Selain malu, sang ibu terpaksa harus nombok duit ratusan juta. Ini semua gara-gara anaknya tak bisa menahan diri untuk mengunduh (download) file yang sebenarnya tak terlalu penting.

Kisah ini bermula ketika anak seorang anggota dewan di Madrid, Spanyol, kesulitan mendapat sinyal Wifi gratisan.
Padahal, dia sudah ngebet banget ingin mengunduh episode terbaru serial Lost yang sedang populer di TV. Alhasil, segala cara dihalalkan, termasuk meminjam modem 3G milik sang ibu--anggota dewan tersebut yang namanya tak diungkap.

Sayangnya, kesuksesan dalam mengunduh file film Lost tak diiringi dengan kesuksesan untuk menghindari tagihan. Sang ibu pun dibuat terkejut saat menerima tagihan dari dewan kota. Tagihan dengan angka U$S 50.000 atau jika dirupiahkan mencapai Rp 600 juta itu disodorkan padanya sebagai bukti bahwa dewan kota telah membayar semua itu.

"Saya tak menyadari hal ini (mengunduh film lewat modem 3G) ternyata bisa menguras biaya sangat besar," sesal sang ibu,

Meski berjanji untuk membayar dewan kota atas biaya 'tak penting' yang telah mereka keluarkan, namun sang ibu juga harus menangung malu di depan dewan kota. Pasalnya, modem yang digunakan sang anak, adalah modem yang disediakan oleh tempat sang ibu bekerja sebagai anggota dewan.

Amazing Top 10 Most Expensive Accidents in History

Throughout history, humans have always been prone to accidents. Some, such as the exotic car crashes seen on this page, can be very expensive. But that's trivial compared to the truly expensive accidents. An accident is defined as "an undesirable or unfortunate happening that occurs unintentionally and usually results in harm, injury, damage, or loss". Our aim is to list the top 10 most expensive accidents in the history of the world as measured in dollars.

This includes property damage and expenses incurred related to the accident such as cleanup and industry losses. Many of these accidents involve casualties which obviously cannot be measured in dollar terms. Each life lost is priceless and is not factored into the equation. Deliberate actions such as war or terrorism and natural disasters do not qualify as accidents and therefore are not included in this list.

10. Titanic - $150 Million

The sinking of the Titanic is possibly the most famous accident in the world. But it barely makes our list of top 10 most expensive. On April 15, 1912, the Titanic sank on its maiden voyage and was considered to be the most luxurious ocean liner ever built. Over 1,500 people lost their lives when the ship ran into an iceberg and sunk in frigid waters. The ship cost $7 million to build ($150 million in today's dollars).

9. Tanker Truck vs Bridge - $358 Million

On August 26, 2004, a car collided with a tanker truck containing 32,000 liters of fuel on the Wiehltal Bridge in Germany. The tanker crashed through the guardrail and fell 90 feet off the A4 Autobahn resulting in a huge explosion and fire which destroyed the load-bearing ability of the bridge. Temporary repairs cost $40 million and the cost to replace the bridge is estimated at $318 Million.

On September 12, 2008, in what was one of the worst train crashes in California history, 25 people were killed when a Metrolink commuter train crashed head-on into a Union Pacific freight train in Los Angeles. It is thought that the Metrolink train may have run through a red signal while the conductor was busy text messaging. Wrongful death lawsuits are expected to cause $500 million in losses for Metrolink.

7. B-2 Bomber Crash - $1.4 Billion

Here we have our first billion dollar accident (and we're only #7 on the list). This B-2 stealth bomber crashed shortly after taking off from an air base in Guam on February 23, 2008. Investigators blamed distorted data in the flight control computers caused by moisture in the system. This resulted in the aircraft making a sudden nose-up move which made the B-2 stall and crash. This was 1 of only 21 ever built and was the most expensive aviation accident in history. Both pilots were able to eject to safety.

6. Exxon Valdez - $2.5 Billion

The Exxon Valdez oil spill was not a large one in relation to the world's biggest oil spills, but it was a costly one due to the remote location of Prince William Sound (accessible only by helicopter and boat). On March 24, 1989, 10.8 million gallons of oil was spilled when the ship's master, Joseph Hazelwood, left the controls and the ship crashed into a Reef. The cleanup cost Exxon $2.5 billion.

5. Piper Alpha Oil Rig - $3.4 Billion

The world's worst off-shore oil disaster. At one time, it was the world's single largest oil producer, spewing out 317,000 barrels of oil per day. On July 6, 1988, as part of routine maintenance, technicians removed and checked safety valves which were essential in preventing dangerous build-up of liquid gas. There were 100 identical safety valves which were checked. Unfortunately, the technicians made a mistake and forgot to replace one of them. At 10 PM that same night, a technician pressed a start button for the liquid gas pumps and the world's most expensive oil rig accident was set in motion.

Within 2 hours, the 300 foot platform was engulfed in flames. It eventually collapsed, killing 167 workers and resulting in $3.4 Billion in damages.

4. Challenger Explosion - $5.5 Billion

The Space Shuttle Challenger was destroyed 73 seconds after takeoff due on January 28, 1986 due to a faulty O-ring. It failed to seal one of the joints, allowing pressurized gas to reach the outside. This in turn caused the external tank to dump its payload of liquid hydrogen causing a massive explosion. The cost of replacing the Space Shuttle was $2 billion in 1986 ($4.5 billion in today's dollars). The cost of investigation, problem correction, and replacement of lost equipment cost $450 million from 1986-1987 ($1 Billion in today's dollars).

3. Prestige Oil Spill - $12 Billion

On November 13, 2002, the Prestige oil tanker was carrying 77,000 tons of heavy fuel oil when one of its twelve tanks burst during a storm off Galicia, Spain. Fearing that the ship would sink, the captain called for help from Spanish rescue workers, expecting them to take the ship into harbour. However, pressure from local authorities forced the captain to steer the ship away from the coast. The captain tried to get help from the French and Portuguese authorities, but they too ordered the ship away from their shores. The storm eventually took its toll on the ship resulting in the tanker splitting in half and releasing 20 million gallons oil into the sea.
According to a report by the Pontevedra Economist Board, the total cleanup cost $12 billion.

2. Space Shuttle Columbia - $13 Billion

The Space Shuttle Columbia was the first space worthy shuttle in NASA's orbital fleet. It was destroyed during re-entry over Texas on February 1, 2003 after a hole was punctured in one of the wings during launch 16 days earlier. The original cost of the shuttle was $2 Billion in 1978. That comes out to $6.3 Billion in today's dollars. $500 million was spent on the investigation, making it the costliest aircraft accident investigation in history. The search and recovery of debris cost $300 million.
In the end, the total cost of the accident (not including replacement of the shuttle) came out to $13 Billion according to the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics.

1. Chernobyl - $200 Billion

On April 26, 1986, the world witnessed the costliest accident in history. The Chernobyl disaster has been called the biggest socio-economic catastrophe in peacetime history. 50% of the area of Ukraine is in some way contaminated. Over 200,000 people had to be evacuated and resettled while 1.7 million people were directly affected by the disaster. The death toll attributed to Chernobyl, including people who died from cancer years later, is estimated at 125,000. The total costs including cleanup, resettlement, and compensation to victims has been estimated to be roughly $200 Billion. The cost of a new steel shelter for the Chernobyl nuclear plant will cost $2 billion alone. The accident was officially attributed to power plant operators who violated plant procedures and were ignorant of the safety requirements needed.

You know the feeling. Call it a senior moment, absent-mindedness or a sign of what a busy active brain you have. We’ve all asked ourselves that irritating question: “Where on earth did I leave my car keys?”

Now a team of Japanese scientists claim to have come up with the answer. And the secretive artificial intelligence project codenamed Smart Goggle does not stop at elusive keys. With Yasuo Kuniyoshi’s invention balanced on your nose, nothing – be it the remote control, mobile phone or iPod – should ever go missing again.

Simply tell the glasses what you are looking for and it will play into your eye a video of the last few seconds you saw that item.

Built on to the glasses is a tiny camera which makes a constant record of everything the wearer sees: the tiny display inside the glasses identifies what is being scanned and a small readout instantly announces what the computer thinks the object probably is. For some things that look different from a range of angles, however, the glasses offer only a “best guess” – they are better at identifying a guitar and a chair than a coathanger or battery.

The hardware itself is not extraordinary: what has taken Professor Kuniyoshi several years to perfect is the computer algorithm that allows the goggles to know immediately what they are seeing. It is, he says, a problem that has always vexed the fields of robotics and artificial intelligence.

But working in a team with Tatsuya Harada, one of Japan’s masters of the science of “fuzzy logic”, Mr Kuniyoshi believes he has cracked the problem. Behind the goggles is possibly the world’s most advanced object recognition software and a computer that can learn the identity of new objects within seconds.

So if the user wanders round the house for about an hour telling the goggles the name of everything from that coathanger to the kitchen sink, they will remember. Then if, at some point in the future, you ask them where you last saw a particular item, they will play the appropriate footage.

Professor Kuniyoshi has even greater ambitions for his software, ambitions that owe a lot to the visual display of the Terminator of science fiction. He describes his goggles as the ultimate connection between the real world and the cyber world and believes that they could eventually be loaded with vast quantities of data from the internet.

With that database installed, the glasses might actually know much more about what the wearer is seeing than the wearer himself – species of animal, technical specifications of vehicles and electronics, or even the identity of people. In a demonstration, the professor showed how the user might, for example, gaze at a selection of unknown flowers and the glasses would say which were begonias, which were ferns and which were pansies.

Although the experimental model, shown exclusively to The Times yesterday, is still too bulky for daily use, the team at the Tokyo University School of Information Science and Technology are confident that it can soon be miniaturised. It could even, they suggest, be small enough to look little different from a normal pair of glasses.

But unfortunately, of course, there is one irritating question they would not be able to answer: “Now where did I put my glasses?”

Are your curious to know who some of the biggest Google Adsense earners are? I know that I was interested to know who the best are so I could check out their websites and see how I could possibly earn as much money as these people do. I realized from most of these sites that sites with user generated content usually ranked pretty highly for Google Adsense earners. It seems that these “community” type sites do tend to get a lot of traffic and we all know that traffic = money. So without any more delay here are a list of the top 8 Google Adsense earners as collected from online resources.

1. Markus Frind - PlentyOfFish.com - $300,000 per month

If you haven’t heard of this guy yet you should check out the website plentyoffish.com. He is the person who created this free online dating website from his appartment all by himself. His website soon become one of the largest dating websites online. I have actually tried out his website myself and can see how it can be interesting and attract a lot of visitors. The graphics and layout of the website is nothing fancy at all but the functionality is all there and its fast to use.

There have been many of doubts that he wasn’t making that much money so he made those people silent by posting this on his blog. According to his blog this represented two months worth of Adsense earnings.

2. Kevin Rose - Digg.com - $250,000 per month

Kevin Rose started Digg.com in December 2004. It is a social marketing site that is mostly news, video, and pictures that are submitted by users for other users to read about and view. Basically what happens is you can signup for an account and you can submit a “news story” and other people can view it and if they like it they can “Digg it” and this boosts the rating of the post. If it gets enough Diggs it will appear on the Frontpage of the site and will get tons of traffic. Digg has both Google Adsense ads and Federated Media ads. It is estimated that he earns roughly $250k a month from Adsense alone.

3. Jeremy Schoemaker - $140,000 per month

ShoeMoney is considered to be one of the greatest Internet Marketers out there. He is very good with search engines and knows how to setup his sites to get optimal traffic to them. In one of his best months with Google Adsense ShoeMoney earned $132,994.97. You can imagine it was probably pretty difficult for him to cash a check of that size!

Unlike most of the other Google advertisers ShoeMoney makes his money from hundreds of sites and thousands of domains.

4. Jason Calacanis - Weblogs, Inc. - $120,000 per month

Jason Calacanis is the creator of Weblogs. Weblogs is a network of blogs and it was apparently making roughly $4,000 a day from Google Adsense! He eventually sold the company to AOL for a reported $25 million. He also announced his retirement from blogging earlier this year (July 2008). He is now focusing on his email campaigns instead.
5. David Miles Jr. & Kato Leonard - FreeWebLayouts.net- $100,000 per month

According to a Washington Post article these 20 year old’s claim to be making $100,000 a month from their site FreeWebLayouts.net which offers free Myspace templates. That is pretty impressive for a couple of young guys that are offering free Myspace templates!

6. Tim Carter - AskTheBuilder.com - $30,000 per month

Tim Carter is a licensed master plumber and carpenter with his own radio show. He started his website up in 1995 with his primary focus to cater to an avid following of fellow builders on the site. In April 2004, Carter learned about Adsense for content sites and he put it on his site. With minimal effort and time he optimized his website and his Adsense earnings grew from $1,500 to $7,500.

There was a Google case study done on Tim Carters earnings with Google Adsense. You should definately read it by clicking HERE. Read the results section because it gives a bunch of helpful tips on how he increased his revenue with Google Adsense.
7. Joel Comm - e-book - $24,000 per month

Joel Comm is a get rich quick guru. He wrote an e-book, What Google Never Told You About Making Money with Adsense. With his e-book and his website he earned $23,458.46 between Nov 2005 and Dec 2005. Check out his Google account stats here.

8. Shawn Hogan - DigitalPoint.com - $10,000 per month

Shawn Hogan is the creator of the forum DigitalPoint. This forum is a very usual forum with lots of information about: Search Engines, Marketing, Business, Design & Development, and Products & Tools. In a New York Times article it stated that he was making roughly $10k a month with Google Adsense.

The members of his forum speculate he is now making around double of what he was making in 2005 when this report was published in the New York Times.

So there you have it, the Top 8 Google Adsense earners. This list might be slighty out of date and there could be some new people in this list but this is the list I was able to pull from collecting information on the net. So check out these sites and see if you can strive to earn as much as these people do with your website or blog.

Jakarta - Baterai ramah lingkungan yang satu ini benar-benar unik. Betapa tidak? Baterai yang dinamakan NoPoPo tersebut bisa diisi ulang dengan memanfaatkan beragam cairan, termasuk air kencing.

baterai ini dibuat perusahaan bernama Aqua Power System yang berbasis di Jepang. NoPoPo sempat dipamerkan di perhelatan CES (Consumer Electronic Show) 2009 yang belum lama berakhir.

Selain dengan air kencing, isi ulang NoPoPo juga bisa memanfaatkan air bir, jus apel, dan minuman cola. Caranya cukup dengan memasukkan cairan pada penampung kecil yang ditautkan di baterai.

Dilansir PcMag, cairan tersebut dipakai untuk membangkitkan reaksi antara magnesium dan alumunium di baterai. Daya yang ada memang tidak sekuat baterai AA pada umumnya, hanya cukup mendayai perangkat seperti jam mungil.

Baterai NoPoPo ini sudah tersedia di negara Jepang. Adapun banderol harganya sekitar US$ 15 per unit.

Gw seh uda tebak aja pas ada pak pos dateng nganter surat atas nama RIVKI SUARDI, soalnya JARANG banget ada orang ngrim surat ke gw. kalo pun ada itupun dari KAMPUS TERCINTA ngirimin surat berisikan hasil IPK gw yang membuat orang tua komat kamit !

Graham Hess hanya bisa berdiri terpana menatap lapangan terbuka di hadapannya. Kedua anak dan adiknya tidak kurang tercengang. Hamparan ladang jagung mereka kini seolah pitak.

Adegan film “Signs”/Foto: Touchstone Picture

Yang ditemukan Hess, tidak lain adalah crop circle, fenomena “lukisan” di ladang jagung atau gandum. Pohon-pohon jagung yang tadinya tegak berdiri, rebah teranyam rapi membentuk lingkaran yang terbentang luas di tengah ladang jagung miliknya. Hess pun tidak pernah membayangkan temuannya menandai peristiwa besar, tidak hanya bagi dia dan keluarga tapi juga dunia.

Setidaknya itulah yang digambarkan oleh sutradara M. Night Shyamalan dalam film terbarunya “Signs”. Signs (simbol/tanda) intinya menceritakan pertanda. Pertanda keberadaan makhluk asing yang siap membinasakan manusia dan adanya Tuhan bagi Hess (Mel Gibson) hingga akhirnya mantan pendeta ini mendapatkan keyakinannya kembali dan menjadi pendeta lagi.

Shyamalan yang sudah menghasilkan film bergengsi seperti The Sixth Sense, menjadikan fenomena crop circle sebagai landasan bergulirnya kisah Hess. Meskipun bukan inti cerita, dia dengan serius mengadopsi teori crop circle (sebagai navigasi UFO) dan makhluk asing yang sudah beredar selama ini. Bahkan hingga penggambaran makhluk asing yang kerap digambarkan berwarna hijau dengan jari-jari panjang bak jari ET, makhluk asing kreasi Steven Spielberg.

Crop circle sendiri bukanlah fenomena modern. Keberadaannya sudah disebut-sebut dalam teks akademis di akhir abad 17, dan hampir 200 kasus dilaporkan sebelum 1970. Beberapa di antaranya lengkap dengan saksi mata. Sejak itu, sekitar 80 saksi mata mulai dari British Columbia hingga Australia melaporkan pembentukan crop circle. Perhatian serius terutama pada lingkaran sederhana di tahun 1980 di selatan Inggris. Motif ini awalnya muncul dalam bentuk lingkaran sederhana, lingkaran bercincin, dan variasi dari salib Celtic hingga pertengahan 1980. Kemudian bertambah dengan bentuk garis lurus, piktogram, dan lainnya.

Saking banyaknya kasus yang dilaporkan di Inggris dan kebanyakan di ladang jagung, membuat fenomena ini sempat dikenal sebagai lingkaran jagung Inggris (English Corn Circle). Meskipun tidak sekompleks English Corn Circle, di era 80-an banyak juga kasus lingkaran tunggal yang dilaporkan di berbagai belahan bumi. Di antaranya di Australia, Kanada, dan Jepang, dan sedikit di Amerika. Biasanya, kasus-kasus terbentuknya crop circle ini dibarengi penampakan radiasi sinar, bola cahaya, kolom cahaya berwarna terang, atau bahkan benda terbang.

Sesudah 1990, kerumitan rancangan crop circle berkembang pesat, dan sekarang bukanlah hal yang luar biasa jika menemukan motif crop yang meniru fraktal komputer dan elemen yang berkaitan dengan proses empat dimensi dalam fisika kuantum. Ukurannya pun ikut berkembang, bahkan merambah hingga seluas 200.000 kaki persegi.

Terhitung tahun 2002, total 139 crop sign sudah ditemukan, sebagian besar di antaranya di Inggris. Temuan terbaru yang menghebohkan adalah di ladang gandum Winchester, Inggris, Agustus lalu (15/8). Melukiskan wajah tipikal makhluk asing dengan lingkaran berpola sedemikian rupa hingga berefek kotak-kotak berwarna tua-muda membentuk spiral. Mengagumkan, tapi Paul Vigay, seorang pengamat menganggapnya lelucon meski ia tak menyangkal kalau formasi ini merupakan tipuan yang rumit dan direncanakan baik.

Tidak hanya itu, konfigurasi pada lingkaran kemudian diartikan sebagai data binari. Dengan American Standard Code for Information Interchange (ASCII), didapat pesan yang intinya adalah peringatan (”Beware the bearers of FALSE gifts & their BROKEN PROMISES dst”). Penemuan menarik, tapi malah semakin membuat orisinalitas formasi ini diragukan.

Vigay bahkan dengan sinis menyebutkan, waktu ditemukan formasi yang bersamaan dengan beredarnya film Signs semakin menimbulkan prasangka. Bukan cuma itu. Patut dipertanyakan juga adalah penggunaan sistem Amerika dalam menguraikan kode, sementara formasi ini ditemukan di Inggris. ASCII, sistem yang ditemukan oleh sejumlah ilmuwan komputer Amerika di tahun 1960 ini, bukanlah merupakan isyarat universal.

Kaitannya dengan pertanda, ada juga dari kalangan penggemar crop circle yang menghubung-hubungkan crop circle dengan kejadian tertentu. Seperti crop circle yang ditemukan di Milk Hill, Agustus 14/8 tahun lalu. Bentuknya terdiri dari satu lingkaran utama dengan enam jari-jari yang masing-masingnya terdiri dari 13 lingkaran dalam ukuran yang bertingkat (kecil ke besar ke kecil) melengkung searah jarum jam berpusat di lingkaran utama. Karya seni” ini menyerupai putaran kincir bertangan enam yang simetris dengan ukuran keseluruhan mencapai 1.000 kaki. Crop circle ini dikaitkan dengan pertanda kejadian 11 September 2001. Namun sebagian kalangan membantahnya karena perhitungan satu juta dikali 9/11/2001 sama dengan 409 (jumlah seluruh lingkaran), bisa dianggap ramalan terbalik. Banyak kemungkinan untuk mendapat 409 ini.

Yang juga menarik, ada yang mengkaitkan formasi ini dengan angka pi, angka sakti yang dibahas keistimewaannya oleh Carl Sagan dalam bukunya, Contact. Angka 409 (jumlah seluruh lingkaran) dengan 13 lingkaran di masing-masing tangan, jika diuraikan juga menghasilkan angka 13 (4+0+9). Angka 13 dikali 10 dan pi adalah sama dengan 409. Lingkaran terbesar (lingkaran ketujuh) pada masing-masing tangan adalah 22 m. Didapat 22/7, angka pi!

Memang banyak yang berpikir bahwa keunikan formasi crop circle sesungguhnya menyimpan rahasia kehidupan dilihat dari formasi yang memiliki kesamaan dengan hal-hal yang dekat dengan kehidupan kita. Di antaranya dengan pola sistem transmisi listrik dan magnetik yang digambarkan oleh si jenius Nikola Tesla.

Berbagai teori

Di antara banyaknya teori yang berkembang, ada yang menganggap terbentuknya crop circle karena adanya anomali pergerakan udara seperti angin puting beliung. Teori ini dibantah karena angin semacam ini biasanya menyapu bersih jalur yang dilewatinya. Ada juga yang mengaitkannya dengan percobaan rahasia. Namun bisa jadi yang paling mungkin adalah dengan sinar infra merah atau gelombang elektromagnetik seperti sudah dicoba oleh peneliti.

Meskipun berbagai teori ilmiah sudah dikemukakan, tak urung teori tipuan dan lelucon ikut mengemuka bahkan mendapat publikasi lebih. Seperti Doug dan Dave yang pada 1991 mengaku sebagai pembuat crop circle di selatan Inggris sejak 1978 dengan menggunakan sebilah papan yang diberi tali. Mereka pun memperagakannya di depan peneliti dan media namun setelah dihadapkan dengan bukti-bukti dari peneliti, duo ini menarik pengakuan mereka, tanpa media. Tahun 1998 , Doug Bower, salah satu dari duo pengecoh, kembali menyatakan bahwa “sebuah tenaga gaib” menyuruhnya membuat crop circle.

Tak kurang Discovery channel terjebak dalam “kehebohan” fenomena ini hingga dituding melakukan penipuan pada salah satu episodenya yang menggambarkan bagaimana kamera menangkap basah pembuat crop circle. Dengan berbagai bukti, sebagian pengamat menilai apa yang ditampilkan oleh saluran bergengsi ini adalah tipuan kamera dan penyuntingan.

Boleh saja orang menganggap apa yang ditunjukkan Discovery adalah benar dan pengakuan duo ini mengandung kebenaran, bahwa crop circle hanyalah permainan segelintir orang. Namun melihat karya yang dihasilkan juga bukan tidak mungkin rasanya jika sesungguhnya lebih dari sekadar tangan manusia yang berperan. Yang pasti, segalanya mungkin. Apalagi bagi Yang Maha Kuasa.

Chris Chike and other top Guitar Hero players have exceptional skill. Although it no doubt took an extraordinary amount of practice, top Guitar Hero's have well above average manual dexterity, finger speed, and hand-eye coordination. Becoming a real "Guitar Hero" like Chris Chike requires great persistence and practice along with a lot of natural skill. Most can not expect to rival his speed or accuracy, but there are a few things that we can take away from watching him play.

Use all 4 fingers: Many players neglect to use their pinky during play. Using your pinky proficiently can drastically improve your ability to play quickly.

Relax, and Concentrate: Great players describe their state of mind during play as "trancelike." Often, the less you think about what you are doing, the better you will do. Let yourself get into the song, feel the rhythm, and let your fingers do the rest. Don't worry about missing a few notes, keep playing, and you will recover more quickly.

Learn the Slide: Expert level songs require that you play each note very quickly. Chris and other top players have learned to "slide" their fingers from fret to fret in order to cut down on the amount of time it takes to play each note. Whammy Bar Perfection: The whammy bar is used when playing long notes. The faster you move the whammy bar, the more points you get. Chris plays a fast whammy on every long note.

Star Power Optimization: Chris has played often enough to know when and how to use "Star Power." (Players get star power bonus by completing strings of notes with no errors) When star power is then activated, it doubles the points you get while under "Star Power." By using "Star Power" during the most appropriate times, he can maximize his score.

Master the Pick: Songs like "Through the Fire and Flames" by DragonForce require you to play notes very quickly. Most players simply strum downwards. By strumming down, and then back up quickly, it is possible to play notes much more quickly.

2. Halo 3

The Masters:

Tom Taylor, or Tsquared as he is known by his famous pseudonym, is widely considered one of the worlds best Halo Players. He is the team leader of Str8 Rippin and has signed a $250,000 contract with Major League Gaming. He reportedly earns between $120,000 and $150,000 per year in tournament winnings and endorsement deals. Tsquared and his team have been a major force in Competitive Halo gaming, winning or placing in nearly every major tournament. Str8 Rippin is sponsored by Dr. Pepper, Panasonic, and HBO

Time your power ups. By figuring out the length of time it takes for new weapons and power ups to reappear on the map, you gain a distinct advantage.

Learn the maps. Without knowing the maps intimately, you will not be able to compete with those that do.

Use the combo BYYB for a faster melee. Basically it is a Melee attack, quick weapon change (which cancels the melee animation, and then quick Melee attack again.) This will score maximum damage in a minimum amount of time.

In November of 2007, MTV's Total Request Live held the finals of their Rock Band Tournament. The two finalists, the bands "Hellanor Brozevelt" and "Carrie Me Home," were the winners of the Rock Band US Tour. Second to Drums, vocals can also be quite difficult. Jamal was challenged by Thompson following his International victory, and subsequently slaughtered
Thompson in a 49-7 Victory. To take home the International Crown, Jamal George defeated the German

According to George, the secret to being good at Madden is to have the kind of mind set and
dedication a real football player might have. Lots and lots of practice is the key to mastery,
and a very good overall understanding of the game itself. The complexities of football are numerous
and good decision making on the field requires the user to know what their options are at all times.
In addition to knowing the game, knowing the teams is also an essential component to playing well at
Madden, says George. The sophistication of Madden games goes so far as to offer certain types offense/defense

In conjunction with the release of Super Smash Bros Brawl in the United States, Gamestop launched the largest Super Smash Bros tournament to date with more than 80,000 participants competing in stores around the country. The overall winner was 18 year old Lee Martin of Houma, Louisiana, taking home a grand prize of $5,000 and recognition as the best Super Smash Bros Brawl player in the United States.

Their Skills:

According to Lee, he's been playing since he was 10, giving him 8 years of playing experience. While this certainly makes a difference, it's not the only contributing factor to his success. Lee also prides himself on his depth of knowledge of the game. He is proficient with many of the characters, and intimately knows each players strengths and weaknesses. After winning the tournament Lee also noted that "It's not how good you train, it's how good the people you train with are." Playing with people at your level or better is a sure-fire way to improve your play.

Improving Your Game:

Here are the top 10 tips for playing and winning taken from Lee's style of play.

Become an expert on the character you play. Learn all of the characters moves, strengths, and weaknesses.

Learn your opponent's exploits. Each character has a certain number of weaknesses that can be exploited to your gain. The more of these you are familiar with, the further you can expect to get in tournaments.

If your character has a counter move, learn how to use it. Some characters (Such as Marth or Lucario) can counter attacks from other players, if used correctly, they will always work.

Don't always rely on items for a victory: Racing to grab a pokeball before everyone else is fine if you get it, but if you don't, you can be caught in the path of a legendary pokemon that will kill you quickly.

Smash Balls can be your friend, or enemy. Just like getting an item, getting a smash ball usually means you will own the match for a while, but getting it is risky. Jumping around to get a smash ball, only to miss it, will again land you in the path of destruction by whoever did get it.

Learn how to play without items: While items usually secure a good victory, using them relies not your skill, but throwing an object to win. Sometimes there will not be items (tournaments usually turn most items off to make it fair). Turn off items sometimes and see how you do without that golden hammer.

Take a five minute break to cool off. Sometimes playing can get intense and you wind up losing and not wanting to play anymore. Playing while angry is not better. You attack mindlessly. Get up, get a drink or a snack and come back in a few minutes. You should be calmed down and ready for round two.

Let the arena do the work: Depending on where you are playing, there are high chances you will be killed at least once due to something in the arena. A spike pit, the screen moving, etc. Sit back, and focus on avoiding these things and you may wind up with a lot less deaths than everyone else.

Play against real people: A level nine computer can be hard, but after a while, predictable. Play against your friends as often as you can, because they tend to play without a pattern.

Learn to use recovery moves: Your recovery move is sometimes the only thing that can save you when you are knocked off the edge. They're unique per character; R.O.B. with his limited fuel, Pit and Meta Knight with gliding, etc. Learn to use them correctly, if you don't, they may wind up doing more harm than good.

Obama's new BlackBerry: The NSA's secure PDA?

Bill Clinton sent only two e-mail messages as president and has yet to pick up the habit. George W. Bush ceased using e-mail in January 2001 but has said he's looking forward to e-mailing "my buddies" after leaving Washington, D.C.

Barack Obama, though, is a serious e-mail addict. "I'm still clinging to my BlackBerry," he said in a recent interview with CNBC. "They're going to pry it out of my hands."

One reason to curb presidential BlackBerrying is the possibility of eavesdropping by hackers and other digital snoops. While Research In Motion offers encryption, the U.S. government has stricter requirements for communications security.

"Without more details I would have to say that putting sensitive or classified information on a BlackBerry is a risky proposition," said Greg Shipley, chief technology officer at Neohapsis, a governance, risk, and compliance consultancy.

Fortunately for an enthusiastic e-mailer-in-chief, some handheld devices have been officially blessed as secure enough to handle even classified documents, e-mail, and Web browsing.

The Sectera Edge (Credit: General Dynamics)

One is General Dynamics' Sectera Edge, a combination phone-PDA that's been certified by the National Security Agency as being acceptable for Top Secret voice communications and Secret e-mail and Web sites. Through three separate interchangeable modules, it works with Wi-Fi, GSM, or CDMA networks, and is dust-proof, waterproof, and rugged enough to survive repeated 4-foot drops onto concrete. Physically, it's a chunkier second cousin to the Palm Treo 750, though with an additional LCD display below the keyboard.

The price is $3,350 with a two-year warranty, a princely sum that's reflected in the Pentagon-worthy price tags for accessories: a simple adapter for a lighter plug costs $100. (Never again should you complain about how much your civilian analogue costs.)

The Sectera runs a mobile version of Microsoft Windows, including versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Windows Media Player. The NSA claims that the installed versions of Internet Explorer, WordPad, and Windows Messenger are good enough for data that's classified at a level of Secret. Presumably the federal spooks have found a way to protect IE from the numerous security flaws that continue to plague the Internet's most popular browser.

The NSA declined to comment on Monday.

L-3 Communications' Guardian, still in development, is similar, but sports a chunkier antenna and a slightly less conventional keyboard shaped like a V. It, too, runs Windows, boasts a stylus and QWERTY keyboard, supports desktop synchronization, and can be used on secure data plans with AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and, internationally, Worldcell. Files stored locally are encrypted.

Both PDA-phones owe their existence to a Defense Department project called SME-PED, meaning Secure Mobile Environment Portable Electronic Device. Because the SME-PED was explicitly designed to act as a classified-information-friendly replacement for a BlackBerry, it should be an easy switch for a President Obama.

That's assuming he still feels like e-mailing after Inauguration Day. Even though President Bush enjoys the same access to NSA-certified handhelds, he has never resumed his daily e-mail habit from the days when he went by the humble moniker of G94B@aol.com. (On January 17, 2001, Bush sent out this sad farewell: "Since I do not want my private conversations looked at by those out to embarrass, the only course of action is not to correspond in cyberspace. This saddens me. I have enjoyed conversing with each of you.")

At the time, Karen Hughes, one of Bush's closest aides, said that the president chose to abandon e-mail because of public records laws. That includes the Freedom of Information Act, or FOIA, and the Presidential Records Act of 1978.

Obama may find the convenience of wireless e-mail a pleasure difficult to give up. News reports during the presidential campaign described how he relied on his BlackBerry to bypass aides, which was even satirized by the Onion.

He checked e-mail during his daughter's football games, e-chatted with actress Scarlett Johansson, and before the New Hampshire primary told CNET News that the BlackBerry was his favorite gadget. On the other hand, Republican VP candidate Sarah Palin's e-mail breach is still within recent memory, as are the Bush White House's legal troubles stemming from the use of Republican National Committee e-mail systems.

"It's not just the flow of information," Obama said in the recent interview. "I mean, I can get somebody to print out clips for me, and I can read newspapers. What it has to do with is having mechanisms where you are interacting with people who are outside of the White House in a meaningful way. And I've got to look for every opportunity to do that--ways that aren't scripted, ways that aren't controlled, ways where, you know, people aren't just complimenting you or standing up when you enter into a room, ways of staying grounded."

Federal law does explicitly exempt from disclosure any "personal records" that do not relate to the president's official function. Those include electronic records that are "of a purely private or non-public character" and don't relate to official duties; the law lists diaries, journals, notes, and presidential campaign materials as examples. Similarly, FOIA prevents files from being released if the disclosure would significantly jeopardize "personal privacy."

In other words, Obama could choose to keep e-mailing judiciously, and trust his lawyers and the law to fend off overly nosy journalists and historians.

Wireless devices: What price convenience?

One thing that security experts can agree on is that despite RIM's efforts, a BlackBerry probably isn't up to the security standards for a leader of the free (or even unfree) world.

BlackBerrys can become infected with viruses that install spyware or turn the microphone on and record conversations, malware can be inadvertently downloaded, e-mail and text messages can be intercepted, and, of course, they can be lost or stolen, said Dan Hoffman, chief technology officer of SMobile Systems, which sells antivirus software for the devices.

The National Vulnerability Database, which is sponsored by the Department of Homeland Security's National Cyber Security Division, lists 14 vulnerabilities for BlackBerrys. Those include ways that a malicious attacker can install malware, and perhaps crash the device through a so-called denial of service attack.

The U.S. government uses special ciphers for secret information and they use different data networks from the public data networks, said Phil Dunkelberger, chief executive of encryption provider PGP Corp. "Unless you're using point-to-point encryption technology...or the mail itself is encrypted, you would have exposure to people administering the network." "You can identify where a person is without gaining access to the cell phone network just by the timing of the signals, Atkinson said. "You can identify who is sitting in which seat in a conference room from a couple thousand feet away."

Then again, it's not like the president of the United States and his entourage travel incognito that often.

Jakarta - Keinginan warga Indonesia untuk melihat salah satu klub terbesar Eropa, Manchester United, datang bakal segera terpenuhi. Juli nanti, MU bakal hadir ke Jakarta.

Kepastian tersebut didapat ketika MU mengumumkan jadwal tur Asianya. Jakarta akan menjadi kota ketiga dari empat kota persinggahan 'Setan Merah' di Benua Kuning.

Seperti diumumkan di situs resmi klub, MU bakal datang ke Jakarta pada tanggal 24 Juli 2009. Stadion Gelora Bung Karno bakal jadi tempat pertandingan antara juara Liga Inggris itu melawan para bintang Indonesia Super League.

Sebelum di Jakarta, MU akan terbang dari Manchester tanggal 16 Juli menuju ke sebuah kota di China yang belum ditentukan. Tanggal 20, The Red Devils mengunjungi Seoul dan bermain di Stadion Piala Dunia.

Dari Jakarta, MU bakal terbang ke Malaysia. Di sana, mereka akan bertanding melawan Malaysia XI di Stadion Shah Alam atau Stadion Bukit Jalil pada tanggal 26 Juli.

"Tur kami ke Asia selalu spesial. Atmosfer yang dihasilkan para penonton luar biasa. Kami menikmati dukungan tak terhingga di benua itu dan menyenangkan bisa memberikan kesempatan untuk melihat pahlawan mereka beraksi di negara mereka sendiri," sambut Chief Executive MU David Gill.

"Tur ini akan mengunjungi wilayah baru. Di Malaysia, di mana kami tak pernah bermain lagi di sana sejak 2001, dan satu lagi di Indonesia. Jadi, kami menjanjikan akan memberi pengalaman baru yang luar biasa," tandas Gill.

Ini memang kali pertama pemegang 17 titel jawara Liga Inggris itu mengunjungi Indonesia. Besarnya dukungan fans di Nusantara tampaknya menjadi pertimbangan utama MU untuk akhirnya datang.

Segitiga Bermuda Indonesia?

LAGI-lagi kecelakaan di perairan Majene membuka awal tahun dengan memakan ratusan korban jiwa. Setelah pada 1 Januari 2007 pesawat AdamAir menyelam dan kemudian menjadi penghuni dasar perairan Majene, kini KM Teratai ikut menemani pendahulunya pada Minggu 11 Januari lalu.

Seperti diberitakan, KM Teratai Prima kandas sekira pukul 04.00 WIB dini hari. Kapal yang berangkat dari Parepare dengan tujuan Samarinda, diprediksi terhempas cuaca buruk. Cuaca buruk dilaporkan datang begitu cepat, sehinggap Kapten KM Teratai tidak sempat mengirimkan tanda pertolongan, juga membuat koordinat kapal tidak diketahui.

Peristiwa yang diketahui sekira setengah hari sesudahnya itu, masih menyisakan ratusan orang penumpang yang hilang. Sejauh ini korban yang berhasil ditemukan sebanyak 35 orang, dengan satu di antaranya meninggal dunia, dari 250 orang penumpang menurut data manifest.

Penyebab kecelakaan ini masih belum bisa dipastikan. Namun pejabat-pejabat terkait menduga kecelakaan dikarenakan dua kemungkinan. Yakni cuaca buruk, atau penumpang berlebih yang diangkut oleh KM Teratai. Namun kedua kemungkinan tersebut, bisa jadi menjadi penyebabnya secara bersamaan.

Jika berdasar data manifest, penumpang KM Teratai saat berangkat berjumlah 250 orang dari daya tampung maksimal berjumlah 500 orang. Jika hal ini benar, maka faktor kelebihan penumpang bisa disingkirkan.

Selanjutnya ditinjau dari cuaca. Pada saat kejadian diketahui, cuaca di Perairan Majene diprakirakan buruk oleh Badan Meteorologi dan Geofisika (BMG) setempat. Namun Kapten dilaporkan, tetap bersikukuh berlayar ke Samarinda. Nahas cuaca buruk pun menggulung KM Teratai.

Ombak besar yang menggulung KM Teratai diceritakan datang secara tiba-tiba bersamaan dengan cuaca buruk, dan disusul dengan angin puting beliung. Sehingga tak ayal, KM teratai terhempas. Beruntung sekitar belasan penumpang yang selamat diketemukan para nelayan pantai Majene. Sehingga bisa mengabarkan peristiwa tersebut ke pihak yang berwajib.

Besarnya jumlah penumpang yang masih dinyatakan hilang, membuat terbentuknya Tim SAR gabungan yang terdiri dari Deplu, KPLP, Polri, TNI AL, dan Basarnas. Setelah penurunan Tim SAR gabungan ini, keberadaan KM Teratai cukup mengejutkan. Karena letak koordinat KM Teratai berdekatan dengan pesawat Boeing 737-400 AdamAir yang bernomor penerbangan DHI 574 pada 1 Januari 2007 silam.

Hal ini diketahui dari letak koordinatnya. KM Teratai berkoordinat 3.52.46 LS dan 118.43.49 BT, sedangkan pesawat AdamAir di koordinat 3.13.92 Lintang Selatan, dan 119.9.17 Bujur Timur.

Sontak keberadaan ini semakin menguatkan mistisme perairan Majene yang disebut-sebut sebagai Segitiga Bermuda-nya Indonesia. Namun secara logis hal ini masih terbantah dengan adanya analisa cuaca buruk yang sedang melanda Perairan Majene.

Pasalnya pada rentang waktu yang sama, muncul embrio Badai Charlotte di Samudera Hindia. Kemunculan badai ini membuat gejolak laut di berbagai wilayah di Indonesia. Badai Charlotte mempengaruhi kecepatan angin. Sehingga menciptakan gelombang hingga berketinggian 3 hingga 5 meter.

Itu masih embrionya, belum biangnya. Kalau biangnya, mungkin puluhan kapal yang saat itu berlayar sudah banyak yang kandas. Fenomena alam tidak mungkin dilawan, seyogya mengenali karakternya untuk dihindari.

Dari peristiwa KM Teratai, kapten kapal sudah diperingatkan adanya cuaca buruk yang tidak memungkinkan kapal melakukan pelayaran. Namun kapten yang bernama Sabir (40), keukeuh untuk berlayar. Pantas saja, kapal berbobot 500 ton tersebut terhempas.

Jadi sementara ini bisa disimpulkan, musibah ini dikarenakan faktor cuaca dan sikap keras kepala manusia. Jadi, masihkah percaya Segitiga Bermuda Majene?

Mobil Obama Anti Segala Macam Teror

Setelah dipastkan mobil Cadillac menjadi tunggangan sehari-hari Presiden AS terpilih Barack Obama, kini kembali beredar kabar bahwa mobil berinitial, 2009, Cadillac Presidential Limousine, anti berbagai teror bahkan serangan granat sekali pun.

Ada yang menyebutnya “Stagecoach,” “The Beast,” “Cadillac One,” dan bahkan “Obamamobile.” Namun, apa pun namanya, limo presiden baru AS ini mendapat banyak perhatian untuk tampilan dan teknologi rahasianya.

Nama resmi limo itu sendiri adalah “2009 Cadillac Presidential Limousine,” dan dibuat secara khusus oleh General Motors (GM) untuk Secret Service. Mobil kepresidenan ini akan digunakan pada saat pelantikan Obama 20 Januari mendatang.

Menurut Detroit News, sebenarnya GM membuat beberapa limo, tetapi jumlah tepatnya tidak diketahui. Yang juga tidak diketahui oleh umum, kecuali beberapa orang di Secret Service dan GM, adalah detail spesifik dari desain limo tersebut. Kebanyakan dianggap rahasia. Ini termasuk bobot dan bahkan ukuran atau tipe mesin. Yang diberitahukan adalah satu: bahwa limo itu dilengkapi dengan CD player 10-disc dan interiornya terbuat dari kulit yang dijahit dengan tangan. Jendela-jendela limo dikabarkan lebih besar dari jendela Cadillac DTS yang digunakan presiden Bush. Tentu saja jendela tersebut antipeluru. Limo juga dilapisi pelindung yang tebalnya minimal 5 inci, dan bagian dalamnya bisa diisolasi dari bagian luar.

Menurut surat kabar Inggris Daily Mail yang membuat ilustrasi dari detail limo, mobil kepresidenan itu akan seperti ini:

- Pelapis baja yang terbuat dari titanium, aluminium, baja keras ganda, dan bahkan keramik.
- Kamera pandangan malam (night vision).
- Sistem pemadam kebakaran on board.
- Lapisan baja 5 inci yang menutupi bagian bawah chassis.
- Ban yang diperkuat dengan Kevlar, antisobekan dan bocor, dengan pinggiran baja di bagian bawah.

Daily Mail juga menyebutkan bahwa limo tersebut menggunakan mesin disel 6,5 liter yang per gallonnya bisa melahap 8 mil, yang berarti tidak seefisien Ford Escape Hybrid milik Obama. Koran ini memperkirakan harga limo mencapai 460.000 dollar AS.

Berikut adalah gambaran Ahmadinejad, yang membuat orang ternganga:

1. Saat pertama kali menduduki kantor kepresidenan Ia menyumbangkan seluruh karpet Istana Iran yang sangat tinggi nilainya itu kepada masjid2 di Teheran dan menggantikannya dengan karpet biasa yang mudah dibersihkan.

2. Ia mengamati bahwa ada ruangan yang sangat besar untuk menerima dan menghormati tamu VIP, lalu ia memerintahkan untuk menutup ruang tersebut dan menanyakan pada protokoler untuk menggantinya dengan ruangan biasa dengan 2 kursi kayu, meski sederhana tetap terlihat impresive.

3. Di banyak kesempatan ia bercengkerama dengan petugas kebersihan di sekitar rumah dan kantor kepresidenannya.

4. Di bawah kepemimpinannya, saat ia meminta menteri2 nya untuk datang kepadanya dan menteri2 tsb akan menerima sebuah dokumen yang ditandatangani yang berisikan arahan2 darinya, arahan tersebut terutama sekali menekankan para menteri2nya untuk tetap hidup sederhana dan disebutkan bahwa rekening pribadi maupun kerabat dekatnya akan diawasi, sehingga pada saat menteri2 tsb berakhir masa jabatannya dapat meninggalkan kantornya dengan kepala tegak.

5. Langkah pertamanya adalah ia mengumumkan kekayaan dan propertinya yang terdiri dari Peugeot 504 tahun 1977, sebuah rumah sederhana warisan ayahnya 40 tahun yang lalu di sebuah daerah kumuh di Teheran. Rekening banknya bersaldo minimum, dan satu2nya uang masuk adalah uang gaji bulanannya.

6. Gajinya sebagai dosen di sebuah universitas hanya senilai US$ 250.

7. Sebagai tambahan informasi, Presiden masih tinggal di rumahnya. Hanya itulah yang dimilikinyaseorang presiden dari negara yang penting baik secara strategis, ekonomis, politis, belum lagi secara minyak dan pertahanan.
Bahkan ia tidak mengambil gajinya, alasannya adalah bahwa semua kesejahteraan adalah milik negara dan ia bertugas untuk menjaganya.

8. Satu hal yang membuat kagum staf kepresidenan adalah tas yg selalu dibawa sang presiden tiap hari selalu berisikan sarapan; roti isi atau roti keju yang disiapkan istrinya dan memakannya dengan gembira, ia juga menghentikan kebiasaan menyediakan makanan yang dikhususkan untuk presiden.

9. Hal lain yang ia ubah adalah kebijakan Pesawat Terbang Kepresidenan, ia mengubahnya menjadi pesawat kargo sehingga dapat menghemat pajak masyarakat dan untuk dirinya, ia meminta terbang dengan pesawat terbang biasa dengan kelas ekonomi.

10. Ia kerap mengadakan rapat dengan menteri2 nya untuk mendapatkan info tentang kegiatan dan efisiensi yang sdh dilakukan, dan ia memotong protokoler istana sehingga menteri2 nya dapat masuk langsung ke ruangannya tanpa ada hambatan. Ia juga menghentikan kebiasaan upacara2 seperti karpet merah, sesi foto, atau publikasi pribadi, atau hal2 spt itu saat mengunjungi berbagai tempat di negaranya.

11. Saat harus menginap di hotel, ia meminta diberikan kamar tanpa tempat tidur yg tidak terlalu besar karena ia tidak suka tidur di atas kasur, tetapi lebih suka tidur di lantai beralaskan karpet dan selimut.
Apakah perilaku tersebut merendahkan posisi presiden?
Presiden Iran tidur di ruang tamu rumahnya sesudah lepas dari pengawal2nya yg selalu mengikuti kemanapun ia pergi. Menurut koran Wifaq, foto2 yg diambil oleh adiknya tersebut, kemudian dipulikasikan oleh media masa di seluruh dunia, termasuk amerika.
