It’s been awhile coming but finally the COMPLETE ROAD CREW and SOMETHING WONDERFUL EATS BABIES are available for Pre-Order. Full details of each book are below, but if you are already set to but, just skip to the end to the paypal links.

The books should be shipped to you in early November. The reason it takes so long, is that once I put in the files with the printer it takes 6 – 8 weeks for them to print them and then send them back to me. Then I have to send them to you. But the good thing is that you will have them in good time for Christmas.

And one thing. I am literally going to print whatever the amount is order (with maybe 10 of each book for the Dublin Con in December) but that’s it. So if you want a signed edition and aren’t going to the Dublin City Comic Con 2010 then this is your only chance. After this the books will be available for indyplanet but as that’s a POD service, there will be no option to get it signed.

Something Wonderful was universally loved by Twitter and Hated by Reddit. But none of that mattered to Something Wonderful, it hated both with equal contempt. SW is probably my most out spoke work to date. It was a perfect avenue for me to poke fun at some of the more established Holy Cows of our modern world, including some of my own beliefs. It’s all in good fun, but I did managed to annoy a lot of Fundamental Atheists and Mac Users along the way.

This is a greatest hits collection, all the strips are FULL COLOUR and reformatted to look fucking excellent in this collection. I am so happy with how this comic ended up. It started as a throw away comic for me, a thing to warm up with in the morning, but quickly turned into my most successful effort to date. Some of my best art is in this collection.

A word about the pricing:

Just to fill you in on the cost involved so that you don’t think I am trying to ripp you off. Paypal alone can take nealy €1.50 or so, the cost of postage is about €3 to €5 depending on where you live and the print costs are about €6 to €8 per book, so I am only making a couple of quid on each book. So although the price might seem expensive but it’s the minimum I can afford to sell them at, giving such small print runs. Hope you understand.

Well to put it simply, so did I.

BUT it seems that that are far to many kind and support people out there to let this happen. Since my announcement on SOMETHING WONDERFUL last week I have been inundated with numerous emails, tweets, facebook message and personal encouragement to urge me to continue, even in some limited way, that I have decided that I am going to do my best to stick to it. It really has been so uplifting to received all the fantastic comments and compliments from you all, it certainly got me out of the rut or dumps or whatever it was that I was in.

Don’t get me wrong, I haven’t suddenly found a solution to all my money woes (has anyone?) but I have a new plan of action which might just work out. I am planning to move all the comics I have done on various sites over to TommieKelly.com So I will be posting Road Crew, From Rags To Rockstars and Something Wonderful in a different format. It will be a classic comic style page format, in the same way that the Road Crew Book Collections are formatted. I will also be putting a number of strips/pages in one post so that the reader will not have to click quite so many times to read through the archives. This is one of my pet peeves of reading comics online and I have never been fully satisfied with the comicpress (brilliant software that it is) system.

Also I will be making available two new book collections, probably on pre-sale at the end of September. These will be the COMPLETE ROAD CREW which will contain all the stories from both ELECTRIC LADYLAND and NOTHING’S SHOCKING but will also include the rest of the stories that didn’t feature in those collections. This will be close to 350+ pages. I am unsure as yet whether the FROM RAGS TO ROCKSTARS storyline FOR SALE will be included as yet.

Also there will be a SOMETHING WONDERFUL book collection which will contain all 85 strips reformatted and will include extensive notes on each strip, the background as well as a number of guest strips and sketches form a host of artist friends.

These books will be available from me in a signed and sketched edition that will, for the time being, only be available through the pre-order. After that the books will be available via IndyPlanet Print on demand service.

AND what about DOWN. Well the feedback has been incredible for the 5 page preview and the Teaser webcomic. My plan for this is to have a 22 page full colour comic out at the same time as the two book collections. The main DOWN storyline will only be available in print as I think this type of storyline works best in a print version. But I will also be posting a number of DOWN webcomics such as the teaser one I have already posted.

So lots happening, hopefully I will be able to get the necessary time to complete all this. But like I said, I have a new plan

My job that pays the bills is teaching music, unfortunately that ended about a month ago and I haven’t earned a penny since. Because I live with my girlfriend I am not entitled to receive any benefit from the government, currently V is paying all the bills. This is putting a huge strain on her, and me, as obviously no one wants to be living off someone else. My job starts again in the middle of September, and in the meantime I will be trying to get a job of some sort to cover me until then.
