The next Sabor on the Bay San Diego Boat Party is slated to sail again May 27th, 2023. The popular San Diego yacht party hailed as “the largest Latin boat cruise in America” will feature a dress in Black and White theme.

If you are new to the Sabor on the Bay boat parties what you will find will be an exciting mix of Latin dancing ranging from salsa, bachata, cumbia and reggaeton. Typically the event features a live salsa band along with performances by some of San Diego’s best dance companies.

Tickets will go on sale February 10th, 2023 with the event always selling out. Don’t miss out on this fun event and secure your tickets as soon as you can.

The Big Salsa Festival San Diego is coming back again to San Diego this upcoming January 2023. The event which draws salsa dancers from all of the world to “America’s Finest City” is a week long celebration of music, dance and community.

If you are looking to learn how to dance or are a seasoned salsa dancer, the event offers a range of workshops, dance performances and live music to match wherever you are.

Marriott Mission Valley will be the venue for the event which runs Thursday January 12th (pre party) to the end of Sunday January 15th.

Tickets are on sale at the Big Salsa Festival San Diego website here. There you can also find information about lodging options and the full schedule of what you will encounter at the event.

The Dia De Los Muertos Yacht Party is set to sail on October 22, 2022 and with it comes a unique mix of dancing, costumes and live music to enjoy. The 1,200 capacity costume dance party will feature a Dia De Los Muertos theme along with Sonora Dinamita performing live on the boat.

Early bird tickets are now on sale and I recommend you get your tickets now as the event always sells out. You can purchase tickets here.

Oh and don’t forget it is a costume party so bring your best costume to the yacht.

Colombian Independence day is fast approaching and there is no better place to celebrate in San Diego than with the House of Colombia San Diego. The House of Colombia San Diego will be hosting a celebration from 11am to 4pm at the Balboa Park International Cottages (you can find out more information here about the location).

What you will experience is a taste of Colombian culture including great Colombian food and a full cultural program that will feature Colombian history, art and of course dance. The cultural program will be presented by Ballet Esmeraldas de Colombia, a local dance troupe that is well known in the San Diego area. Believe it or not, 13 years have passed since San Diego first saw the Sabor on the Bay Latin boat cruise hit the dance scene. This year’s event on May 28th will feature a mix of live music, rooftop deck dancing and a special themed Reggaeton floor. The theme for the event is to dress in black and white which as we’ve seen over the years can make for some great fashion statements on the dance floor.

The yacht holds a whopping 1,200 people on the 3 hour cruise and offers a great opportunity to see San Diego from a different perspective on the bay. Conjunto Oyo and DJ Ukeim will be hosting the salsa floor, while DJ Rags and DJ Hush will be featuring Reggaeton and Bachata music respectively.

One of San Diego’s largest salsa dance events is coming in January 2022. The BIG Salsa Festival San Diego is a great opportunity to dive into the salsa dance world feet first. The event presents a varied mix of dance classes, dance performances, live concerts and salsa dance parties over the course of 4 days.

For anyone that has ever been to a festival like this you know that the best way to really engage in all of the activities is to attend the entire event by staying on property and taking advantage of the full schedule of offerings. These range from special dance workshops in the morning, a mid day dance party/mixer, watching performances and most importantly dancing at night with other attendees.

The event runs from Friday January 14th to Sunday January 17th, 2022 at the Marriott Mission Valley (there is a special Thursday night January 13th pre party as well). Special passes are available to fit your schedule so if you can’t attend everything you can still participate in seeing shows or other specific activities.
