About it: PICMAN is being built at my university as a project based on PIC uC supported by Microchip. The idea is to do this OS in any uC (RTOS). I decided to start with these kind of device since these are the cheapest in the market.

Building a Basic Mobile Robot

Hello. I going to try to present the progress of this project in the next post. I think that in this first stage there are 4 main points:

Mechanics:

The mechanical parts are made up by stainless steel, as well I chose to use the differential configuration since it is one of the simplest to implement.

Power:

The H bridges, they will be allowing us to control the motors.

Control:

I'm just controlling simple movements since I'm using a open loop control.

Communications:

I used a RF module, in which I'm using 2 uC series16F628A - microchip as encoder and decoder. 

My goal is to communicate to the robot via RF, and control it from a remote station, so I use an interface such as a PC for that purpose.
