It’s been a little while since I’ve posted here, but I’m excited to share something new and close to my heart. I've launched a children’s read-aloud channel on YouTube called Sadie, the Story Lady!

Sadie is a cheerful puppet with a big heart and an even bigger imagination. She brings stories to life, reading wonderful books aloud for children and families to enjoy together. Easy Favor Gift Box Tutorial

There's something special about receiving a little gift, especially when it comes in cute packaging. Whether you're preparing for a special occasion or simply want to surprise your friends or co-workers with a sweet treat, crafting this easy favor gift box will add a personal touch!

Note: I am not an Amazon affiliate, but I will provide links in case you want them.

Today, I will walk you through the easy steps to customize these cute paper boxes for any season or gift-giving opportunity. I buy these white houses from Amazon. The price goes up and down, but they always end up under $1.00 each.

There is probably a way to correctly fold them as-is, but I've discovered an easy little trick so the top will open and close (and you can re-use them if you want to).

Step 1: Punch out all of the pieces.

Step 2: Cut the triangle roof edges to the corner on both sides.

Step 3: Fold tabs and close the bottom of the house.

Step 4: Double-sided tape! Again, not an affiliate, but I bought this one from Amazon and it works well.

On the side with the flap, apply a piece of double-sided tape starting near the top. Remove the backing, fold the tabs in and tape them down.

Be careful here!!! On the other side we want to create a little pocket for the flap to go in. This means that we will start the double-sided tape about halfway down (NOT near the top this time). Remove the backing, fold the tabs in and tape them down.

Step 5: At this point, you want to insert the string that comes with the boxes (and/or replace it with ribbon). Start by threading the string through from the inside, go over the top of the box and push it through the little punched out hole on the other side. The shoelace type ends will keep it from pulling back through. If you use a ribbon, make sure to knot the ends.

Step 5: Fill with treats and add decorative touches.

Amazon also has lots of cute "wooden hanging ornaments". That is your "search term". I love gnomes, so for Christmas I made little gift boxes for my co-workers (filled with Lindt chocolate). The tags are only painted on one-side, so you can add your own cute message to the back.

Candy/Lindt Chocolates work well, but I've added packs of gum (and money, too).

Ta-da! I tied the gift tag to the ribbon with baker's twine, so the gnome could be kept/used as a one-sided ornament.

Note: The boxes will also hang on a Christmas tree (or from a branch outside) or wherever...

I can think of so many ways to use these little boxes. How about as a wedding favor with an address label on the bottom? "From our house to yours!"

How about as an easy craft at a Senior Center? The possibilities are endless (I've reordered four times so far)! 😃
