Hey all!!

As you have probably noticed I have not posted a blog for some time. I have recently had a baby and have also been away for over 2 months! It is great to be back.

I was able to spend some time in Zimbabwe. It is amazing how much a country can change. The people there are still friendlier than ever. Zimbabwe has now moved to the US dollar as its own economy went so drastically downhill with inflation hitting over 300,000,000% You heard me, 300 million percent!!! Back then it was easy to walk into a supermarket and be overwhelmed not only by the prices, but also by the emptiness of the shelves. A loaf of bread- ZIM$200,000 a cup of coffee- ZIM$350,000 (and the prices still went up from there). Now it is possible to go for a great meal/ coffee etc. for prices that are very comparable, if not more expensive, to the UK and the US. The flip side if this is that people are charging these prices in US$ but still paying a Zimbabwean salary. An example of this is a software engineer I met who was making US$1,000 would be making US6,000-US$7,000 a month in the UK or US. Rent prices in Zim were still quite high. While there we had numerous power outages. These are a regular thing in Zim, but due to the World Cup Soccer being held in South Africa they promised to cut back. Power outages are a daily occurrence. Another great stat for you- broadband, which has just arrived in Zim, costs around US$500 for an unlimited package. In the UK we pay around £10 for the same deal! Most of the time I was only able to get onto a very poor 3G network, or dial up.

So, although I had a great time in Zim, I’m sure you can see why I’ve not made a post while I was away.

I am back now and look forward to bringing you as much value added content as I can!

Let me know how you have all been for the last 2-3 months!

Have you ever tried to do a puzzle before? Try picture a 1,000 piece puzzle of anything, could be something really difficult, or something really simple, but 1,000 pieces. It takes time to put a puzzle this size together. Every now and then a piece goes in the wrong place, but eventually it gets there.

Life is like a puzzle. The only problem is that when people try and put the puzzle of life together, they are trying to put it together upside down. Next time you try a puzzle, try do it upside down and make a note of how successful you were. You would not do a puzzle upside down, you would look at all the pieces, separate the four corners and then the sides and start with those so you have a frame to work with.

The question I ask is WHY do we not do life this way? When was the last time you sat down and wrote a list of goals for the next 5 years, year, month, week and day?

Even though a puzzle is trivial and fun, when completed all the people involved have a sense of pride about completing it. They accomplished something. But before they accomplished it, they knew what they were setting out to do. That’s one of the cool things about puzzles; they come in a box with a picture on the front.

The moment you start to dream is when you start to paint the picture onto your box. The problem here is that when most people dream they still try and put the puzzle together upside down!

When you start writing your goals is when you start to pull out the 4 corners and sides of the puzzle. Working towards your goals is putting the middle into the puzzle. It is sometimes frustrating and can get dull, but unless you stick with it you will never have anything to show for what you are dreaming about.

Take the time to go, right now, and dream. Put on your favorite song and let your mind wander, let your dreams reveal themselves. Then take a pen and paper and start writing them down. Once you have written your dreams down, write down the actionable steps it will take to accomplish your dreams. Go and live the life you want to live. It may take years to put your puzzle together, but when it is done it is YOUR puzzle and YOUR accomplishment and YOUR dream!

iLearningGlobal really hit home for thousands of people. When I joined the MLM industry I joined for the content provided by iLearningGlobal, and nothing more. The value was unbelievable. I was fortunate enough to join shortly after iLearningGlobal launched, so was in for quite some time.

The successes of iLearningGlobal

There were many! Firstly the people who backed iLearningGlobal were of the highest caliber in the world. Literally! With names like Bill Bartmann, Brian Tracy, Mark Victor Hansen and many more, where could you go wrong? Then there was the financial aspect! And it was good! I have a few friends who managed to start earning in the upper end of the 5 digit income in only a few months.

So what went wrong?

I’m currently in the UK and received an email from iLearningGlobal announcing a change of their business model. My first response was that it was probably nothing major but when skimming over the email and seeing them quoting some of the terms and conditions I thought I should start over and read it properly.

This came suddenly and unexpectedly! A good friend of mine, and a top earner in iLearningGlobal had just received a phone call from iLearningGlobal letting him know ‘in advance’ what was happening. He was trying to negotiate a softer approach and a delay to organize some options for his iLearningGlobal team. While he was on the phone the email went out. We all found out at the same time. If any of you out there are bitter towards your leaders, don’t be. There is a really big chance that they found out when you did.

Why the sudden fall?

Rumors are all we have right now. I’ve been fortunate to hear these rumors from people much higher up in the company than me, so I do hold them with value.

The first rumor is that there were only a handful of people actually making exceptionally good money with iLearningGlobal.

The second rumor could probably explain why there was such a sudden end to the MLM model. iLearningGlobal was growing rapidly and people were starting to make money. Unfortunately most people in the company were not watching the signature videos iLearningGlobal provided. Put another way, not enough people in the company were using the product. We all know what a ‘MLM company’ with no product is- a Ponzi scheme. I want to emphasize that iLearningGlobal was DEFINITELY NOT a Ponzi scheme. However, as so many people were not using the product and starting to make money the MLM authorities were starting to look into it. The names backing iLearningGlobal can obviously not be tainted with being involved in a Ponzi Scheme. This would explain the sudden and dramatic end more emphatically.

Unfortunately there are many people hopping on the band wagon here searching for fall out like vultures after a kill. There are some eagles flying in with the vultures, and I want to commit these people. I have seen many articles already where clearly NO research has been done telling us that iLearningGlobal has shut their doors forever. This is not true. The business model has been changed, but the content is still there. I for one will keep my iLearningGlobal membership. For iLearningGlobal marketers the new price will be around $39, for new people who would like to join iLearningGlobal the price will be around $59. This is down from $179! So many of us were willing to pay $179 for this content, so to have it for this new and lower price is unbelievable.

The future of iLearningGlobal is uncertain at the moment. But while the doors are still open I will try and get as much value as I can. No matter what business you are in, whether you are an entrepreneur or have a job, you WILL get value from iLearningGlobal.

On that note, I have absolutely no regrets having worked with iLearningGlobal over the past year. Being business men/women we have some amazing opportunities open to us.

If I am able to find out any more information I will update this article. So check back regularly.

Being a leader does not mean you have to have the nice big corner office. It doesn’t mean you have thousands of people at your beck and call. Being a leader is simply someone that can inspire others. Have you ever been with a group of friends and your dinner reservation fell through and now you have to make a new one? Well, the person who starts the decision making process is the natural leader in that given situation. I did not say the person who starts bossing everyone else around, I said the person who starts the decision making process.

I say natural leader here, but leadership skills can be developed. It takes an active decision to start developing these skills. You then need to actively push yourself out of you comfort zones and look for roles of responsibility. The more roles you take on, the more your leadership skills will evolve.

The more you develop your abilities and the stronger leader you start to become, the easier it is to become discouraged. Especially as others will lack the same passion you have for your projects. Natural leaders are able to keep calm and steady as these situations arise. If you are not the calm and steady type, make sure you take a few deep breaths before you continue to calm yourself down.

Natural leaders walk with a confident posture. If you know that you slouch when you walk, then pin your shoulders back, hold your head up high, and walk around like you own the place. People notice posture. It is important to speak with ‘posture’ in your voice too. Natural leaders speak with confidence. If they know how something is done they, more often than note, end up leading the situation. People just hand over to them, there’s no need for a discussion, people just accept your knowledge. If a natural leader does not know what is going on, they do not pretend to! This is what makes the previous point so important. People know that you are trustworthy; you don’t try fake your way through situations. Because of this they are perfectly happy to give you control when you tell them you know how to do something.

Leaders can act and make decisions under pressure. They know what needs to be done and they go for it!

I want to end off by saying that ‘natural leaders’ were not always ‘natural leaders’. They developed into leaders somewhere during life. It could have been at primary school, it could have been after school. My point is that you can develop yourself into such a great leader that people will look at you and say, “You are a natural leader!”

Many people battle with chasing their goals. I say chasing becomes people run after them and often let them drift away! The main reason- excuses and assumptions. It is vital that you never ‘assume’ anything. Have you heard the phrase ‘the sin of assumption’? That is how bad some people see assumption! Your probably thinking, “What are we meant to do if we can’t assume?!” Well, the answer is simple. Deduce! Sure sometimes you have to assume. But never stop aiming for your goals because you have assumed the worse of a situation. It is absolutely fine if you deduce that you cannot go down a route to achieve your goal, but then go and look for another route! Too many people count themselves out because it didn’t work the first time.

When you see Olympic athletes, what do you see? Do you see a talented person? Do you see someone that has everything going for them? Or, do you see someone that achieved the impossible? The difference between Olympic athletes and the average person on the street, is that these athletes did not see the impossible, they saw beyond the realms of their gifts. Their vision was greater than their ability! No-one is born with that much ability! The top performing tennis stars are out every morning from a very early age spending hours every single day on the court working to achieve their vision. But then this is what sets apart the great from the average.

It is entirely up to you whether you want to be great, or average. Maybe you would be happy with just a little bit above average? More than likely you are reading this article because you want to be great!

First thing you need to do is challenge your belief system. What do you believe? Does it restrict your potential? Are you caught up in a box? Once you have defined your belief system it will be simpler to see which belief could be hindering you from achieving your goals. From here you need to try and decide what can aid you in changing your mindset. Little hint- I’ve got an article on mindset. Read it, apply it. Make sure your goals are written down. A goal is simply the shortest route from where you are to where you want to be. It should not be more complicated than this! It should be a journey that you enjoy, seeing results along the journey. Make sure you do enjoy it! This is your life, these are your goals!

The work environment is full with managers and bosses, but it needs more leaders! Simply put, leaders inspire people so they want to do what they otherwise would have not even thought of.

Leaders create a great environment for others. If you are shouting and screaming at work, you are not leading, please, don’t fool yourself. You are managing. Managers handle situations; leaders give vision to change situations.

In authoritative situations, leaders let people know what is expected of them. If you are a natural leader in a group of friends, obviously it is not wise to tell them what you expect of them, you are friends! If you are in a leadership position for work then it is vital that your employees know what you expect. It could be helpful to go through goal setting with them. Let them take ownership of what you expect them to do. If they are involved in the decision making process, especially involving their career, then there is a good change their work ethics would improve!

As a leader, make sure you talk to your employees with the same amount of respect as you use to talk to your boss. Obviously you are not able to tell your boss what to do. But you can still treat them all with the same level of respect. Watch their attitudes change when you do this, watch their work improve as they begin to feel more valued!

When a job is well done, provide affirmation for the person/people involved. Sure, it is what they are paid to do, but when it is a job well done, often when a job is well done, people went above what is expected.

Don’t take your problems to your employees. If you are having problems whether they are personal or work related, only take your problems up the chain of command. If you think there is nothing wrong taking problems down the chain of command ask yourself this: “Will speaking to my employees fix my problems?” If your employees are the problem you obviously need to speak to them. If they are not, then you are just whining. When leaders whine the respect people have for them drops down a few notches. You may eventually find yourself managing your employees and not leading them simply due to the lack of respect they now have.

Taking your problems up the chain of command allows for your employees to see that you are an action taker. This is extremely beneficial when an employee brings a problem to you (because you are the next person up from them in their chain of command) and you get results. Word will spread that the change is due to your taking action.

Goals. We all hear about them, some people talk about them, some even set them, but how many of us achieve them?

What is a goal? Goals define our purpose. When we want to achieve something it becomes a goal. And, theoretically, we aim to accomplish it. When we achieve it we see that particular journey as a success.

Did you know that setting goals is an intellectual process? No-one is born with goals in mind. That probably sounds ridiculous, but what sounds more ridiculous is when people blame others for not being able to set, or reach, their goals. People who can set good goals have learned how to do so.

The first problem people have when setting goals, is that they think logically. Goals are not meant to be logical. If you want to set a good goal, you need to take the lid off, and dive into your imagination. Figure out what you want and go for it. Do not use reason to create a goal, or try and justify your goal. If you are a very reasonable and logical person, take some time out to just think about what you would really want if money and time were not a contributing factor. If you do that your imagination will start to run and you will come up with some magnificent goals. Other people should laugh at you when you have set your goal that you want to achieve. This is the size of the goal we are talking about.

When you use reason and logic to justify your goals, you are basing your decisions around your current circumstances. Your goal is something that will remove you from your current circumstances. Put all of that aside, there is a time to consider that, but not just yet.

Once you have decided what your goal is and have set it firmly in writing, you can work towards achieving your goal. This is when you think about your current circumstances and situation. You now need to position yourself to achieve your goal. What is positioning yourself? Well, this is where you decide what it will take to achieve your goal. You need to take your big goal, and break it down into smaller goals and then break down the smaller goals into even smaller goals and keep doing so until you have bite sized chunks. When you look at your main goal, it will look like it is something that you cannot achieve at all! That is why you need to break it down, writing down every smaller step, each piece building off the previous.

The first step you need to take, is to actually take a step! Act now. Don’t wait! Stop setting a goal to right your goals down, and just sit down and start now!

Goals help us maximize our success. Napoleon Hill, one of the Grandfathers of personal development said, “Goals are anything we want to do, be, have, or achieve.” This is a very broad statement. But it covers goals perfectly! The great thing about goals is that there is not just one kind of goal. No two goals are alike. Sure, you and the person next to you may want to earn $50,000 a month, yes, I do mean ‘a month’, but your journeys on how to get there will be extremely different.

Our individual journey to set and achieve goals is almost as unique as a finger print! The moment you try mimic someone else’s journey, is the moment you move away from your own. You can absolutely take tips and advice and implement strategies given by someone else, but it is important that you are flexible and willing to slightly adjust what you are doing to suit your character and your strengths!

Jerry Bresser said, “There are no unrealistic goals, just unrealistic time frames.” Your goal is not the problem. Make sure you are giving yourself a realistic time frame. If you are incredibly ambitious, set a time frame to suit. Bill Bartmann set a time frame, when he was bankrupt, to make it into the Forbes list of richest men in America within 5 years. Did he make it? No! But he did make it in five and a half years! Find the time frame that suits you, put it on paper, and go for it.

Don Hutson says, “Writing your goals on paper triples the chance you have of success. Setting a time frame and writing it down next to the goal increases your chance of success by TEN times!” Less the one half of a percent of employees in the work force today write their goals down! What does this tell you? Well, it tells me that if you were to put your goals in writing, you would be amongst the elite! You would start succeeding!

Our behavior is a result of our beliefs, and therefore, when we write our goals down and start believing what we are capable of and what we can do, our behavior starts to take after our belief system. In short, if you write it down and believe it, you can make it happen!

If you have not written your goals then right now, go get a pen and paper and write them down. Typing won’t do, you have to write them in ink on paper and keep them somewhere you can access them easily and review them daily. Keep motivated! Keep Strong!

Have you ever done something just because you would like to tell people about it? One of my decisions in life was that I would live the kind of life that when I have grand children they will be captivated by my life and will want to hear over and over again. But this means I have to live an exciting life. I love new challenges, I love being part of a story, I love creating the stories for others to be part of!

Everyone wants to be part of a story. Why is it that when a World Cup is won in football, soccer, rugby, or when the Olympic team returns home thousands of people come to greet them at the airport. You can watch video clips of these teams arriving home to cheering, singing, dancing, people so happy to be at the airport. They don’t care about the weather, the distance they have to travel, they just want to be part of the story! Why? The game is over, the trophy is won, but they still want to be involved.

What story are you creating? Is your story for you, and only you? There is a great book/movie called Scrooge. Remember it? All about the nasty old man at Christmas. Does your story encompass your family and friends? This is where most people live their life and it is a great place to be! There are a very few number of people in life that make the decision to become part of a great story. The decide to impact strangers in their story. They help, teach, train and inspire others to be able to live a better life. You need to make a decision to live this kind of life! It won’t just happen, it takes action.

John Stephen Akhwari. Recognize the name? He is an Olympic marathon runner who ran in 1968. If you Google ‘marathon winners 1968s’ you won’t find him. Why? Because he didn’t win, in fact, he lost, and badly. I put ‘Olympics 1968 marathon’ into Google. The first result- John Stephen Akhwari. Why is it that the world remembers this man, who lost so badly, more than they remember the winner? Well, it’s because of his story. He fell during the race. He injured himself, yet this Tanzanian kept running! The race had finished, the crowds had mostly disappeared. Only a few people remained and cheered as he finished. It was clear that he had no chance of winning, he limped across a finish line and a reporter asked why he had not given up. Looking confused he replied, “My country did not send me to Mexico City to start the race. They sent me to finish.”

This man’s commitment to finish the race has made him famous. It didn’t even cross his mind to give up. His story is phenomenal. Those that stayed to cheer as he came in are part of that story. They were impacted by his commitment.

I challenge you today to go and create your story. Go and live your dreams and don’t give up. It may look fruitless, but if you even live half of your dream rather than none of it- don’t you think your life would have a huge impact and be even more worth living?

Following on from my last blog post, Your 1 Degree Difference, are these 8 Principles For Inspired Action from Ron Finklestein. Of course, I aim to dive a bit deeper and add my own twist, but Ron definitely gets full credit.

1.	Intelligent Self Interest
When making decisions make sure that you are taking your own situation into account. You have the same amount of time in your day as everyone else. You have limited resources, and you have limited money. Understand what is within your best interest and choose to take action.

2.	Learn to say ‘No’
Learning to say ‘No’ allows you to go from successful to significant. Most people really battle setting up boundaries for themselves. It is possible to let people down gently by saying ‘no’. Don’t burn bridges, and make sure you stick to your firm boundaries. This is one of the hardest principles to act on. People generally like to be liked, and fear that if they say ‘no’ people will stop liking them. That is why this principle can take you from successful to significant. Once you have it perfected, you will respected, trusted, and rapidly moving through life focusing on your goals. This isn’t to say don’t help others. But make sure you are not taking on any more responsibility beyond your capacity.

3.	Ownership- Legal right of possession
Take ownership of your actions. You either did the task, or you did not do the task. Stop trying to find excuses. You may have a perfectly legitimate excuse, but then how much time do you waste talking about it and feeling sorry for yourself. There is nothing wrong with not completing a task, just take ownership, and make sure it gets done as soon as possible.

4.	Measure Results
Find out what works for YOU. Don’t worry about everyone else. Find you strategies. If something is not working- then stop! Different people have different strengths. Make sure you build on yours. As you go you will build new strengths, then you can start building on those too.

5.	Discipline
Learn to create successful habits. Don’t talk the million dollar game if your actions are giving you million dollar habits! Set up event goals and not results goals. An example of this could be: Result goal- recruit 1 person into your team a week. You have no control over this. But, as you do track your results, you know that on average it takes 20 phone calls to recruit 1 person into your team. An Event goal would therefore be making 20 phone calls a week.

6.	People
Your success is completely 100% dependant on how well you coach, counsel, motivate, persuade and influence others to take inspired action. You need to understand what is important to others and why they would want to do business with YOU and not someone else. What sets you apart from everyone else?

7.	Persistence
Persistence can be defined as a continuing effect after a cause has been removed. Even when things are tough keep going for it. Anything worth having is worth fighting for. How far are you willing to go to reach your dreams?

8.	Action
None of the above principles are any good unless you take action. You need to decide for yourself to take inspired action. Make the most of every decision you need to make. Decide wisely, and if you chose to go for it, then REALLY go for it!

Continuing on from the event I attended I am going to dive deeper into Ron Finklestein’s talk on a 1 degree difference.

People are people. We let our belief systems hold us back. Why?! Too often we are caught up in a mindset that really stops us reaching our full potential. Learning to change our mindsets, we need to act on simple things daily that will allow us to change our thought patterns by just 1 degree every day. Imagine if you could do that consistently! Next time you come across something you would love to do but don’t ‘think’ you can, go for it! Shift your mindset this 1 degree.

It is incredibly important that you all know that defining moments create opportunity! That one decision could be life altering, for good or bad. We all need to know the difference between these life altering decisions and learn to make those that have beneficial consequences.

Did you know that you can learn to create your own defining moments? Seriously, you can. How many of you have heard of the analogy of an intersection? You know, the cross roads of life. Do I choose ‘A’ or ‘B’? When you come to an intersection you know there is a decision to be made. There is either a stop sign, or a traffic light but there usually is something. We all know that these are not the only times when driving where you could make a turn. Sometimes there is that little right or left turn along the way. Who knew it was even there? I mean really, it was such a small road! Would taking it have any consequences at all? Intersections are what take your life from average to above average. These little turns along the way are what take your life from above average to exceptional!

I love taking these little turns! You receive the weirdest looks from people! They wonder what on earth you are doing. Why are you heading down there? Of course, none of them know what is down that road, but they will mock you for going in that direction. These turns often create a 90 degree shift in your thinking. They are something completely knew and a complete revelation. 1 degree shifts in thinking happen over time, 90 degree shifts don’t happen as often, but when they do, it is truly amazing!

Focus on the 1 degree shifts today. Then the 90 degree shifts will become more obvious along the way. To focus on a 1 degree shift you need a catalyst. Try focus on a personal development book or audio CD, or even a video. The important part is what happens once you are involved in this action. Apply just one or two things a day that you learn. By doing so, you start that 1 degree shift.

I recently hopped on a flight and travelled for 15 hours, including a connection, to attend a conference in Indianapolis. I was there for two nights and listened to the most amazing speakers and bestselling authors and then did the return journey. Such is the nature of my business; I am constantly surrounded by the best of the best! Boyd Matheson kicked off the day’s session talking about Entrepreneurship. This is the first of a series of blog posts I will be doing based on the event.

Being Entrepreneurs we have big and lofty ideas. We’re dreamers. We see the bigger picture. We are in a rapidly evolving society where university/college degrees are out dated within 18 months, unless of course you are in computing, then the degree has a much shorter time span! Most in demand jobs did not even exist 6 years ago. Children at schools are being trained for jobs that will not even exist when the time comes for them to get a job.

It is IMPERATIVE that we all have the Entrepreneurial spirit! Entrepreneurs think differently. We have different goals and aspirations. We know that by applying ourselves and becoming a product of constant education and development we will be in the power seats in life! But why is it that we have so much opposition. Have you ever met that person who told you that your dreams are too far out of your league? Bill Bartmann calls these people ‘negative motivators’. We all have them, not just you. It’s how you respond to these people that defines your future. Notice I said ‘respond’ and not ‘react’.

Boyd Matheson gave a fantastic example. Have you ever watched the sun rise? Have you ever climbed a mountain and watched the sun rise? Do you remember the view? It is one of the most beautiful sites I have ever seen. The view is unreal!

Have you ever met the person that will never get up to see a sunrise? They won’t put the effort in to climb the mountain. And, of course, they criticize those that do. This is figurative, your mountain may be something different to my mountain, but I’m sure you get the idea.

This is difficult to overcome. It is so important that you do not let people discourage you! Once you have seen that view, you will never forget it. It sticks with you. This is what being an Entrepreneur is about. You get a glimpse at something bigger than what you are.

Did you ever notice that when you start climbing the mountain the view does not change that much. You get tired, it gets steep, but you stick with it. As you are elevating more and more you see more and more. Your perspective changes. Your perspective only changes as you elevate more and more. As you get higher and higher the beauty starts to reveal itself. It’s magnificent! Never EVER let someone stuck in a valley below you tell you otherwise!

‘What is above knows what is below. What is below does not know what is above’ Boyd Matheson.

Once you see your mountain, go for it. If you are stuck in a valley, it’s time to get out of it. We ALL need to choose to climb higher. It is a decision we make ourselves. Personally, I compare my life to the Everest of all lives. What is your life going to be?

Do you think these great leaders and professionals woke up one day and said, “Today, I’m going to be an expert at xyz”? Life does not work out like this! People do not change their dreams on a day by day basis! We all have dreams, and maybe they change slightly day to day, maybe you get new dreams, but in general they are all on the same wave length.

It takes some serious positioning for those of us with ambitious dreams to reach them. Here’s an example: To be a multi millionaire you could rob a bank, win the lottery, or start the process of positioning yourself. It may sound complicated, but positioning yourself, simply put, means dividing your goals into smaller goals, and then again into smaller goals, and then achieving one goal at a time. If you do this on a daily basis, and you work on achieving each goal, you will position yourself!

A great real life example, for many of you reading this post, is on Network Marketing. In reality, this is the best option the average person has to become financially free! In order to be successful in Network marketing you need to focus online, and offline, especially getting started in today’s society. Let’s focus online. You need to establish a web presence, let people know you are someone trustworthy and not someone trying to get a quick buck off them. In order to establish a web presence you need to be all over web 2.0 (all the social networking sites, have a blog, articles etc). It really is overwhelming! That’s why you break it down even further! Let’s go with social networking. The most common sites today is Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, and so many more! But even this is a lot to handle so start with Facebook and maybe Twitter. If you start with one of those two today, and do the simple things daily (and I mean DAILY) then you will position yourself and get going on your journey. Soon Facebook and Twitter will be booming, and then you can focus on your blog, people will research you, so have something available when they Google you! You can get really specific when positioning yourself!

This example is specific to Network Marketing, but it DOES NOT change from industry to industry, if you want to be a doctor, fireman, pilot, whatever- make sure you position yourself!

I am an iLearningGlobal Independent marketer. One of the first things I realized I need to do when joining was look into the history of the personal development industry in MLM. Sure enough the name ‘Success University’ kept popping up, but I could never find any decent information on it! Well, as it turns out, Success University merged with a travel company and considering how different the two are I asked, “How?!” They are not related at all! I then had to try figure out if iLearningGlobal would go the same way.

Why did Success University merge to become part of World Ventures? Well, I can only share part of the bigger picture. In 2008 Namibia declared Success University a pyramid scheme. Namibia reasoned that 88% of the marketers would be making losses. Several newspapers also called Matt Morris’s business a pyramid scheme as they did not employ any professionals and they did not have corporate offices (Wikipedia). Success University had some great names backing them, but is this enough?

Now, will iLearningGlobal go the same way? Well, iLearningGlobal has corporate offices and staff based in Mesa, Arizona. iLearningGlobal is now backed by over 200 industry leaders boasting names like Brian Tracy and Bill Bartmann among many more! These are not people who would stake their reputation on a business destined for failure, or even to be taken over in a merger. The amount of money invested in iLearningGlobal is huge. The signature videos, which are iLearningGlobal’s focus, are worth well over US$3.5 million! A number of bestselling authors and speakers have also put their books and mp3 files up for free.

Something else to note is that Success University started off with a $2 trial. This is great is it gives people the opportunity to have a look at the system before committing. iLearningGlobal does not have this trial feature which is, in turn, a huge benefit! This means you only get serious people building your business and it will therefore have a stronger foundation.

In my opinion, iLearningGlobal will not go the same way. I have banked my time and money on that (literally!) and am rapidly building my own business. I make a habit of reminding people to do your own due diligence! Research both iLearningGlobal reviews and Success University reviews.

Hit The ‘TWEET’ Button Now =>

“There is a leader in most people. It depends on whether the person wants to take on the responsibility of being a leader, as to whether or not they will be a leader.”

This is a quote from my book I am currently writing. I know I should wait to put my book out before sharing this, but sometimes there are nuggets that I just HAVE to share as soon as possible! This is one of them!

Leadership plays a pivotal part in day to day life! I have been asked several times, “Can people develop their leadership skills?” and “can people who are really shy learn to be out going?” The answer is simply, and emphatically ‘YES!!!’ The personal development industry is currently worth over $100 Billion! There are so many books on leadership and self development out there it is hard to know where to start.

In order to develop my own leadership skills I forced myself into circumstances I was uncomfortable with! Literally forced! I was so self conscious that I would not even sing if I was in the car with the radio on full blast and the windows rolled up! Any guesses what I did? Well, I joined a choir! Did I get up on stage and sing in front of people? No, not at first, I was a terrible singer. I did go to EVERY practice every week and eventually they told me my heart was so into it that I made it in the choir!

I wanted to join the British Army. I wanted to go to the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and train to be an officer in the Army. It’s DEFINITELY not easy to get in! My first interview was 24 hours. We went out and did numerous tests, then went to bed and the next day carried on. After that we were told if we made it to the second round of interviews! Well, I got through to the next set interviews, which were three nights long and four days. After those interviews I was given the verdict, “Wait for 18 months.” They didn’t think I was ready to do the training yet. I was a shy little Zimbabwean straight out of school, straight off the air plane and looking a little shell shocked. I decided I would buy a tent and live in a camp site for three or four months with the assumption that if I could survive with whatever supplies I had, then I would definitely be able to survive with what the Army gave me. My supplies in a British winter: a 3 man dome tent too small to stand up in, a sleeping bag, and a gas stove (which once erupted in a ball of flames nearly engulfing my tent). You are probably wondering if I made it into Sandhurst? Well, I did. My point here is that I was not ready, but after a lot of work and perseverance, I made it! If you are not able to achieve what you want to do, then position yourself so that when you ARE able you can take it running at full speed!

With leadership the biggest step is being prepared to take the responsibility! From there you can start looking for responsibility, and volunteer for it. No matter how big or how small, it all helps. In order to ‘build’ your skills you need to make sure you are stretching yourself. I now get excited when I have to step out of my comfort zone to do something. I know that when looking at the bigger picture the more I have stepped out of my comfort zone the more I will be able to handle.

If you are serious about becoming a great leader, then step out of your comfort zone. Do everything with an attitude of excellence, and you will become a great and influential person!

(This article is also on article sites- where it refers to my blog- you are ON my blog)

So you have decided to start a business! Good for you! But where should you start. As you are reading this article you have made great decision to look towards network marketing. You couldn’t have made a better decision given the current economical climate. MLM is low risk with a chance of high return. The next decision you need to make is which company to get involved in. If you are already in MLM but are battling in your current business then make sure you go over these questions honestly with yourself! Before I get into too much depth, building a home business is hard work- but it should be fun. I love building my business, I’m passionate about it, and I am consistent on a daily basis!

The Product
What do you want to associate your name with? There are some fantastic people who have done really well who say the product does not matter. I beg to differ, it does! When I associate my name with something I need to trust it and be passionate about it! There are so many different opportunities why waste your time with something you do not like to do.

Competition
What is the competition like? I am not trying to knock any company here, so please do not take this the wrong way- but there always seems to be a new berry coming out to make another healthy drink. There is so much competition out there but success is still being made by those who work hard at it. Health and nutritional products also have tough completion. Personally, I went to a company who has no competition in this industry. I’m not here to advertise this company, if you would like to know more then feel free to visit my blog. Having no competition appeals to me- so make sure you do your due diligence when checking the company and competition!

Compensation plan
How do you want to be paid. There are many different kinds of compensation plans available. A lot of people get started like plans that ‘spill over’ so those at the bottom get money for the work done by those at the top. I’m not a fan of this. I like to control my own business, build my frontline, and place people as and when I see fit. It is very important for you to financially structure your business so you are stable before you start helping others.

Training
Training is very important. Especially if you are looking to get started, or move because you know you are more passionate about something else. Your upline is responsible for you getting trained. They should be able to tell you what training the company has to offer and good places to start. Likewise, YOU are going to be in someone’s upline too- so you need to familiarize yourself with the available training.

Strategy
Getting started does not mean you work as and when you feel like it! Consistency is THE key! Doing the right things day in and day out IS vital. It’s better to spend one hour a day than 7 hours each Saturday. A commitment I made to myself when starting was that I would not approach everyone I knew! I had a lot of preconceived ideas about the industry, but as I was so passionate about my product I went for it. You’re probably asking how I am building my business without approaching everyone I know, well, the internet is an amazing tool! People I know are seeing my success and are coming to me. The internet in itself allows you to use a system called attraction marketing that allows you to advertise in a way that makes your system look attractive and have people come to you! You may be saying, “Well, I’m not that good on computers”, well, this is definitely not a one size fits all! You need to find the specific strategy that suits you. Maybe your best strategy is going and speaking to everyone you know! There are so many different strategies to use, you might as well start where your strengths are based and move into profit more quickly! If you are unsure, then please visit my blog where you can find my email address and contact details and just get hold of me.

Established?
Do you want to be part of an established company? I did not! The reason being that if you are involved in a company at an early stage then you are more likely to do really well if the company survives the first 2 years. You will hear a lot of people telling you that you most companies fail within their first 2 years. You hear this more often when someone is trying to recruit you in their 7 year old company. If you do want to get involved in a new company MAKE SURE you take a look at who is backing it!

I recently put up a post on Facebook that went simply, “There is a narrow line between fear and excitement. It is up to you which side you walk on, you can choose to be fearful, or you can choose to be excited.” This got a lot of feedback on Facebook so that it was worth a blog post.

Although this may be blatantly obvious, we sometimes need to just be reminded that WE make the decision. There is often a lot of debate on whether or not we control our emotions. This ‘quote’ above came out of something currently with in my own life. My wife and I are expecting our first baby. Sometimes we think to ourselves, “what have we got ourselves into”, and other times we are excited beyond belief. I was sitting one day thinking about this and I knew that the decision was up to me. You may think, “This is a very exciting situation, but it is not the same for my circumstances.” Well, believe me, this is not the only time I’ve applied the ‘decision making’ process to my emotions. Granted it is very difficult to go from sad to happy, but it just takes more practice. Pretty soon you will be able to go from sad to ecstatic. It is contagious too. You can go from sad to filling a whole room with ecstatic people!

There are certain things you can do to condition yourself to be able to change your emotions for the better. Another recent post on Facebook and twitter I said that we should all become more charismatic. Someone asked the question how. Well, doing these simple things will allow you to become more charismatic and by doing so, change your emotions becoming happier.

Steve Siebold speaks about the ‘Rate of Vibration’ (ROV). The rate of vibration is measured by your energy, enthusiasm, confidence, belief, and clarity. The average ROV is around 200 (I’m not too sure exactly how it is calculated, but that is the end figure). Top sales earners have an ROV around 700-800! You can improve your ROV!

Improving ROV:
Energy- get plenty of sleep. Red Bull or coffee does not have a day long effect!
Enthusiasm- listen to your favorite music.
Belief- associate with people with world class beliefs (in my case I joined iLearningGlobal and get a daily dose- make sure you do something to get your beliefs up!)
Clarity- read your vision DAILY!

Improving your ROV will increase your mood daily. Within time when you are upset you will only have to think of ‘that’ favorite song and your emotions will shift!

Leave your comments and let me know what you do to change your emotions when you are down. (comfort eating is NOT recommended!)

I’m going to be quite frank and to the point here. I don’t believe in the value of a New Years Resolution. I’m all for people making them, as long as the stick to them, but I’m not big on making them myself. New Years Resolutions are simply goals. Making them once a year is not effective enough. I live my life making ‘New Years Resolutions’ almost daily! I’m constantly setting and adjusting my goals, big or small. It’s amazing how many people I’ve spoken to who have mentioned that in the New Year they will start something new. I think to myself, why not start NOW.

I’m an entrepreneur and love it! In the New Year so many people are going to make the decision to finally start working towards their goals of financial freedom. They are going to be looking for businesses to join and get started. You could very well be one of them. Or you could be set up already and reap the rewards. Now, I don’t care if you join me in my business, or someone else in their business. There are so many fantastic business opportunities out there you are bound to find something you are passionate about! I know I did!! You have now got only a few days to get set up with your home business before the New Years Resolution rush hits. I’d much rather have my business available for people to join in that rush than be part of the rush. So get started!

Sometimes it will just be nice to know where you are going in life. It could be quite relaxing to know that you are going to have smooth travelling for a while; it could be nice to prepare yourself if you are going to be heading down a bumpy road. But life is not like this. When you take a drive during the daylight you can see for miles and miles, where is the adventure? Sure it’s nice to take a road trip and look at everything around you, but life is not like driving in the daylight.

No, life is like driving at night, when its pitch black out and you cannot see 2 feet outside your side windows, and you can only see 150 feet in front of you. You may know where you want to end up, but you’re on a journey now there is nothing you can do to increase your vision, so just enjoy the ride!

One of the main things you will notice about travel is that you are, most of the time, moving forward. Every now and then you will head down a gravel road, or get stuck in a blizzard. The blizzard could get so bad that you may have to pull over until visibility gets a bit better. When this happens in life, make sure you pull over! Take some time out, and do not burn out! Every now and then when travelling you see a deer staring into your head lights standing in the middle of the road. As horrible as it is to say, the safest thing is to not swerve out the way, you need brace yourself and hit that deer. To many times people have swerved to avoid the deer and they and all the passengers do not make it. When this happens in life you need to make sure that you do what you can to make sure you keep your loved ones safe. Do whatever you can to protect them.
In life you will come across blizzards, and hazards, and gravel roads, just make sure you never put your vehicle into reverse and end up where you have just come from. Always look forward.

If you want to be a great achiever in life you need to focus extra hard on your success. You need great passengers in your car, and believe me, they are easy to find! I for one love going on entrepreneurial journeys with people and helping them reach their success, so if you can’t find anyone to travel with, just drop me an email! It is pivotal you surround yourself with likeminded success oriented people! It is important you start moving! Another great annotation I love is a sail ship cannot turn unless it is moving and has wind in its sails! So get moving, too many people decide one day when! When what? When you have time, money, help? Those are no longer valid excuses, the moment you say “one day when” you may as well forget about it, because that will probably never happen!

Take a stand! Start your journey today! Get the wind in your sails! Put your foot on the accelerator! Just DO something!

There are certain people we come across in life that we have no idea what they did to gain the respect and admiration of everyone else. The kind of people that when they go to a city to do a talk, it sells it really quickly. The kind of people that when they decide to build a business it takes off from the first moment. Many people wish to become like those people but then they do not do anything about it.

Mary Manin Morrissey puts this in a fantastic light! If you are watching Fox News and want to change the channel, you want to watch something different, the stock markets, the weather, maybe a comedy, what do you do? You pick up the remote and change the channel. You are actually DOING something to change your current situation. Life is no different, if you are a teacher, a fireman, unemployed, whatever it is, if you want to change your career, become an entrepreneur, or change anything in your life then you need to physically do something to get your circumstances moving in a different direction.

You may ask what this has to do with being someone inspirational. Well, if you change your channel often enough to position yourself in circumstances you WANT to be in, then after a number of years you will be that inspirational person. Brian Tracy didn’t wake up one morning as a bestselling author. Tony Robbins didn’t wake up one morning selling out some of the biggest venues in the world! They made decisions over time that got them there!

If you make one active decision today to move you from where you are to where you want to go, you WILL inspire a handful of people in your circle of influence. You will increase your circle of influence. As I said moments ago, if you continue to position yourself your circle of influence will continue to grow and grow and grow, until you are inspiring the thousands, tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands, and even the millions! It all starts with the simple decisions- “Today, I am going to start…(school, my own business in the evenings, exercise, ……)” This list is endless.

Be THAT person! Become Inspirational! Take your future into your hands!
