Honda's ASIMO upgraded

Asimo which was first displayed in 2000 has been upgraded again with improvements in various areas .The honda's android robot can run faster, balance its weight better on uneven surfaces.
The new Asimo got improved hands as well, allowing individual movement of each finger, so it could do sign language.
"My name is Asimo," it said, making the signs of its words with stubby fingers.
Asimo was also able to open a thermos bottle and poured juice into cups present on the table.

Honda President Takanobu It told reporters that some of Asimo's technology was used to develop a robotic arm in just six months with the intention of helping with the nuclear crisis in northeastern Japan.

The mechanical arm can open and close valves at Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear power plant, which went into meltdown after the March tsunami, according to Honda. The automaker is working with the utility behind the problem plant, Tokyo Electric Power Co, to try to meet demands to bring the plant under control.

Robots,'Boon or Bane.'

Ohk guys this is the first post of my first blog ,
So i wanna start by telling you what i think of robotics, why robots facinate me ,and why i think robots are the future of humanity ,what do you think robots are ? they are machines which have artificial brain which can THINK .Doesn't that facinate you?the word artificial is enough to make me fond of them i think in future there is lots of scope in robotics .Many people think about robots in a completely different way .They think robots will attack humans in future ,make us slaves and that they will make us even more lazier ,etc etc.yes i do think robots will eventually make us lazy but the fact is that every invention is for making our life simpler let alone robots and it will make us lazy but thats not gonna cover the positive side of it .Governments of various countries are not going with full speed in the development and research in robotics since they think it will result in unemployment but let us examine the scenario when cars were invented, about half of a quarter of a million people lost there jobs all over the world as bullock carts and other means of transports got replaced with cars and other automobiles but the creation of automobiles in turn resulted in the creation of about 500 million jobs .I think this is going to happen with the robots too initially we will face unemployment but i think it will eventually create innumerable jobs which will help us create a better form of life.
