Republicans are lucky. The leader of their opposition in the Senate is a buffoon.

Not only is Harry Reid mathematically illiterate — he seems not to know that Democrats hold 60 Senate seats, enough to cutoff a filibuster — he’s also ignorant of rudimentary political tactics, like not calling for a vote until you’re assured of victory.

So on a key test vote, he comes up 13 short in a body his party controls, and then tries to cover his ass by blaming the nation’s doctors for not performing a better whip count!

Liberal blogger Charles Lemons wonders how the Democrats are getting outwitted. It ain’t hard, dude. In fact, all the GOP has to do is lie back while Harry Reid does the work.
