New York State Technology Director (and formerly classroom teacher) Mr. Rob Zdrojewski will demonstrate how Deledao has changed the game of Chromebook filtering and classroom monitoring with their patented advanced AI capabilities not seen in our previous Chromebook filtering platform. No More Waiting for Account Creations: Digital on Day One with ClassLink

We’ve rolled out several software applications for our 1:1 Chromebook initiative that we believe are critical in order to become “Digital on Day One". Our most important platform is ClassLink. ClassLink is our single sign-on application. With one login, students, teachers, and staff have one-click access into their web applications. We put links to all of our digital textbooks, online assessments, and other instructional web applications into our ClassLink Launchpad. We are able to assign apps to specific users, grade levels or groups. Students, teachers, and staff may also add links to their own web apps. We also use OneRoster, an open source IMS Global standard, to roster many of our textbooks and applications. With OneRoster we send one set of files to our vendors and textbook publishing companies daily. These companies then use these files to generate the rosters and login credentials our students and teachers need. Teachers no longer waste valuable time manually maintaining class rosters for these applications. Because of ClassLink, our teachers and students are not wasting time finding URLs to web apps, nor are they struggling to remember their logins and passwords to different sites. They have one login, with one-click access to content.

Learn how to create “A Digital YOU” by creating screencasts on Chromebooks, Windows or Mac using popular free Chrome extensions such as Screencastify, Loom, Nimbus Screenshot and more. When combined with your favorite digital learning platform, teachers now have the ability to create a 24/7 personalized learning environment, perfect for keeping absent students up to date and fostering a more connected classroom! Cell Phones, Tablets, & Chromebooks in the Classroom - Making BYOD Work for You!

Now that we have a BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) policy in our school, what can we do with these devices? This presentation will guide participants in designing instructional materials that effectively use cell phones,tablets, and Chromebooks. Participants will learn how to use web based tools such as Polleverywhere, Socrative, and Quizlet to create quizzes, review games, interactive polls and discussions that engage students’ attention while using their own cell phones for constructive activities. Further, participants will learn how to create teacher and student podcasts and vodcasts (audio and video recordings) for various projects. Finally, participants will learn how to create and scan QR codes that bring traditional learning materials (worksheets, books, etc.) into a more engaging digital atmosphere with student cell phones and tablets.

On Wednesday, October 19th 2016 we will be presenting a workshop on the use of Assistive Technologies in the K-12 classroom. The focus will be on interactive technologies such as Socrative and Kahoot to "gamify" the classroom using common mobile devices that students or schools may already own.

Rob Zdrojewski is the K-12 Director of Instructional Technology at the Oakfield-Alabama Central School District in Oakfield, NY. He is a New York State Certified K-12 Technology Education Teacher and holds his NYS Administrative SBL/SDL Certifications. Rob formerly taught Technology Education at Amherst Middle School for 14 years as a classroom educator. Since 2012 he has been an Online Adjunct Professor in the Education Technologies and Emerging Media Program at Canisius College in Buffalo, NY. Rob maintains a professional blog at RobZtraining.com and has published numerous training DVDs and offers professional development and consulting services on topics such as the flipped classroom, blended learning, screencasting, and iPad video production.
