H.W. Carter & Sons are making their foray into the world of reignited heritage brands. So far, so good in my opinion. Available now on their SITE are aprons and bandanas....surely there will be more to come fast and furious in the near future. I picked up the bandana in navy blue and it's beautifully done and man sized!

Founder and owner David Himel has been busy busting my chops for not having posted on Rivet Head about his fine leather wares. I have to admit, although his blog has been linked on here for some time, I am guilty as charged! So here it is! Himel Brother's is a bespoke Canadian brand that specializes in heritage style leather jackets. Each one is hand made using the finest quality materials and craftsmanship. RIP Johnny Otis (December 28, 1921 - January 17, 2012)

Johnny Otis (Ioannis Alexandres Veliotes) was born in 1921, the son of Greek immigrants. He grew up in a predominantly black neighborhood and absorbed all the richness of the musical culture of the day. He is best remembered for his hit "Willie and the Hand Jive", but his musical prowess extends way beyond one pop hit. Credited with launching LITTLE RICHARD (he fronted his studio band) and Etta James (produced her first hit "Roll With Me, Henry") careers, he brought us the Johnny Otis Show as well as Snatch & the Poontangs! He was an A&R man for King records and discovered seminal acts like Willie Mae Thornton, Jackie Wilson and Hank Ballard. Thank you and RIP Johnny, we salute you!!!

Crime In The Streets (1956)

Tough guys from broken homes lead to broken bottles and broken bones. "Crime In The Streets" is a classic 1950's gang movie that stars John Cassavetes, James Whitmore and Sal Mineo. Rife with all the stereotypes surrounding juvenile delinquency, the plot is about a social worker trying to help out some inner-city boys escape their own base desires. One of the better films out there on the subject matter in my opinion. It's included in the AMC Film Noir Classic Collection 5.

Klaxon Howl A/W 2012

Canadian heritage brand Klaxon Howl has released some excellent looks by photographer Matt Barnes on their BLOG! Their new line has some very interesting pieces that would mix nicely with into any wardrobe. I especially like this Brown's Beach influenced vest!
