The Leap is a small iPod sized USB peripheral that creates a 3D interaction space of 8 cubic feet to precisely interact with and control software on your laptop or desktop computer. It’s like being able to reach into the computer and pull out information as easily as reaching into a cookie jar.

The Leap senses your individual hand and finger movements independently, as well as items like a pen. In fact, it’s 200x more sensitive than existing touch-free products and technologies. It’s the difference between sensing an arm swiping through the air and being able to create a precise digital signature with a fingertip or pen.

Marvel’s “The Avengers” continues to shatter box-office records, assembling moviegoers into theaters at an incredible rate. According to a recent report by The Hollywood Reporter, Earth’s Mightiest Movie surpassed $1.07 billion worldwide on Thursday to become the #6 biggest film of all time and the highest-grossing release in Disney history, surpassing both “Toy Story 3″ and “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest.” Additionally, “The Avengers” has taken the throne for the fastest release to reach $400 million domestically, clocking in with about $402 million at the end of Thursday.

The Thursday total puts “The Avengers” within reach of capturing the #2 spot for highest domestic grossing comic book film adaptations from “Spider-Man,” which grossed $403.7 million during its entire life-span. However, Marvel’s film has a long way to go in order to beat “The Dark Knight,” which current sits at $533.3 million domestic, and even further in order to dethrone the top grossing movie of all time, “Avatar,” which grossed $760.5 million during its time in theaters. However, “The Avengers” is well on its way to break the top ten domestic grossing movies of all time, needing only to surpass the $415 million total of “Toy Story 3.”

Ray-Ban is, after all, one of the most popular eyewear brands in the world and this year it is celebrating its 75th year in the business by launching the Ambermatic Collection, a line of its iconic aviator sunnies. The Ambermatic Collection is inspired by Ray-Ban’s very first aviator silhouette, which was launched all the way back in 1937. The shades feature light-sensitive yellow lenses which will darken depending on the light and the temperature and gold rims. The Ambermatic Collection will arrive in June. Each pair will retail for $219.

H&M is taking a different direction with its latest collaboration by joining forces with global style icon Anna Dello Russo. The fashion director at large and creative consultant for Vogue Japan is a fashion week favorite, regularly appearing on best-dressed lists thanks to her extravagant sartorial choices. Her H&M accessories line will hit some 140 stores worldwide and online October 4, comprising jewelry, sunglasses, shoes, bags and a trolley.

Revolution’s pilot episode, will be directed by Jon Favreau (Iron Man, Cowboys & Aliens). The new program will be on NBC on Mondays at 10/9C this fall.

Apple released a new Apple TV update (5.0.1) today. Primarily a bug fix, the update addresses the following issues:

- iTunes previews: Previews for movies and TV shows from the iTunes Store can now be viewed in HD.

- AirPlay: Fixes an issue that caused some iOS apps to have trouble connecting via AirPlay.

- Home Sharing: Improves the reliability of Home Sharing connections.

- Netflix: Addresses an issue affecting Netflix login and navigation.

- Stability and performance: Includes fixes for issues affecting stability and performance.

You can update your Apple TV by selecting Settings > General > Update Software on your unit.

Amazon said Thursday it has signed a deal for the electronic books rights to all seven Harry Potter titles in English, French, Italian, German and Spanish for its Kindle lending library.

The deal allows subscribers of the Amazon Prime service, which requires an annual subscription, to borrow the electronic versions of best-selling JK Rowling books. The ebooks will be available on June 19th.

Amazon said it inked the exclusive license with J.K. Rowling’s Pottermore website to make the titles available to its customers via the Kindle e-reader.

But the deal only allows for borrowing of the ebooks, with Pottermore remaining the only place to buy the electronic versions.

Over a year, borrowing the Harry Potter books, plus a handful of additional titles, can alone be worth more than the $79 cost of Prime or a Kindle. The Kindle Owners’ Lending Library also has an innovative feature that’s of great benefit for popular titles like Harry Potter — unlimited supply of each title — you never get put on a waiting list.”

The Amazon lending library has now grown to over 145,000 books that can be borrowed for free as frequently as once a month, with no due dates.

Books are borrowed to read on a Kindle device, and customers can have one book out at a time. When customers want to borrow a new book, any borrowed book can be returned from their device.
