Rex's Detailing world

Why Detailing??

2012-04-03T19:39:00.007-07:00

I believe for those who love cars from the very first day, would want to maintain their car like showroom condition since day 1, for some enthusiasts, brighter and better paint quality than any other car's paint condition.

To show the love to your car, professional behavior is needed.

To make your car to maintain the best condition like a new car, professional maintenance is needed
other than mechanical part which mostly relate to the internal parts where mechanics are required.

products???
There are a lot of products in the market, alphabetically from A-Z, price range from cheap to expensive

for cheap products, most cases either it works minimal effect or it cause damage to your car paint.

for expensive products, either it's a waste of money or it works well, so choose the product wisely, through product review, as your car parts or paint caused a lot more than that

but for wrong products, it may caused your paint for FREE damage
sponge: how it absorb water and release, same to what will happen to the dirt, eventually scratch your car
wipers!?: the dust will trapped in the rubber of the wipers, same story that how you will get the scratched for free, not surprising the scratch are in same directions!!!
services???
"i washed my car every week!!!"
"how?"
answers are
"road side car wash" or "wash using a clean cloth whenever i can get"

note: water Pressure gun, the pressure can get your human skin torn, what would this happen to your lovely paint with aggressive pressure???

reason why from them: " i would have washed a lot of times outside to keep my car clean with once of the detailing service paid" but has the fella think for long term?
scratch n swirl will add him as friend like how we meet each others in facebook

and therefore you are awarded with "car whacked unknowingly", effective after few years before you send your car to so called road side polish service

snow wash? is this really works as lubricant removing the dirt?

result is, most of them comes with a free gift called hologram
choosing detailer other than road side polish service??
problem with this, are you willing to pay 3 times more than normal road side polish service to a professional service provider?
either you get a good responsible detailer, who spend their time treating your lovely ride the best. As you're paying once to get the job done 3 times more effective.

or you get a bad service provider who declare themselves as so called Detailers, who has no difference from the road side

of which i happen to know is a car show, where cars with FAMOUS DETAILING BRAND, yet with disappointment, their did not even have swirls removed, which this is a FAILURE for CARRYING SUCH A BIG NAME

there's another detailer, which cost bomb for service once, do they get the job done? let the money talks then.
I happened to know this so called big company provide super expensive service, and yes, some people do claim the more expensive the better it is, cost even more the respraying the whole car with best workmanship around
let's say a new Lamborghini Aventador USD$376,000, the detailer juz collect 1% based on the price tag, is this worth? maybe yes, provided the service is perfect
for us, it;s far more than enough for the service paid.
new cars???
stock car paint is always the best from the car manufacturer as the paint has been through the oven baked, result are brighter, hardened and stronger, similar to the process of ceramics

but wait, you're not collecting your car from the factory, meaning to say they must be transported to your place before you collect your car:

so, it;s not surprised your new car got scratched, swirls

and, for irresponsible reseller, car damaged during transportation, or when the cars bump into each others in the ship's shaky movement, they just repaired without telling you as they're selling new cars, REPAIRED new cars

so what we do is? using a paint thickness gauge, not like a boss, but a professional
the gauge can measure the paint thickness which the thickness should be averagely same
protection to new car???
remove the defects, like swirls, scratches, unknown hologram, tars etc
for those who wants maximum protection, we recommend Opti-coat

restoration???
yes, we restore your car back to showroom condition whenever possible
we are no magicians, but we just get our job done, with patient and passion.

and of course, we follow our steps whenever possible

DON'T wait until it;s too late

when the world has appear like a map from your car

SHOULD you really consider the cost of detailing is really that expensive? think of this

Change before its too late, leave your headache for the detailers to get the job done
who are we?

nope....
we're the detailers using alien tech products

i wouldn't say i'm a professional for the job, but i put all my effort and passion to get the job done, responsibilities, professional behavior that worth every cents our clients are willing to pay.

We use the best products available in our market, not those brand which is not popular in our detailing world market, safe for environment under VOC laws(US).

Thanks for reading and may all your cars shine like new from showroom (forget those showroom cars with defects)

This is not a JDM ride, but it happen to come from the UK, her name is more than juz evolution, rather having a code, FQ400

of which this reminds me of Mr Clarkson's review

picture shown together with optimum products, and a very magical wax, one of the most expensive wax i bought since detailing, Meguiar's NXT 2.0 wax, it smells juz sweet
overall view b4 i start quick detailing, i had part of the car rinsed with water in order to check the paint condition

n the result from quick detailing

it regain its shinny gloss back, if u noticed, i had the stain on the intercooler removed

more reflection?

FQ 400, armed with HKS V-pro, CF cluster etc...

as a result. i wouldn;t say the gloss would last long, it should b consider as temporary purpose
the quick detailing is to let the owner to drive this lovely ride during our holiday here, Chinese New Year
maybe until nx time i would hav this ride fully detailed

Happy Chinese Dragon New Year!!!

detailing maintenance?

2012-01-10T01:47:00.000-08:00

after 1 year plus i detailed this silver arrow, i've been thinking to do some touch up
therefore i think i can do things like removing water marks from wind screen and to restore the headlamp back from yellowish

as the picture shown, water marks, after a surface condition test using water

some water marks
overall condition looks good
this is a 50/50 test, left side using ONR, right right, normal cloth wash for comparison
water draining speed different as well
yellowish headlamps
some of the dirty parts

when cleaning with optimum power clean

after cleaned
picture of after cleaned with ONR
reflection returned

one of the cleaned handles

under the sun
time to clear some water marks
masking... hav the ingredient applied 50/50
50/50 lower part, polished, upper part, none

result after clayed, polish with m205 using lake country polishing pad
i must admit some of the watermark still remained, but i'm sure its ready for some water test
headlamps, clayed using ONR as lubricant, use "yellowish remover"(i forgot the name), m205 n polished, protected with opti-seal

reflection test
my recipe, not to mention i did hav the car opti-sealed and opti-waxed

enjoy the progress, result, from detailing

at night time when rain falls, water beadingsit turn to b crystal?

how good can optimum power clean works?

2012-01-05T08:13:00.001-08:00

these are some of the result i tried using this product, Optimum Power Clean
paint surface safe as well

1 day after 50/50 for a ONR cleaned combine with OPC, the right side is untouched, raining, to b clear the water start to hav some beading while the dity part stick the water together collecting dust
how about car interior? leather seats? no problem

2 engine bay i tried b4

after

another engine, b4

hope u guys can see the differences from b4 and after
and hope u enjoy reading~~!!

easy way for water beading on glass?

2012-01-05T06:12:00.000-08:00

this is a way how u can get yr glasses clean n smooth water flows when driving in rain for better visibility

this, a window which juz cleaned with juz water, can easily see the water is sticking on the glasses, perhaps until it dry, where earth;s gravity does not help to pull the water down
i clayed the glasses, using ONR as lubricant

starting to hav some water beading after the combination of clay and ONR, but that's not what i want

and this, is the water beading i called, thanx to opti-seal

some water beading test

so did i use any machine o rotary? nope
did i used oil based product? nope
did i use product that is harmful to wiper? nope, as optimum is a company which using polymer technology which it is designed for environment friendly as well, if it is harmful? u may see detailers like us hav very bad looking fingers

TQ for reading!!~~

a little assignment for my satria neo

2012-01-05T05:45:00.000-08:00

its been really a while since i last update my detailing blog here
hope my sifu(master) does not blame me for not doing my homework which happen to be part of my bad habbit

since i;m having my very personal holiday, its time to update for my latest art work

recently i scratched my car while driving pass some fallen brunches which i was unable to evade, end up it caused some seriousness injury to my paint work

let's put a test for not using rotary use purely hands for the work
as u can see from above, the headlamp starting to get blur after sometime when i was outstation n no one has actually take good care of her

what i did was:
1, to use our very signature product of alien juice, known as the ONR to clean my car;
2, clayed the defect part like headlamp, the scratches;
3, i juz use meguiar's NXT 2.0 wax to wax on the headlamps

the result is

pretty satisfying to get the shinny headlamps back
the scratch stil remains lightly as i did not use rotary to repair the paint job as a test

for my wheels
this is how my wheel look like b4 i clean
actually i did clean n clayed the wheels
the result is juz WOW~

(forget bout the rust stain caused my water -.-)
in the end of the day i stil get my shinny wheels back

TQ for reading and i hope i m able to post more about detailing soon

this is the reflection before detailing

the most visible scratch on the bonnet

a four month old new car, the paint fade due to acidic air from industrial area where the owner works at

this is the alien juice that does the 1st magic step

my "tool box"

my messy tools

the micro fiber cloth i use for cleaning

the MF clothe i use for cleaning the wax

the MF clothe i use for drying the water

since it;s only a test on half of the bonnet, very little ONR mix wif maybe 1/4 bucket of water

minor dirt i collected from the bonnet

b4 ONR treatment

after ONR treatment, the water now spread on different path

after a few second from the previous pic

step 2, clay

using ONR as lubricant

minor contaminant picked from 50% of the bonnet

rotary, meg's M105 wif wool pad for compound

after 1 pass of compounding, the hologram that cause by the remaining of M105

after compound using lake country cutting pad wif M105
polished with meg;s m205 with the combination of lake country polishing pad

a 50/50, after i done all the process

process recipe:
wash with ONR
dried the car
clay with PG clay using ONR as lubricant for a smooth surface
using makita STOCK wool pad, compound the car with meguiar's M105
then change to lake country cutting pad, using speed 1 to spread, speed 3 then back to speed 1
after compound, polish using lake country polishing pad with meg;s M205, speed 1 to spread, speed 2 then back to speed 1
after that seal the whole car with meg;s nxt 2.0 wax
