanded search that you search for people by name, age and location.

Help / Support:
hi5 provides a long list of questions and answers to questions or change by answering the different features of the site. Check e-mail or submission form of questions. They offer a ticket system for technical errors, but do not expect an answer if you have a general question of the site.

Legal approach:
hi5 search function is difficult to find it very difficult for foreigners and random friend requests. We feel safe with hi5 website and there are no spam or unwanted.

Summary:
Hi5 has adapted a variety of features such as chat rooms, groups and profile. In general, hi5 is a social networking site, but that is very popular all over the world, but we want to see a greater integration of "wasting time" features like video and music. While we wish he would have ads on your site.

Very popular in the UK is starting Bebo, some of these social networking sites a run for their money. Like other sites that you can customize your profile, add applications to join you define the parameters of privacy and groups.

However, we have found that to be the determination of the navigation and friend of Bebo a bit difficult, but still boast of their security settings, turned out to be a bit overboard.

Profile:
When registering with Bebo a user is assigned. This name is also part of the database. Even if you are not an option in your user name, which is close to memorize his name and easy. Our name has been associated with the account name, middle initial, last name and some numbers.
Bebo profiles are very funny and a great number of customization options. There is a large database of skins to choose for you.Skins will be presented by the users of other Bebo and MySpace skins, unlike some others, there is no risk of spyware or viruses.Although not everything you can customize your profile with HTML or CSS Skins are versatile enough to please most users.

Bebo also has some basic functions like most social networking sites such as adding comments, photos, blogs and applications.Photos can be commented by e-mail and labeling. We wish he could be profile drag and drop to organize modules. With just a little more customization options Bebo MySpace profiles blowing out the water.

Safety:
Bebo is the only place we automatically default to your profile have reviewed private. If you want your public profile, you must manually change the security settings. Bebo also proposes that members under 21 years only the first letter of your last name as a security measure. You can also the age of those who want to make contact with you by establishing a minimum age and maximum settings of your account.

For certain users to users about spam and abuse lock. There is also a back-up link is at the bottom of each page on Bebo with a funny video that explains the problems of security and confidentiality. It is certainly worth a visit.

We were a little surprised that Bebo has been no dedicated link to edit your profile page is set to privacy. Privacy settings in your profile are grouped with all other editing options. We also want some additional options that would have required such as limiting the occurrence of certain models for friends or friends of friends who are not only the opportunity to make your profile public or private.

Network:
Bebo characteristics of networks are global, but there is nothing particularly spectacular about it. Has all the basics such as instant messaging (MSN and Windows Live) images of clouds, videos and music. Bebo has a deal with Skype to be installed on the application and where other users can see which are available through Skype, you can directly with the computer as a phone.

The video section contains links to Youtube, CBS, Spike TV and much more. You can also watch videos in the armor of the internet as webisodes. There are also hundreds of music and video clips from a variety of genres such as the Club, Rap, Hip-Hop, Hardcore, Techno, Christian, country, pop, punk and R & B, just to name a few. They also have local groups to publish their profiles Bebo for a doctorate.

If we see a little disappointing group. Bebo allows users to create and join groups, but the organization of different groups and difficult to navigate. Can search by category, they are just combined.

Search:
Beboers presented to the profiles. You can not free you to navigate or search for specific criteria Bebo. This adds a level of security that many websites do not extend, however, also limits the ability Beboers to their network of friends.

To find new friends, you must load the address Bebo and find the profiles of your friends with their e-mail address. Or you can go to the individual e-mails and search for your friends in this way to write. You can not find the database Bebo by name, school or the city.

We need the help files and FAQ Bebo very entertaining. Not only her soft answer questions every day, but the direction of the user with a sound very relaxed and fun, while the point above. You can also contact by e-mail support form Bebo.

Legal approach:
Bebo Safety is blocked a lot, so the probability of receiving unsolicited e-mails of people crawling all over the world is reduced to almost zero. At that time we had our Bebo account is not a message that will not be a person who did not know, or friend of a friend. Bebo invites you to meet your friends in real life before making a part of the network line.

Summary:
Bebo still has to cut his work when they want to take the first two social networking services, but judging by its popularity in the United Kingdom and Ireland, is a matter of time before they become a sensation in the United States. Although we love the seriousness with which we want the electronic security Bebo look better or to see more customization features privacy setting would.
