Misled & misleader

Times and again, the modern days civilization has been the big book of misled chapters, just in front of our eyes. We, a way or other, are misled by our society and various aspects of our society.

We are misled right from womb inside to last breath and even after death. We are supplied with what is unfavorable for us. We are cheated time and again through the weapon of modern education, occupation, politics, and technologies and so on. We are searching for happiness but happiness never enters the screen of our life except than the big big advertisements of happiness in the screen of Television. We want to quench the thirst of pure love but given the piles of deserted water containers consisting of hatred atmosphere. We are hated but never loved. We are obliged to memorize insensible formulas but never the true education. We are shown the green grass of level exceeding salaries but hit by the dry grass of tiredness and losses. Our parents are exploiting us and our teachers are exploiting us. Then what to talk of these modern days’ politicians? Actually we are misled. This is the bitter truth of present day’s civilization.

What is its remedy? Of course such dry civilization should be turned by 180. Otherwise no hope remains for real prosperity and humanity.

Sick City : Sex City

Sex is the theme of procreation. Procreation means begetting the offspiring. It is the natural process. Not only human beings but animal also procreate and enjoy the sex life in bodily level. Anyway sex is also a form of bodily pleasure but when we run after bodily pleasure only our life is sure to go in vain.

Scriptures sanction the regulated sex life. When sex is uncontrolled it is more or less the animal propensity. Scriptures warn us to remain untouched by such type of sex life. But nowadays our society has been entirely centred for sex. Sex has been the only one theme of present days civilization.

Nowadays our cities and villages are sick of sex. Human beings are behaving just like animals. Sex has stepped down to road from room. People are starting the business of sex and earning money. People are feeling the boundaries of marriage too narrow and are broking its wall to enjoy animalistic way of sex outside marriage. In the name of modernisation sex abuse has been increasing day by day. Intimate relationships come to an end just because of sexual affairs. Similarly life threatening diseases are spreading in our society at unmeasurable speed. Our city has really been sick of sex.

Treatment : Sex is good when it is regulated but unregulated sex life is the major cause for distruction of good civilization. It is extremely important to correct this misdirected ( sex-centred) civilization.

Devotee's commitment

Recently , I was fortunate to learn about devotees commitment needed to spiritualize life fully from one of the devotees of lord Krishna. Which are:
New year commitment (for/by Krishna's devotees)
Ok! lets make the commitment.
1) First of all , we have to have some desires for making our life meaningful. Our life is sure to go in vain if we spend our life just like animals : just (eating , mating , sleeping and defending). Above than it, Human life is important because we are gifted with higher intelligence . Lets make the commitment to use our intelligence for exploring our true identity as eternal soul and hence the eternal servant of supreme personality of Godhead Sri Krishna.
2) Lets make the commitment to utilize our time for reading authentic spiritual books such as Bhagavad-Gita. ( * Srila Prabhupada's book are obviously authentic).
3) Lets make the commitment to give maximum possible time for the association of devotees.
4) Lets make the commitment to give sufficient time for chanting the holy name of God .
5) Lets make the commitment to serve Krishna via temple service and so on.
6) Lets make the commitment to spread Krishna's message at least in our place.
7) Lets make the commitment to serve the spiritual master with full potency.

Doing these activities this year will be fully Krishna conscious one . This is a must for the devotees of Krishna.

Manufactured gods (In the factory )

Nowadays we come to hear about many gods. They are claiming to be the incarnation of Godhead. Some of them impose themselves and some by blind followers but never by authentic scriptures. We call them by the name of ‘Manufactured gods’.

Those manufactured gods even don’t know why they are in this material world. Scriptures say that main reason for being situated in this world is the misuse of our independence and our wish to become just like Krishna, the Supreme proprietor. When we wanted to adopt proprietorship, Krishna send us in this material world for the same and we are just struggling to be the proprietor of this material world. But, we are in no way the proprietor. That’s why when we try to be the master of this material atmosphere we are no longer in spiritual platform but always in the clutches of Illusion (Maya). Those manufactured gods whose Godliness is not supported by authentic scriptures and authority are to be understood as the outcome of Maya, the illusion.

Those manufactured gods should be rejected by intelligent groups of human society and their false ego should be flashed out. If anybody declares him to be God and has not scriptural proof to support his declaration then we should always be ready to disclose his DOG-Hood (which he posses actually) BUT not GOD-hood (which he does not possess in reality).

Dhamja Festival of Devotion

As Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, the combined manifestation of Supreme Personality of Godhead Krishna and Radha, had predicted his name to be heard and chanted in every corners of the world, Prabhupada’s ISKCON has been launching genuine Krishna Consciousness movement worldwide for the same. Renowned by the name of Hare Krishna movement worldwide, this Krishna consciousness movement has been slowly and slowly progressing in Nepal as well. Having its central temple in Budhanilkantha Kathmandu for Nepal and its city centre at Tripureshwor (VISA) ISKCON have been conducting Harinam Sankritan, the congregational chanting the holy name of Krishna all over Nepal. From 1^st to 3^rd Magh the program was held in Baglung as well.

In Dhamja VDC of Baglung district its popularity has grown up rapidly. There are many devotees. Devotees chant Hare Krishna Mahamantra (Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare) regularly and follow four regulative principles of religion. Sponsored by devotees themselves (Especially HG Bimal Prabhu and HG Subash Prabhu), the program was conducted in Majhkatera village. Kritan, Prasadam distribution, Bhagavad-Gita class and cultural programs were the main attraction of the festival. Devotees distributed the Prasadam , the sacred food to the villagers as well. Following days Sankritan was held in Laxmi Higher Secondary school which is the only higher secondary school of VDC. Students were really appreciating and taking part in the Sankritan. Then devotees team conducted in other villages of the district as well. Finally they not only did Sankritan but also distributed Bhagavad-Gita in Baglung and Beni .

Forgetfulness:The Major Symptom

Disease is examined and treated on the basis of symptom it carries. When we talk of tuberculosis we examine, confirm and treat it on the basis of the symptom it carries such as blood on sputum, cough and so on. Among them blood on sputum may be considered to be major symptom. Similarly, when we talk of this age, Kali Yuga its major symptom may be summarized in a single word ‘forgetfulness’.

In previous ages, as per Vedic scriptures people had very sharp intelligence and memory. They could memorize the large and large verses just on the basis of one time hearing it. Thus they preserved the whole Vedic scriptures due to their high memory. Nowadays we can hardly memorize some tiny information despite of our continuous effort to do so.

What’s your good name sir? My name is (…..). A person replies in the question of another. They talk for a while and go away. One the way the person forgets what was the name of the person whom he had asked his name just few minutes ago. Right? Do you agree? Does it happen to you as well? If yes you also fall in my category. What to talk of you and me only but entire human society is non-different than you and me.

Similarly, we cannot remember what we studied just a minute ago. Also, we cannot remember what exactly our childhood was like. We cannot re-experience the moment when we sucked milk from our mother’s breast. There is no doubt that we forget the things. What to talk of other we have forgotten our own identity. We identity the bundle of muscle and bones to be our identity which we are not at all as that meets in destruction in due course of time. We have forgotten that we are not this body but an eternal soul which never dies and gets birth. We live eternally and we are actually the eternal part and parcel of Supreme lord. We are his eternal servant but we have forgotten it. Vedic scriptures remind us frequently of the same thing. Actually forgetfulness has been the major symptom of this Dark Age and we have to overcome it by totally surrending to the lotus feet of Krishna.

The Actual Identity

This is my hand; this is my leg ; this is my head , these are my legs and this is my body but who am I ? who is actually saying my? Have you ever analyzed in this way? It is very easy to identify own true self after analyzing in this way.

Scriptures say that this body made of of five gross elements and three subtle elements is not our true self . It is ever changing and will be finished along with death. Death really means the end of this body but not of our true self. Scriptures further point that the soul which is immortal , unborn and ever existing is our true self. It is not the subject of changes even when physical body changes. Our soul remains the same. Soul is just wearing and throwing the outward covering of above mentioned element. The soul is the eternal part and parcel of supreme soul called supersoul. Scriptures point our real self in such ways.

Thus, we have to come outside the bodily concept of our identity. Bodily identification is the subject of changes everytime but our actual identity as eternal soul remains the same forever , as the servant of supreme soul called God.

Wisdom can’t be banned !

The same subject becomes the example of wisdom for one and ignorance for other sometimes. It is because one who has gone thoroughly the subject matter of that object attains the knowledge of the same and other who ignores the same misinterprets without the actual knowledge.

When it is about Bhagavad-gita one person takes as the manual for self-displine while other take as the extremist literature. One who takes it to be the extremist literature has developed mis-conception about this scripture. Bhagavad-gita teaches us the lesson of morality. It teaches us the code of conduct for running our life for perfection. Bhagavad-gita explores our hidden identity. In fact it is the collection of wisdom. But sometimes people mis-interpret it and even try to ban it , accusing the nonsense to it. Really this scenario is seen all over the world.

To sum up , scriptures like Bhagavad-Gita are in no way wrong rather are the subject matter of wisdom. To try to ban wisdom is never a story of success in the history all over the world. The wind may be banned and sound may be banned. Even light may be banned but wisdom can never be banned. Wisdom flourishes in spite of continuous pressure to ban it from the world or certain territories of the world.

If you don’t stand for something you’ll fall down for nothing.

I was attaining a spiritual program at Hare Krishna Temple, Nepal. It was already late when I reached there. A senior devotee (HG Patri Prabhu) was giving Bhagavad-Gita class to all assembled devotees there. I came to listen the same. His class was such a juicy that more we drank more we wanted. His wonderful speech, style and matured devotion were the basic reason for heart transformation of attendants. We were encouraged us to participate in the global movement of spreading Krishna Consciousness. Many times he was repeating one verse ‘if you don’t stand for something you’ll fall down for nothing’. Really, he was stressing on this verse frequently but I was a bit slower to understand its meaning. He was giving his wonderful class and everybody were listening him with deep concentration but at later half of his wonderful class , my mind couldn’t focus on his lecture but the same verse which he was stressing earlier attracted my mind frequently. My mind was repeating the same verse time and again. Only then I could get a clue why he was stressing on that verse frequently.

Last year I met a friend who was my school friend some three years ago. We started to talk about the events which took place in that three years interval. I was thinking that he’d finished intermediate level education but mine expectation failed as he said that he couldn’t read in those three years. Reason behind this was neither the financial nor family obstacle but this was due to his careless behavior. He was explaining the reason to me. He was saying that as I wasn’t fixed/determined for my study I lost time in just watching movie, going to disco and so on. Really as he was not determined for some special (to say study) he was running behind the nonsense which is at all nothing.

Similarly, if we don’t get determined to do something special we will pass our time for similar nonsense activities which in turn may ruin our beautiful life. Scriptures say that our life (human life) is very rare and if we don’t stand for cultivating Krishna consciousness (god consciousness) we will be dragged to the clutches of illusion (Maya). Thus if we don’t stand for Krishna consciousness we will fall down to serve the illusion and we is nothing but the meaning of same verse ‘If we don’t stand for something you’ll fall down for nothing.’

Krishna energizes his devotees

Krishna’s devotee are always active? What is the hidden secret in it? Someone was asking genuinely with me. I was at my work and busy as well but his repeated inquiry snapped my mood away from that particular work and dragged me to the nature of many known devotees of Krishna. Really their enthusiasm is the spice for thought. At first I find myself miserable to answer this question but my mind reminded the nature of Krishna and I was convinced myself.

Krishna is God. This is base and foundation of our spiritual life. As He is God he is full of energy every time. Just for example when we talk of magnetism whole magnetic substances derive their property from complete magnet. Just like iron pieces when put in the contact of magnet get magnetized similarly krishna’s devotees due to continuous link with Krishna , the possessor of total energy his devotees get automatically energized and devote their life continuously for Krishna’s service.

Waiting Hours

Really waiting hours are too tough whether it is the time of waiting for academic result or health report , whether it is the time of personal relationship such as proposal approval or business waiting. When we come finally to waiting hours or minutes at that moment we really feel how powerful are the each seconds. This is why I am writing on this topics.

Last year I was waiting for my academic result. That time I felt one month to be longer than the entire period of study (year). Before that I was applying for abroad visa for academic purposes. Unfortunately my visa appeal was rejected. I was not granted visa. I was waiting for about six month to get the report of my visa application . That time those six months were really longer than six years or even more to me because when I was waiting for the same I was really thinking of the result every time. Just yesterday I was at hospital. I was there to check up the health condition of my relative. It took just an hour to get the health report and at that time I was feeling it longer to pass than a month or more. Similarly every waiting hours are really difficult.

According to Bhagavad-Gita , this is due to too much attachment on the result. Waiting hours mean nearest time to the result or something else. We expect result to favor us which is in direct word the waiting of result. We get the direct pain while waiting it. Thus Bhagavad-Gita suggests us to not worry about the result. Only thing we can do is nice preparation and action but not expect anything from it. Doing this we can get comfort even in the waiting hours.
