I am back ! Back ! Back ! Hmm..gosh! I realise its already year 2010 March 26th !!! Roughly 3 months have passed. Sorry guys and girls out there for waiting on my latest posts in my blog.

Year 2010 = new job + new car + new DLSR lenses + new clothes. Many things i have done including my birthday party at Skybar KL. In terms of photography, i will just compile the photos which i have shot for the past 5 months. I would say its my best set of photos collection during my photoshooting experience.

To all people out there waiting for the countdown at several KL spots in Malaysia, happy brand new year 2010 ! The year of 2010 is TIGER and i am certainly one of them..RAWR !! Any new year resolutions??? If not, better start thinking of one....

The year 2009 has come to an end with an exciting trip to New Zealand with family and over here you can see me standing at the top of the snowy mountain on a mission...........

PC Fair Exhibition 2009

It was my first time going to PC Fair 2009 held in KLCC. Normally i wouldn't go to such crowded places unless i intend to get something from the fair. Oh well, my photokaki invited me to go there for photo shooting and at the same time to check out some good deals from PC Fair.

Flash Photography

A flash photography workshop has been organized by Canon EOS Academy in collaboration with Lightshop Design in KLCC. It is FREE but is only limited to 30 people. A great opportunity which should not be missed by photographers regardless of amateur or professional.

This 3 hours workshop was aimed to expose us to world of flash photography from the strobist’s point of view. There were some theories on flash photography presented in interactive slides show and performing some demonstrations using studio lighting equipments such as reflectors, diffusers & honeycombs.

Light plays a great influence in photography. If u observe closely at the photo above, the one on the left side is a normal shot without light while the right side is a shot with lighting directed at the food from certain direction.

The speaker of this workshop was Joe Chan, a multi-talented photographer with 20 years of experience under his belt. He demonstrated his skills on food photography with flash and then flash photography on portraiture.

Here comes a beautiful model to assist in portraiture flash photography. After several demonstrations on pontrait photograhy, here is one of the creative lighting photograph on a model.

It was a amazing experience to attend such workshop. Thanks Canon for organizing such event and hope there will be more interesting photography events where our knowledge and skills on photography can be brushed up from time to time... :-p

Photography with a Passion

After you have seen a number of my posts in my blog here, u might start wondering HOW, WHY and WHAT makes me going into photography. Photography is an interest which you do it with passion. As most people would say " A photograph paints thousand of words".

This book is not that thick as you see in this photo but it contains the basic photography skills information you need to shoot regardless if you are using a digital camera or a DSLR. Although this book says that it only takes 21 days to guide you to become a professional photographer, a lot practice in photography is needed.

You can't find this book anywhere in Malaysia's bookstores as Canon is not selling this. After finished mastering the book, i began shooting my first picture.

MotoGP 2009 at Sepang

I got free Main Grandstand tickets by Canon Malaysia to watch MotoGP 2009 live at Sepang !!!!! It was my first experience to catch a glimpse of such glamorous event happening at Sepang circuit in Malaysia. I am praying for a hot weather instead of raining for that day. Sunday is the day i am waiting for and it's the final race of the main event.

This event was filled with various motorbikes on display at every booth with their pretty models trying to get the people attention.

You can get to try the MotoGP simulation as well.

And here goes the beautiful girls in green uniform trying to attract customers to buy their cigarettes.

Here is the entry to the main Grandstand to watch the racing from the starting grid.

At some booths, some girls were trying to persuade people to buy their motorbike magazines.

The main racing event started at 3.35pm instead of 3.00pm due to heavy rain. Gosh.. luckily the rain had stopped at around 3.15pm or else we gonna get bored sitting and waiting.

The worst thing that happened during the rain was the overflow rain water from the higher level of the ground that flows down the seats ! Certain seating areas were nearly flooded by water which forced people to move away.

Dramatic scenes happened during the race such as bikers falling off the bike suddenly. There was a live television screen telecast showing the race as well so we get to watch the bikers at every corner. The thunder sound of the motorbikes nearly broke my ear drums. I was not expecting such a loud noise produced by the motorbikes.

The race ended with the winner by Casey Stoner (Ducati Marlboro) followed by Dani Pedrosa (Honda) and the third place was Rossi (Fiat Yamaha)! The crowd chanted his Rossi's name to show our support. Rossi won the overall world class bike championship of the year 2009.

We left the grandstand immediately after the race hoping that we don't get catch in the jam as huge crowd will be packing back home.

BMA Outdoor Photo Shoot 2009

This is my first outdoor photo shoot. It was held in Bukit Jalil park. Lucky the photo shoot place is near to my house ! It has been a long time since i last been to that park for jogging. haha...

Each photographer who participate in this photography has to pay RM 15.00 each. Its worth paying this since it was my first outdoor shooting. MPO is the co-organizer for Model Outdoor (Casual) photography outing of BMA Model Search 2009. BMA stands for Broadwalk Modelling Academy. This academy is at ss15/4 subang. hmmm..i din't know such academy exist in Subang even though i have been studying in Sunway for nearly 5 years. Lol.

We were divided into small groups. Each group will focus into one model and after some time, each groups will swap models.

Her name is Mitra.

Her name is Wendy.

Her name is Mayc.

Her name is Rebecca.

One more model which i managed to take a shot was Michelle.

Before the photo shooting session ended, we had a group shot of the all the models involved and also the photographers include me. It was a great experience to participate in this outdoor photography. But one thing which frustrated me was the coordination of this event. Some groups only managed to shoot a few models. Before coming to this event, we had high hopes of shooting every models in our own creative ways. But anyway, there is nothing much we can do. Luckily the weather on that day was perfect for us to photograph ! ;)

Karaoke Session

It's has been while since i last sing karaoke. We went to Neway in Subang for karaoke with friends. During the university days, students like us would drop by the karaoke centre to sing out their hearts and minds after classes or after exams to release stress or just for relaxation.

This time, one of my friend was suggesting to go for karaoke at Neway in Subang since we have not been singing for some time. There were 9 of us and we managed to book a nice room for ourself.

You can imagine how big and grand of this room like a king palace from this photo. It's very comfortable and this room can occupy 20 persons possible.

I love the interior design and colour in this room especially the nice elegant plasma television hanging on the wall.

We have the lovely Germans who came to Malaysia for working purposes. They enjoyed the karaoke session here as much as we do. :)

Not forgetting that we have the pretty ladies who were great singers on that day.

And here's the group photo taken before the karaoke session ended. Oh well, two hours of singing are just nice, not too long and not too short. :-p

My Office Room

If you are curious of my workplace looks like, this shot below describe everything you are curious to know. It shows a nice comfortable seat to do my work in front of my high tech computer with the favourite songs playing though the speakers.

You might notice a photo of a model sticking on the wall which gives me inspiration and energy to think and refresh my eyes and mind. :-p

Lumix Star Search 2009

Lumix Panasonic organized an exhibition in Midvalley which was held for 3 days ( Friday, Saturday & Sunday) to promote their eco-friendly products which was to aim to save energy and water on earth. But that wasn't the plan i intended to go. It was the Lumix Star Search Grand Finale 2009 that attracted me! Lol..

Top 12 finalist were to compete in finals held at Midvalley Exhibition Centre. Along with this event, Panasonic organized a photography contest to showcase the best photography and win prizes which are worth RM 10,000. I took part in this contest for fun and tried my luck to get some best shots.

I came 2 hours earlier to grab the best spot to take photograph. Well, it's frustrating to shoot the girls especially when you had to stand behind the huge crowd if you don't get there earlier to shoot.

She burst into laughter at someone...

Finally, the lumix star search event begun! Here are the shots taken.........

Lunch Party in Office

Yummy ! It was a Friday and perhaps towards the end of the week, we planned to enjoy ourselves with good food. A small scale party was organized in my office during lunch hour. Such party happened only once a year. I am gonna make you hungry by posting up some delicious photos here !

During the eating session, we had photograph session with the engineers. We have the beautiful engineers ladies standing behind the tasty food.

Not forgetting myself as well in the lunch party too ! I managed to squeeze some time to take a picture with this cute engineer. hehehe....

Finally, a group shot was taken before everyone else do their own work before going home at 5.30pm. Oh well, the lunch party was great since they had planned this a day before the party.

Hmmm....what a tiring friday! But i am looking ahead to weekends soon ! hehehehe.....

Down to Malacca

Welcome to Malacca ! We made a day trip in one car down to Malacca. The weather was sunny but hot and humid. We went there for sightseeing, good food and photography as well ! Yeah....

It took us roughly 2 hours to reach malacca which is the historical city. The photo shown above is the malacca river.

We went straight to the big boat and explored around.

After the visit to the boat, we headed to visit A-Famosa. On the way to the fort, i encountered beautiful flowers and took a shot of them.

I have been here before many years ago. Probably the last time i came here was during a school trip years ago.

One of my friend told me to act such way and he took a shot of me that way ! Can u imagine what am i doing?

Out of boredom suddenly, this shot was taken. Hmm...

My friend, Tim, was promoting this place which has good chicken rice ball. So we headed to the street and hunt for the best chicken rice balls fur lunch as we were getting so hungry.

Look at this photo above ! We got to queue up for some time before we can get a place to sit down. I don't remember this restaurant name but it is located a shop away from the Chung Wah restaurant. This restaurant that we had chicken rice ball was rated the second best rice ball in Malacca through the internet.

The chicken rice balls looks yummy in this photo ! haha !

Another good food not forgotten is the nice cooling cendol! It is nice to have them during the hot weather.

For dinner, we had satay celup which is another famous food in Malacca. It's similar to a food called Lok Lok. You will need to dip the raw food into the satay curry and wait for it to be cooked. Well, the taste is not that bad.

How I spend my Raya holidays

Hari Raya holidays has arrived and it was long holidays in Malaysia. Raya holidays is the Malay festival celebrated every year here. I went back to my hometown in Raub Pahang. There was nothing much to do over there but just to relax my mind and body. Luckily i brought my camera to shoot whatever that comes.

These soft toys were played by babies in my hometown. Since there was nothing much i can do there, i took these soft toys and arranged them for photo shooting from a certain angle.

Normally the baby is put to sleep in his hammock swinging bed.

Then he wakes up from his hammock bed feeling refreshing with his big cute eyes. He is only a couple of months old and is not afraid of people around him.

The sun was about to come out from the hills. This shot was taken early morning. I lived on the higher ground level which was why i could take this photography of the hills and skies.

The weather was perfect sunny with clear blue sky on that day. I have taken my own time to unwind during the holidays before going back to the city and back to work again.

Broga Hike

Broga hill is a famous place for hiking, jogging and photography. Not many people know about this place well. If you are not sure what and where is broga, search in wikipedia. Broga is located on the border of Selangor and Negeri Sembilan in Malaysia about 50 kilometres from Kuala Lumpur and approximately 33 kilometres from Seremban (capital of Negeri Sembilan).

Four of us decided to depart early morning to watch the sunrise but unfortunetly it was drizzling at our place called Sunway. Crossing our fingers, we prayed that the rain would not fall once we reached Broga Hill.

This is the entry to Broga Hill. At the base of the hill, you will encounter lots of oil palms trees.
We started hiking up the hill. There are pathways for people to walk up and along the way, you will see tall bushes.

There were 4 peaks of hills. We firstly hike up to the first peak of Broga. You really need a good stamina and good shoes to walk up. The pathway gets slippery when it rains. Remember to bring a walking stick when you hike up to prevent yourself rolling down the steep hill. To those who have height phobia, do not climb up unless you feel curious to do so.
The view at the top is absolutely fantastic ! I would say it is worth to hike up and camp up there for the night. You will feel the calmness of the surroundings and the winds blowing at your face.
The green grasses are nice and relaxing to the eyes. It's like being in the countryside. People at the top of the hill will be singing their countryside songs, photo shooting and relaxing on the rocks.
This shot was taken from the first peak of the hill. I think the second and third peaks of the hills are much higher from the first one because me and my friends did not manage to hike up the rest of the peaks as the weather turned bad.

We spend most of our time at the first peak enjoying the peace and scenery.

Looks like i made it to the top of the hill at last !! But it's only the first peak.....

We decided to walk down the hill since the weather turned cloudy and drizzling. It was not the best day we had and we will be back to conquer all the 4 peaks of Broga next time. As we reached the base of the hill, i spotted this green MyVi car which matched the oil palm trees colour. Haha !

We were so hungry at that time and immediately drove to Kajang town for its famous delicious satays! You will find various types of satays like fish satays, chicken satays, beef satays, duck satays, mutton satays and the list goes on. The best part of this trip was the food and not so much of the hiking activity!

KLPF 2009

Kuala Lumpur Photography Festival (KLPF) is once back again to town. It was held in Midvalley Exhibition Centre. I got to know this through a website www.photomalaysia.com . This website keeps us informed of the latest news on photography and events that will happen around Malaysia. One of the events held during the KLPF which attracted me was the Miss Chinese Cosmos photography contest organized by Canon Malaysia.

I was excited and at the same time felt nervous taking part in this competition. Many professional photographers, either Canon or Nikon camera users had already prepared their cameras to shoot.

The show begun at 11am and the contestants started their walking parade. The ladies would just do cat walking while the photographers would be pressing their shuttle to get their best shooting of the beautiful ladies. With my fine tuning of my own camera, i wasted no time to shoot every single beautiful ladies on stage.

Phiew ! I was glad that i managed to take some good shots of them. Once the show ended, i decided to take a walk around the exhibition hall. Surprisingly, i noticed a group of photographers gathered at a small area surrounding a girl. I was curious and went towards to the crowd. My jaws dropped and immediately took out my camera to shoot.

It seems that Tamron are smart enough to use this kind of marketing skills to attract people into buying their lenses by having Tamron girls to stand in front of the booth.

Indeed, it was a great experience to capture such event especially the pretty girls there. I wonder how much the Tamron girls are paid to work as a promoter.

My Graduation 5th Sept 2009

The biggest moment that i have been waiting for 4 years has finally arrived ! Yeah..4 years have passed so fast. My graduation was held in Sunway Ballroom hotel at 5.30pm. Ahh..so late..the morning session at 11am was for graduate students in business. Monash organized this graduation in 2 sessions because they cant fit all of his students in the hall. Anyway, it was a relieve for me that i am done with my studies. Here comes the working life ! What you study in university might not be applied much in your working life. Just study for the sake of the cert laa..LoL.

The hotel was packed with fresh graduates !

These bears aint cheap because they took an aeroplane from melbourne to come here !

These beautiful ladies want this shot to be printed in the front page of the newspaper. I don't think that would happen so i just post it in my blog. haha !.

Once the graduation ceremony finished, i headed out of the hotel to take this shot above. The architecture design of the hotel is simply elegant ! I just love this shot ! :)

KL Night View

To view the entire KL city including KLCC and KL Tower, just drop by at Ampang Lookout Point. This place is known as mini Genting. Families and couples would love this scenery from the top of the hill. There are also some restaurants at the top of the hill. I have chosen to go up during the night to capture the spectacular scenery of KL. I have shot several good photos here.

This first photo above is a panaromic shot which combines 3 photos together. Most couples spend their romantic time enjoying this night view.

Hmm...this last photo above looks like i was having my own thoughts . Maybe i was enjoying the calmness and the breeze up there while admiring the night view. I would love to come back there once again some other time.

The beginning of blogging

I have never thought of starting my own blog. Never taught of wanting to blog either. I have no idea of why i should blog? I have always wondered why people around me will blog. Many reasons i have heard from them.

But anyway, i am not gonna be hardcore blogger here. Just blog for fun ! Today is already Friday and i can't wait for a long weekend holidays ( Its Raya holidays ). I am thinking of just keep my blog as simple as possible for now.

Finally, blogging will be another new set of skill to learn now. :-)
