Now, my wife is in love with her iPad. When I sold hers in anticipation of the new one coming out, I never heard the end of it from her or my sister-in-law. I understand why she loves the iPad – it’s easier to surf the web while she is at home or at a coffee shop. But practically speaking, an iPad is not nearly as useful or diverse as our MacBook Air’s. That’s what the contractor should have had. He could have been typing on a real keyboard and in a real program like Microsoft Word. Instead, he’s poking away with the volume ON in notepad, an application designed for my grocery list.

The MacBook Air is just as practical while traveling. The 11″ is similar in weight to the iPad and gives you the full on strength of a computer. If you need to do some work, you have that option whereas on an iPad, you don’t. The 11″ is also the perfect size for laying in a hotel bed and surfing the web and it still fits in the front pouch of my carry-on. I really can’t see a reason to have an iPad but I don’t argue with my wife…

He’s is truly an amazing baby. He lost 1 ounce from discharge to first pediatrician appointment and gained 1 lb over the following week. He and Esther are doing great and I am a very proud Father/Husband.

I find myself in this position on flights as well. Esther regularly wants to watch something with me. Not just watch it on two different screens at the same time but with you, on the same screen. I used to get annoyed with this but quickly learned that this is one thing about my wife I am not going to change – practicality is defeated by love of spending time together (despite there being no communication between the two of you). So, we would just use one set of headphones, I typically got the left and she got the right. After we get off the plane, my neck is killing me because you can’t get close to sitting upright.
