An Usual Question; An Unusual Day

Someone asked me

What’s your ambition? Say

What do you want to be?

Ambitions, well, well, well

I’ve so many of them that I can actually sell

Everyday there’s something new

But let’s start with these few

I want to be…that Bee

On every flower I want to be

All the nectar I want to drink

And in the sweetness of it, Sink

I want to be that River Deep

Rising and falling on every steep

Flowing and following every stone and step

And in the Ocean big, Rest

I want to be that Bird

Sweet music-My every word

Too high from everyone’s reach

Every limit I want to breach

I want to be that Tree

So Strong, No wind could blow me

Want to feed everyone for free

Every season, just sit and see

I want to be that Moon

Sleep Morning, Evening and Noon

And when the world sleeps

Want to dance on my own beats

I want to be that Raindrop

The one on that 9^th Cloud

And in my thundering voice

Want to Sing, Scream and Shout

I want to be that Fish

Swimming seamlessly-My only wish

And all the day long

Want to dance on the Mermaid’s Song

I want to be that Lion

The one with that lazy expression

Want to just lie on those lawns

And fill the sky with my yawns

I want to be that Ship

Seven Oceans I want to rip

Want to fight every storm

And everyday new beaches I want to roam

I want to be that Book

Want to get everyone hooked

Every page a new story

And every reader-My avid glory

I want to be that Sun

Want to make everyone run

Glittering the canyons deep

Rise in the mountains and in the Oceans I’d sleep

I want to be that Lamp

Shinning the Ramp

Want to burn up every night

Lightening the path right

I want to be that Brick

Identical, tough and thick

With some cement and Sand

Want to build a magnificent land

And lastly,

I want to be a Wish

That one on that endless list

Want to travel on the eyelash-My Cart

Straight to that gal’s heart

With my face shining, I backfired

Enough, or want more??

But he was madly running

Running off the shore….

Amazed…

I just sat there and thought

Didn’t I miss something?

Hey.. One thing I forgot….

I want to again be a boy

That 10 year old boy

Broken dreams & unfulfilled desires ripens,

And expectations questioning the reasons.

I can’t understand life, I accept my defeat,

Life is too cryptic & beyond my belief.

Tempting a rabbit with a carrot is an old game.

Why didn’t I understand it when my turn came?

Every triumph is accompanied by a new destiny.

Tired and spent is that man in me.

Someone make me understand.

I’m just a puppet in his hands.

My life is controlled by his commands.

There is no room for my desires & demands.

Now I’m really feeling exhausted.

All my strength and confidence looted.

Each day turning me more insane.

And every breath ushering immense pain.

I’m no longer in control of myself.

My will has died, now no one can help.

My guts are dead, I’m no longer brave.

And my ultimate destiny is that grave!

But I know, he doesn’t want me to die.

He enjoys me watching me weep and cry.

You win, I lose, now please get out of my way.

Stop giving me false hopes everyday.

This time, I’m really begging.

Believe me, I’m really tired of running.

I’ve had enough, let me rest in peace.

Salutation To a Great Teacher

This poem is a salutation,

To the best teacher, to that great person!

Who molded my dreams and defined desires.

And set within me the fires!

His ultimate weapon – That Stick,

With which he made me prompt and quick!

And I’m sure he’d be getting hic-cups.

When I remember those sit-ups!

For all my problems, he lent his ear,

I put him before god and yet call him sir!

Sowed the seeds and my dreams he nurtured.

Inspired me and laid the path for my future!

Held my hand, took me across the boundaries,

Introduced me to the world of mysteries!

Acquainted me with all the philosophies.

And brightened the domain of sciences!

Early mornings and late nights,

Came and went the festivals of lamps and the kites!

Sacrificed his sleep and delights for my rights.

Redefined limits and pushed me to the heights!

Stretched me to that last line,

Ignored my cries and whines!

But now I realize.

The test of fire only made the steel fine!!!

Forever is till when he’d be remembered,

Forever I'd want his blessings showered!

To him I dedicate this rhyme.

For he helped me know Who I Am!

Arise, Awake,
Let your sorrows break.
Create miracles and wonders,
And blow away the thunders.
Look forward to every tomorrow,
And bid bye to all your sorrows.
Life is too short to be taken seriously,
Respect everyone and never envy.
Love yourself more than anyone.
It’d help when you’re left by everyone.
Never hurt anyone, never abuse
And when hurtings comes your way, strictly refuse.
Comfort, cuddle and spoil yourself.
Without any tensions, just rest.
Go out and reach for the stars.
And leave all your sorrows that far.
Flutter your wings fly and scream.
Fulfill your every desires and dreams.
Forget your limits and rise high.
And never question the reasons why.
Move the rocks and dry the seas.
Forget your every cries and weeps,
Never refuse anyone, don’t be selfish.
And give your worries a miss.
Party hard and give life three cheers.
Just live and forget the fears.
Climb the highest mountains.
Throw ur egos out the curtains.
Soar beyond the horizon.
Push the clouds and see the rising sun.
Believe in yourself; u r the ultimate, the best.
But love everyone and respect the rest.
You can’t lose man, you’re the champion.
But help someone to win and be a companion.
Eat, drink and invite temptation,
Because in the end life is a celebration!!

Time

Time passes by,

Making me helpless.

By the pace with which it flies,

Nothing could be argued or done.

i just gaze n grin to my lost n won.

When I start dreaming,

It is already morning.

The cigarette turns off,

When it is yet 2 b enjoyed.

The food is stale,

Before I taste it.

The paint dries off,

Before I conclude my painting.

the rainy season's gone,

When I’m done with my building.

When I’m ready reaping,

The plant starts shedding.

When I think of skiing,

The snow starts melting.

When I snooze my alarm,

It is already evening.

The woods are silent,

When I’m out hunting.

When I’m cooking,

The fire is deceasing.

The time runs out,

Before I complete d racing.

When I find stars enchanting,

It’s already morning.

When I finish with my dressing,

It's already dusking.

The moment passes by me,

Not helping me to tie my laces

Instead it just rushes n runs

Swaying my cries in pun

Not waiting for anyone.

So, never rely on time,

Without ur notice, it'd come and go,

The pendulum won’t stop moving to n fro.

Flutter your wings, fly and scream.

Fulfill ur desires and dreams

Before it is too late,

For one day you'll find yourself,

Standing at the golden gate!

Things Will Be Alright!!!

Here I am, but who am I?

A lonely and frustrated boy lost in the ashes of Time!

With no place left to go and nowhere to hide!!

Sometimes I get baffled,

Why do I still dream, when I know it would always be a dream..

Summoned by my thoughts, I stop walking and grin,

Why is my Life so ruthless and helpless?

But in the end, I find answer within myself!

Isn’t it me responsible for all this clash..

They say, “Nothing Lasts Forever”..

Live as if you are gonna die Tomorrow!!

Would I be able to understand that ever.

But at times,

I put up curtain on all my thoughts.

And try to enjoy my life to the fullest!!

When I think I got life figured out.

It slaps me right on my face and says..

You are not in pace, but still, You are in race..

I still have lots of assaults in store for you..

You are amongst those few’s who always asks for new.

But someone make him listen

That I’m now tired of this bristles!

Go and ask him to spare me for a while.

I need a break coz’ Now I’m riled and becoming fragile..

At times, While returning abode,

I feel too burdened by my thoughts and get frowned.

I, for a moment, put down my worries with which I’m crowned..

And ask the reasons why?

Why is only me for thee to see??

Why are the fates against only me??

But I’ve heard that saying,

“Every cloud has a silver lining”,

So I’ll dry my tears and stop whining..

May be someday soon things will be alright..

Waiting for the happiness to be in sight.

Gearing up against odds and hitting my frights,

In the hope that someday soon…

Things will be alright!!!!

A Cigarette In My Hand

With a cigarette in my hand..

I feel like a Man!!

Passing by the lonely streets,

The Charm, The Power it makes me feel!

Looking back in the depth of time,

When I was just a kid..

Ambitions soaring high, Wings not too big.

One Alone, lonely and frustrated boy,

Chaffed of his duties and dreams

Once decides to have some relief.

Here, the story begins,

This boy lands in cigarette wonderland.

Bewildered, what a small stick can make him feel,

Perplexed he is, though keen!!

Finally he enters the dreaded territory,

Full of smoke, excitement & energy.

Though for some seconds, that smoke gave him freedom.

To forget all his miseries, worries, pains and fears.

It made him feel like never before.

Contended now with what he was..

Years passed by and that stick kept burning,

Promising its service forever, till the ending!!!

I wish I could say this on your face

As you sit here, beside me

Along with a bus full of annoyers

Your presence kindles my being.

It breeds unwanted thoughts,

And arises indocile emotions.

Listen glorious juvenile!

Don’t smile too often,

Your smile deceives me.

Avert looking so innocent.

It arouses me to nuzzle you like a baby.

Don’t walk too slowly,

That evokes me to walk with you.

Cover your hair,

Their shine dazes me.

And keep your voice a bit low,

It really enchants me.

Give up those sweet gestures.

It gets my head smoky.

Avoid dressing so beautifully,

Your view first stuns and then kills.

And Please, Don’t look at me this way!

It sets me aflame.

So many wishes engulf my mind,

As I sit here, beside you.

And I take off in day dreaming.

I glare onto those glary eyes.

I treat my eyes with your face.

I spend a day with you and only you,

Forgetting every bit of myself.

I hold your hand and not let you go.

I caress your brows and curls.

And you giggle bashfully.

You were laughing at my silly joke.

We both listen to the same romantic song,

And get lost in the fantasies.

I heard your stupid talks all day long.

And promised you beautiful tomorrows.

We dance on a melodies tune,

Under the grey sky and your care.

And we got lost somewhere, together,

Somewhere far from this selfish world.

I wonder. How many times

I would have wished true these idiotic dreams.

Your destiny came.

You left, but your thoughts didn’t.

Oh Gorgeous! Have some mercy.

Don’t play these unfair games.

Keep off from my dreams and desires.

Don’t feed me such temptations.

Quit giving undeniable invitations.

Please, stop my heart from falling for you.

The victor is certain,

So call off this war.

I fear my existence, my being.

After sinking in love of you!

This is the last poem I’m writing for ‘her’. You people might be wondering who that gal is … Well, She is there with me in my college. It was the first day of her in the college that I fell in love with her. Love-at-the-first-glance kind of of thing. But later when I told her about my feelings, she informed me that she was already in a relationship. Bang, goes my heart into pieces. But still I decided to hang on. During this one year I made lots of attempts to express my love, but she never realized my feelings. So finally I’m giving up.I’ve realized that our relationship has no future. It was on 2008’s Valentine’s Day that I gave her my first poem. And now on this 2009’s Valentine’s Day, I gave her this last poem…So no more posts under this section until someone fills up the vacancy!! [;)]

I know you’d be glad

I’m tired of playing this waiting game

Tired of running behind like a mad

Dreamed of you day & night

Loved you with all my might

What more did I expect but some love

Wasn’t it my right??

My Destiny

I remember you once asking me,

Do you believe in Destiny?

A Destiny is nothing but a game,

A mere show of Money, Power & Fame!

But I have different measures of Destiny,

It is something someone you’ve wanted so badly.

For me Destiny is loving you eternally,

It is caring for you selflessly.

For me Destiny is being in your arms forever,

It is leaving you never ever.

For me Destiny is holding ur hand through every thick n thin,

It is having you in my every lose n win.

For me Destiny is making your every dream come true,

It is spending my every second besides you.

For me Destiny is giving you a kiss every night,

It is watching you asleep in the first morning light.

For me Destiny is seeing with you world of wonders,

It is drenching with you in the thunders.

For me Destiny is that shine in your eyes,

It is consoling your every cries.

For me Destiny is making you feel like the princess,

It is building you the best palace.

For me Destiny is watching you laugh & play,

It is to make you happy in every possible way.

For me Destiny is bringing u all the pearls,

It is caressing your brows & your curls.

For me Destiny is being with you on a lonely beach,

It is smelling the scent of your body through d breeze.

So I think it I clear to you,

That my life is nothing but thoughts of you.

The more I control my feeling, the more it hurts,

My Love and a Shooting Star

I was thinking what to think,

Then u came to my mind with a blink.

And this isn’t anything new.

I do understand, that am not amongst those few,

Who are privileged to be with you..

Yesterday, I was sitting beneath the sparkling sky,

Thinking of the end drawing nigh.

After Moon, this time there was one star..

From high above, he asked me,

Why do you still love her?

I still didn’t had answer,

So I just left out a deep sigh!

He was amazed n replied..

Don’t lose hope man, smile..

Someday surely she’ll reply…

Up above from here..

I can see her…

Just be happy coz she’s happy..

What do u want more, be merry.

I asked him, how she looks when she’s sleeping..

Said he, come here and see

What the word sleeping beauty really means!!!

Surely she’ll realize someday..

Let your feelings not fade…

Search for a way, and slowly wade,

For there is sunshine to come after rain.

If not she, at least I realize your worth…

All your feelings won’t go in vain!

I’ve heard that you humans believe

That a shooting star fulfills

Your wants, deep desires and wishes

And without even asking..

From up above, he wanes..

And putting his life on stake,

Struggling with his breath, in a grimace,

He says..

Valentine's Day

Can’t you see my Angel Darling!!

My eyes are still laid waiting..

Searching, Seeking & Yearning.

For the gal who has left me hanging.

No matter what I still LOVE you a lot.

One day the Moon said to me…

“If LOVE makes you cry,

Why don’t you leave her?”

I had no answer why!

I just looked back and said,

“Moon, would you ever leave your sky?”

The first day I saw you,

I felt the whole world was mine.

I thought you were the answers to my prayers,

To lead me from these betrayals..

Sapphire Eyes, Ruby Lips, Shinning hair and a smile big!

I didn’t believe in LOVE at first sight,

Until unless I first saw you!

What’s being in LOVE, then I knew.

Days went in dreams and nights longing.

I was lost in my own world, wandering.

Longing for that unreachable star.

Each day battling a war.

To hear your laugh, see you, talk to you,

You can’t even imagine what I can do!!

And I myself don’t know,

To what extent I can go,

To hold your hand and make a vow!!!!!

So on this special day,

Once more let me say, let me make you aware,

What you make me feel, How much I love you,

And how much can I care!!!

Wrote for 'that' gal on the eve of valentine day. Couldn't think of anything special for her, so just drafted this poem.
