Christians Held to a Higher Standard

My faith as a Christian is often ignored or blemished by the main stream media and in turn over looked by the government. Why do I say this you ask? Just turn on your television or just listen to your local FM radio station. Most of the information you receive on these publications is against everything I believe in and stand for. Where is the Christian friendly entertainment?

I frequently contemplate whether this country has completely turned their back on God. Each instance you see a Christian or so called evangelist in the news he or she is brought out as a hypocrite and should be hung for some transgression or crime that they have committed. Do you think a non-Christian that committed the same offense would be crushed by every major news network in the United States? In some cases, i.e. adultery or predominantly homosexual unfaithfulness as a liberal politician, they would be applauded and heralded in the public eye as a hero for equality.

Remember what Jesus said in John chapter 8 verse 7. When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, "If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her." This woman was caught in adultery and would have been stoned but nobody condemned her because none of them were without sin. Is anyone currently on this earth without sin that would like to condemn any person?

Does this mean I condone the sins these people commit? Of course not! I denounce their actions and believe they should pay their price to society according to the fullest extent of the law but pray they will find the path that leads to eternal life. We should not judge others because the extent that we condemn them we will also be judged by the One that matters. I know that is not something I want because their would be no chance for me.

Can I blame the media for the double standard? Not really because I think we as Christians should be held to a higher standard. We represent our "Father" in all our actions, good or bad, in the sight of the world. What the media does not want to admit is that we are only humans and will fall into temptation just like anyone else; but we do have an edge because we can call on the Lord. He will get us through those tough times.

Will the hypocrisy of the media and general public towards Christians in this country ever change? Probably not; we have something they don’t understand. We have assurance, though nobody can physically see or touch, through faith in Christ that we are children of The Almighty, are loved, and protected through life as well as death (which has been conquered). Everyone could have this if they except the Son and obey His commands. All praise and glory to God!

Patriotism, Morality, and God Taken out of Schools and Political Correctness put in Place

Some recent actions have trampled on the freedoms, rights, and beliefs we have as Americans; especially in our school systems. For example, as of Wednesday November 8th Orange Coast College’s student trustees will no longer recognize the Pledge of Allegiance. One board member stated that the pledge inspires nationalism, violates the separation between church and state with the phrase "under God," and is irrelevant to the business of student government.

Point taken but I disagree with the reference to the pledge inspiring nationalism; I would say the pledge encourages patriotism. Alright I disagree with everything you said and implied. You are mislead and I will explain.

I suppose the so called “separation between church and state” that you are referring to is Amendment I of the U.S. Constitution which states that “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.” According to the phrase "under God" the Congress made no law regarding an institution of religion but only acknowledged as did our founding fathers that God exists and is our creator.

As for the pledge being “irrelevant to the business of student government”; get off your pedestal, you are attending a community college that happens to be funded by the federal government which happens to employ our military and by the way many men and women have died to defend this nation and believe in the ideas the Pledge of Allegiance and United States flag embody.

After all this, Coast Community College district spokesperson commented “They run their own show, so to speak.” Where is the adult guidance to the youth of this country? Somebody take a stand for what is right, good, and moral. Has political correctness enamored everyone to the point no one will speak out against idiocy? I will speak out though my voice is small.

Today in this country people do not recognize the importance of the decisions we make in government, school systems, and especially judges. With each decision we make the country greater or totally incapacitated for our children and generations to come. Are people so arrogant that we believe we are superior to those who came before us? Is this human nature or is the elitist portion of society so deeply entrenched?

Glenn Beck Iraq, The Real Story

I give praise and glory to God for the men and women serving our country in Iraq and Afghanistan. Everyday we hear the bad news against our soldiers and the War on Terror. Finally the side of Iraq you probably have not seen yet.

It's a shame that the mainstream media does not show the good being done in Iraq. The men and women of the military and the Iraqi people put their lives on the line everyday for freedom and almost never get recognized by the liberal media. Let the people rejoice because democracy is just around the corner for Iraq providing we the people don’t forget the good that can come from something as horrific as war.

Democrats are not About Getting Even

Nancy Pelosi came out Wednesday supposedly seeking bipartisan support by saying "Democrats are not about getting even." according to the USA Today. What exactly is that supposed to mean? I did not know the Republicans did anything for the Dems to think about getting even? Unless Speaker of the House Pelosi (that sounds appalling) is referring to the GOP holding the majority for the last twelve years which I believe, possibly were elected by the voters.

What is the reason for not getting even? So, is she talking about voters that are too ignorant and mistakenly voted for Republicans? That could be probable because Nancy Pelosi considers her far left San Francisco values (which have been proven to entirely disagree with common American principles according to recent election history) should/will be widespread among Americans.

That is feasible but could we look at it from a different point of view. Is she referring to the birth right of liberals to have supreme power and showcase their elite intelligence to the rest of the world? For example Pelosi will say our government needs to mimic the UN appeasement philosophy and give our rights under her control because the elitist always know best and will save the world from total devastation. That is part of it but still is not the only reason for such comments.

Maybe she is referring to the lack of the Republicans to seek the approval of liberal Democrats. Wait a second; is there anyone in the Democrat party more divisive than Representative Pelosi? There has not been another minority leader that controlled their party’s vote and divided the house more often than Nancy Pelosi within the last 30 years. Yeah, but still not quite there.

I don't believe Democrats are about getting even, either, but are out to destroy conservatives and Christianity values. I think all these motives took a role in the reason she said what she did. That is why we have to pay attention and interpret the true meaning of what liberals utter and take nothing that comes out of their mouth for face value. We all know the liberal agenda which they are unwillingly to publicly announce. God bless you and announce from the roof tops what is right.

Pity on Ohio

The conservatives in Ohio are out in the cold this morning as with most of the nation. You ask, why do you say this? I as a conservative went out and voted and my voice was heard; this is what you reply. I say that your voice was not heard all you did was condemn the Republican Party i.e. Kenneth Blackwell and Mike DeWine (granted not a true conservative but a great deal more conservative than his Democrat challenger Sherrod Brown) and empowered the left wing for the sins of Bob Taft and the lack of his conservative principles.

Take a look at what we have done for ourselves on the most important issue of our time; The War on Terror. If you agree with Sherrod Brown “From the beginning, I have been an outspoken critic of the Iraq War. The way President Bush misled our country into war was a disgrace to our democracy.” or saying “Before we went to war, I read letters from veterans and their families against the war on the House floor. I drafted a letter signed by 130 of my colleagues to demand the President respect the UN process and let the inspectors work.” Then you are probably not conservative and would have voted for a Democrat anyway.

I will translate what Senator elect Brown is saying just in case you could not decipher. I am against the Iraq war but support the troops. President Bush lied to you (which I have never done in my life) and should be impeached, so he could have thousands of troops murdered and raid the Iraqi oil fields while raising oil prices to put millions in his own back pocket. Before we went to war, I read letters from 2 veterans (John Kerry and John Murtha) against the war (the Vietnam War) on the House floor. I called Michael Moore to get his thoughts on a letter that was written by my staff and forged 129 of my colleagues signatures plus mine for 130 to turn full control of our country over to UN. The same UN process that failed multiple times before but this time it would have been different.

Now that you should have a better understanding of the liberal idealism and the hatred for our President. Are the political ideas of Ohioans the same as the far left wing of the Democratic party? I certainly hope that they are not. I know that I am frustrated with the Republicans spending and lack of attempting to secure our borders but I can not hold the misdeeds of a few so called conservatives over the head of the entire party. How can you judge the GOP on the lack of morality and conservative backbone of a few and come to the rationality of voting against Republicans (that have not commited the acts) or not voting at all to teach them a lesson? If you want to teach the GOP a lesson you should vote more conservative not more liberal. Tell me if this makes sense to you; I will show you how morally wrong you are by choosing someone who is further from my moral standards!

You believe that your conservative values were not displayed by the Republicans! How much less will they be displayed through the liberal values of the Democratic counterparts? Shame on you; I mean shame on us, Ohio! I am a resident of the “once great” state of Ohio as much as I don’t want to admit it. Now that we have made a big mistake I pray that we get back to our optimistic conservative philosophy and vote the issues instead of voting out of anger.
