Songs which I love recently

2012-03-29T21:30:00.003+11:00

Thanks to my dad I have came to realise that I am listing to a lot of songs which are absolute trash... So I have started to dig back in to my music collection to listen to some good music. Although I am still listening to some trash music from K-pop Idols, these are my favourites lately.

The Script - Nothing

I have always loved songs of The Scripts. I love them for their melodies, their voices and even more for their lyrics. Recently, I have been listening to this particular song a lot.

The Cranberries - Zombie

This is just a classic and more importantly the message behind the song is wonderful.

Shinhwa - Venus

Shinhwa is finally back! I remember that I used to think that they were they coolest male group when I was in primary school and they have gotten even better.

SHINee - Sherlock

I just love the choreography! I love all the expansions and contractions as a group to make good coverage of the stage as well as in individual movements.

2AM - I wonder if you hurt like me

I really love the lyrics of this songs I can really resonate with it.

When you life went up in the air

2012-03-21T23:57:00.002+11:00

When ever I come back here I am just not satisfied with the looks of this blog. However, behold everyone! I have finally came around and do a huge renovation for this place. After years of having this blog I have finally made something (or rather used something that Google made for me) that I am satisfied with.

Although I have always been told that being young is about getting lost and finding your own way, I have never been more lost in my life. I have never felt as overwhelmed before. (May be I did... but I just can't recall at this point.) It feels like that my whole life is going up in the air. I feel no grip on my life at all . Everything just keep happening all at once around me. This has lead me to reluctantly admit that I have over committed myself.

May be being an active officer in two clubs (both extremely serious in taking up student representation roles) at the same time, compete in a debating competition and train a debating team all at once is a little too much. Maybe starting a part-time part time job at the same time is suicidal. However, I believe it is nothing but the assignment deadline that brings me on edge. Then, I ask myself if I want a quiet life where I spend my time in the library claiming that I am studying but actually aimlessly liking facebook status of people who we barely talk to, where I put more effort in going to the gym and ask people out for perhaps coffee, or sit in front of a computer with multiple screens and become a complete Otaku? I try to convince myself that this is not the life that I want and I am perfectly happy.

But I am not. I am just an ordinary young woman who has dissatisfaction in her life. Sometimes I feel lonely and just start crying in my room out of nowhere. Sometimes get cranky and yell at me best friends who would just take any bad temper that I throw at them and give me a hug cause they knew that I am upset. Then I would feel that I am loved and start spreading love around me again. Then I can also tell people how wonderful my friends are and introduce my friends to them as well.

Maybe live is simple, only that we often over think.

Update on my illustrations

2010-11-15T22:54:00.000+11:00

This is a poster which I have designed for my college. Unfortunately, as i had no control over the colour correction of the printing. The green didn't come out right..... i should have known that would happen......

Well... this is something which I have done in over 6 months ago... for this illustration, the body of the girl is out of proportion and the fabric wasn't right, but i do like the atmosphere of it.

Renovation

2010-11-15T22:43:00.001+11:00

Wow! It's been so long since I last wrote on my blog.... it's over a year now...

(It's titled renovation as I was trying to renovate my blog, but I really like the look of it... so I ended up deciding to keep the original look.)

I have always been feeling that time flies in my life.
The feeling was intensified in Australia and further intensified once I entered ANU.
I just absolutely love my life here. I like that we have independence in our learning but the teaching staff really help us to develop spiritually. They are like the mentors of our lives. Just like how I felt that the teachers from imsc were my life mentors.

Studying linguistics and law in ANU has been absolutely fantastic. It has enriched my life and made me grow up mentally in the quickest way have ever experienced. One of the highlights was my research essay on the development on Japanese Language in Meiji Restoration and its influence on Modern Chinese Language. It has given me a great insight to the cultural and language development in Japan.

I will be starting my Japanese Literature courses next year and I am absolutely looking forward to it.

A junction in life?

2010-05-05T15:20:00.000+10:00

I have been foolish for not facing the problems I should and believed that I won't have to face it until I finish my University school life.

I am torn between doing law or not. Yes, what a luxury to complain about when you are in one of the best law schools in the world. But I do feel that I am using up the language I should have been putting into my languages when I am trying hard, very hard to be above average in law. I am not asking for anything more any more. I am accepting that I have to work very hard for a long time to do well in law. It is not my genre, I believe.

I spoke to my lecturer today and he was encouraging me to go straight into languages and believe that I have a talent in it. I have never wrote the best writing in class in Chinese. That led me to think that I am not that good at languages. May be it was simply because I hadn't put enough effort in it.

I am beginning to believe that there is a chance for me to achieve high in languages. May be even chance to get scholarships for exchange or a career in it.

But how can I tell that I am not just merely trying to escape the harshness of the law school. I did not fail in anything yet. Passing = having the ability to continue, isn't it? It is something I am capable of doing, buy saying what I said aren't I just trying to find excuses to go for the easy way?

What is the right thing to do?

I have once again been a slacker in the weekend.

I have been painting this yesterday.

It is an illustration of a fantasy novel which I am trying to write, but obviously, things are going backwards...

I spend more time painting illustration for it then actually writing the novel...

anyway, this is the CG

Once again, I adore them for their voices. Hopefully they will continue on their good work.

I would say that their live performances still have room of improvement as they sometimes tip out of balance in their harmonies. However, I still think they are great. I just love singers who have strong classical singing background who does things a little bit more experimental and riskier than others.

I absolutely love her. I love her unique music style and her voice.

I love that her voice is soft, relaxed and sexy with French pop flavour.

Absolutely beautiful. I love that here lyrics are truthful and sincere as well.

What more can I say... I absolutely love her.

By the way, after my long and tiring job hunt, I have finally got my first job in hospitality business. Although I am still trying to negotiate my working hours. Hopefully my boss will still take me with my inflexible available time... The pay was average, maybe actually lower... but the boss and people in there seems nice, hopefully this will be a good way to get my first working experience.

My first detailed CGs

2010-04-17T20:26:00.000+10:00

I have always been very lazy in terms of painting the backgrounds for my CGs,

in the holidays, I have finally painted CGs with detailed background.

They takes like 5 hours longer to finish...

this is the colour version of the wallpaper.

and this is an illustration for my sister's fiction

I have been thinking to make a monthly calender with Zodiac sign characters.

it does sound like something that would take really long...

anyway, I started with drawing Aquarius wallpaper.

this is the line sketch done with SAI.

this is the first time which I draw directly on the tablet. it is actually not that hard...

at least easier than i thought

I would upload the coloured version if I do finish it sometime

My Crappy attempt at drawing 紀田正臣 in DuRaRara

2010-03-27T18:07:00.000+11:00

As you can see... he became a girl. My compliant is that he is already very girlie to start with... for someone like me who is extremely bad at drawing boys it would just make things worse...

the original for your comparison:

It's the one on the left in case my drawing is that iireconisable.

Avril Lavigne - Alice

2010-03-21T22:36:00.003+11:00

To be honest, I didn't quite like Avril Lavigne for the last couple years... Didn't quite like her Girlfriend album.

However, I think she has improved and have done a great job here.
