This one is very easy!

Simply tweet about any of @Rob_Thurman’s books/characters on a Tuesday and your name will get entered into the drawing twice – since it’s Doubletake and on a Twosday.

You can also tweet a song suggestion for The Soundtrack to DOUBLETAKE Contest on a Tuesday and you’ll get entered twice into the drawing – literally pull double-duty on your contest participation.

D-Day is 03.06.12

If you could program your “dream soundtrack” to a Cal Leandros movie, what kinds of songs would you want to hear?

Submit your song titles here in the comments, or on Twitter or Rob’s Facebook page. Please include the song title and band name. If you have anything to say about why it makes you think of the books, or maybe which character’s theme song you imagine it belonging to, even better.

Jayda will post updates that share the songs either through videos, lyrics or full [LEGAL] audio streams from now through the end of the contest period. Rob and I will pick our ten favorites, create an iMix and then “gift” that iMix to three lucky winners in the final prize drawing. 

If you use Twitter, please remember to include @Rob_Thurman. If you have room for hash tags, please include the name of the band you submitted, plus #Doubletake and #CalLeandros. We’ll be sure to re-tweet your entries if you submit song ideas via The Twitter.

Also, on Facebook, the more “likes” a certain song gets, the more “likely” that song will wind up on the final soundtrack!

All right, time to do the Puck conga-dance with Goodfellow, to add to Cal’s weapons arsenal and meditate with Niko as we count down to D-Day: DOUBLETAKE Day – 03.06.12.

See, the Mayans were kinda right about 2012 being the end times. They just couldn’t see it coming in the form of The Leandros Brothers – but we could, couldn’t we, Reavers? Oh yes, we saw it coming…

One of the biggest perks to my job is being able to read a book in advance, which I will be doing with a DOUBLETAKE galley over the weekend. I also often get to see how the artwork is going to look from front-to-back on these books when I receive a book flat, which Rob was kind enough to send along with the galley. SO! For Friday the 13th, I thought I’d share a little love… I’ve scanned in the book flat for you all to ogle. By the way, the silver lettering is raised, silver foil. It. Is. WICKED HOT.

Lesson 1: a little peyote can fix anything. (Who didn’t already know that?)

 Lesson 2: the love of your life can be dissected and incinerated by aliens, but the sight of a hummingbird heals all emotional wounds. (They should be dispensing those at the pharmacy instead of anti-depressants.) 

Lesson 3: Hollywood can CGI the hell out of aliens ripping people off horses and impaling them, but can’t do shit with a simple hummingbird. (A Disney cartoon hummingbird is more believable.)  

Finally: how the hell do you screw up a great premise like aliens vs cowboys?? (I waited almost a year for this movie. A year. What a waste of anticipation. Sigh. Someone get me a hummingbird stat.)

So… while you’re back at work after Thanksgiving weekend and need something to procrastinate with, *mischievous giggles* head on over to GoodReads and cast your votes for BASILISK in Science Fiction.
