I know we've been through so many hurdles since we started. and I'm pretty sure that you're more than furious with me from earlier today. Out of everyone, I know I can understand. I figured this is the best way that I can reach you right now since it's pretty hard to contact you as of 7:33pm here in my side of the world.

Like you and poetry, this blog used to be my own medium to collect my thoughts and express them to those who ever cared to read. Unfortunately, my drive to keep this blog up and running had diminished throughout last year. I mean for goodness' sake, my last post before this one was made eight months ago. I guess you can say that I had lost the push and inspiration to share my introspection on what I once thought was rare and beautiful in this world. Well that is...until I met you.

I had no plans of ever reviving this canvas of mine. I would even forget that such a thing ever existed for me these past few months. Even though blogging the "my view of the world" was a big part of my life back in the day, I was slowly letting go. Little by little. Which is where you come in, Mimi...

You already know that Dee is your number one fan of your literary work :) I mean I'm dying to always listen to what you have to say once you start working with the pen. Like Kendrick Lamar said "Read slow and you'll find gold mines in these lines." Well, I was lucky enough to be your audience and it's been dope as fuck listening to your work. I'm happy that you were inspired to run back to your love of writing. It would have been a shame if you never worked your magic with the pen. Let alone go through life without anyone ever seeing the beauty in your writing. I was so amazed with your work that I can say that it inspired me to get my creative juices flowing again. I was in search of a new DSLR/travel bag for my trip across Asia. I needed something that was able to hold my cam, a couple of lenses, as well as my "travel essentials". I was so close to picking up the Ari Marcopoulos x Incase DSLR camera bag but I've heard complaints that the bag didn't have much room and people struggled to squeeze in their gripped bodies. That was instantly a deal breaker for me. If I were going to pay over 2 bills for a camera bag, it damn better be able to swallow up a gripped Canon.

I then turned my focus to the Incase DSLR Pro Sling Pack since it was a bit cheaper than the Ari bag and it was able to hold extra shit in it. My only concern was that sack was mo'fucking huge (no homo). I wanted something a bit more discreet and wasn't yelling out that I was carrying a shitload of camera gear. I started giving up hope on ever finding a bag that would suit my needs, then I stumbled onto the Think Tank Retrospective line of camera bags.

The Retrospective 20 was the perfect size I was looking for. It was able to hold a gripped body and several extra lenses. It easily carried my extra crap (including my iPad), and the bag was just flat out beautiful. Apparently, Think Tank designed this line to pay homage to classic photographers like Henri Cartier-Bresson, and Robert Frank.

Pinestone is the way to go fams.

Happy as fuck right now. I finally picked up the Toki 10-17mm Fish Eye and I'm having so much darn fun. I'm relieved knowing that I'll be able to bring this lens along with me on my trip (speaking of which, I only have a few days to pack and I haven't even started yet). Hopefully I could snap a few dope landscapes with it. I bounced to Keith's crib to take it for a test run. Once I got there, homie was working on a new project. I shared some of my thoughts about his new work, even contributed some new ideas. I pray we get far man.

Life just looks so boring without it throwing you any curves.

I never thought the day would come where I would actually start thinning off my sneaker collection. I just slowly realized that I really don't have a need for so many pairs of kicks during this stage of my life. Especially since I'm trying to mature my craft in photography. I'm actually hoping to sell these two pairs off to fund for my new lens. Lord willing, I'll be able to scoop it up before my vacation this summer.

Zoom to the present. Everyone here in NY is locked up in their homes due to Hurricane Irene making it's way over here. When NYC decides to stop the MTA from making money, then you know some shit is going down. I've got two days left of summer vacation and I'm spending it at home. I heard news that Jeremyville and Buff Monster were going to be at the opening of their new exhibit at The Cotton Candy Machine out in Brooklyn so once I confirmed it was true, I was out! I had copped a "Nightmare In Jeremyville" 8 in. Dunny from Kid Robot NY back in '08 when Jeremyville first launched it. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get my piece signed back then so I figured that I'd try my luck this time around. Ed, Nash, and I hopped onto the train and headed out to BK.

My flight to Cali is 20 hours away and I have yet to pack. SMH. I've been running back and forth doing errands and cleaning the crib the past week that I've actually lost track of time. The only rest I'm probably going to be getting is during the flight from JFK to LAX. I'm scheduled to land in L.A. around midnight (Western time) and from the airport, the fam and I are going to be driving up to SF. *DEAD*

I'm Un-DSing these babies for the trip. I just need to clean up that "Vintage" look on the midsoles though. I'll try some Jason Markk on these.

Those who knew me during the early 2000's KNOW how heavy I was into LRG. I mean, I used to go online on a daily basis to try and find new drops from LRG back in the day. It's even safe to say that LRG was the first brand to ever put me up on streetwear. That's why I was saddened when I heard of the passing of LRG's Co-Founder, Jonas Bevacqua, at the early age of 33. The dude was a true inspiration to me and shaped my taste for fashion and clothes when I was young. Talented visionary. Designer. Innovator. Self-Made. The dude just radiated unparalleled SWAG.

RIP Jonas Bevacqua.

School has taken over my life and there's nothing I can do about it. I'm finally starting to feel the pressures of what I can expect from the Nursing profession. I hate it, yet ironically I get a slight gratification from it. It may be because I actually get to bask in the fruits of my labor, even if it is for a couple of minutes.

Anyways, the weather's been great out in NY. I think I may go out shooting this weekend since I haven't been able do it for a while.

Side Note: I'm planning on heading out to Cali again in June. #SWAG Bay Area, L.A., and Vegas homie!

These past few weeks have just been incredibly hectic. I had to study for my Nursing Proper's entrance exam and I just haven't been able to keep up on so many things (my blog being one of them, unfortunately). I'm just glad that the hell I went through is all over and I'm currently on my Spring Break. Even though my spring break has been a bit busier than most other years, it sure beats preparing for that damn entrance exam.

It sucks really, I now have a ton of crap to organize. My desktop for example. I HATE unorganized desktops.

Recap of my meeting with one of the most prominent artists of the Postmodernist art era this past Sunday. The dude has got to be one of the chillest celebrities I've ever met. Since he first step through the doors he was hounded by a sea of fans for an autograph. I mean, my dude didn't even stop signing books and toys until EVERY single one of his fans was content. He told us that he was hoping to just chill and peep the other exhibits lol.

He was kind enough to sign my monograph (I accidentally left my first copy at home so I had to buy another copy) and both of my Bus Stop sets. I gave props to him and his work, shook hands, and I snapped away. Real chill guy. Hope he stops by again!
