Sounding the Seventh Trumpet is the first full length album from American metal band Avenged Sevenfold. After it was released in 2001 on Good Life Recordings, it was re-released by Hopeless Records on March 19, 2002. It featured slightly different cover art (the original didn't have the title on the cover, while the re-issue did). The re-release featured a track formerly on the Warmness on the Soul EP, "To End the Rapture (Heavy Metal Version)", which was the only track on the album to feature new guitarist at the time, Synyster Gates.

Gibson Guitar announced the launch of the official Gibson Island on Second Life.com (SL).

Gibson is the first major music manufacturer to establish an official island in Second Life and has advanced the opportunity for consumers to participate in an exciting virtual world complete with digital luthiers, instruments and guest stars.

The Gibson Island will officially launch at 8am SL Time on Wednesday, July 16, 2008 with an exclusive live music performance at 6pm SL Time.

NEW YORK – Midway through his portion of his heavyweight twin billing with Jay-Z at Yankee Stadium, Eminem took a moment to reflect the gravity of performing a concert on a hallowed ground.

But he wasn't talking about the house that Jeter built: Instead, the Detroit rapper acknowledged the borough where they were performing — the Bronx, the origin of hip-hop.

"Do not think that I don't know where I'm at right now," the Detroit rapper told the audience at the sold-out stadium on Monday. "I'm also honored to be on this (expletive) stage in the Bronx, the (expletive) birthplace of hip-hop."

His concert with Jay-Z was yet another example of just how far the genre has come in its 30-plus-year history. The genre christened the newly constructed Yankee Stadium: The joint billing by two rap icons was the first musical concert at Yankee Stadium, which made its debut last year.

"I gotta tell y'all it's one of the most wonderful things being here tonight, being from New York City and being in Yankee Stadium," Jay-Z told the roaring crowd.

Both Eminem and Jay-Z, who performed two concerts at Detroit's Comerica Park earlier this month, brought out an all-star cast of friends to mark the occasion. During Eminem's performance, which came first, his guests included his posse D-12, protege 50 Cent, mentor Dr. Dre and new hitmaker B.o.B.

Hometown hero Jay-Z would not be outdone, calling on Kanye West, Coldplay's Chris Martin, sensations Drake and Nicki Minaj, and wife Beyonce to support his set.

Eminem and Jay-Z also performed together during Jay-Z's concert for their joint song "Renegade."

While both sets had star power, the vibe of each performance couldn't have been more different. Eminem's performance was about a triumphant comeback, whereas Jay-Z's was more like another coronation.

Eminem — one of the best-selling rappers of all time — owns the year's top-selling album with "Recovery." The album marks his critical comeback after battling a serious addiction to drugs. His concert began by recounting his struggles via a written montage on screen, and later, Eminem spoke of his gratitude for another chance.

"I missed you (expletives), did you miss me?" he said to the screams of the crowd. "It feels so good to be back."

And he demonstrated it with an impassioned if imperfect show that included new hits like "Love the Way You Lie" and the inspirational "Not Afraid" to now-classics like "Without Me" And "Lose Yourself." Though at times it was hard to hear his live rapping over his voice track, he performed with the ferocity of a boxer trying to regain his championship status, even though Eminem already has achieved it.

For Jay-Z, who has been hip-hop's reigning king for some time now, mingling with rock stars, presidents and baseball champions with ease, Monday's performance only seemed to confirm why he's still one of rap and pop's most engaging figures some 15 years after his debut.

He delivered hits like "99 Problems," "On to the Next One" and "Hard Knock Life" with precision, backed by glitzy graphics. He gave West a moment to shine as West rapped his hits "Power" and "Good Life," and the two brought out Minaj for their buzzed-about new song "Monster." He even showed he was more than rap when he brought out Martin, who sang the chorus for Jay-Z's "Heart of the City (Ain't No Love)," then performed a Coldplay hit.

The concert lasted well past midnight, and a few thousand in the crowd started to make their way to the exits while Jay-Z was still rapping to beat the after-concert rush. But most stayed behind, sensing what Jay-Z told them. "This is historic: They ain't never gonna be another night like tonight."

Well, maybe one more night — the pair has another show at Yankee Stadium on Tuesday.

James Brown's Estate Cashes In on His Stuff

Papa has fetched a brand new bag—of money.

The medical bracelet James Brown was wearing before he died on Christmas Day in 2006 sold for a whopping $32,500 Thursday at a Christie's auction of Brown memorabilia.

The winning bidder: The Late Show With David Letterman sidekick and band leader Paul Shaffer.

But although the bracelet way surpassed Christie's $200 to $300 estimate, the day's overall take of $857,688 fell short of expectations.

Also among the 317 personal items on the block at the behest of the Godfather of Soul's estate, which maintained that the auction was necessary to pay bills and taxes: a full-length, black satin cape that went for $47,500; a red leather furniture set that sold for $40,000; and a denim jumpsuit studded with the acronym GFOS that fetched $25,000.

But although Shaffer and the other unnamed memorabilia collectors went away happy, not everyone concerned with Brown's legacy were quite so pleased at the turnout.

"We were not opposed to an auction per se," Yamma Brown, one of his daughters, said today on the Rev. Al Sharpton's New York radio show. "We were opposed to all of the items that went. At the end of the day, everything went."

"It's a very sad day for me and my family," her brother Larry Brown said.

Yamma Brown said that a list of items she and her family wanted to keep was disregarded by the new trustees of Brown's estate, who only on Monday got the OK from a South Carolina judge to proceed with the auction.

Whether the money brought in at auction belongs to Brown's estate or his trust, which holds his song rights and other especially valuable assets, can be "sorted out at a later date," South Carolina Court of Appeals Judge Jasper Cureton wrote in his ruling.

It was Brown's former business managers Buddy Dallas and Alfred Bradley who originally opposed the sale, arguing agains the court's appointment of new trustees. The pair stepped down as trustees last year amid allegations of financial mismanagement brought by Brown's kids.

Other lots available Thursday included the Kennedy Center Honors medal Brown received in 2003, a Grammy, the script for the 2002 film Undercover Brother in which Brown had a cameo, photographs, handwritten lyrics and hair products.

Christie's expected the sale to take in around $1 million.

“It made what I had to do — obviously a very stupid thing that I did — it made that easier, because I could go and the show was not affected by it,” Kiefer said in a quote posted to People.com. “I made a really dumb mistake, and to be able to go back to work, which is something I feel comfortable doing, it’s a safe place for me. I was grateful to have that opportunity.”

Scottish actor Robert Carlyle, who’ll be joining Kiefer in a “24” prequel set to air before the show’s official return next year, told the TCA crowd his co-star is in top form.

Jewel - who has sold over 27 million albums worldwide - advised Jessica, 28, to "be true" to herself when her debut country record hits stores in September.

She said: "I really like Jessica. She's always been such a sweet, sweet person. If I were going to give her any advice, I would say work hard and be authentic. Be true to who you are.

"The thing about country music is its fans have an excellent authenticity meter. They can spot bulls**t a mile away. Anyone who comes to country music just to dabble in it, or who doesn't know it or respect it as a genre and respect its history and tradition, is not going to make it." Jessica recently revealed the record is not just a passing phase, and she wants to sing country music for "the rest" of her life.

New age neo-classicists Libera established their artistic niche by updating choral pieces with ethereal electronic orchestration and theatrical musical sweeps on their self-titled debut album, and the 2001 release Luminosa continues these themes. In interpreting Handel, Beethoven, Saint-Saëns, and Debussy among others, director and producer Robert Prizeman is working from a base of some of the finest compositions in history, so it is no surprise that the pieces are as moving as they are. The alternately haunting and embracing "Ave Maria," assisted greatly by the almost impossibly angelic vocals of soloist Steven Geraghty, swirls through imagined marble halls, echoing brightly through Prizeman's production, while the title track reverberates with delicate harmonies and intricate harp-based orchestration. While some listeners may trouble themselves by asking exactly which elements are organic and which are synthesized, those who can let slip the reins of analysis and release themselves into the music will be gently swept away.

Madonna's brother Christopher Ciccone insists the singer is still "a Catholic girl" and would never have an affair.

The 47-year-old author - whose book 'Life with My Sister Madonna' is causing controversy worldwide - is certain Madonna is not responsible for the breakdown of baseball player Alex Rodriguez's marriage, branding the rumours "absurd".

He told US TV show 'Good Morning America': "I think it's highly unlikely. I know Alex from Miami. I doubt this is actually an affair. I'm sure she had nothing to do with the break-up of their marriage. It seemed absurd to me, truly, I don't believe it. Despite everything else, she's still a Catholic girl."

Christopher also claims Guy is directly responsible for the breakdown of his relationship with Madonna, insisting: "Guy Ritchie pretty much happened to our relationship. The best way to get to my sister was to get into bed with her - the last person to speak to her at night has a lot of influence. We both couldn't exist in the same hemisphere."

The artistic director - who directed Madonna's 1991 documentary 'Madonna: Truth or Dare' - also revealed that before his estrangement from his sister, Guy discriminated against him because of his sexuality. "I get the message - I am gay and he doesn't want the house to reflect my sexuality, which is hardly likely." Christopher hinted Guy's inability to accept him may have caused problems in his and Madonna's marriage.

He wrote: "It has always been of paramount importance to Madonna that the man in her life should be able to deal with the gay men in her life."
