The first thing we must do is to clarify our thoughts, goals and desires before we can achieve success!

We were born to succeed, not to fail.
Henry David Thoreau

You can’t work towards something passionately when you aren’t sure what the end result will be.

Success means many different things to different people. Unfortunately, the tendency is to view monetary gain as success. However, financial wealth is only a small part of overall success.

There Are Different Areas of Success…

Because there are different areas of success, you can be successful in one area and unsuccessful in others. In order to develop a plan for your success, you need to make your own list of areas that are relevant to you.

To achieve overall success in life, you’ll need to examine your priorities in each area.

For many of us, there are 3 main components of success. In your personal plan for success, there may be even more. Be sure to include any areas that are important to you.

Here are the 3 main areas, along with some tips and techniques to help you evaluate your priorities and formulate your success plan:

1. My Work. To evaluate your work, contemplate these questions:

To achieve overall success in life, you’ll need to examine your priorities in each area.

Are you doing what you love?

What amount of income would make you happy?

Would you like to work in a team environment and feel appreciated?

Any number of things can be used to measure your success when it comes to your work.

In your work evaluation, be sure to determine what strengths and weaknesses you have that can help or hinder you from achieving your goal.content

For instance, I love working from home, we have a global business and work as a team to support each other.

“The difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather in a lack of will.” Vincent T. Lombardi

2. Emotional. These questions can guide you to important considerations for your emotional success:

Are you satisfied with your relationships?

What have you learned so far that could help you do better in the future?

If you have children, do you feel successful in how you’re raising them?

Is your marriage a happy one?

3. Health. Are you doing everything you can to improve your overall well-being? Maybe a change in diet and exercise is in order. Take a moment to evaluate whether you’ve achieved success in this area or if there’s room for improvement.

If your health can use a boost, make a plan to start implementing changes in your daily routine that lead to a healthier lifestyle.

The Journey to Success…

Your journey to success will have highs and lows throughout your life. There will be mistakes and disappointments. You may experience a setback at some point. The beauty is that you can get back on track and move closer to your goals at any time.

You may achieve new levels of success at different times in your life and career. As you progress in your job, start a family, and get involved in giving back to your community, your definition of success may change, as do your priorities. Go with the flow; it’s okay for your outlook on life and your meaning of success to change over time.

Love what you do! Life is too short to be stuck doing something you despise. To achieve success in life, work with what you’ve got. Focus on your strengths and interests and do the things that bring those to the forefront of your life.

Challenges and obstacles are opportunities for improvement and further success. Everyone has setbacks at some point in their lives. If we didn’t, we wouldn’t be human. The successful individual has the confidence that he can and will do better!

Every so often, it’s very important to step back and re-evaluate your idea of success.

There are so many changes in life and with each one you’ll find that your priorities change also.

Never underestimate the power that comes from persistence and experience, just don’t forget to enjoy the journey!

L. Williams by my brother in law, James Gullett. Little did I know that moment would change my life forever.

Art Williams, stirred in me a believe in myself and a desire to create financial freedom by empowering others to live their dreams.

In this video, the legend, Art Williams reveals how you can reach your goals and dreams and how you can do anything that you put your mind to.

This talk defines a WINNER…what qualities a WINNER possesses…what a WINNER has to do to become successful.

Art Williams will motivate, inspire and hopefully stir a positive attitude in you to dream big and to help you get the mindset to accomplish your goals and dreams in life.

Maybe you won’t agree with everything that Art Williams shares in the video, or enjoy the way he says it; however, there are many timeless and universal principles in this message that relate to leadership–and everyday life.

Early in my life, I became a procrastinator as well as a problem child. Anyone who knows a problem child knows most will not deviate from their path unless shown a different way.

I want us to consider their ways, analyzing their actions as bad decisions that we all make as individuals.

I learned some of the best lessons upon failure and success from losers and other people who experienced numerous failures. These individuals came form various lifestyles.

These lessons made me more successful and they will make your more successful too.

“Success is focusing the full power of all you are on what you have a burning desire to achieve.” ~Wilfred Peterson

How many times have you let your outer circumstances set the tone for your day? I think we have all allowed other people and events to trigger feelings of anger, frustration, impatience and more?

When we do this, we are not using the power that we have available to us!

How do we access our power and create the kind of day we want?

One way is by using visualization and intentions to create our day.

When you wake up in the morning, take the first 10 to 30 minutes or so to start thinking about what kind of day you would like to experience. What kind of person would you like to be? What would you like to have? How would you like your business day to go? What kind of people would you like to meet? How would you like to spend your free time?

Grab a 3 x 5 card (Brenda and I call it “Our Heart’s Desire Card”) and jot the details down! Once you’ve gotten all the details written down, spend a few minutes vividly imagining each scenario in your mind, exactly as you would like it to happen. Feel the power of ownership, touch it taste it!

Pretend you’re watching a movie in your mind, seeing it all play out exactly as you’d like it to.

Get caught up in the moment, allow yourself to feel as if your desires were actually happening right now. Immerse yourself in feelings of excitement, joy, happiness and gratitude as you enjoy one great experience after another.

Use this same process for every experience you’d like to have today.

This will literally make you magnetic, drawing to yourself what you have focused on.

“Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve.” ~Napoleon Hill

Carry your card with you and read it over and over again throughout the day. Your subconscious mind will begin to attract to you the attitudes, stuff and people you need to achieve what it is you want.

Avoid getting caught up in feelings of worry, anxiety, frustration, and anger as much as possible throughout the day because those feelings will interfere with the positive energy you have already put out.

Pull out the 3 x 5 card and read it over again, remembering the things you visualized earlier and allow good feelings to flow over you again. Affirm and know that wonderful things are happening, even if you don’t see them quite yet.

By using this process on a daily basis, I have found that good things start to happen. You will find yourself being in the “right place at the right time” and generally enjoying greater opportunities and abundance.

Now we are beginning to create our day…

Remember YOU are Powerful and Your Dreams matter!

Brenda and I see them everyday, the people who have given up on their dreams because they seem too difficult to achieve.

Have you ever felt that you might be destined for a life of struggle and lack because you just can’t seem to make lasting positive changes? Facing disappointments like these is never easy. In fact, they have the power to immobilize us permanently if we let them.

However, settling for where you are is one sure way to guarantee that you’ll end up stuck there. If you want to break out of the rut of disappointment, you need to develop a strong dislike for your current circumstances. You need to vow to never settle for less than you deserve.

If you’ve reached a certain level of success in your life, it’s great to feel proud of your achievements but you can’t stop there!

To keep positive momentum going in your life, there are two things you must do after every accomplishment:

1) Take time to CELEBRATE your Victory. YES – you should enjoy the fruits of your labor! Absolutely take time to feel good, enjoy the benefits of whatever you’ve done. Live it up, take a break, enjoy life for awhile!

Brenda and I love to celebrate when we hit our goals. The length of time you do this will be your personal preference. It might be hours, it might be days, it might be weeks, it might be months. But then…

2) Get Moving Again! Don’t stay in one place for so long that you become lethargic and create inertia again. Start thinking about your next goal, your next level of achievement, your next big accomplishment, the next pin or contest.

You should ALWAYS have a goal in the works, even if you’re in the initial brainstorming stage. Keep pushing yourself to excel beyond anything you’ve done so far.

One of my mentors taught me years ago that; you are either Green and Growing or Ripe and Rotting…

Every time Brenda and I reach a new pin level or achieve a goal we immediately set our sites on what’s next!

Refusing to settle for where you are shouldn’t take away from anything you’ve accomplished – it should only ADD to it.

In fact, with every goal you set, you should be looking at the long-term vision. Don’t just think about the immediate benefits but look farther into the future and recognize the possibilities for greatness in your life.

Obviously, there is a process involved with this. You don’t have to take on the whole world right away, but rather continuously work toward something greater than what you can envision for your life right now.

Whatever you do, don’t trick yourself into believing that you’ve accomplished all you can! Even if you’ve reached the absolute pinnacle of success in your business, there is ALWAYS a higher place you can climb to.
