January 4th

Weighed in a few days ago, but you probably knew that from the scream that was heard around the world when I stepped on the scale. I stepped off the scale and then back on because the scale was broken the first time… and the second time… and the third… etc. You get the picture, the ugly picture.

Eating wise has gone okay. I haven’t been to Starbucks or the Bagel Bin (my 2011 morning routine) in 2012, so that’s a plus. I did get a Moe’s Burrito on Monday because it’s cheap and somewhat healthy. Then yesterday I ate a grilled chicken sandwich from Dockside Deli and Catering in Mooresville with a small side of pasta salad. Other than that, I’ve made my meals at home.

Speaking of Starbucks, I read this article yesterday and realized I probably could retire in a few years if I invested all the money I have spent there. The title of the article, Starbucks raising prices in some markets, doesn’t really describe what it’s really about. It should be titled, Starbucks and your dwindling savings account.

Okay, I’m out of here for now. Well, not really. My car is in the shop and it’s 30 degrees right now, which is too cold to ride the bike. So that leaves me here to clean, do laundry and ride the trainer. And eat in.

Here we go. Going to weigh in tomorrow, but wanted to post something today. I’m also going for something I should always do, but I’m going to eat in the entire month of January. This will be a huge accomplishment for me if I get through one week, yet alone one month. To prepare for this, I bought a Keurig Coffee Maker and went to the grocery store and purchased a good amount of food. We’ll see how it goes. Keep following me here and let me know that you have read this by commenting or sending me a message.

Happy New Years!
