Real Robot News: WAVE Legioss Zeta Armo Soldier Mode Official Images

For those who are familiar to the series Mospeada or rather its English counterpart, the 3rd series of Robotech called the Next Generation, then you are familiar with this mecha, WAVE will be releasing a 1/72 scale Legioss Zeta (aka Alpha Fighter Rook Bartley in Robotech) in Armo soldier mode figure.

Fully poseable and highly detailed. Too bad the figure is not transformable to two other modes but still a nice model figure for fans of the series who want to own one.

The WAVE Legioss Zeta Armo Soldier mode is slated this coming April and priced at 3,600 Yen. Thanks to Cybergundam via Toys News Channel.

Super Robot News: More SOC Daiohja Hi-Res Official Images

Cybergundam over at Toy News Channel has posted additional hi-res images of the upcoming Soul of Chogokin GX-61 Daiohja.

Check out the latest images of Daiohja's components and their corresponding weapons: Ace Redder, Aoider, and Cobalter as well as other images of Daiohja. I believe there will be parts swapping with combining the three robots to form Daiohja.

The SOC Daiohja is slated for April release and priced at 23,000 Yen.

Super Sentai News: Tokumei Sentai Gobuster Clear Toy Images

Thanks to fellow toy collectors over at Facebook, we now have clear images of the upcoming Super Sentai series, Tokumei Sentai Gobuster and boy we have lots of Gobuster toys most especially the mechas that we are really looking forward to.

Check out the first of the DX series to be released on the Gobuster line is the DX Gobuster Ace which transforms from vehicle to hybrid mode to its robot mode, the figure will also include the Buddyroid Chida Nikku figure. There's also the MiniPla version of Gobuster Ace which will be released in 2 parts. There will be a Mini Pla Chida Nikku figure as well which is also transformable to bike mode. There are Gobuster mini vinyl figures, which the Gobusters and the Gobuster Ace will be among of the first released figures.

And if that's not enough, check out the MBAF Red Buster with Chida Nikku figure which can transform into bike mode for Red Buster to ride. I'm so excited for these toy to be released soon and hopefully the series will be good. Tokumei Sentai Gobuster will air on Feb. 26 on TV Asahi replacing Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger.

Other Mecha News: D-Arts Zero Type 2 Official Images

For those who missed out on the First D-Arts Zero figure released before, well you're in luck that's because Bandai will release a Type 2 version of Zero based on the succeeding Rockman X (Megaman X in the states) games.

The difference between the Type 1 and Type 2 are there are new shoulder pads on Type 2 which are based on his design in Rockman X3, not only that, Zero has a new version of the Zero Buster arm attachment, a new interchangeable angry expression face and his sword with two versions of blades: the normal and the slashing effect versions. The sword hilt can be mounted on Zero's back.

Gundam News: MG Duel Gundam Assault Shroud Official Images

Cybergundam has posted official images in his Toy News Channel Facebook page of the upcoming Duel Gundam Assult Shroud; 2nd of the first five Gundams appeared in the Gundam SEED Series and the 14th in the series to be released in Master Grade format.

Like the previously released kits, the Duel Gundam Assault Shroud features the removable assault shroud armor. As with the previous Master Grade kits, the Duel Gundam features intricate detail and awesome poseability. Aside from the armor, the Duel Gundam includes a Bazooka, Beam rifle and 2 Beam sabers.

The MG Duel Gundam Assult Shroud is slated for February release, same month release of MG Gundam AGE-1 Normal and priced at 4,410 Yen.

Gomen for not having updates for half a month as I'm having some project works to finish. Anyway, on to the news. Cybergundam has posted official images of the highly anticipated Gundam AGE-1 Normal in Master Grade format.

Like all of the previous MG models, Gundam AGE-1 Normal features awesome articulation and intricate detail, and of course the inner frame of the AGE-1 looked phenomenal when it comes to its fine detail and superb design engineering. Check out the official images.

Event: The 6th Christmas Toy Fair and 1st Die Cast & Custom Car Show

It's the most wonderful time of the year as Collectibles Unlimited brings another Toy event during the Holiday season and before the year ends, its the 6th Christmas Toy Fair 2011.

Aside from this event, it will hold the 1st Die Cast & Custom Car Show sponsored by Die Cast Philippines (DCPH). Aside from the usual toy bargain buys and Cosplay Parade auctions, members DCPH will also showcase their Die Cast car collections, there will be also contest such as the die cast car Gravity Race and the Custom Car Show Competition and DCPH will held their die-cast swap meet of the year on the event.

Gundam News: HG Gundam AGE-2 Normal Official Images and Box Art Cover

guNjap has posted official images and box art of the much awaited Gundam AGE-2 Normal which will be soon releasing on the HG Gunpla line.

As I viewed on these images, I'm more getting used on the AGE-2's design not only that the MS mode has a design based aesthetics of Gundam 00 MS designs, moreover the vehicle mode reminisces that of Zeta Gundam's waverider mode. If this Gundam should be released on Master Grade scale , I would probably get one.

The HG Gundam AGE-2 Normal is slated for January release and priced at 1,500 Yen.

Video Game News: Transformers Fall of Cybertron Trailer Debuts

Game Trailers has uploaded a better video quality game trailer of the upcoming Transformers game, Fall of Cybertron where the trailer debuted at the recently concluded Video Game Awards 2011.

In the video, as the war escalates, the Decepticons added their strength in winning the war in a form of Bruticus while the Autobots sent the Dinobots as their reinforcements. Currently there are no details yet of the new missions and new characters added and that can be unlocked in the game, but hopefully it will be more successful than the previous one. For now, check out the video game trailer debut.

Gundam News: Gundam AGE New Artwork Feat. Asemu Asuno

Thanks to guNjap, we have a new visual art image of the ongoing Gundam AGE series now featuring Asemu Asuno as the next pilot of the new Gundam.

In the image shown Asemu Asuno (front) is Flit Asuno's son and pilot of new Gundam AGE-2 and he's next main character of the ongoing series. Next to him on the right image is none other than Flit himself, all grown up.

I can't wait for this story begin. I kinda felt the Age-2's basic design has Gundam 00 design feel. Moreover I'm looking forward what are the other optional units that can be put on the AGE-2 like its successor, Flit's AGE-1. We'll just find out in the coming episodes.

Super Sentai News: First Look At Tokumei Sentai Gobuster

Thanks to some friends and fellow Tokusatsu fans over at Facebook, we now have first images of the next Super Sentai series, Tokumei Sentai Gobuster.

In the image, there are 3 members with their corresponding partners. I find their costumes mix of GokaiSilver's helmet design and jackets of Boukenger. Aside from the images of the team, we also have first images of the first DX mecha figure, the Gobuster Ace which has 4 modes, combining with Blue Buster's Gorilla and Yellow Buster's Rabbit forms Gobuster-Oh. Aside from the mecha, we also have Gobuster's armaments and changer which the blaster transforms into a camera and the sword transforms into a binoculars.

I hope the series will be more exciting just like Gokaiger when it airs Feb. 26, next year.

Other Mecha News: Soul SPEC Dragonar-1 Custom Official Images

Thanks to guNjap for the heads up. Bandai is releasing another Dragonar figure in the Soul SPEC line designated as XS-17.

The figure is the Dragonar-1 Custom and its different from early released Dragonar-1 figures. The Dragonar-1 is based on the upgraded Dragonar-1 mecha seen in the anime. The Soul SPEC DRagonar-1 custom comes with additional set of hands, Hand rail cannon, laser sword hilts (normal x4 and combined forms x2) laser sword blades, shield, throwing bomb, missile pods x2, additional pari of V-fin antennas, and a beautiful catapult base. I wonder if the armor is still removable like the previous Dragonar-1 releases.

The articulation on the Magiking looks impressive not only the articulation but it has sleek design in this figure. The SRC Magiking will include extra hands, base, and King Calibur sword. The SRC Magiking is slated for March release and priced at 5,000 Yen.

CyberGundam has posted official images of the next Soul of Chogokin figure, Daiohja designated as GX-61

The SOC Daiohja set composed of Ace-Reder, Aoider, and Cobalter, the 3 robots that forms Daiohja. Other accessories include Ace-Reder's Ace Saber, Aoider's Beam gun, Cobalter's Hammer chain and shield for the individual components' weapons while Daiohja's weapons consist of Raimei Ken, Beam Bowgun, Grapper x 2 and Daiohja shield. The weapons can be placed in a beautiful display rack.

The SOC Daiohja is slated for April release and priced at 23,000 Yen.

Super Robot News: Voltron Vehicle Team Figure In Works??

A Toy site called Toy Freakz has posted prototype images of it would seem Voltron Vehicle team figure.

According to Toy Freakz, the figure will stand at least 13" tall and it will contain die-cast. The good part is that it can be separated to 15 vehicles (5 vehicles per team) and it will have SOC-like articulation. The question is who is the maker of this prototype?

There's no news yet what company made the prototype. Is it either Bandai CM's or Toynami made this, but one thing's for sure if this get out mass produced, it will be an additional collection to Voltron fans everywhere. If Bandai or CM's is the maker, it will be released in either the SOC line or Brave Gokin under its original name, Dairugger XV.

Whether this news is true or rumor, we'll stay tuned for further developments.

Transformers News: Ultimate Optimus Prime Year Of The Dragon Version Revealed

This is not what I've expected. TFW2005 has informed that another Dark of the Moon Ultimate Optimus Prime will be releasing exclusively in the Asian market.

Its called Year of the Dragon Ultimate Optimus Prime and the toy will be packaged with Prime in vehicle mode sporting with a golden dragon design marking on its recolored red trailer. The said toy will be releasing probably before or after Chinese New Year, so expect it will hit in the Philippines any time soon.

Other Mecha News: Figma Drossel (Fireball Charming ver.) Official Images

The Duchess Drossel von Flügel is yet again to be released a new figure in the Figma line.

Unlike the previously released Figma Drossel, this figure is based on the recently concluded series, Fireball Charming. Drossel von Flügel is now double jointed, so there are lots of articulation to this figure. The set includes all of the accessories she used in the 2nd series: a clear base, Astrology and Perception unit, a cape, wheel feet and Drossel's portable secretary, Reginald.

Gundam News: RD Gundam AGE-1 Normal And Gafran Official Images

With Bandai is in full gear releasing products for the recently aired Gundam series, Gundam AGE with Gunpla line-up, the other line Robot Damashii is also in trend in releasing Gundam AGE figures, check out the official images of the first two upcoming RD figures for Gundam AGE; the AGE-1 Normal and Gafran.

I'm impressed on how well articulated these figures are most especially the AGE-1 Normal. There quite a few RD figures that are transformable to their alternate modes, and Gafran made also the list of transformable RD figs. Check out Gafran's alt mode.

The RD Gundam AGE-1 Normal and Gafran are slated for December release, just in time for Christmas. The AGE-1 is priced at 3,150 Yen while Gafran is priced at 3,675 Yen. Thanks to guNjap for the news.

When I first got this figure for a fellow toy collector friend, I find this figure looked cool. It's big, bulky, and it kicks ass even though I hated the series where this character appeared. I'm talking about is the DX Gosei Ground from the 2010 Super Sentai series, Tensou Sentai Goseiger. Here's my full review of the toy.

OVERVIEW

Gosei Ground is composed of 3 components: The Groundlion (center) which is the main body and head of Gosei Ground, operated by GoseiKnight that transforms into a Groundlion Headder. The two remaining components, the Knight Brothers Sealion (blue) and Skyion (red) serves as Gosei Ground's legs.

As mentioned, there is a GoseiKnight figure included in the set in a form of a Groundlion headder. It kinda sucked when the Groundlion headder is transformed into Gosei Knight, its not proportionate and bulky when in humanoid form, but in headder form; it looks awesome. The Groundlion headder is attached to the main body via a special port/peg that locks into place. The Groundlion headder or any other headders that comes in the set can be also attached on the DX Gosei Blaster (sold separately) but that's another story.

The Groundlion vehicle is assimilated from a dump truck that the Groudlion headder attached to. The design of this vehicle rocks and kinda like the design unlike from the other Gosei mecha line. The Knight Brothers Sealion assimilated a boat while the Skyion took the form from a blimp, the design on them looked pretty simple but not too shabby. The only disappointment I had with this is the connectors is sticking out in their vehicle components. It would be nice if the connectors can be hidden. Among the 3 components, I liked the Groundlion better in terms of design.

TENSOU GATTAI

To combine to Gosei Ground is to first remove the Groundlion wheels, 2nd half of the dump section and the headder. Fold both Skyion and Sealion head port upwards, fold down Skyion's wings and tail. Connect the Knight Brothers to Groundlion's connecting port holes which forms Gosei Ground's legs with Sealion as the right leg and Skyion on the left leg.

Attach Groundlion's wheels/lower section to connecting ports on the side forms Gosei Ground's arms while the 2nd half of the dump is connected on underbelly of Groundlion forms Gosei Ground's chest plate. Lastly, flip Groundlion / Gosei Knight's legs forward (from Groundlion mode), flip arms/mane downwards, then flip out the cover underneath Groundlion revealing Gosei Ground's face and reconnect back to Groundlion headder port, and you're done.

GOSEI GROUND, ADVENT!

Towering around 13" tall, Gosei Ground is an awesome figure to look at. Not only the height that's towering, but also the bulkiness of the figure too even though it looks blocky, but still look cool. The head design of Gosei Ground looks cool even though I didn't like the design of its crown/legs pointing upwards, its like there's a drill on Gosei Ground's head. As with the Super Sentai mecha toys that came before, there's little articulation. Gosei Ground has only articulation on its arms and that's it. Lots of part swapping when playing Gosei Ground mostly during combination, the good thing is there are no left out parts.

Gosei Ground is made entirely of ABS Plastic, there's no die-cast metal content. There are no electronic gimmicks on this figure , the only gimmick of this series is the headder attachment is wherein you can connect headders (sold separately) to special ports to connect and lock in place. Gosei Ground has 6 headder ports (2 each component), three already used for the combination. Comparing with the other headders from the line, Gosei Ground's headders included in the set are slight bigger (most especially the Knight Brothers) than the early released headders.

Although Gosei Ground doesn't have any weapons included, he has holes in its hand which can hold any Gosei mecha weapons. Additional accessory that comes with the set is Gosei Ground's Victory Charge card which can be scanned to a Dice-O card machine or to Gosei Knight's DX Leon celluar set (sold separately) with code# 919 to activate the voice in the cellular. Like any 6th member mecha, Gosei Ground can also be combined with Gosei Great (sold separately) to form Ground Gosei Great, but that review will come another time (if I can find a Gosei Great figure).

THE VERDICT

Despite with little articulation, some bad designs, and dull gimmick, I find Gosei Ground still worth a play value. It would be nice addition to my Super Sentai collection, if I can afford one due to its hefty price tag which cost about Php 4,500 in specialty shops for a MISB toy. But if you can find this one like my friend did at a fraction of the original price for a loose figure in the secondary market, it is worth it. My rate for Gosei Ground is 3.5 out of 5.

Transformers News: MP-11 Starscream Revealed - UPDATED

Takara Tomy is on the roll again for releasing the Transformers Masterpiece line following the release of MP-10 Convoy ver. 2, the company will be releasing Masterpiece Starscream once again as confirmed by Seibertron.com.

Designated as MP-11A, Starscream will be no different from the previous incarnation however there are some design changes in the mold. As seen in the image above, they redesigned mostly the legs, arms and the torso sections. The color will be no different from Hasbro's previously paint scheme. In addition, MP-11A Starscream will have additional accessories, are you ready for this: his coronation set which includes a crown, shoulder pads and cape which is molded in plastic. I wish they had the cape in cloth or pleather instead. Aside from the coronation set, it will include a holographic pilot instead of Dr. Arkeville which was previously released in the set.

For those who missed getting Starscream, well here's your chance. Slated release will be next year. To pre-order the figure, visit Kapow toys for more info on how to order this figure. Price will be around USD 220, this will be a wallet buster.

UPDATE: Red Mercury has posted new colored images of MP-11 Starscream as confirmed the design changes in the original MP mold most notibly the Jet kibble in robot mode is now placed in legs (thank goodness finally). The figure will be in light gray color similar to his original G1 color toy as opposed to Hasbro's MP white color. Check out these colored images by clicking it.

Video Game News: Transformers: Fall of Cybertron Game Revealed

Game Informer has posted news that the game developer High Moon Studios revealed the upcoming Transformers War For Cybertron sequel, Transformers: Fall of Cybertron.

Finally Transfans are excited to get the latest popular Transformers game to release a sequel. Transformers: Fall of Cybertron tells the tale where WFC left off, the battle between the Autobots and Decepticons escalated on their homeworld, Cybertron, the gameplay promises that it will be more exciting that which includes extensive storyline and gameplay explanations, concept art, and dozens of screenshots according to High Moon Studios. To celebrate the revelation of the new Transformers game, Game Informer has posted 2 new magazine cover images of Fall of Cybertron for their November issue which includes Optimus Prime, Bumblebee and Grimlock, check out these kickass images.

Transformers News: Encore Twincast and Soundblaster Coming

Thanks for TFW2005 for the news, it seems that more Transformers G1 figures will be reissued under the Encore line. It is revealed that Soudblaster and Twincast will be the next Encore release after Devastator.

Soundblaster (a retooled Soundwave mold) originally first reissued under the Transformers Collection way back 2005 and Twincast (retooled Broadcast aka Blaster), a previously e-hobby reissue in 2006 will be released in the Encore line very soon according to TFSource and Big Bad Toy Store. Each figure includes 2 cassettes slightly differ from the original release. Soundblaster includes a red version of Rumble / Frenzy and an orange recolored Ratbat, while Twincast will include a black version of Steeljaw and metallic orange colored Ravage. For those who missed these previously released figures of these characters, here's your chance to own one. No word yet when the figures will be released.

Super Robot News: SDCC Edition: Mattel Voltron Figures Unleashed

Mattel is in full force promoting Voltron ever since they acquired the license to produce toys, first sightings of the toys were unveiled at this year's San Diego Comic Convention.

Mattel first announced the release of a 23" Voltron Classic figure months back, they officially unveiled the figure itself for the first time to the public at the SDCC. I admit after I saw these pics, I'm so impressed and so awesome they are producing this Voltron figure this big, almost its size with Transformer's Fortress Maximus. What's awesome about this figure also is that Mattel also produced Voltron pilot figures that are articulated and anime accurate and in conjunction to the lions, it comes with alternate heads and a key that unlocks each of the lion's transformation feature gimmick.

The figures can ride on each of their respective lions, kinda reminds me of the US vintage Voltron figures and lions. Don't know if the figures are packaged with the lions or they will be sold separately. The downside is that the figure looks plastic looking, it didn't even bother to paint the white parts to silver or metallic.

Made of plastic and die-cast metal, the Voltron Classic figure comes with 2 versions of Blazing Sword, with or without effects, Spinning Laser Blade, and the individual knives/blades for each lion. It will be sold to each components and you will have to collect all five to form Voltron. The figure will be sold as a club-exclusive and it will be priced ranging from USD 30-50 per lion.

Aside from the Classic Voltron, Mattel also unveiled a mock-up figure for the new Voltron Force series. Check out the images of small articulated lions and the Voltron Force figure which towers the same height as its Classics counterpart. Its going to be one heck of toy hunting for Voltron fans, save your money, this line will be leave a very big hole in your wallet.

Super Robot Wars News: SRC Dygenguar Revealed

Again, at the Tamashii Festival 2011, Bandai also unveiled another Super Robot Wars mecha to be released under the Super Robot Chogokin line.

The figure is the Dygenguar (lit. Daizengar), Sanger Zonvolt's personal mecha. Awesome articulation for this figure; if this will soon be released could it be the other mecha, the Ausenseitter can't be far behind? Only time will tell.
