With nearly 4 days remaining, the boxing fight fitting Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao and Joshua Clottey is intensifying. The fight day is slated on March 13, 2010 (March 14, 2010 in Manila) with the two boxing fighters slugging it out at the new and big Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Joshua Clottey is a not so popular fighter so I have to do a little research to find out more about him. What I found out was a video series produced by HBO Sports entitled Pacquiao vs Clottey Live: Road to Dallas.

Another thing that I’m up to recently is I just participated in a Twitter Race? What the heck is a “Twitter Race”? Okay, let me explain.

John Arry Arce, known as @johnxarce in Twitter invited me and the rest of the Philippines Top 15 Twitterers (just an estimate) based on Twitterholic to go after the top spots based on followers count. I was not at the Top 10 at that time. Here’s a quick view of his tweet back then. It’s written in our Filipino language which translates to “Bro, you might be my closest rival for Top 5 to 10 spots. So bro, you want to race, just for fun?”

Here are the racers who participated in the race – and it’s still on-going. I highlighted those who are actively participating. Please click the picture for a bigger view.

As you can see, I’m ahead of the race at the No. 3 spot but no lead is comfortable. Anyone of the racers is capable of pulling up big surprises. The Top 2 tweeps are running their own race – going after the coveted No. 1 spot. Though we are far behind these two, we are slowly eating up their leads.

So that’s what I called the “Twitter Race”. Isn’t it fun? It’s like racing through Formula 1 without driving a high speed car.

You can do it too. Find someone in your area (Twitter location) to race and check your rankings in Twitterholic.com. If you love to compete this is for you! I bet you will have a lot of fun. @LyndsayCabildo (the one at No. 4) even declared that she will just watch us after @johnxarce sent the invite but later on silently joined the race and is now having fun.

After a year of shying away from writing for a personal blog, I’m now back in harness. What prompt me to put up this blog? Well, I can name you some reasons:

1. My social network is growing and I need a home for my newfound friends to get to know me more. To date, I already have 101 Facebook friends and 11,607 Twitter followers. The number of my Facebook friends pales in comparison with my Twitter followers as I am not yet focusing much of my time there yet.

2. If you know me personally, you will notice that I don’t talk a lot. But that’s quite opposite online. I can talk, through writing, whatever is on my mind. I’m not a prolific writer though.

3. I’m now employed as a writer/blogger and I need to sharpen my writing skills to provide the best service that I can give to my clients.

4. I am a bookworm just like some other people and after being exposed to so many books, I think I want to write my own book someday.

5. I love sharing what I know and blogging is probably the best way to go with the kind of technology we have right now.

6. I want to influence people with whatever advocacy I am supporting to make a difference in the society.

Okay, so what can you expect to see on this blog? Well, I will be covering a lot of topics until I decided to create a separate blog for it. These include the following:

- entrepreneurship, financial matters, and financial freedom
- management, leadership, and dealing with people
- social entrepreneurship
