If you need to edit or transfer files on the iPhone and you are using windows, WinSCP is the program you need which allow the usage of STFP (secure file transfer protocol).

steps:

1. You can get WinSCP from this link
2. First make sure you have ssh. you can get ssh on your iphone frm cydia. goto search > ssh.
3. Find your iPhone’s ip is next thing you need inorder to proceed.
goto Settings > Wi-Fi > (Your Wifi connected to) > Look under IP Address
4. Next open WinSCP.
5. Enter the ip address in the dailogue box that appears.  Leave the port as it is, the username and password is

username: root
password: alpine

enter any seession name and press login.

This guide will instruct you on how to rename an app you downloaded off the app store. I know there are some apps that rename programs on an Ipod/Iphone but im not sure if they can rename Retail Apps.

1) SSH Into your Ipod/Iphone

2) Have the app you want to rename already installed on your Ipod/Iphone

3) In WinSCP (or other ssh client) navigate to /private/var/mobile/Applications

4) Find the app you would like to rename, this may be difficult because the real names arent labeled on the folder. Try to sort around by the date added. Click on the weird named folders and it will say the name of the app.

5) Double click the XXXXX.app and locate Info.plist
private/var/mobile/Applications/FB6F78E6-5480-497B-B646-F3F22FF9C1B9/Imaginationland.app/Info.plist

6) Right Click Info.plist and click edit.

7) Notepad should open and find CFBundleName and under it between the string code you can enter whatever you want as as the name

Respring or restart your Ipod/Iphone and the app name will change

This is a tutorial, quide or How to unlock and jailbreak your iPhone or iTouch to firmware 2.1 using windows.

In simple words, Unlocking is basically opening the iPhone to make it work with the call service provider in your region.Jailbreaking is basically done inorder to let you install 3rd party application to you iPhone despite the ones provided by apple.

We will upgrade and unlock your iPhone to firmware version 2.1. The links to all the applications and files needed can be found at the bottom of this post. You can use the aptbackup to backup all your application in teh iPhone, if you are upgrade from a older version

Unlocking and jailbreaking has become so much easier with new software released by iPhone-Dev team. They are also working on the 3g iPhone unlocking and has already jailbroken the iPhone 3G

These steps are simple can be performed easily.

Steps:

1. Download the files and place them in a folder.

2. Download iTunes 8 from apple, The firmware version 2.1 works only with the new iTunes. Connect your iPhone to iTunes and Sync and backup with iTunes.

Then press shift and click the restore icon and select the iPhone firmware that we downloaded into the folder.

3. Open the QuickPwn from the folder.
4. Check that the iPhone is connected using the cable before proceding and press continue

5. Click the Browse button to locate your iPhone firmware from the folder.

6. QuickPwn will check to make sure the ipsw is valid. Click the blue arrow button to continue.
7. You can now select whether to Add Cydia, Add Installer, Replace Boot Logos, and Unlock Phone. Select the ones you would like to perform then click the clue arrow button
8. You will now be asked to select your bootloader files. Click the Browse button and select the 3.9 bootloader from the Pwnage folder on your desktop. Likewise do the same thing for the 4.6 bootloader file. Then click the blue arrow button to continue.

9. QuickPwn will now automatically put your iPhone into recovery mode. Once its in recovery mode you will be prompted to: Hold the Home button for 5 seconds, Hold the Home and Power buttons for 10 seconds, then release the Power button and continuing holding the Home button until your iPhone is in DFU mode.

10. Once jailbreaking is complete QuickPwn will inform you that it was successfull. Your iPhone will then proceed to run BootNeuter. This process will take about 5 minutes. Please be patient. Your iPhone will reboot when it has completed the process successfully!

Their could be several possible reasons and solutions for the above error, basically what is happening is for some reason the CD/DVD burning software is unable to determine the Optimum Power Calibration rate (a small pre-burn test to determine optimal laser power for writing), resulting a disk burn failure. There is no easy way to pinpoint the exact reason, so try all the possible fixes from top to bottom (easy to hard) and see what works:

• Try using different brands of quality blank media, most common reason for such error’s is cheap blank media.
• Try burning at lower speeds (Highly effective).
• Disable IMAPI Service (Work’s in most cases):
  1. Launch Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services .
  2. Browse for “IMAPI CD-Burning COM Service“, Right-click on it and select properties.
  3. Chnage Startup Type to Disabled.

  

• Click Apply and Reboot.
