In the post-judicial-filibuster world, intellectual adherence to textualism, in and of itself, is no longer sufficient for Republican Supreme Court nominees

The Supreme Court’s 5-4 decision last month in Trump v. Barbara declaring birthplace citizenship a constitutional right — authored by Chief Justice John Roberts and supported by Justice Amy Coney Barrett and the court’s three liberals — elicited a wave of pointed conservative criticism.
The critiques began in the case’s dissents. Justice Samuel Alito called the ruling “a serious mistake.” Justice Clarence Thomas said it “devalues” citizenship. Even conservative legal scholars who admire Roberts and Barrett acknowledge that Thomas’ historical analysis of the 14th Amendment was far more compelling than the thin originalism of the chief’s opinion. Movement conservatives, for their part, are outraged by the decision, which they feel was not only wrong, but wrong in the peculiarly Roe-ish way of extra-constitutionally placing a legitimate political question outside the reach of the nation’s elected lawmakers.

The Republican legal establishment has tried to defend — or at least downplay — Roberts’ ruling and Barrett’s vote. Their arguments — that Barbara only upholds the status quo or that the ruling is #akshually Donald Trump’s fault — have utterly failed to assuage conservatives’ frustration. Indeed, they seem only to be exacerbating the MAGA right’s sense of elite legalistic betrayal. It is urgently important for Republican decision-makers — on Capitol Hill, in the Trump administration, and especially in the originalist/textualist conservative legal movement — to understand why — and what to do about it.

The heart of the dispute is the question of what the Supreme Court is. In the intellectual fantasies of many originalist, textualist lawyers, the court is an apolitical, judicial umpire — merely calling balls and strikes, in Roberts’ famous framing. In the real world, however, the court (very much including the Roberts Court) is America’s unelected super-legislature, redrawing the strike zone however and whenever they please.

The judiciary’s arrogation of legislative power in recent decades is evidenced by its decisions — Obergefell, Bostock, NFIB v. Sebelius, and now Barbara — and also by the intensifying partisanship of the Supreme Court confirmation process in the U.S. Senate. When the court was really just a court, judges were mostly vetted for temperament and competence. Today, Supreme Court nominations are rightly understood as the most politically consequential votes senators take.

The left understands this. That’s why they turned “Bork” into a verb, organized the “high-tech lynching” of Clarence Thomas, and tried to frame Brett Kavanaugh for sexual assault. It’s why they took the unprecedented step, while in the minority in the early 2000s, of filibustering Republican judicial nominees. And why, while in the majority in 2013, they triggered the Senate “nuclear option” so they could confirm judges with 51 votes instead of the 60 required under the rules.

The right was always one step behind in this partisan escalation. It was Republicans who got borked, filibustered, and nuked first. We also endured decades of letdowns from supposedly “conservative” judges who drifted leftward during their lifetime tenure on the bench. And so, when President Trump and a Republican Senate came to power in 2017, they followed Democrats’ precedent, nuked the filibuster, and confirmed Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, and then Amy Coney Barrett at the new 51-vote threshold.

This is the real source of conservative anger over Barbara. Before the “nuclear option,” confirming Republican judges required a nontrivial number of Democrat senators’ votes. That forced conservatives to lower expectations, especially for nominees to the Supreme Court. Whenever a vacancy opened, we hoped for another Antonin Scalia or Clarence Thomas, but glumly understood that we might have to live with another “moderate” like Anthony Kennedy or John Roberts.

Once Senate Republicans nuked the filibuster, those expectations changed.

The days of hoping were supposed to be over. A nominee confirmable with 51 votes no longer has to satisfy Democrats. Under the new rules, a full-fledged commitment to originalism and textualism no longer needs to be tempered or constrained to appeal to the left. All of a sudden, Republican presidents and Republican Senates didn’t need “stealth” nominees. We could appoint and confirm proven, reliable sure things — just like Democrats always have.

Unfortunately, the conservative legal establishment has not adapted accordingly. They are still operating with a Filibuster Era mindset, focused on textual analysis for its own sake.

To be clear, textualism and originalism are and should remain the intellectual bedrock of the conservative legal movement. But a doctrine meant to end judicial free-wheeling should not swing into the opposite extreme: reducing conservative judicial analysis to parsing words on a page, going into a partisan gunfight armed only with an 18th-century dictionary. True originalism seeks to recover what the founders understood, and — crucially — must assume they were acting rationally and within a moral framework aimed at human and national flourishing. --->READ MORE HERE

During the past 24 hours, Ukraine's Defense Forces engaged Russian troops in 193 combat clashes, with the largest number of enemy attacks recorded in the Pokrovsk sector.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on Facebook in its operational update as of 22:00 on Saturday, August 1, according to Ukrinform.

"Since the beginning of the day, there have been 193 combat engagements. The enemy launched three missile strikes using 31 missiles, carried out 66 airstrikes, and dropped 201 guided aerial bombs. She was fired, but only after years of complaints.

In a case of queer overreach so extreme that even the far-left Denver Public Schools board was forced to act, a lesbian-identifying Colorado teacher was fired this spring after repeatedly pressuring students to kiss same-sex classmates during supposedly instructional classroom skits.

Teacher Jennifer Honka was employed for the past eight years to teach French Language and Culture at Northeast Early College (NEC), a high school which is part of the Denver Public Schools district.

Tales of Honka’s inappropriate kissing assignments were a topic of gossip at the school going back several years. They were part of classroom skits engineered by the teacher to allegedly teach students about French language and culture. The skits were given titles such as “The Neighbors Saw Everything” and “The Boring Kiss,” and focused on characters who were dating. “The script for ‘The Boring Kiss’ includes three different moments when the characters are directed to kiss each other,” CBS News reported, making kissing a central feature of the assignment.

It was only after receiving repeated complaints from students over the course of several years that school administrators acted, submitting a report to the Denver Police and commissioning an independent report to ascertain the facts of the situation.

Alarms were first raised during the 2023-2024 academic year when a student in Honka’s French class told her chemistry teacher at NEC about the kissing skits and expressed great discomfort with being forced to participate.

“The student was very uncomfortable and did not know what to do,” the independent report stated. “She went ahead and kissed another student at (Honka)’s direction. The student then shared a digital meme with (the chemistry teacher) that included a picture of (Honka) and the caption ‘she makes girls kiss.’ The meme had circulated among the students. After this incident, the student’s attendance decreased dramatically.”

“One student interviewed directly in the independent review also testified that Honka always selected girls to act in the skits,” CBS News reported. “Despite a nearly 50/50 split among boys and girls in the class, the student ‘could not recall Honka choosing a boy actor.’ This student refused to participate and testified that she received a zero score for a grade on this assignment.”

That student was far from alone in feeling targeted and humiliated by the teacher’s forced lesbian kissing. An English teacher at the school “testified that several students approached her as well,” noted CBS News. “One of the students ‘appeared upset and defeated,’ as stated in the independent review. ‘The student told (the English teacher) that she had been asked to kiss three other girls in one of (Honka)’s skits.’” --->READ MORE HERE

A Colorado teacher has been fired after an investigation found students were allegedly asked to kiss classmates during classroom skits, with some reporting they felt pressured to participate because the performances counted toward their grades.

CBS News reported Monday that the Denver Public Schools board voted 7-0 on May 20 to terminate French language and culture teacher Jennifer Honka at Northeast Early College for “incompetence and neglect of duty,” finding she had at times allegedly suggested that students kiss during in-class skits.

The outlet reported that an April 30 independent review, a copy of which was obtained by CBS Colorado, found that the students who were allegedly encouraged to kiss were always the same sex.

“One student told an NEC chemistry teacher about the skits in April 2024,” CBS News reported. “The student was very uncomfortable and did not know what to do,” the report said. “She went ahead and kissed another student at (Honka)’s direction. The invasion of Ceuta is just a snapshot of what Democrats will do with America’s border next time they get power.

It only took hours for tens of thousands of Moroccan illegal aliens to invade the Spanish territory of Ceuta this week. Removing those who remain will take far longer — if Spain even manages to remove them, given a recent court ruling that prohibits immediately deporting migrants who arrive by sea, as many did.
But let Spain’s overrun border be a reminder to Americans when measuring President Donald Trump’s deportation efforts against the mess left by the Biden administration: A government can destroy its border and country within a matter of days, sometimes weeks. Restoring sovereignty after your country is flooded with foreigners is a much more difficult and slow undertaking — and punishing Trump in the midterms won’t make the problem better.

According to The New York Times, nearly 60,000 migrants invaded Ceuta within about 24 hours. Ceuta’s entire population is roughly 85,000. Videos show hundreds of military-aged men running across the border, arriving in boats, and breaking through barriers. Eventually military forces were deployed. Tens of thousands of the invaders reportedly self-deported.

But the event showed just how quickly a country can lose its sovereignty. Tens of thousands of people entered in one day illegally. Spain cannot easily deport these migrants either. Those who claim to seek asylum must be processed, minors get even more protections, and a recent court ruling reportedly restricts the government’s ability to deport migrants who arrived via the ocean.

In other words, breaking the border can happen almost instantaneously. And deporting those Moroccans will take tons of time, effort, money, court proceedings, and hurdling of whatever other roadblocks Spain’s leftist politicians put in place.

Americans should recognize the problem. For four years they watched millions of illegal aliens literally break down barriers and flood the border while the Biden administration dismantled enforcement, expanded parole programs, flew migrants into the country, and even fought states like Texas that tried to protect themselves.

But now that the daily videos of illegals flooding the border have disappeared, it can be easy to forget the scale of the mess Trump inherited. In part it might explain why so many Republicans are understandably dissatisfied with the pace of deportations.

An April Pew Research poll found that, among Republicans and Republican-leaning independents, 28 percent felt the Trump administration was doing “too little” to deport illegal aliens. A few weeks before that Politico reported that “top allies” of the president were “furious” that the White House was focusing on deporting violent criminals rather than simply all illegal aliens. --->READ MORE HERE

At least 18 migrants dead as 49K breached border to reach Spain’s Ceuta enclave from Morocco: ‘Serious humanitarian crisis’:

At least 18 migrants died as an estimated 49,000 migrants stormed into the tiny Spanish enclave of Ceuta from Morocco on Thursday — as officials described the border breach as a ‘serious humanitarian crisis.”

Clashes were reported at border crossings Thursday, with authorities deploying water cannons in a desperate bid to stop the hordes of migrants from reaching Europe.

Around 49,000 people crossed the border and made their way into Ceuta over the past 24 hours, Spain’s Interior Ministry told reporters Friday.

“It’s chaotic,” said Rachid Sbihi, head of the association that represents Spain’s Civil Guard officers in Ceuta, who police the border, describing the situation as a “serious humanitarian crisis”

“People are still entering. The reinforcements that have arrived are only helping the injured and other humanitarian efforts.”

Many migrants among the 18 dead have drowned, according to Sbihi. Some were killed in a stampede while trying to cross fences near the Tarajal beach.

Footage captured migrants swimming over from the Moroccan ‌side of the Tarajal border using inflatable inner tubes and flotation devices. Others smashed through a gate in a fence and ran into the city.

Thousands of migrants roamed the streets after entering Ceuta while others slept in parks and on sidewalks.

Most who made the crossing were young men, but there were also families and unaccompanied children.

“Bye Bye Morocco, hello Spain,” migrants chanted as they made their way into Ceuta, according to AFP.

Ceuta is one of two EU land borders with Africa — and is separated from the Spanish mainland only by the Strait of Gibraltar.

“It was very tough,” Jadid Zacaria told Reuters, describing his plight. “The police tried to stop us. But our will and determination allowed us to come here.”

Others pleaded with officers in Ceuta not to return them to Morocco.

“Morocco, no. Morocco, no, please,” scores of migrants begged, as reported by El Pais.

The greatest threat to public trust comes when powerful people and institutions use their authority to suppress the truth.

The latest revelations from Sen. Rand Paul’s investigation into the origin of Covid expose what may be one of the most consequential scientific deceptions in history.
The 1,123 pages of private Slack messages exchanged among the authors of the highly influential “Proximal Origin” paper reveal that the scientists who publicly declared that a laboratory origin of Covid was not plausible privately held a very different view. They repeatedly acknowledged that a laboratory origin remained possible, discussed flaws in their own arguments, and struggled to defend the natural origin theory.

In the first batch of Slack messages between the authors, which was released by the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic in 2023, Kristian Andersen of Scripps Research, the lead author of “Proximal Origin,” privately described the possibility of a laboratory origin as “friggin’ likely.” In another exchange, he wrote, “The main issue is that accidental escape is in fact highly likely — it’s not some fringe theory,” and elsewhere another author acknowledged that Covid “easily could have” leaked from a laboratory. Yet only weeks later, on March 17, 2020, they published “Proximal Origin,” declaring that a laboratory-based scenario was not plausible.

When those earlier messages became public, Andersen offered a simple explanation. He argued that his initial doubts had been resolved before publication and that the messages merely reflected a normal scientific process of considering possibilities before reaching a conclusion.

The latest Slack disclosures completely destroy that claim.

The doubts did not disappear after publication. The newly released messages show the authors continuing to wrestle with evidence they found troubling. In one exchange from June 2020, Andersen wrote: “Gotta say — some smoking(ish) guns starting to appear that I’m not comfortable with.”

But rather than publicly admitting that their paper got it wrong, they instead discussed strategies for defending the natural-origin theory and finding arguments that could preserve it despite mounting problems.

The Genesis Of The Paper And The Hidden Hand Of Anthony Fauci

To understand why the scientists doubled down on their deception, it is necessary to understand how “Proximal Origin” came into existence and how it became one of the most influential scientific papers of the modern era.

“Proximal Origin” was conceived during a secret teleconference convened by Anthony Fauci on Feb. 1, 2020, as concerns grew that Covid might have originated from a laboratory. During that call, Fauci directed a group of scientists, led by Andersen and Robert Garry of Tulane University, and including Andrew Rambaut of the University of Edinburgh and Edward Holmes of the University of Sydney, to produce a paper addressing the possibility of a laboratory origin. Lipkin did not participate in the Slack exchanges that have since become public.

Upon its March 17, 2020 publication in Nature Medicine, the article reached a sweeping conclusion that a lab-based scenario was entirely implausible.

Despite Fauci’s central involvement in initiating the effort and shaping the discussion around the paper, his role was not disclosed to the public. The public was left with the impression that “Proximal Origin” represented an independent scientific assessment rather than a paper whose creation had been facilitated by the nation’s leading infectious disease official. That omission was particularly consequential because Fauci had himself been involved in funding gain-of-function research conducted at the Wuhan Institute of Virology after similar research had been restricted in the United States, making him not merely a commentator on the controversy but a figure directly implicated in the questions the paper sought to settle.

When President Donald Trump raised the possibility of a laboratory origin on April 17, 2020, Fauci cited “Proximal Origin” as evidence that the theory was unsupported. Quickly becoming one of the most cited scientific publications in history, “Proximal Origin” established itself as the definitive authority on the origins of Covid, serving to dismiss anyone who argued that a laboratory leak deserved serious investigation. After the paper’s publication, several of the authors received tens of millions of dollars in grant funding through Fauci’s National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID).

The newly released Slack messages show that Fauci’s involvement did not end once the paper was published. On May 23, 2021, the day reports emerged that three researchers at the Wuhan Institute of Virology had been hospitalized with Covid-like symptoms in November 2019, Andersen revealed that he had just met with Fauci and his team. “Just had a meeting with Fauci and his team this morning,” he wrote. “They get it and deeply appreciate what we’re doing, so we’ll keep dancing …” Three days later, President Biden ordered an intelligence review into Covid’s origins. Days after that, Fauci’s emails revealing the secret February 2020 teleconference became public under FOIA.

Technical Flaws And Private Admissions
In truth, the problems with “Proximal Origin” were visible from the beginning. One of the most important examples involved the authors’ claim that Covid could not have been engineered because it did not contain a known viral backbone.

Rather Than Back Down, Trump Must Escalate His Campaign For Mass Deportations:

The Trump administration can’t allow its deportation policies to be dictated by the outrage of the left and the propaganda press.

Conservatives who supported Donald Trump primarily because of his pledge to conduct large-scale deportations of illegal aliens had a bit of a scare this week.
An illegal alien from Mexico was fatally shot last week by ICE immigration enforcement officers after he “weaponized his vehicle in an attempt to run over an ICE law enforcement officer.” Another illegal alien, this one from Colombia, was fatally shot this week after he attempted to flee from ICE agents in his vehicle. Both incidents took place during legal, targeted vehicle stops by agents. These types of stops are relatively routine in ICE’s immigration enforcement mission and have been relatively uncontroversial — until now.

In response to an uproar by the usual suspects on the left and the reliably spineless on the right, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin ordered ICE agents to cease most vehicle stops nationwide on Tuesday. According to multiple sources within ICE who spoke to Fox News and the Daily Wire, agents on the ground were frustrated by the directive, lamenting that it would cause a crash in arrests.

The decision was met with almost immediate backlash on the right, fearing that this represented another instance of the administration caving to the left on immigration after the retreat from Minneapolis earlier this year. The administration almost immediately began to backtrack. Border czar Tom Homan went on Fox News to assure audiences that the order was “a short term pause, a short term review” that would not affect arrest numbers. He also mentioned that ICE agents receive “extensive” vehicle stop training.

But, on Wednesday, the White House told Fox News that President Donald Trump had reversed the order on traffic stops. Trump also posted on Truth Social that:

The Open Border Policy of Sleepy Joe Biden allowed 25,000,000 people to pour into our Country, unchecked and unvetted. Many were Criminals, and we have to get them out. In order to do this, we must be strong, tough, and smart, and we CANNOT give up one of I.C.E.’s most important and effective Crime Fighting tools, THE TRAFFIC STOP! Once we do, we are playing right into the criminal’s hands. The Radical Left Dumocrats would like to see this done, but it won’t happen on my watch. I.C.E., be judicious, fair and smart, and go back and do your very important job.

Now, reports have surfaced that DHS will require at least one person on an ICE team to wear a bodycam in order to conduct a traffic stop. Not ideal, but not a great impediment to enforcement in the grand scheme of things.

All’s well that ends well, right?

Well, there’s still the problem of millions, probably tens of millions, of illegal aliens still in this country and the even bigger problem of this administration’s haphazard attempts to deal with that fact. While traffic stops may be one of the most common and effective methods of catching illegal aliens, it’s simply not enough to deal with the sheer number of illegals residing in the country.

Instead of backing down and instead of continuing on with business as usual, the Trump administration needs to take this opportunity to escalate its deportation methods. It needs to begin rounding up illegals en masse by targeting employers of illegal aliens and conducting large-scale raids on known illegal alien neighborhoods. That’s the only way to achieve true mass deportations in a timely manner and fulfill one of Trump’s central campaign promises.

The initial surge of ICE agents in Minneapolis earlier this year was an encouraging sign, but the fatal shootings of two radical anti-ICE activists gave the administration cold feet. Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey both talked with Trump, who agreed to a drawdown of ICE’s presence in the city. Walz and Frey’s refusal to cooperate in the actual operation (but they were more than happy to coordinate the retreat) has only encouraged other states and cities to follow their example.

Leftists already try to block every normal enforcement method. Democrat politicians and judges block efforts in the courts and in Congress, sometimes taking the law into their own hands to aid and abet illegal aliens. Radical anti-ICE activists impeded ICE operations and actively aided illegal aliens in evading ICE agents during operations in Minneapolis, as documented by The Federalist’s Breccan Thies.

Instead of crushing the blatant insurrection by Democrats in Minnesota, Trump folded, and he needs to rectify that mistake by doubling down on stronger immigration enforcement.

A few large industries employ millions of illegal aliens. The construction industry employs an estimated 1.6 million illegals, according to the American Business Immigration Coalition, while the hospitality industry (which includes hotels and restaurants) employs another million. Nearly half of America’s agricultural workers are noncitizens without work authorization, according to a 2025 study from KFF. --->READ MORE HERE

Just one more example of many such cases in Europe, where Muslim gangs prey on the non-Muslims among whom they now live, can be found here: “French Teen Left to Die after Brutal Beating Amid Debate over Suspects’ Origins,” by Joakim Scheffer, Hungarian Conservative, June 27, 2026:

A 17-year-old French boy named Louis died after five youths lured him into a premeditated ambush at a construction site in Narbonne, southern France, and subjected him to a brutal beating of extreme cruelty, which they filmed and circulated online.

The attackers repeatedly punched and kicked Louis as he lay defenceless on the concrete floor, with footage appearing to show one suspect stamping on his head and another striking his face several times. He was abandoned unconscious overnight and found the following morning with severe head and facial injuries, bleeding from his nose and ears. Louis died in hospital on 23 June after spending three days in an induced coma.

Five suspects aged between 17 and 19—three minors and two adults—were identified partly through the footage and placed in pre-trial detention. Prosecutors said the evidence suggested Louis had deliberately been lured to the unfinished building and that the ambush had been planned in advance.

The case has since triggered fierce controversy over how French media have described the suspects’ origins. Mainstream reports have generally referred to them as ‘young people’, disclosed only their first names and surname initials, or described them as French nationals and local youths without discussing their backgrounds in greater detail.

Reports on social media and by alternative news outlets have suggested that the suspects are of immigrant origin, possibly French-born second- or third-generation descendants of immigrants, with some reports specifically alleging Algerian, Tunisian, Spanish, and Italian backgrounds. The news outlet Visegrád 24 circulated a photograph said to show one of the suspects wearing a football shirt with a Palestinian flag.

A “Palestinian flag” certainly suggests that the wearer was a Muslim Arab. But there are also their social media posts, giving more evidence of their Muslim identities. And the fact that one of them said the word “Wallah,” that means “I swear to Allah” in Arabic, further suggests that both he, and those he was speaking to, are Arabs, and Muslims. --->READ MORE HERE

"I don't know when I'll be able to sleep again": Louis's aunt, whose nephew was lynched in Narbonne, confides in the family:

Marie-Julie Marteau, aunt of Louis, who was beaten to death in Narbonne, describes a fragile and endearing teenager who had everything going for him in life. On behalf of the family, she hopes for the maximum sentence for the perpetrators

Lured into an ambush on June 19 in Narbonne (Aude), 17-year-old Louis died on Tuesday, June 23, as a result of a brutal lynching. Five suspects—three minors and two 19-year-olds—whom he had reportedly met at a previous foster home, have been charged and imprisoned. They are believed to have orchestrated this attack after Louis filed a complaint regarding a previous assault.

According to our information, investigators were quickly led to the suspects thanks to the initial testimony of a young resident of a Carcassonne hostel, who stated that one of the accused, also living at the hostel, boasted about having beaten and left a young man unconscious. He even provided videos showing the five suspects assaulting Louis. All were quickly identified and immediately arrested.

This brutal attack has sent shockwaves through the country regarding the violent behavior of teenagers and their relationship to images, since the assault was filmed and shared online without any qualms. 80% of ‘Squad’ Members Moved Money to ‘Squad-Husbands’:

AOC, Ilhan Omar, Cori Bush, and Ayanna Pressley all paid men with public money.

The group of radical female congresswomen who call themselves “the Squad” was supposed to be a triumph for feminism, but behind the scenes they serve as meal tickets for very shady men.
The latest scandal involving the “Squad Husbands” was the dead body of a teenage girl turning up in a house owned by Conan Harris: the husband of Squad member Rep. Ayanna Pressley.

Yoseliani “Liani” Marte, 18, was found shot and killed in a Boston home owned by Harris, who was already in the middle of a scandal over his company scoring a $2 billion contract to build a courthouse. Harris, who became a “public safety adviser” after leaving prison, co-owns the company whose other partner heads the Massachusetts Convention Center Authority. Their company received the high profile government contract despite Harris having spent 10 years in prison on felony drug trafficking charges and having been accused of assaulting a reporter.

Even while that scandal was breaking, former Rep. Cori Bush, who had been ousted in a previous election, was in the news for trying to mount a comeback while putting her husband Cortney Merritts on the payroll to provide her with security. Bush had argued for defunding the police only to be caught paying her husband with campaign funds to be her private police.

Bush’s loss was attributed in part to the scandal surrounding her diversion of over $150,000 to her “secret” husband for serving as her bodyguard. Merritts was indicted on two counts of wire fraud for allegedly fraudulent PPP loans after the feds accused him of lying on his application, but a hung jury in his court case resulted in an acquittal. Former Rep. Bush had also faced an ethics investigation for the six figure campaign funds payments to her husband.

None of the Squad members can seem to escape money problems with their Squad Husbands because Rep. Ilhan Omar is also in the news after initially filing a disclosure that claimed she and her Squad Husband had assets of between $6 million and $30 million only to ‘correct’ that down to a claim that her husband, who owns a venture capital firm, only made $200 last year.

Rep. Omar’s aides claimed that the disclosure form revealing millions to tens of millions of dollars in assets was an “accounting error” and “that Omar looked at the form before it was filed in 2025, but that the error didn’t jump off the page for her because she isn’t involved with her husband’s businesses.”

If we are to believe Rep. Ilhan Omar, she was so uninvolved with “her husband’s businesses” that she had no idea whatsoever whether he had $30 million or $200. Omar’s lawyer issued a statement contending that “as the busiest of people, it is very common for members and their spouses to rely on learned professionals like accountants to make calculations and determinations that appear on public filings.” And too busy to notice the minor difference between $30 million and $200.

But that’s just the latest chapter in Rep. Omar’s “Squad Husband” soap opera.

After previously being accused of marrying her own brother, leading to calls for a congressional investigation over possible immigration fraud, Omar was also accused of cheating on her second Somali husband, fellow Somali Ahmed Hirsi, with Tim Mynett, a white political consultant whose consulting firm, E Street Group, received hundreds of thousands of dollars in payments from the Omar congressional campaign and would eventually take in $3 million.

Omar and Mynett divorced their spouses and married. The scandal reportedly led to Omar’s father, Somali war criminal Col. Nur Omar Mohamed (whom Somalilanders have accused of genocide), refusing to see his daughter for disgracing the family as he died of COVID.

However, Omar and Mynett were apparently just getting started. Shortly after their marriage, Mynett created Rose Lake Capital, described on his bio as “former members of Congress and Ambassadors, thought leaders and financial experts – skilled operators bringing the right people together to drive results. A multinational holding company committed to doing good in the world.” One of the ambassadors was a former Qatari lobbyist. Qatar is an Islamic terror state.

Between 2023 and 2024, Mynett’s organizations, Rose Lake Capital and eStCru, a California winery, went from being worth $51,000 with only $700 in cash to that aforementioned $30 million while Rose Lake Capital was supposedly being backed with a massive $60 billion in assets.
These business ventures led to multiple lawsuits, including one alleging fraud and involving a drug business, suggesting that the Omar family has benefited from marijuana sales. Another lawsuit by a Muslim D.C. restaurant owner claimed that he had been promised that the winery would triple his money or that he would be paid 10% interest. (Wine and taking interest are both in violation of Islamic Sharia law. As is adultery.) The winery has since shut down. --->READ MORE HERE

Sen. Padilla suggested that officers whose lives are put at risk by agitators or illegals should automatically be fired for acting in self-defense.

Sen. Alex Padilla, D-Calif., on Wednesday called for the firing and prosecution of federal immigration enforcement officers who defend themselves against people who weaponize their cars and end up dead because of it.
During the confirmation hearing of Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche, who has been nominated for the permanent position, Padilla opened by asking about Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents in Texas and Maine shooting two illegal aliens. The illegal aliens allegedly refused to comply with the officers, instead dangerously fleeing the scene in one case, and attempting to ram into officers in the other, according to the Department of Homeland Security.

Padilla initially asked whether Blanche thought state and local law enforcement should be involved in independent investigations regarding federal officer-involved shootings, and then suggested that the Department of Justice should have a role in investigating such cases at DHS. But he quickly pivoted to suggesting that officers whose lives are put at risk by agitators or illegals should automatically be fired for acting in self-defense.

“Here’s the bottom line: Why I’m asking these two questions, because in prior incidents — you referenced Minnesota earlier in your testimony — Alex Pretti and Renee Good were also fatally shot, and as far as we can tell, it’s been months and months,” Padilla said. “There’s been no justice in these cases. As far as I can tell, those officers were not fired, they have not faced any charges. So it does undermine any confidence anybody should have in the Department of Homeland Security’s ability, through the Inspector General or otherwise, to investigate its own.”

Blanche responded, stating, “I very much disagree with the statement you just made. The mere passage of time between January and today doesn’t mean there’s no justice.”

In all four cases, available evidence points to each person refusing to comply with lawful orders of federal agents, and in every case making extremely dangerous decisions that appear to span from the direct targeting of police officers with their vehicles, to putting them and others at risk by fleeing, or in Pretti’s case, obstructing law enforcement officers and then resisting.

As DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin stated Wednesday, “As our officers carry out operations to enforce our nations laws, they are facing a more than 1,300% increase in vehicle attacks.”

Pretti’s case is the only one that did not involve alleged weaponization or reckless use of a vehicle, and it included a confusing and chaotic timeline of events involving his carrying of a gun and an officer apparently believing he was reaching for it while another officer was removing it from his person.

Even so, that does not automatically condemn the officer who shot him, as Padilla would apparently have it, or even suggest that the officer will be found to have improperly discharged his weapon, given the circumstances of Pretti’s confrontation. --->READ MORE HERE

“Here in Texas, you have these birth tourism hospitals openly advertising birth packages, and they’re not advertising to Texans,” BlazeTV host Sara Gonzales explains on “Sara Gonzales Unfiltered.”

“They’re not like, ‘Hey, Texans, come to our birth center. We’re really, really gentle.’ They’re actually advertising to Mexicans in Mexico. You have Mission Regional Medical Center; it’s within miles of the border. It’s advertising birth packages on billboards in Mexico,” she continues.

The billboard Gonzales shows is all in Spanish and boasts $3,950 for a natural birth and $5,525 for a C-section. Even more disturbing, the website the billboard pointed Mexicans to was “havemybabyinTEXAS.com.”

The website was taken down after the billboard went viral.

President Trump also called out the Texas hospital, writing in a post on Truth Social: “Signs and Billboards are being put up all over our Southern Border, and Mexico, advertising BIRTHRIGHT CITIZENSHIP, with ‘Deliveries starting at $4,000.’ Likewise, similar signs going up all over our Country. Texas Gov. Greg Abbott ordered an investigation into a Texas hospital Tuesday after it confirmed to Fox News that it advertised Spanish-language "Birth Packages in South Texas" on billboards in Mexico promoting childbirth services to pregnant foreign nationals near the U.S.-Mexico border.

Mission Regional Medical Center confirmed to Fox News that it was responsible for the advertising campaign, which promoted deliveries starting at $3,950 for a natural birth and $5,525 for a C-section, and directed viewers to a website, havemybabyinTEXAS.com, which has since been taken offline.

The billboards also displayed a telephone number beginning with "001," the country code used to place calls to the United States from Mexico.

"The marketing materials regarding maternity services are no longer in use due to any unintended misunderstanding," a hospital spokesperson said in a statement to Fox News. "We do not support or facilitate any unlawful activity and work to comply with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations."

The spokesperson said the campaign included two billboards located within approximately 5 miles of the hospital near a U.S.-Mexico border crossing. The hospital said both billboards and the website were removed Monday after images began circulating on social media. The spokesperson also said the campaign began in 2021 but did not specify when the billboards were installed.

Abbott on Tuesday directed Texas Health and Human Services Commission Executive Commissioner Stephanie Muth to investigate Mission Regional Medical Center for potential violations of state law and contractual obligations.

Images of the billboard circulated on social media before the hospital said it removed the advertisements Monday.

"'Birth tourism' is an illegal practice that exploits the extraordinary hospitality that the United States and Texas offer to millions of foreign travelers each year," Abbott wrote in a July 7 letter obtained by Fox News. For many years, Sadiq Khan, the Muslim Mayor of London, has denied that there is a grooming gang problem in London. In this denial, he has been like the British police across the UK, who for years denied that grooming gangs were a problem, and refused to investigate them lest they be accused of “racism” and “Islamophobia.” In order to preserve themselves from such charges, the police allowed the grooming gangs to continue operating undisturbed, and thus tens of thousands of vulnerable British girls, repeatedly gang-raped and passed around from man to man like confetti, had their lives ruined. But at long last, the severity of the problem has been widely recognized, and hundreds of those Pakistani Muslim groomers have been put on trial, convicted, and sentenced to prison.

Sadiq Khan isn’t worried, as a devout brown-skinned Muslim, of being accused of “racism” or“ “Islamophobia.” His fear is that he will be seen as incompetent and ineffectual in failing to address the grooming gang problem in London, so he has simply denied that the grooming gangs exist in the city he heads. And he also wants to hide from the public the full extent of Muslim malfeasance. But now the evidence of the ghastly phenomenon in London has simply become too large to ignore, and he is now being investigated for his prior denials. Her findings prompted Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer to order the creation of a national inquiry, with former England children's commissioner Baroness Anne Longfield announced as its chair last December.

The report also led to the National Crime Agency (NCA), known as Britain's FBI, setting up Operation Beaconport to identify criminal cases that had been closed prematurely.

Police forces nationwide were asked to look again at reports they had received of sexual abuse in which there was more than one alleged perpetrator.

1st Circuit Court Shoots Down Rogue Judges’ Bid To Evade SCOTUS Migrant Ruling:

A federal appellate court shot down on Wednesday attempts by a pair of rogue judges to sidestep a recent Supreme Court immigration ruling.

In its newly released orders, a three-judge panel on the 1st Circuit Court of Appeals overturned Massachusetts-based Judges Patti Saris and Brian Murphy’s administrative pauses against the Trump administration. Those directives sought to stop the government from ending Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for foreign nationals from South Sudan and Ethiopia, respectively.

The panel was comprised of Judges Julie Rickelman and Seth Aframe, both Biden appointees, and Joshua Dunlap, a Trump appointee.

Saris and Murphy’s actions were seen as an effort to effectively sidestep the U.S. Supreme Court, which sided with the administration on the TPS issue last month. In a 6-3 ruling by Justice Samuel Alito, the high court held that the TPS statute bars federal courts from reviewing non-constitutional claims against the government’s TPS decisions and further shot down a constitutional claim by one of the respondents that the president’s termination of TPS for Haitians was racially motivated.

CNN subsequently reported on Monday about challengers’ efforts to repackage their prior procedural arguments “into new constitutional claims or signaled plans to do so soon” in an apparent attempt to runaround Mullin. Saris and Murphy — the latter of whom has a track record of defying SCOTUS — indicated their administrative stays were issued to give challengers time to amend their initial complaints against the government. --->READ MORE HERE

First Circuit Clears Way for Trump to End South Sudan and Ethiopia TPS After Supreme Court Ruling Shuts Down Legal Challenge:

The Trump administration scored another major immigration victory on Tuesday after the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit cleared the way for the Department of Homeland Security to terminate Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for South Sudan and Ethiopia.

In a decisive ruling, the First Circuit reversed a lower court order that had temporarily blocked the administration from ending the designation, concluding that the U.S. Supreme Court’s recent decision in Mullin v. Doe foreclosed the legal arguments relied upon by the plaintiffs.

The appeals court held that the Supreme Court’s June 25 ruling made clear that the TPS statute bars judicial review of all non-constitutional challenges to the Homeland Security Secretary’s decisions regarding TPS designations and terminations.

“Previously, upon the government’s motion… we denied an administrative stay of the district court’s order postponing the termination of Temporary Protected Status (‘TPS’) for South Sudan,” the First Circuit wrote. “Upon further briefing, we now reverse the postponement order in light of Mullin v. Doe.”

The court explained that the Supreme Court held that “the TPS statute’s judicial-review bar applies to all non-constitutional claims” challenging the Secretary’s TPS determinations, and those were the only claims supporting the district court’s injunction.

As a result, the First Circuit granted the Trump administration’s request for summary reversal, denied its request for a stay as moot, and sent the case back to the district court for proceedings consistent with the Supreme Court’s decision.

This ruling dismantles another activist-judge roadblock erected against the lawful termination of a TPS designation that DHS determined no longer met statutory conditions. --->READ MORE HERE

Watchdog: From Fake Students To Disney Cruises, K-12 Fraudsters Stole $225 Million From Taxpayers Over 7 Years:

‘When school administrators with access to funds go unchecked, embezzling and misusing public money, it’s a loss for the students.’

Fraudsters in the public school system stole more than $225 million in taxpayer dollars over a seven-year period, Open the Books revealed in a report released Saturday.
The report details fraud occurring in 24 states and Puerto Rico, from the West Coast of California to the rural mountains of West Virginia, showing how public school fraud is a prevalent issue across the whole nation.

“When school administrators with access to funds go unchecked, embezzling and misusing
public money, it’s a loss for the students. If it’s in a smaller district, the waste, fraud and abuse impacts in such a profound way that it may take years to recover,” the report stated. Open the Books is a nonprofit, nonpartisan government watchdog organization that “operate[s] the largest private database of public spending in human history.”

Open the Books and the State Financial Officers Foundation (SFOF), a nonprofit focused on promoting responsible fiscal public policy, found that fraudsters only repaid 30 percent ($67 million) of the total $225 million stolen after the OIG “ordered restitution” from some of the criminals.

Open the Books collaborated with SFOF to sift through the Department of Education Office of Inspector General (OIG) reports to calculate the total amount of recorded education fraud since 2019. The groups looked through more than 90 cases of fraud where “schemers were rigging bids, billing for supplies they never purchased, embezzling and more,” Open the Books said.

In one instance of mass fraud by a single individual, California school Executive Director Janis Bucknor confessed to stealing more than $3 million during a five-year period. She spent the cash on “personal travel, restaurants, internet shopping, and private school tuition for her children,” and most notably, over $220,600 on Disney cruises, Disney theme parks, and other Disney-related products.

The state with the most fraud was Indiana, where a single scheme resulted in $44 million in taxpayer dollars never making it to schoolchildren. OIG reported that the administration at Indiana Virtual School and Indiana Virtual Pathways Academy inflated their enrollment numbers for three consecutive years. The schools received millions more in funding from the state than they should have and directed those millions “to fraudulent companies controlled by the founder, which were then funneled to his co-conspirators and others,” the report stated. OIG reports also recorded one school employee being fired for trying to blow the whistle on the mass fraud.

Texas fraud followed close behind Indiana, with fraudsters costing the state nearly $40 million in the past seven years. Florida and Illinois recorded the largest number of fraud cases. Florida fraudsters cost citizens $24.7 million, and Illinois fraudsters $14.5 million.

The report includes fraud data from only three of the “20 largest school districts in the country with the most federal funding.” The OIG has yet to investigate the other 17 school districts, leading Open the Books to write that its survey is “just the tip of another very large iceberg.” Open the Books concluded that “most of the highest-funded school districts are unrepresented here, and among smaller districts the per-student losses to fraud are unacceptably high.”

“Stronger oversight of federal education dollars is more than some bureaucratic exercise — it is an economic and moral imperative,” Open the Books noted. “Families deserve assurance that the public institutions meant to serve their children are not being looted by the very officials entrusted to lead them.”

Secretary of Education Linda McMahon responded to Open the Books’ report on Fox Business, saying, “We’re just beginning now to really look into the fraud [in the] K-12 schools. … I can assure you that we will be following through with our departments to see where this money has been going.”

This level of continual fraud hurts the taxpayer, but especially the American student. Literacy rates continue to decline, and America continues to slip behind foreign competitors in test scores and critical thinking abilities. Evidently, throwing money at the issue does not work; it only lines bad actors’ pockets. A 2025 review of 12,531 school districts by Open the Books found that “districts that spent more on teacher and administrative pay saw their students’ standardized test scores drop.” --->READ MORE HERE

Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin on Friday is to announce new election security crackdowns after The Post a day earlier revealed the feds found at least 278,000 noncitizens registered to vote in US federal elections.

Mullin will address the Trump administration’s “efforts to secure American elections” during an 11 a.m. news conference following the president’s Thursday primetime speech on vulnerabilities with US voting.

“Only Americans should be electing American leaders,” Mullin said in a post to X announcing the briefing. In the speech, Trump confirmed The Post’s reporting of the 278,000 illegal voter registrations — noting the full total could be far larger.

“Since Democrat states refuse to share their voter files, the real number is actually much higher than that,” he said. “Yet, even this limited analysis found more than a quarter of a million foreigners illegally registered to vote.”

The shocking number is part of a DHS report that reveals “just how vulnerable elections continue to be,” Trump said in his speech.

Trump further ordered DHS “to notify every state about non-citizens on their voter rolls and direct them to remove all ineligible voters from the lists immediately.”

It is the highest-ever publicly reported in US history, but a source familiar with the information told The Post on Thursday it remains unclear how many of those registrants may have voted illegally.

Shortly after The Post first revealed on Thursday that DHS found 278,000 noncitizens on voter rolls, Fox News Digital reported that DHS had sent letters on Friday to officials in California, New Jersey, Nevada and Pennsylvania, alerting them to an estimated 256,000 noncitizens registered to vote in their states — the majority of whom were in the Golden State.

US law holds that it is illegal for non-citizens to vote in the United States, punishable by a year in jail and a fine — but ultimately states shoulder the burden to verify a voter’s eligibility. --->READ MORE HERE

California tops the list with nearly 191,000 flagged registrations as states are asked to verify voter rolls

The Department of Homeland Security told election officials in California, New Jersey, Nevada and Pennsylvania a preliminary review found what could be more than 256,000 noncitizens registered to vote across the four states, according to letters obtained by Fox News Digital.

In the four letters dated Friday, DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin said the department compared publicly available voter registration records with federal immigration data and uncovered thousands of potential matches. He asked state election officials to work with DHS to verify the identities before taking any action.

According to the letters, DHS estimates there may be as many as 190,832 noncitizens registered to vote in California, 35,152 in New Jersey, 15,903 in Nevada and 14,576 in Pennsylvania.

The department said it found 81,336 California registrants, 19,497 New Jersey registrants, 8,576 Nevada registrants and 8,594 Pennsylvania registrants whose names, dates of birth, addresses and Social Security numbers match noncitizens in DHS records.

Many noncitizens are legally issued Social Security numbers, including lawful permanent residents, people authorized to work in the United States and certain visa holders. DHS said it used Social Security numbers as one of several identifiers in matching voter registration records with federal immigration records.

The letters describe the findings as a preliminary review.

"The most efficient way to ensure the accuracy of our findings is to work collaboratively on identity verification," Mullin wrote. A total of 191 combat engagements have taken place along the front line since the beginning of the day, with the fiercest fighting reported in the Pokrovsk and Kostiantynivka directions, where Ukraine's Defense Forces repelled 40 Russian attacks.

According to Ukrinform, the information was provided by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in its operational update as of 22:00 on July 29, 2026, published on Facebook.

"Since the beginning of the day, there have been 191 combat engagements. The enemy launched one missile strike using two missiles, carried out 60 air strikes, and dropped 196 guided aerial bombs. In addition, Russian forces deployed 5,566 kamikaze drones and conducted 1,973 attacks on populated areas and the positions of our troops," the General Staff said.

No enemy offensive operations were recorded in the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk directions. However, Russian forces carried out one airstrike using two guided bombs and shelled Ukrainian positions and settlements 48 times, including four attacks using multiple launch rocket systems.

In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna direction, Russian troops launched 11 assaults near Lyman, Volokhivka, Starytsia, Izbytske, and Khatnie. Two engagements were still ongoing at the time of the report.

In the Kupiansk direction, Russian forces launched five assaults toward Kivsharivka, Shyikivka, and Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi. Two clashes were still underway.

In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian forces repelled 13 Russian attempts to advance near Drobysheve, Dibrova, Novyi Myr, Novoselivka, Lyman, and Ozerne. One engagement continued.

The Trump administration recently unveiled a rule implementing the Medicaid work requirements included in last year’s budget reconciliation law. The rule strikes a reasonable balance designed to encourage participation in labor markets while not being unduly burdensome to states or beneficiaries.
The welfare industrial complex has protested that the requirements will lead individuals to lose insurance coverage. But an examination of the law’s intricacies shows that beneficiaries in many jurisdictions can comply by working what averages out to just over an hour per week. Moreover, in one of its unintended consequences, work requirements may end up encouraging increases in state and/or federal minimum wage, which generally reduce employment and jobs rather than increasing them.

Some observers might believe that talk of a requirement for Medicaid beneficiaries to conduct “community engagement” for 80 hours per month means that beneficiaries will have to participate in those activities every month. It doesn’t, and they won’t. Section 71119 of the reconciliation measure requires states to confirm community engagement “for one or more but not more than 3 consecutive months” at renewal.

According to a spring survey conducted by KFF, formerly the Kaiser Family Foundation, 34 of the 41 states that expanded Medicaid under Obamacare (the population to whom the work requirement applies) will confirm community engagement for a one-month period. Likewise, 34 states will document compliance with work requirements only at renewal, which under the law will occur every six months for the Medicaid expansion population. Thus, in most states, beneficiaries subject to work requirements will have to document compliance for two months out of the year.

The law also includes alternative ways to comply with the engagement requirement. Specifically, a beneficiary can show monthly income — which under the rule also includes unearned income — greater than or equal to 80 times the minimum wage, or $580. While many states have increased their minimum wages in recent years, the law linked the income test to the federal minimum wage, which has remained at $7.25 per hour since 2009. --->READ MORE HERE

Democrats Object To New Medicaid Rule Requiring Able Adults To Work A Bare Minimum:

The law should encourage able adults receiving taxpayer-funded benefits to contribute to the community while advancing their own self-sufficiency, and the new Medicaid rule does just that

Longtime Washington denizens recognize that Congress and the president enacting a bill into law does not end the policymaking process — far from it. Enactment stands not as the end of the process, nor even the beginning of the end, but rather (to borrow from Churchill) the end of the beginning. Federal agencies must then translate statutory language into federal regulation.
To that end, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released its rule implementing Medicaid work requirements from last year’s budget reconciliation measure on June 1, as required by that law. Because the work requirements take effect on Jan. 1, and state Medicaid programs need clear “rules of the road” before that date, Congress specified that the interim final rule will take effect before CMS can respond to public comments. However, the public can still submit comments between now and July 31, and CMS will consider those comments when drafting the final regulation.

The rule generated immediate and predictable objections from leftist groups, many of whom opposed enacting work requirements in the first place. But a closer examination of the provisions of the rule, and the statute it implements, shows the reasonable nature of asking able-bodied adults — the requirements only apply to those individuals in Obamacare’s Medicaid expansion — to work in exchange for receiving taxpayer-funded benefits.

Less Than Meets the Eye

Most people think a Medicaid work requirement linked to 80 hours of community engagement per month applies year-round. But as I previously noted, the vast majority of states replying to a Kaiser Family Foundation survey this spring said they would check beneficiaries’ compliance with work requirements every six months, and only for one month out of every six:

A total of 34 states said they will conduct checks every six months. Only Indiana and New Hampshire will check compliance quarterly, while Idaho, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, New Mexico, North Dakota, and West Virginia had yet to decide.

Additionally, 34 states said that when processing renewal applications, they will look back one month to check compliance with the work requirement. Again, only Indiana and New Hampshire will look back for a full three months, while Arizona, Idaho, Iowa, Kentucky, North Dakota, and West Virginia had yet to decide.

Only in Indiana and New Hampshire, which will verify compliance every quarter and with a three-month lookback period, will Medicaid beneficiaries have to document work, education, or volunteering 80 hours per month every single month. Most states will check beneficiaries’ compliance for two months out of the year, meaning beneficiaries can meet the work requirement by working 80 hours per month in only two months — just 160 hours per year.

Trump Admin Finally Cracks Down On Foreign Students Subverting America:

For half a century foreigners could enter graduate programs and take many years, far more than four, to complete their doctoral programs while remaining in the U.S. without any deadline to leave.

A new rule the Trump administration published earlier this month is finally addressing the flood of foreign students at U.S. universities plagued by anti-American ideology. Half a million of these students are illegal aliens, while more than a million additional college students are here on student visas, overwhelmingly from non-Western countries having political systems unlike or opposed to ours.

Trump has just ended this racket. Under a new rule issued by Trump’s Department of Homeland Security, most new F-1 students will receive visas that expire after a fixed period of time, usually four years. This puts healthy pressure on universities and students to reach the finish line as scheduled, rather than dawdle indefinitely in the academic cocoon. The average length of time in graduate studies has ballooned to more than seven years for a Ph.D., which harmfully causes students to delay having families and finding employment.

For half a century foreigners could enter graduate programs and take many years, far more than four, to complete their doctoral programs while remaining in the U.S. without any deadline to leave. The F-1 visa program has been allowing foreigners to remain on visas here for the “duration of their status” at their university, with no time limit.

The rule allows students to ask for an extension if they are unable to complete their degrees in the allotted time period, but the application process will run through U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. “This transitions oversight from university staff back to federal authorities and subjects applicants to biometric vetting, background checks, and fraud screenings,” the Department of Homeland Security noted.

Trump is also cutting back on the period in which foreigners may linger in the U.S. after completing their programs, reducing it from 60 to 30 days. International students who line up jobs here can seek other visa programs, but most should be returning to their homelands.

Trump’s regulatory changes also restrict transfers by foreigners from one university to another while here. Restrictions are being imposed on foreigners switching academic programs within their schools, too. “An F-1 student at any level below the graduate degree level may not change programs or educational objectives, i.e. majors or educational levels, within the first academic year of a program of study, unless an exception is authorized,” the rule states. The new rule takes effect on Sept. 15 of this year.

Until recently many states, including Republican-controlled Texas, went as far as allowing illegal aliens to benefit from low in-state tuition rates while Americans from out of state were forced to pay much higher rates. The Trump administration on Wednesday announced a proposed rule to limit the length of time international students can remain in the U.S. for their studies to four years.

If finalized, the proposed rule set to be published on Thursday would limit how long certain visa holders, including foreign students, are allowed to stay in the U.S., according to a press release from the Department of Homeland Security, which said the proposal seeks to curb "visa abuse" and increase the agency's ability to "properly vet and oversee these individuals."

The agency said foreign students have "taken advantage of U.S. generosity" and become "forever students" by remaining enrolled in colleges so they could stay in the U.S.

"For too long, past Administrations have allowed foreign students and other visa holders to remain in the U.S. virtually indefinitely, posing safety risks, costing untold amount of taxpayer dollars, and disadvantaging U.S. citizens," a DHS spokesperson said in a statement.

"This new proposed rule would end that abuse once and for all by limiting the amount of time certain visa holders are allowed to remain in the U.S., easing the burden on the federal government to properly oversee foreign students and their history," the spokesperson continued.

Since 1978, foreign students, or F visa holders, have been allowed to remain in the U.S. for their "duration of status," which means the time they were enrolled as a full-time student. The proposed rule would allow foreign students and exchange visitors to stay in the country up to the duration of the program they are participating in, although the federal government would not permit it to exceed four years, which is typically less time than it takes to pursue any additional education beyond a bachelor's degree. --->READ MORE HERE

With this evidence only now coming out, one must wonder what other rights the special counsel’s office trampled.

Special Counsel Jack Smith’s office analyzed the text messages of some 40-plus Members of Congress, with newly released internal documents indicating that the lead investigators ignored the established filter team review process — a process instituted to protect attorney-client privileged communications. Those documents, released Tuesday by Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, following whistleblowers tips, prove even more damning, though, to the special counsel’s brazen disregard of the Constitution’s Speech or Debate Clause.
On Monday, Sen. Grassley made public a letter and records he obtained jointly with his colleague, Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., as part of their oversight of the weaponization of the DOJ and FBI under the Biden Administration. That cover letter from the DOJ’s Office of Legislative Affairs explained to the senators that Special Counsel Smith’s team had established a filter team intended to protect privileged communications obtained during the investigators’ targeting of Donald Trump.

While the filter team protocols provided that “[n]o materials shall be disclosed to the investigative team without approval of a filter team attorney,” the DOJ’s Office of Legislative Affairs explained that documents uncovered based on whistleblower disclosures revealed that the special counsel’s office “apparently bypassed the Filter Team and directly accessed these text messages.” The “text messages” referenced were “text messages between White House personnel and several Senators and Representatives,” namely 44 different Members of Congress.

The records released yesterday by Sen. Grassley included a cache of 90 pages of emails and slides detailing the filter team process. An email dated May 27, 2022, from a contractor providing technical support to the special counsel’s office to Thomas Windom — an attorney working with Smith — proves particularly significant.

In that email, the contractor thanked Windom and his colleague, Kelly Zusman, for “jumping on an early call this morning to discuss” the “Filter Review workflow” related to the special counsel’s investigation into Trump. The summary that followed detailed the internal process and made clear that “the Filter Review Team” would make privilege determination before documents were reviewed by the investigative teams. The email stressed that if the filter team, which consisted of a group of DOJ lawyers not involved in the investigation, concluded the documents were privileged, they “will not be sent to the Substantive Team.”

Windom apparently initially followed that procedure, with an email dated June 26, 2023, showing the special counsel attorney forwarding to the contractor “a new NARA production for upload,” although why NARA provided the responsive documents directly to an investigator, as opposed to the filter team, is unclear. However, a later email dated August 21, 2023, shows NARA sending Windom a link to additional records, namely 54 spreadsheets, which include text messages of Members of Congress. Additional emails from the same date show that Windom downloaded those records and shared them with other members of the investigative team.

As Grassley explained:

NARA provided the texts to [the Special Counsel’s Office] on August 21, 2023. Within half an hour, one of Smith’s senior lawyers, Thomas Windom, downloaded the texts and, within one hour, other members of Smith’s investigative team downloaded and began reviewing the texts. It appears the review was done without waiting for the Filter Team to evaluate and segregate privileged information.

The apparent bypassing of the filter team by the Special Counsel Office is but the latest scandal surrounding Jack Smith’s crusade against Trump — but it also represents only a portion of the problem revealed in the latest document dump: The records released yesterday show that the filter team utterly failed to consider the Speech or Debate privilege held by senators and congressmen.

Specifically, presentation slides that summarized the filter team’s purpose and process note that the task was to “review information gathered from email accounts and devices for attorney-client privilege and work product information.” The opening slide also notes that “the investigation team presented a filter protocol,” but then none of the slides even mention the Speech or Debate privilege.

This proves particularly outrageous because Windom, who on May 27, 2022 coordinated with the outside contractor concerning the filter review process, had just ten days earlier been alerted to controlling D.C. Circuit precedent that requires Members of Congress to be given an opportunity to “identify and assert the privilege with respect to legislative materials before their compelled disclosure to Executive agents.” --->READ MORE HERE

An unmarried Indonesian couple from Aceh province found themselves at the center of a massive controversy and morality debate after a brief livestream showing them kissing inside a parked car resulted in their arrest, conviction, and public caning under the province’s Islamic criminal code.

On February 27, 2026, the couple, a 22-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman, broadcast themselves on TikTok while sitting inside a car in Banda Aceh. During the livestream, they kissed. Viewers recorded the broadcast and shared it across social media before local residents reported the video to Aceh’s Wilayatul Hisbah, the province’s Sharia Police, who then initiated an investigation, arguing that the couple had violated Aceh’s prohibition on physical intimacy between unmarried men and women.

Officers from the province’s Sharia police arrested the couple in April after identifying them through the viral TikTok livestream. During the investigation, officers seized the mobile phone allegedly used to broadcast the livestream, along with a USB flash drive containing the recording. Prosecutors later presented both items as evidence before the Banda Aceh Sharia Court, which subsequently ordered their destruction upon the conclusion of the case. After hearing the case, the court convicted the couple and sentenced each to 25 lashes with a rattan cane. Judges later reduced the sentence to 21 lashes, after taking into account the four months they had already spent in detention awaiting trial.

On July 2, hooded “officers” of the Sharia system publicly carried out the punishment at Bustanussalatin City Park in Banda Aceh before a crowd of more than 100 spectators. Prosecutors supervised the caning while members of the public watched. Four other offenders convicted of separate offenses, including adultery and online gambling, received public caning during the same event.

The punishment shocked many outside Indonesia, but Aceh occupies a unique legal position. It is the only province in Indonesia permitted to enforce a regional Islamic criminal code known as the Qanun Jinayat. Jakarta granted Aceh this special autonomy following the 2005 peace agreement that ended decades of conflict with the separatist Free Aceh Movement. Since then, the province has retained the authority to prosecute a range of morality offenses under Sharia-based regulations. These include adultery, gambling, alcohol consumption, consensual physical intimacy between unmarried couples, and same-sex sexual acts. A young couple in Indonesia’s conservative Aceh province were publicly caned Thursday after a Sharia court convicted them of violating Islamic law for kissing during a TikTok livestream.

The court ordered the 22-year-old man and 25-year-old woman to receive 21 lashes each with a rattan cane because they kissed while unmarried. The punishment was carried out on a stage in Bustanussalatin city park in Banda Aceh, the provincial capital, in front of at least 100 people. The caning was administered by a group wearing robes and head coverings.

The couple were arrested in April after a TikTok livestream recorded on February 27, showing them kissing in a car in Banda Aceh, went viral. After the video spread online, complaints were filed with local Sharia authorities, leading to their arrest and prosecution.

They were initially sentenced to 25 lashes each, but the punishment was reduced to 21 because they had already spent four months in jail. The court also ordered the confiscation of a mobile phone and USB drive containing the TikTok livestream video, which were treated as evidence to be destroyed.

Aceh is the only province in Muslim-majority Indonesia that enforces a version of Islamic law. The secular central government granted the province the right to implement religious law in 2006 as part of a peace agreement aimed at ending a separatist war. War update: 226 clashes on front line as Pokrovsk sector remains hottest combat zone:

A total of 226 combat engagements between Ukraine's Defense Forces and Russian troops were recorded on July 28, with the heaviest fighting continuing in the Pokrovsk sector, where Russian forces launched 29 assaults.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said this in its operational update as of 22:00, published on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

"Since the beginning of the day, there have been 226 combat engagements. The aggressor carried out 59 airstrikes using 190 guided aerial bombs, launched 6,125 kamikaze drones, and conducted 2,047 attacks on the positions of our troops and populated areas," the statement said.

In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, Russian forces carried out 54 attacks on Ukrainian positions and settlements, including one involving a multiple launch rocket system.

In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, the enemy launched 16 assaults on Ukrainian positions near Starytsia and Lyman, as well as toward Chaikivka, Kozacha Lopan, Izbytske, Anyskyno, Ambarne and Zapadne.

In the Kupiansk sector, Russian troops launched two assaults near Petropavlivka and toward Shyikivka. One engagement was still ongoing at the time of reporting.

The deadliest failed ideology is making a dangerous comeback.

Many educated people today are ignorant of the history of communism, They do not know there was a pact between Nazi Germany and the USSR. They do not know that communism collapsed in communist USSR nor why it collapsed. They do not know that in the 1980’s the PRC only began to have economic success because it allowed capitalist companies to operate within its borders.
We have recently seen a surge of leftists being nominated to run for office and actually winning offices in our beloved USA. They support a range of policies that are fundamentally communist, but they continually use obfuscatory language to describe themselves as socialists, democratic socialists, or progressives.

Furthermore, communism collapsed in the USSR about 35 years ago. And before that collapse the Peoples’ Republic of China (PRC) modified its communism in the 1980’s with Special Economic Zones. These Zones were established to attract foreign investment, boost economic growth, and facilitate experimentation with market reforms. In other words, capitalism was allowed to operate within certain areas of communist China. Then in 2000 Pres. Clinton invited the Peoples’ Republic of China to become a Most Favored Nation trading partner of the USA under the World Trade Organization.

Thus, there are tens of millions of Americans today who did not grow up with a daily sense of the USA being threatened by communism as had been the case previous to these changes. There are many who think that if the PRC can have a type of capitalism operating within a communist system, we can have a type of communism operating within our capitalist system.

The supporters of these far-left policies call themselves Democratic Socialists after their liar in chief – “Boynee” Sanders. Since 2020, “Boynee” – who speaks with a pronounced Brooklyn accent and has a right hand that never stops wagging its fingers at whomever might be listening — moved to being mainstream or center stage in the Democrat Party. This move to prominence and influence happened in July of 2020 when he and the Biden camp signed off on a 110-page memorandum of understanding. This MOU was a pact in which the Biden faction agreed to incorporate Boynee’s policies into the Democrat Platform.

This uniting with the Democratic Socialists was a complete reversal of the Democrat position taken by presidential candidate Harry Truman in 1947 when he refused to sign a pact with Henry Wallace who represented the far-left wing of the Democrats. Wallace was partial to Josef Stalin’s government, and FDR and Truman would have none of this canoodling with the far left. In 2020 Biden reversed Truman’s ideological purity and signed off on an alliance with the far left.

These so-called Democratic Socialists are really communists but hide behind the word “socialist” to diminish the sense of radical loss of freedom that the word “communism” denotes.

This can be seen clearly and was understood by communists running under the Socialist label about 100 years ago. Eugene V. Debs ran for President multiple times as a Socialist. Even in 1912, the word “Socialism” did not seem as threatening as the word “Communism.”

Yet, if we look at the socialist platform of that party, we find the Platform states, “It is this capitalist system that is responsible for the increasing burden of armaments, the poverty, slums, child labor, most of the insanity, crime and prostitution, and much of the disease that afflicts mankind.”

In addition, there is an entire section called “Collective Ownership” which calls for “collective ownership and democratic management of railroads, wire and wireless telegraphs and telephones, express services, steamboat lines and all other social means of transportation and communication and of all large-scale industries.”

It also calls for the acquirement by “municipalities, the states or the federal government of all mines, quarries, oil wells, forests and waterpower.” Further the Platform demands collective ownership and democratic management of the banking and currency system. All these demands for collective ownership directly reflect the political and economic doctrines found in the Communist Manifesto of 1848 written by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels. --->READ MORE HERE

A federal appeals court on Saturday refused to let the Trump administration enforce key parts of President Donald Trump’s executive order tightening mail-in voting rules in 23 Democratic-led states, a setback that could send the administration to the US Supreme Court ahead of this year’s midterm elections.

In a 2-1 decision, the 1st US Circuit Court of Appeals denied the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) request to pause a June ruling blocking several provisions of Trump’s March executive order while the administration appeals.

The DOJ previously told the court it could seek emergency relief from the Supreme Court if it did not prevail.

The administration argued the lawsuit was premature because federal agencies had not finalized the policies needed to implement the executive order.

But the appeals court found the plaintiff states were already facing looming election deadlines and had begun preparing for potential changes.

“As the district court reasoned, the (executive order) lays out a clear set of rapidly approaching deadlines by which states must coordinate with federal officials and comply with new voting procedures,” the majority wrote. “The Plaintiff States have no practical choice but to respond to the (order) now.”

Court upholds block on Trump plans to use post office to police election:

A federal appeals court has rejected President Trump’s attempt to revive his plans to have the U.S. Postal Service referee this year’s elections by refusing to deliver ballots by mail unless states first verify the eligibility of the voters.

The First U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals declined to overturn a lower court ruling that had shut down Mr. Trump’s plans, which he detailed in an executive order in March.

The Justice Department had argued that the Democrat-led states that challenged Mr. Trump’s order lacked standing to sue and that the case was not yet ripe because the government hasn’t finalized its plans. But the appeals court disagreed, finding that states are already having to grapple with the president’s directives.

For example, nearly half of the states already had obtained ballot envelopes that wouldn’t have complied with the Postal Service’s standards under Mr. Trump’s order, the courts found.

“The plaintiff states have no practical choice but to respond to the EO now,” the three-judge panel ruled.

Mr. Trump’s order had directed Homeland Security to produce citizenship lists for states, which they could use to scour their own rolls for noncitizen names.

He also ordered the Postal Service to come up with standardized envelopes for election mail, and to refuse to deliver election materials that didn’t meet the standard. And the post office would refuse to deliver ballots to names that didn’t appear on states’ lists of approved eligible voters.

Federal agencies were directed to withhold money from states and localities that didn’t cooperate, and the Justice Department was ordered to pursue investigations against violators. --->READ MORE HERE

It is increasingly clear that judges are a significant bottleneck within the current legal system, with the potential to obstruct many of the most urgently needed reforms in our country.
In an egregious example, former Milwaukee County Judge Hannah Dugan was recently convicted of felony obstruction after she actually attempted to aid an illegal alien (charged with battery) to escape ICE agents. Thankfully, her efforts were thwarted, and she was prosecuted for obstruction of justice. Despite being convicted, the federal judge presiding over the cases, Lynn Adelman, only sentenced Dugan to a $5,000 fine and no prison time. Dugan has resigned from her judicial office, but it is frustrating that so little repercussion has followed her gross abuse of judicial office.

Or consider how, after being repeatedly released by local judges, DeCarlos Brown brutally murdered Iryna Zarutska in August 2025, but is now determined by a federal judge to be “incompetent to stand trial.” Such examples of judges corrupting justice could be multiplied endlessly.

At every turn, the abuse of the judicial office is one of the most flagrant injustices and one of the most stalwart impediments to necessary reforms. Almost every problem runs through the bottleneck of the judges, given that in our current system, we elect the executive to enforce the laws, but the actual trials and sentencing will be presided over by state or federal judges.

Unless we can control or change the judges, we will not be able to truly restore our communities with much-needed law enforcement, criminal punishments, and accountability.

The Problem with Impeachment

It is a common refrain among right-wing figures in media to talk about the need to “impeach the judges.” In an encouraging step, Florida’s Attorney General James Uthmeier recently led the way by filing articles of impeachment against Miami Judge Miguel De La O, who let a black woman walk free because of an alleged “psychotic break,” despite her having drowned her baby and stabbed other family members.

As is the case in most states, the impeachment process involves articles of impeachment being filed in the House of the state legislature. Impeachment (essentially an indictment for “misdemeanor in office”) requires simply a majority vote, but typically the other house (i.e., Senate) must vote to actually achieve removal, which usually requires a two-thirds majority. This is why impeachment will prove such a difficult path to take, given that most state legislatures do not possess such overwhelming Republican majorities in the upper house. In blue states, it will not be possible to impeach the judges, and even in red states, it will be very difficult to actually get corrupt judges removed this way.

The same problem applies to federal judges, who could be impeached by Congress. Despite federal judges grossly abusing their offices by making up all kinds of illogical, inconsistent, and unconstitutional justifications to stop actions taken by the Trump administration — and despite these judges’ rulings often being overturned by the higher courts — it will prove very difficult to remove them. It would require a majority vote in the House to impeach, which would require all the Republicans voting together, and a two-thirds majority vote in the Senate, which is effectively impossible any time soon.

What Can Be Done?

One measure at the federal level would be to use Republican congressional majorities to ram through reforms to the courts. The Constitution leaves the entire structure of the federal judiciary — including the makeup and composition of the Supreme Court — to Congress. With a determined Republican majority and the president’s signature, Congress could reorganize the judiciary, create more judicial offices, and confirm a plethora of new conservative judges.

Even if they could not get rid of existing federal judges, it would be possible to “dilute” their influence by appointing and confirming more right-wing judges, requiring district courts to hear cases in multi-judge panels instead of by single judges, controlling the kind of relief the lower courts can issue, and so on. All of this is possible if the Republicans in Congress were willing to fight with the same aggressive tactics that the left has been using for decades. Prominent Democrats routinely call for packing the Supreme Court and other courts if they can retake national power, and Republicans would be foolish to bind themselves by procedures which our existential opponents will not hesitate to employ against us for our destruction.

At the state level, red states have many options if they are willing to fight. In cases where judges are elected, Republicans should pour money, time, and effort into unseating corrupt judges and replacing them with better candidates. Even if the judges are insulated from easy removal, the red state legislatures could use the same tactics I outlined above to control their state judiciaries, pack the courts if needed, or even amend their state constitutions to otherwise control the judiciary.

One more possibility, which would certainly upset the establishment and the left, would be for President Trump’s DOJ to find ways to creatively charge and prosecute corrupt judges under existing laws. Would this be radical? Yes, but not arguably any more radical than the subversion of America we have witnessed by a leftist judiciary. --->READ MORE HERE
