With film director Leon Stuparich and his outstanding ‘fly on the wall’ documentary, ‘ROAD TO PEACE,’ charting the Dalai Lama’s visit to the UK and his message of peace. Plus: another chance to meet Jo Berry (Building Bridges for Peace) and hear more of her incredible story of reconciliation and international peace work. The afternoon ends with our annual Candlelit Peace Ceremony with the beautiful voice of Mele Ellis and her song ‘Peace Begins with Me.’

About St Mark’s Church: David Bryce, Scotland’s famous Victorian architect who is best known for building Fettes College and the building which was formerly the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, designed St Mark’s Church which opened in 1835. The building, is situated within the Edinburgh World Heritage Site (EWHS) and has been described as acoustically excellent, slender and light and unpretentious.

The wonderful chanting on stage from the monks and nuns of Kagyu Samye Dzong London greeted people as they entered the cinema.

We were then treated by Katie Rose singing her spellbinding song Road to Peace.

Pemma Fox, daughter of Reginald Fox, British Radio operator Tibet 1947, warmly introduced Road to Peace and the Director Leon Stuparich. She recalled meeting Leon during the filming of Road to Peace and being interviewed about her experience meeting the Dalai Lama.

After the film Simon Paul Sutton Led a profound discussion with Leon, including dialogue on transparency and a meditation on World Peace. The final part of the evening was filled with fantastic interaction with the audience.

This interview of Leon by Rasheed Ogunlaru captures some of the vibe of the night.

Some people were fortunate to see His Holiness the Dalai Lama earlier that day at the Royal Albert Hall as well as attend the screening which made for a full Dalai Lama experience.

The next morning Leon was fortunate to meet with His Holiness at Westminister Abbey and present him with the first DVD copy of Road to Peace. He told him of the work we are doing to promote his spiritual and humanitarian message. He expressed his thanks with a simple but heartfelt “Thank you!”

Since the screening we have been humbled by the interest in the film. We have had screening requests from all over the world, including a screening in Sydney, Australia in July to celebrate HH Dalai Lama’s 77th birthday.

As well as screenings we are preparing to release the film, news of which will be announced soon. We are also about to launch the crowd funding campaign which will give you an opportunity to watch the film and help spread the Dalai Lama’s message of Universal Responsibility.
