Greetings Zombie Art Fans and welcome to another zombified day here on your number one source of fresh original living dead illustrations, Zombie Daily! I got some great feedback from my post yesterday asking whether or not you all were enjoying the "Heads of the Living Dead" series, so, as of yesterday, I've decided to do "HotLD" week. This will give me some time to work on some other new images and prepare for a big "Babes of the Living Dead" week. For that, I'd really like to create some brand new material, show some older "blast from the past" images, and even post a hot babe Zombie Portrait or two. I'm going to keep today's chat short so that you can all get back to enjoying your weekend, but I'd just like to thank you all for making Zombie Daily a part of it. 'Hope to see you all again soon!

Heads of the Living Dead : Liquid Brain Zombie

Greetings Zombie Art Fanatics! Another day, another zombified image courtesy of your friendly neighborhood zombie artist Rob Sacchetto! This is, I must say, one of the strangest "Heads of the Living Dead," yet, and such a happy accident. Although I did have a zombie like this in mind to do, I really couldn't "see" it, but I did start this illustration out attempting to do sort of a fish bowl head zombie. So, after I had loosely sketched the image based on the pre drawn skull template, it kind of ended up looking a little lumpy and bubbly,and I thought that I would later fix it to make it look more streamlined, but after tightening up that loose sketch, I began to see more of the image in a way I had not originally intended, and it looked really neat! And there you have it! Sometimes following up on a perceived mistake can be creatively rewarding! I hope that you've all enjoyed this new 'head' drawing today Zombie Nation. Back Cover Album Art Zombie

Greetings Zombie Art Lovers! Today's Zombified image comes courtesy of an album back cover image that I had completed last year. The front of the album cover shows a hula dancing girl strumming a ukelele on a small plot of earth in the middle of the south seas while an enormous volcano is seen erupting in the background behind her. She doesn't notice the flaming debris hurtling towards her and you are left to assume that she is spared the fiery onslaught, however the back cover reveals that she was actually hit and burnt to a crisp by the lava coated boulder. Originally the individuals that commissioned me to do the art just wanted the front cover, but felt bad that I didn't get to draw any undead or zombie material, so they ended up requesting the back cover which shows the obviously deceased but still walking hula girl. i there Zombie Art Fanatics! Today's zombified drawing is from, you guessed it, the "Heads of the Living Dead" Maxi-Series! As well as attempting to try and run the wide gamut of many diverse zombie types, I'm also trying to cover a bunch of different styles of illustration with this series. It's a constant way of keeping the series as fresh as possible because it's all basically based on one skull template looking straight on, in other words, I don't have a lot to work with...or so it would seem. different illustration styles, colors, sometimes not associated with the living dead, and most of all creativity, all go in to keeping this massive series fun to draw and to enjoy visually, I really hope that you are all enjoying it as much as I. Hey there Zombie Art Lovers around the world! Well, the long weekend is over and it's back to being one of the zombified working masses, but here's an image that will shake off the back to work blues! This illustration is one of the newest in the barely clothed new pinups that I've completed recently, in fact this particular image was completed just yesterday as I knew that it would be appreciated today, although most people will not be able to see it on their "work" computers! I must say that there will be more of these to come and I may finally do a serious series of pinup babes, kind of like a "Zombie Playboy" magazine...or "Zomboy" as it were... Hey there Zombie Art Addicts! More Zombified Head action today from Zombie Daily and the incredibly huge series, the "Heads of the Living Dead!" This past long weekend was a very busy one for me Zombie rt wise, as I completed three new couples' Zombie Portraits, started two new Zombie Pinup drawings, and began inking eleven new "heads" drawings! I really had a lot of fun on the new batch and hope that you're all looking forward to seeing more. I've never attempted a series this massive before but I do have some pretty neat plans for the images as a whole once they are all completed. I think that I've got roughly a hundred or so to go, so at the rate that I'm completing them, I should be done by mid September. I'll still be posting new images from the series here while the entire series will be worked on for various presentations and or products. Sketchbook Zombies

Hey there Zombie Art Fans! I don't always have time to sketch in a sketch book, but these zombified images are the kinds of drawings that I do when the time is there, otherwise, I actually sketch and finish drawings in one shot just for this site. Zombie Daily is really my online sketchbook and it really forces me to finish my sketches in their entirety as I rarely have the desire to post unfinished drawings here. Most of these drawings are very quickly executed and some go on to be finished drawings themselves. In the case of the second series of mutant zombies that I did, ALL of the preliminaries had been sketched out in one night while I couldn't sleep, and then over a couple of weeks, they were fleshed out to the giant finished drawings that were eventually posted here. I hope that you enjoyed this rare peek at my sketchbook stuff Zombie Nation, enjoy the rest of this long weekend and come back really soon for more zombie mayhem!

Heads of the Living Dead : Dead Head Hunter Zombie

Greetings Zombie Art Lovers! As is par for the "corpse" here on Zombie Daily, a zombified head follows every other post until I've come to the end of the "Heads of the Living Dead" series, and today is no exception. I haven't once yet been at a loss for ideas for this massive series as I've stated in the past, I believe that zombies are like snowflakes, no two are ever alike, so there are literally thousands of ways that they can be depicted. Having said that, I'm sure that I can come up with a measly 365 for this particular series. While some are strongly based on an existing concept, like today's head hunter zombie, I base the majority simply on the fact that they're the living dead and may or may not be mutated past that. Once again, it is my hope that you are all enjoying this series and I hope also that when it's completed, to create a giant singular image using all of the many heads. Blowhole : A Zombie Daily Blast from the Past

Hey there Zombie Art Lovers all around the world! Wow! I haven't posted a zombified "Blast from the Past" image here on Zombie Daily in quite some time! I really loved the way that this particular image turned out. It's fully fleshed out and complete with rich color and I like the stance and the look on the zombies' face that seems to say "You'll have to do better than that if you want to kill me!" I really would like to do more complete scenes involving zombies for this site but time is always a factor. Posting a new zombie drawing or painting every day is a harsh mistress but one that I see as a wonderful challenge. We're almost at our 1200th post here on Zombie Daily and that is a very huge number of zombie drawings when you think about it, but I do not feel like stopping anytime soon, I just hope that you'll be with me on the next part of this artistic journey Zombie Nation. Heads of the Living Dead : When Hairy Met Zombie

Greetings fellow Zombie Art Lovers! The zombified drawing of the day comes courtesy of the largest series done on Zombie Daily, "The Heads of the Living Dead"! It's sometimes incredible to me how every week I'll do a few of these illustrations and it constantly seems as though I'll never reach my goal of 365. Conversely, there are times when I get so creative and right into creating more of these that I never want it to end. Of course when the time comes, and I've reached the goal, I can always do more. A series should never truly die if there is more quality images to be produced. Lord knows I've never really put a series of drawings permanently on the shelf here on Zombie Daily, there just may be a big gap between drawings from that particular series, or it might come back slightly different like in the case of the Mutant Zombie series. I do hope that you are all enjoying the "heads" series and I also hope to see you all back here on Zombie Daily soon!

Ugly Freak Out Zombie 2

Hey there Zombie Art Freaks! Sometimes an illustration of the undead appears so warped, that you can't tell what it may have looked like before it was zombified! This is especially the case with this very over the top cartoon like style that I used for this drawing which I feel is reminiscent of the style used in the late, great "Ren and Stimpy" animated show. It also bears some resemblance to the Big Daddy Roth style of "Cartoons" fame and owes a little to "Mad Magazines'" Basil Wolverton. All employ that heavily exaggerated warp out style that is so very fun to apply to zombies. While I have done only two of these illustrations in a similar style, I am very much contemplating expanding these into a full blown series as they are so interesting to create. Heads of the Living Dead : Eruptor Zombie

Greetings fellow Zombie Art Lovers! Today's zombified head is entitled Eruptor Zombie, but what is going to erupt from out of it's head is any ones guess. Will it be some kind of corrosive fluid used to incapacitate it's victim? will it be strange tentacle like appendages used to strike out at an enemy. It could be a lethal spore that coats victims in a zombifying dust turning them instantly into the undead! I love the mystery that can ofter be wrought from the inclusion of mutation into the zombie myth. There are almost unlimited possibilities in creating mutated dead flesh as a horror vehicle and just as many ways to conjure their specific attributes and abilities. It's almost as if you are taking a man sized lump of clay and molding it into a humanoid, or there about, creature of your own imagining, except the clay is decaying flesh with sharp teeth and dense bone laying within it. Hey there Zombie Art Lovers! Wow, I haven't posted one of these zombified fans i n a while! As most of you already know, way back in 2006, I began an amazing journey into art hand illustrating fans of the living dead the world over as zombies with my online service, Zombie Portraits. I've since zombified over 2000 people including pets, celebrities, and everything in between. It has been the ultimate thrill for me these past years and everyday brings a new and amazing challenge to my drawing board. I cannot express what an honor it has been to turn fans into the undead with my paint pen and paper. It's difficult to do 2000 of anything and still I must admit that I'm not even close to being tired or bored doing this. Zombies are my life, and I embrace the challenge of doing another 2000+ portraits so bring 'em on everyone! On a side note, virtually every zombie Portrait that I've done since day one can be matched together with the next end to end, thus one day creating the largest zombie drawing in human history! Color Fetish Zombie Babe

Hey there Hot Zombie Babe Art Lovers! A while back, I asked you of the Zombie Nation, if you'd like to see zombified nudes, and the answer that I received was a resounding "YES!" Well, since then, I've gotten right to work on a new batch of Zombie Babe Pinups, that I hope you enjoy. This particular one was basically an illustration that I did simply to test the resiliency of a new watercolor paper that I just purchased, and while I'm okay with the result, I think that I'm going to use it primarily for pen and ink illustrations more than I will color work. It has a nice smooth texture and fairly hefty weight, but I feel that it buckles a little too much with a heavier saturation of water based paint. Of course, I do like to try out new things and see if they result in a more comfortable working experience, and I ended up getting this nice pad of paper at a clearance price, so hey, why not? Heads of the Living Dead : Deep Sea Incident Zombie

Hey there Zombie Art Fans around the globe! Sometimes, in order to specifically zombify a head for the "Heads of the Living Dead" series, I need to image how the zombie became a zombie in the first place. While the majority of the illustrations for this series are spontaneous and not really planned much ahead of time, in the stages after the initial sketch, I flesh out the image and give it a little bit of a personality, sometimes with it's background fitting prominently into what it turns out looking like. In the case of this image, I was thinking of those undersea horror/sci-fi films like "The Abyss", "Deep Star 6" "Deep Rising", "Virus", and other schlocky similar flicks where people are out at sea or under it and are besieged by some malevolent alien or ancient evil. In the case of this image, I simple imagined that force warping the hapless humans into skin devouring zombies, giving them the slimy exterior and the sort of dead fish eye look. Again, inspiration is always there somewhere in the back of your mind, and it's sometimes a real treat when you can access portions of it for use in your art! Zombie Girl by the Sea

Hey there Zombie Art Fans! This new zombified pinup girl is one of my newest drawings and is also one of my favorite in the way that it turned out. This is a good example of the richness of the new black and white Zombie Portraits that I'm doing now since I switched to a different paper stock, not that the paper stock that I used to use wan not worty, it's just that the new stuff that I use allows for more saturation. I am planning on doing many more pinups this way and perhaps re-launching the "Zombie Bettie Page" series in this or a sepia colored tone. Heads of the Living Dead : Toxic Igor Zombie

Hey there Zombie Art Lovers across the globe! Another new zombified head for you to enjoy, from the immense "Heads of the Living Dead" series. I'm very much looking forward to seeing the Avengers movie very soon, because, let's face it, I can't live off of zombies alone...they really don't have much meat on their bones. I was as much into superheroes as I was zombies and other monsters as a kid, although i really didn't care to draw superheroes that much, if at all. It's just dawned on me recently as being strange because I realized that despite the fact that I grew up on Marvel and DC comics and have done comic book work in the past, and have for decades collected comics, I've never really done and superhero drawings, or have much of an interest in doing so....very weird. I really love the artists doing comics and have learned much from them, but I almost feel awkward drawing caped or cowled characters. Perhaps the next time I have some free time to sketch, I should do a couple and see if I would like to do more, or even zombify some, even though it's been done. Zombie Handbook Panoramic Two Page Spread

Hey there Zombie Art Freaks! Today's zombified image comes courtesy of my first book, "The Zombie Handbook : How to Identify the Living Dead and Survive the Coming Zombie Apocalypse." Ah yes, it's a title that just rolls right off of the tongue. I must say that I'm very proud of that book as I worked so hard on making it the very best that I could attempting to conjure up some solid ideas, stories, and scientific explanations behind the existence of zombies and how we would react to them, but also providing tons and tons of illustrations to set it apart from the more text heavy books that had a similar purpose. This was one illustration that I came across recently while preparing for an art show, that I swore wasn't used in the book, but had been illustrated for it. Sure enough, when I checked...it had been used! It just seemed to be in a place at the beginning that you kind of skip over really quick, so, for that reason, I'd like to include it here as a new post so that it can be seen in it's entirety without the spine getting in the way. I really liked the way this image turned out as it kind of looks like a still frame from a wide screen zombie movie. Zombie Babe of Thorns

Hey there all you Zombie Art Lovers! Today's zombified image is yet another in the exceedingly large black and white zombie babe category, and sometimes VERY gory...heh, there's some living dead humor for ya. While I must say that there are many many hot zombie babe black and white illustrations that have been posted here on Zombie Daily over the years, I don't really consider them to be all one series. The main reason for this is because while they may look similar, the majority of them have been done in very different styles, and can't really be regarded as being from the same series like the Bobble Head Zombies, or the "Heads of the living Dead" series. One thing is for certain however, and that is I'm going to be doing many many more and sharing them with you all right here. Heads of the Living Dead : Mouthful Zombie

Hey there Zombie Art Fans! well, you can't keep a good zombified head down as we're back with the alternating "Heads of the Living Dead" days. As I've outlined extensively in my first book, "The Zombie Handbook : How to Identify the Living Dead and Survive the Coming Zombie Apocalypse",(catchy title huh?), Zombies do not stop eating even when full. Some walkers have even split their skin open in a feeding frenzy unable to feel satiated, while others experience severe projectile vomiting or worse. Several illustrations in the book represent this gruesome fact, so if you're in need of a good zombie read while enjoying some neat zombie art, pick up the Handbook, it's available on Amazon of course, and at major book stores. Anyway, I couldn't do a series as extensive as the "Heads" without doing at least a couple zombies who are in mid gorge, this is one of my favorites. Ragged Zombie Babe

Greetings loyal Zombie Art Fans! Well, another big week of Zombified heads is now behind us, but don't despair, that only means more full bodied, and by today's post I mean REALLY full bodied living dead illustrations. Today's drawing is a rare quick penciled sketch, and I say rare as I do not usually post sketches or unfinished drawings that often here on the ZD. It is however a sort of loose policy that I plan to change as I really love rough unfinished work and I find that it not only holds more raw energy but it generally gives people perspective to your other finished drawings. This image is one that i may actually leave as is, or perhaps loosely color, but for the most part I feel that it sort of stands on its own. I often look at these drawings somewhere down the road and like to finish them though if the mood strikes me, so you never know, I just thought that it would be neat to show it to you in this form before it potentially was turned into something else. Heads of the Living Dead : Sucker Head Zombie

Greetings Zombie Art Fans all over the world! New mutated zombified flesh is on the menu today, with the inclusion of a new "Heads of the Living Dead" entry! The sucker head zombie has evolved horrible suction cups all over it's head and body that efficiently drain the nutrients from any of it's victims simply by holding them tight in a bear hug. The suction cups feed on the victim vigorously completely draining them of all tissue and leaving nothing but marrow less bones behind. This is another zombie that I'd like to see in action in a full bodied shot. I remember seeing something similar in the movie "Beast Master" in which these bird-like creatures would envelop their prey in wings made out of a membrane material and literally reduce them to bone. Great concept! I always thought that that would be such a cool visual to see a zombie do something similar, given the proper mutation. Heads of the Living ead : Zombie Covered in Coral

Greetings Zombie Art Lovers and welcome one again to the zombified drawings here on Zombie Daily! This was a neat idea to zombify as I really didn't know where it was going to go (what a surprise) and then it just hit me. I imagined a person lying at the bottom of a reef somewhere and being slowly covered in coral and other sea growths. I'd really like to do a full bodied version of this "head" someday and totally cover him with coral, starfish, barnacles and other forms of marine biology, maybe skewered by a harpoon or something too. This week I chose the most diverse "Heads of the Living Dead" to post just to give all of you a taste of the diversity of these zombies and how each and everyone can be utterly different from each other. I'm incredibly anxious to finish this series, or at least to reach my goal of 365 so that I can see all of them at once in maybe a poster or wall paper or something similar. Heads of the Living Dead : Sider Zombie Fusion.

Greetings all you Zombie Art Lovers! The heads keep coming and I just keep zombifying them, all this week! Here is another example of what happens when science goes horribly wrong. What we've got here is a cadaver that has been fused with spider DNA in an attempt to create a "Spiderman" super soldier. the military genetic researchers thought that if they could splice the genes of this deceased soldier with that of a wolf spider, they could create a human spider hybrid super soldier with all the know how and training of the man and all of the proportionate strength speed and agility of the arachnid. Well, it kinda backfired as the resulting mutation turned out to be a living dead abomination with killing and eating humans being the only thing on it's mind. I've really enjoyed the zombie fusion images within the "Heads of the Living Dead" series and I hope that you have too, in fact, it's my wish that you are enjoying this series as much as I am enjoying drawing it.
