5 Unique War

War is the most horrible thing in the history of the world, death, poverty, hunger and hatred are the side effects that accompany this tragedy. But did you know that war does not always cause harm and be a humanitarian tragedy? Here are 5 unique war that has ever happened in the world:

The World's Shortest War. (lasts for 40 minutes)
On 27 August 1896, a battle occurred between the United Kingdom and Zanzibar (an island nation located in the continent of Africa), but what makes this war unique is that the battle lasted for 40 minutes. This war occurred due to the death of Sultan bin Hamad Thuwaini (pro-UK), and the transfer of power to the sultan Khalid bin Barghas. United Kingdom royal party gives an ultimatum to Zanzibar at 09:00 on 27 August, then attack 40 minutes later, where the 500 fleet pro Sultan Khalid was killed, and one UK sailors were killed. In the war UK use three cruisers, two heavily armed warships, 900 pro-UK Zanzibar people, and 150 fleets (the soldiers and sailors).

Pig War (1859).
This war happened in 1859, an attack to the hordes of pigs on the island of San Juan which is the border territory between the American and British empire in North America. This event is said to be Pig War because they use pigs to attack plantations and other sectors of the population lives in San Juan.

335 Years of War Without Casualties (1651-1986)
This conflict between the Dutch with a small island nation of Scilly (a territorial which is located in the southeastern sea of Britain), but in this war there is not one grain bullet that was fired during the 335 years and no fatalities have ever preached during this war progress. This war formally ended in 1986, by doing a deal.

Emu Bird War (1932)
Emu war occurred during the seven days between Australian soldiers and the emu bird in November 1932. This war was caused by excessive emu bird populations, who spend a source of food and water in the western Australia. Australian artillery troops led by Major Meredith, every member of the forces armed with two Lewis machine guns and 10,000 rounds of ammunition. This battle is not as fast as imagined, spend a week, as many as 20,000 emu birds had been killed.

Soccer War (1968)

Soccer war, known as la guerra de futbol in Spanish, known also as the 100-hour war. A battle that occurred between El Salvador with Honduras in 1969. The war was triggered by political conflict and the issue of immigration that occurred between the two countries. This war happened in the second round of 1970 FIFA world cup qualification in North America. Salvador sends troops and attack Honduras on 14 July 1969.
An American union organization initiated a ceasefire between the two countries on 20 July, and succeeded. El Salvador's soccer team made it through pre-qualification stage of the World Cup, but in the end they were thrown from the FIFA world cup qualifying group.

Steve Jobs Dead at 56

Apple co-founder and former CEO Steve Jobs has died on Wednesday due to complications from pancreatic cancer at the age of 56. Apple confirmed his passing on its website, although immediately did not give any further details. After several years of successfully fighting the disease (Jobs was first diagnosed with the illness in 2003), Jobs’ health waned in recent years and he was forced to resign from his position as CEO of Apple in August.

Apple’s board of directors offered a statement acknowledging Jobs’ passing:

“We are deeply saddened to announce that Steve Jobs passed away today. Steve’s brilliance, passion and energy were the source of countless innovations that enrich and improve all of our lives. The world is immeasurably better because of Steve. His greatest love was for his wife, Laurene, and his family. Our hearts go out to them and to all who were touched by his extraordinary gifts.”

A statement from Jobs’ family said that he died peacefully surrounded by those he loved, and noted how much he cherished his family. They expressed their thanks to those that had passed on their well-wishes during his extended illness.

Bill Gates, Chairman and former CEO of Microsoft - and Steve Jobs longtime rival - issued a statement expressing his condolences to Jobs family and friends.

"Steve and I first met nearly 30 years ago, and have been colleagues, competitors and friends over the course of more than half our lives. The world rarely sees someone who has had the profound impact Steve has had, the effects of which will be felt for many generations to come," Gates wrote.

Born in San Francisco in 1954 and raised in the Silicon Valley, Steve Jobs began his career as a teenager working for Hewlett Packard. While there, Jobs met future Apple founder Steve Wozniak and the pair began to put together the pieces of what would become one of the most celebrated computer companies in history.

Eat All Your Food or You Will be Fined

Restaurants in the eastern province of Damam, Saudi Arabia, giving fines to customers who do not eat all the food on their plates. This was done in solidarity for the world's poor. Fines will be distributed to charity. Customers do not dispute the existence of this penalty.

"As long as it's for charity I am not questioning the idea," said a restaurant customer. He just hopes that all restaurants in the province will follow.

Another customer said he was surprised with this policy, but he thinks this is a pretty good move to encourage others to do good. "There are other countries such as Somalia are suffering hunger, and I find new ideas helps to promote economic and social awareness, and to teach people to consume the right amount of food," said a Saudi man voiced concern with various cases of hunger happening in the world.

According to a British government report, as much as 30 percent of food around the world may be lost or wasted, while other estimates have put the number at around 50 percent.

Just a couple of days ago, HP will abandon the market for smartphones and tablet, failing to stand up to other products on the market. Along with the announcement that surprised many, even considering the recent acquisition of Palm and its mobile operating system WebOS by the company, came news that does not do much honor to the products of HP. A source close to the company would in fact confirmed that HP Tablet was tested on a WebOS iPad 2 and found that the OS you meant about two times faster than HP was on the TouchPad.

iPad tablet is currently the best selling in the market, and the competitors will suffer. Other tablets that have failed to click with consumers include Asustek Computer Eee Pad Transformer and the Xoom from Motorola Mobility, which Google Inc plans to buy. Research in Motion's PlayBook received scathing reviews and sales have been slack, but it will probably survive since it is key to RIM's strategy.

Apple's rivals have not fared any better in designing software for tablets. Apple's iOS tablet software accounted for 61.3 per cent of the tablet market in the second quarter, more than double the 30.1 per cent share held by Google's Android, its nearest competitor. Microsoft held a paltry 4.6 per cent share and RIM 3.3 per cent, according to Strategy Analytics.

Grown in glasshouses, pineberries start off green, gradually turning paler as they ripen.
When the fruit is sweet and juicy enough to eat, the flesh is almost totally white but studded with red seeds - the reverse of the usual variety.

Discovered wild in South America and rescued from extinction by Dutch farmers...they are smaller than most commercially grown strawberries, measuring between 15 and 23mm across - slightly less than an inch.
The pineberry is said to combine the shape and texture of a strawberry with a flavour and smell closer to that of a pineapple.

Former Warrant singer, Jani Lane, has been found dead in a motel room, near Los Angeles on Thursday (11 / 8) evening. He was 47. No official cause of death has been released.
Officer Sara Faden says Jani Lane's body was found in a Woodland Hills hotel. She had no immediate information on the cause or circumstances of his death.
He had an on-and-off relationship with the band, leaving it in 1992 before returning and quitting again several times.
In recent years, Jani Lane appeared in VH1's "Celebrity Fit Club" and made news for a drunken driving arrest.

Most Wanted Terrorist, Osama bin Laden, Killed in Pakistan

Osama bin Laden, the glowering mastermind behind the September 11, 2001, terror attacks that killed thousands of Americans, was slain in his luxury hideout in Pakistan on Monday morning in a firefight with US forces, ending a manhunt that spanned a frustrating decade. After a firefight, a small team of American forces killed bin Laden and took possession of his body, the president said.

President Obama said he authorized the mission to make a move on Bin Laden last week, after several months of planning, and the attack went down in the compound where the Al Qaeda leader was hiding. Bin Laden was killed after a firefight.

Bin Laden's demise comes 9 years, 7 months and 20 days after the 2001 9/11 attacks.

Anne Hathaway has been cast as Catwoman in Christopher Nolan‘s third Batman movie "The Dark Knight Rises". For her role as Catwoman, Hathaway had to compete with several other top beautiful actress Keira Knightley, Rachel Weisz, and Naomi Watts.

Hathaway follow the steps of Liam Neeson and Heath Ledger, who also plays as Batman enemies. In addition to announcing Hathaway as Catwoman, Warner Bros also said that actor Tom Hardy will also take part in the movie as Bane.

Early in the morning of December the 21st, on the winter solstice, there will be a total lunar eclipse. If you live in North America you should have great views of the eclipse. If you live in Western Europe you should be able to see the beginning of the eclipse.

If you don’t see the total lunar eclipse on Monday/Tuesday (depending upon your location) you will have to wait until 2014 to see the next one.

Comedian actor Leslie Nielsen, reportedly died at the age of 84 due to complications of pneumonia, Sunday (28/11).The Canadian actor died at 17:34 local time. Shortly before he died, Nielsen surrounded by his family at a hospital near his home in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, USA. Nielsen was best known for his roles in "Airplane" and the "Naked Gun" series.
