Ted Barris, Author, Broadcaster and Professor presented an evening program describing his book about Vimy. Comments made after the program included many where the members were quite taken with the method in which he described the process leading up to the battle at Vimy on April 12-16, 1916. His physicality allowed you to be drawn into the description he was creating and it became easier to imagine how it was and how the days progressed in those few terrible days of the Great War. His patriotism and pride of the Canadian forces is very moving. He has made a lifetime of Remembrance through his documentations of thousands of veterans, books, pilgrimages and programs such as the one he bestowed upon our Society last Monday. Thank you Ted.

Our April 2011 meeting was very entertaining. The speaker none other than our own member Norman McMullen who brought a fine selection of his Royal Commemoratives for everyone to enjoy. He spilled the beans on little known “secrets” of past incidents at Royal weddings and Royal faux pas that were very funny. Some of the more odd commemoratives were a hit. Thank you for all your efforts and also a thank you to Kevin Dark for helping to prepare the special presentation - just in time to prime everyone for Prince William’s and Kate Middleton’s April wedding.
