I have found that the best way to get someone to respond positively to you is to LIKE them!

Seriously! It is so easy!!! Plus, it works.

Ive recently started a new position as a professional headhunter. Ive always done professional networking and marketing for individuals but now have joined a new firm. Most of what Im doing now is COLD CALLING. UGH..the dreaded COLD CALL.

What does it consist of? Hi! My name is Mary Gardner and Im with XYZ company, who is the Director of Operations? From there I ask questions and gather information until I get the right person on the phone that might have a serious interest in my candidate that Im marketing.

The difference that Ive seen in my first few days is that the first day I was TERRIFIED to call. I didnt feel ready. I felt unprepared. I wasnt clear of the procedures and I didnt even feel comfortable with the phone. Here is what happened: the first few calls.. people almost hung up on me. They didnt have the tolerance for a person with no confidence.

Today, I relaxed. I committed to myself that I was going to have FUN and to make the people enjoy our encounter. Id do that by showing them favor over the phone and acting excited to talk with them, even though I had no idea of who they were and what they did. And guess what? It worked! I spoke with numerous gatekeepers as we call them, or administrative people who shared all of the information that I wanted about the company. I used their NAME in the conversation! I asked how they were doing and didnt ignore them. I asked about the weather when they were in south Florida and laughed with them when they forgot whether it was morning or afternoon in their greeting. I truly just enjoyed all of the people I met.. and guess what?

They liked me back!!! I expressed enthusiasm when speaking WITH them and TO them, and they responded in kind. It was so much more fun to speak with them when I stopped thinking OF MYSELF and my nerves, and started thinking about THEM!!!

Of course I did all of the standard things you do in small talk! I asked them questions and I listened to them intently. I asked about them, or their company or the weather or if they were having a good day, but I showed interest in THEM and their lives. That was the total key today to enjoying new people and getting them to feel comfortable with me.

I liked them.

How about you? Are you expressing interest and curiosity in others? Are you excited to speak with them? Do you show interest in their response? Do you laugh at their jokes? Do you sincerely want to show that person that they are OK in your book?

You might find what I found. A day of potential stress can turn into a day full of fun.

In making a call from the streets of Australia to a friend who is drinking coffee in a caf located in an avenue in France, one may consider using a prepaid phone card that you can easily get with the help of the world-wide-web. Why go for online prepaid cards, you ask? Let us count the ways.

For one, prepaid online phone cards are way convenient to get. You simply turn on your personal computer, choose from a number of vendors and supplier websites where prepaid phone cards are offered and register in. Make your order and in minutes, you will get an email with the personal identification code or reference number which you can use to load your phone with the credits it needs to make calls. No more driving to the nearby grocer or going to the phone card store to buy one. No dodging with traffic, no expense on fuel cost and there is minimum or less effort on your part. Your fingers basically do the walking so your feet get to rest on their laurels, figuratively speaking.

The convenience of prepaid online phone cards does not stop there. They generally can be used to contact your friends or relatives who may be anywhere in the world. They are flexible enough to accommodate calls not just within your local range but across the seas as well. Being able to hear a friendly hello or a birthday greeting from a special loved one on the other side of the globe may not be impossible and that difficult to obtain with the help of online prepaid phone cards. And you might be surprised to know that international rates are not that high with online prepaid phone cards. Because these online vendors are saving on marketing and other operational costs thru their internet shops, the customers are also able to benefit from their savings. It is noted that with prepaid phone cards, one may be able to avoid the cost of taxes which come with the use of standard telephones in making international calls.

Most people avoid making international calls because they are afraid to look at the high charges that they get billed for at the end of the month or billing period. But with online prepaid phone cards, this nightmare of a scene can now remain within the realms of delusions and hallucinations. This is because there is no such thing as monthly phone bills when it comes to online prepaid phone cards. Since the cards are prepaid, we get to control our phone spending budget and limit our calls to the basic and the important. After each use, we can check the balance of our phone credits and plan on our future calls. With this feature, we can monitor and track our call history as well. There are no contracts for us to sign so we need not worry that we might have neglected to read the fine print that could cause us to pay for other additional charges and fees.

How do you think your computer will run if you dont perform regular maintenance on it? If your computer is running sluggish, if it periodically needs to be rebooted or doesnt boot up as quickly as it used to, it sounds like its time for a Clean Up. The following instructions below will give you step by step instructions on how to ensure your PC continues to operate at its fullest potential. These instructions are relevant for machines running Windows XP and using Internet Explorer.

Here are the steps:

1. Open up Internet Explorer

2. Next click on the word Tools up at the top of your screen.

3. Click Internet Options.

4. In the middle of that box youll see a section called Temporary Internet Files. Click the Delete Files button.

5. Click the box Delete offline content too, then OK.

6. Once that is done, click the Delete Cookies button within the Temporary Internet Files section. Click OK there too.

7. Next click the Settings button. Check for newer versions of stored pages should be clicked to automatically if it isnt already.

8. Change the Amount of Disk Space to use to 8MB. Click OK twice.

9. Next go to the green Start button in the very lower left corner of your screen. Click My Programs, Accessories, System Tools, Check Disk Clean up.

10. Use offline content or anything else it asks. It will take a few moments while it is checking how much space it can clean up. When you get the new pop-up window, make sure there are checks in every box. Click OK

11. After running Disk Clean up, go to Ad-Aware, update and run the program. If you dont have Ad-Aware SE Personal, its a free very comprehensive spyware removal tool and it’s remarkably simple to use. You can download it through Lavasoft. After running Ad-Aware, reboot your computer.

You should perform the above maintenance about once a week. Then on an as-needed basis, run Disk Defrag, which you can find in Start, My Programs, Accessories, System Tools, Disk Defrag. By following the above simple steps your computer should continue to run at optimum performance!

High definition TV tuners or HDTV tuners are designed to receive high definition programs by connecting to an external antenna. HDTV tuners will not only show movies and DVDs at high definition, but will improve the viewing of normal TV. It is because of the improved definition or color and picture quality of DVDs and programs that make HDTV tuners very popular with viewers.

Television sets often come with HDTV tuners already built into them, these are called integrated HDTVs. If you are considering buying an external high definition TV tuner for your television, make sure that your TV set is HDTV compatible. A separate tuner may also be needed. This can be either a cable or satellite box for watching high definition programs.

Most people have heard that there is a mandate on televisions to make integrated HDTVs. This is not entirely correct. Certain televisions that are for sale after a certain date will be required to have built in tuners. The tuners required wont be HDTV. The mandate is actually referring to ATSC tuners. It is not even necessary that TVs be able to display HDTV resolutions without either an internal or external tuner. This new mandate will not apply to plasma and front projectors. The mandate will not take effect for some time. Until then there will be no change in television manufacture or tuners.

It is important to ask about features of high definition TV tuners before making a choice. If you are not sure what some of the features are, ask for clarification. Make sure that your television is compatible, HDTV tuners may not work with older televisions. Ask your cable or satellite company weather they support high definition TV, as many people find out later down the road that they cannot receive HDTV programs through cable or satellite.

Ask about what kind of warranties are available and what parts they actually cover before buying. External high definition TV tuners are quite reasonably priced. Prices start at around $150. If you are on a budget, make sure not to buy cheaply made appliances. Always wait for specials or price reductions on reliable brands.

One of the most popular brands available is the Samsung SIR-T451. This one is ideal for high definition programming on any high definition TV compatible television. There are many more HDTV tuners available on the market. By doing a quick search on your favorite search engine, you will be able to find a HDTV tuner that will fit both your budget and your TVs requirements.

Do you want to try to download a free Ipod game? Ipods seem to have really taken off in this high tech age, and virtually everybody seems to have one. Although your Ipod may well have come loaded with quite a few games when you bought it, you’ll probably find that you can never have too many games. In this article there are some tips to show you what you need to know if you are trying to download a free game for your Ipod.

The primary consideration for you if you’ve chosen to download a free Ipod game is caution- there are HUNDREDs of websites on the internet that only want to take your money. As if that was not enough, there are also many that want to give your computer a virus infection and use their downloads to ruin your IPod. Although it is not easy to tell which sites are like this, you would do well to avoid any site with popups. No one like popups, so any site using them is best avoided..

You are also going to have to be careful that what you are doing is legal-if you download free ipod games, and it is later proven that they were under copyright, you will become a lawbreaker. We are seeing an ongoing tightening of the laws on downloads, and although it can be just too tempting with the high speeds of modern day internet, it is ever more likely that a law breaker will be found out. If anyone using the internet can locate your IP address, and with it your name and home address, don’t you think the government can do the same?

If you want to download a free Ipod game, you will need to be smart. Remember, things which seem too good to be true, usually are too good to be true. It can be annoying when you find a site which offers to let you download many of the most recent games, as well as music and movies, all for your Ipod and without any charge, but it is almost certainly a scam of some sort. You need to take care with this kind of site, as they can charge a fee for every download, or even a fee every month for membership. It is an obvious recommendation to avoid these kind of sites, but if you do join one make sure you know what you will get for your money.

There is a good side to all of this. The best method for downloading a free Ipod game is by using a genuine download site. Some of these sites are on the level and allow you free downloads, often at high speed. The one problem with these sites is that they usually need a one off payment to join the site. This is often around $20 to $50, and when you have registered you will be able to download virtually any game for your Ipod-as well as a lot of television broadcasts and films, and a huge amount of music. It will be easy with a site like this to get good value for the money.

So there are the tips-if you want to download a free Ipod game, be very careful not to fall foul of a scam, or even worse find yourself in legal trouble! Have fun!

As a CCNA candidate, you most likely have some background in PC hardware and workstation support. If so, you’re already familiar with loopback interfaces, particularly 127.0.0.1, the loopback address assigned to a PC.

When you’re learning all about the different physical interfaces for your CCNA exam – serial, ethernet, and BRI, among others – there’s one logical interface you need to know about, and that is – you guessed it! – the loopback interface.

What isn’t as immediately apparent is why we use loopback interfaces on routers and switches to begin with. Many of the Cisco router features that can use loopbacks are intermediate and advanced features that you’ll learn about in your CCNP and CCIE studies, but these features all come back to one basic concept: If the loopback interface on a router is down, that means the router is unavailable as a whole.

In contrast, a physical interface being down does not mean the router itself is out of commission. A router’s ethernet port can go down, but the other physical interfaces on that router are still operational. Since a loopback interface is logical, there’s nothing physical that can go wrong with it.

As I mentioned, you’ll learn different Cisco router and switch features that utilize loopback interfaces as you climb the Cisco certification ladder. There’s one misconception about Cisco loopback interfaces that you want to get clear on now, though. Youre probably familiar with loopback interfaces on a PC, and may even know that the address range 127.0.0.0 is reserved for loopback addressing.

Note that this reserved address range does not apply to loopbacks on Cisco devices, however. If you attempt to assign an address from this range to a Cisco loopback interface, you get this result:

R1#conf t

Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z.

R1(config)#interface loopback0

R1(config-if)#ip address 127.0.0.2 255.255.255.0

Not a valid host address – 127.0.0.2

R1(config-if)#ip address 127.1.1.1 255.255.255.0

Not a valid host address – 127.1.1.1

The range 127.0.0.0 is reserved for host loopbacks (such as PCs), not routers or switches. The most commonly used address from this range is 127.0.0.1 if you cant ping that on a workstation, that means you cant ping yourself, which means theres a problem with the TCP/IP install itself.

Keep these details in mind on the exam and in the workplace, and youre on your way to CCNA exam success!

To pass the CCNA exam, you’ve got to know the role of the bandwidth command with IGRP and EIGRP and when to use it. In this tutorial, we’ll configure IGRP over a frame relay hub-and-spoke network using the following networks:

R1 (the hub), R2, and R3 are running IGRP over the 172.12.123.0 /24 network. This is a T1 line.

R1 and R3 are also connected on a different subnet, 172.12.13.0 /24. The bandwidth of this connection is 512 KBPS.

R2 and R3 are also connected by an Ethernet segment, 172.23.0.0 /16.

We’ll configure IGRP on R1, R2, and R3 with the router igrp 1 command. IGRP will run on all interfaces in the 172.12.0.0 and 172.23.0.0 network.

R1#conf t

R1(config)#router igrp 1

R1(config-router)#network 172.12.0.0

The 1 in the router igrp command refers to the Autonomous System (AS). IGRP is a classful routing protocol, so wildcard masks are not used in the network statements.

R2#conf t

R2(config-if)#router igrp 1

R2(config-router)#network 172.12.0.0

R2(config-router)#network 172.23.0.0

R3#conf t

R3(config-if)#router igrp 1

R3(config-router)#network 172.12.0.0

R3(config-router)#network 172.23.0.0

Run show ip route on R1. R1 will see three equal-cost paths to the Ethernet network. IGRP supports load-sharing over up to four equal-cost paths by default, so all three paths appear in the routing table. R1 will also see a route to the loopback address on R2 and two routes to the loopback address on R3. (You can also run show ip route igrp in order to see only the IGRP routes.)

R1#show ip route igrp

I 172.23.0.0/16 [100/8576] via 172.12.123.2, 00:00:02, Serial0

[100/8576] via 172.12.13.3, 00:00:02, Serial1

[100/8576] via 172.12.123.3, 00:00:01, Serial0

Remember that the numbers in the brackets following the network number in the routes are the Administrative Distance and the IGRP metric, in that order.

Note that classful masks are in use. IGRP does not support variable-length subnet masks (VLSM).

There are two serial connections between R1 and R3. IGRP is assuming that both lines are T1 lines, running at 1544 KBPS. The 172.12.13.0 network is participating in equal-cost load sharing because of IGRPs bandwidth assumption – that all serial interfaces are connected to T1 lines.

To give IGRP a more accurate picture of the networks bandwidth, configure bandwidth 512 on R1 and R3s Serial1 interface (the interfaces on the 172.12.13.0 network).

R1#conf t

R1(config)#interface serial1

R1(config-if)#bandwidth 512

R3#conf t

R3(config)#interface serial 1

R3(config-if)#bandwidth 512

IGRPs assumption that all serial lines run at 1544 KBPS is overridden by the bandwidth 512 command. IGRP now believes this line runs at 512 KBPS.

To see the effect of this command, clear your routing table on R1.

R1#clear ip route *

R1#show ip route igrp

I 172.23.0.0/16 [100/8576] via 172.12.123.3, 00:00:24, Serial0/0

[100/8576] via 172.12.123.2, 00:00:17, Serial0/0

The routing table is cleared with clear ip route *. To see only the routes received in IGRP updates instead of the entire table, run show ip route igrp.

One of the paths to 172.23.0.0 is now gone – the route that went through the 172.12.13.0 network. Now that IGRP sees that link as slower than the others, equal-cost load balancing will not occur over the 172.12.13.0 network.

Its important to understand that the bandwidth command does not actually change the bandwidth of the connection; it changes IGRPs assumption of what the bandwidth is.

In the next part of this IGRP load-balancing tutorial, we’ll take a look at how to configure unequal-cost load balancing.

To convert a unit from millimeters to inches, multiple steps are necessary as the two units are in a different system of units. Millimeters is in a number form, 1 x 10-3 meters (the standard unit of length), and is one of the metric unit systems and a part of the International System of Units (SI). On the other hand, an inch is a unit of length in a few systems such as in the English units, Imperial units, and the United States customary units. It is basically 1/36th of a yard or 1/12th of a foot.

Direct Rates
1 millimeters = 0.0393700787 inch
1 inch = 25.4 millimeters

Using the Factor-Label Method of Conversion
So, to convert millimeters to inches, method known as the factor-label method of conversion must be done.
1. Firstly, we know that 25.4 x 10-3 meters equals 1 inch. But before that, meters must be converted to millimeters. 1 meter = 1,000 millimeters
2. Considering how 25.4 x 10-3 meters equals an inch, and 1,000 millimeters equals a meter, we can find the relationship between an inch and a millimeter by finding the product of: 25.4 x 10-3 x 1,000
3. This equals to 25.4 millimeters equaling an inch. This basically means that 1 millimeter equals 1/25.4 of an inch.

Work Shown
1 mm / 1 x 10-3 m = 1 m / 100 cm = 1 cm / (1/2.54) in.
Crossing out the meters (m) and centimeters (cm) gives us a relationship between the millimeter (mm) and the inch (in.).

If youve gotten a good handle on the basics of Adobe Photoshop and just want to take a few tutorials to learn some advanced speedy little tricks here are some neat online Photoshop tutorials to try.

The very newest of the Photoshop tutorials is the lesson on replacing color. This will teach you not only how to replace color throughout the image, but how to go about replacing a series of the same color in various shades with the same kind of color gradient in a different color.

You can take part in this Photoshop tutorial from the vendors Web site or can download it as a PDF and read it at your leisure.

Should you have no Adobe Acrobat reader installed on your computer youll need that to use the PDF but its easily downloaded from the site at no charge in just a few quick seconds.

Another of the clever Photoshop tutorial lessons is the means to form your Photoshop text in a circle. This circular text formatting has traditionally called for a vector but the version 5 lets you create your circular text with much more ease, and no vector.

This Photoshop tutorial, as with the other advanced training programs, can be read online or with a downloadable PDF.

For those of you who like the creative effect of a curling page you can learn how to do this with a Photoshop tutorial as well. In the same lessons you can learn to use Adobe paths and to create gradients of your own.

One whimsical little Adobe Photoshop trick taught through tutorials is called flag in the wind. Created at the request of several Photoshop users who logged onto Usenets, the technique teaches photographers how to use Photoshops displace filter to create the look of a breezy movement.

Once the above techniques have been mastered additional advanced Photoshop tutorials teaching things like custom interfaces, and the quick photo effects of masking. One of the fun uses for this tactic is to take one head and place it on the body of another person. Everyone needs that technique right?

Some of the Photoshop tutorials are specific to materials and fabric. Tutorial number nine, for example, teaches the use of Adobe Photoshop with metal, while the next lesson number ten teaches the use of wood as a Photoshop material.

Textured spheres and round buttons can be designed with Photoshop with any material once youve taken the basic materials lessons.

Wood texture tutorials teach bevel and button creations, while metal textures can be used for interfaces as well.

GIF lessons are important additions to your Photoshop basic tutorials. GIFs are not that easy to master, but their transparency is the reason theyre still important.

You can tackle runny text lessons in advanced tutorials too. Just in case you have a bent for the bloody, say at Halloween time, you can learn this point and click technique with Photoshop classes.

Other advanced Photoshop tutorials teach gold and raised text creation, soft text with a beveled look and an alien skin, chrome and textured 3-D text, and layered masking.
