God knows what they're talking about; I've been having oodles of fun fucking around with the Meta Quest 2 and good old Garry's Mod. The free boxing/workout apps are not bad either.

Check out "Selected Aphex Works N64" by on4word, the bangingest use of N64 sounds I've heard so far.

Thinking of going into VRChat, going up to furries and asking them what can be done to make VR more appealing to "normies" or anyone for that matter.

Fire up Garry's mod and SteamVR on the PC

Make sure you are subscribed to these mods:

VRMod - Experimental Virtual Reality

follow the instructions for that mod

VRMod Simple Hand Physics

VRMod Object Weight

VRMod manual item pickup

VRMod Interactive Buttons + other Interactions

VR HEV Hands [PM]

On the PC running Garry's mod, go to options>keyboard> and set the key that opens the developer console

open the console and type

cl_playermodel "HEV Hands"

then type:

vrmod

unpause the game

set preferred vr settings and START

click "x" on the permission request.

put on the vrheadset,grab your controllers

and set the height,

seated or standing vr settings.

test out the mods

I tested this with the following models:

Miranda Lawson NPC

You should be able to grab objects with your vr hands, head pat Shirley, play butt bongos wif Miranda. Train your phantom touch to get ready to interact with the shitstorm that is VRchat.

Once upon a time. Before Covid, before Youtube, before... 9/11 methinks I was on a bus trip to Panajachel, Guatemala. Right beisde me sat a mormon missionary and his tag-along buddy probably. Memory's all hazy. As expected, he gave me the whole "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Joseph Smith, the love of Jesus, the this, the that, the Melchizedek Priesthood, the angel Moroni, Salt Lake, blablablabla" spiel. Guatemala City to Panajachel is a solid hour and a half trip. That poor bastard wasted an hour and a half of his life and breath on someone who DON'T GIVE A FUCK, HOMEZ. Most recently, not far a way from my house there's a big ass mormon temple and a mormon shop I guess and a mormon community center or whatever. Whenever I pass by these buildings I think to myself "Gee. I wonder what's going on inside? What's going through their heads? Dafuq does it all mean?" OOOOOh boy.

Beef tongue tacos... cuz fuck it.

"Tongue meat is rich in calories and fatty acids, as well as zinc, iron, choline, and vitamin B12." Sure. My local soupy market carries beef tongue so I thought "fuck it!". Tacos de lengua it is.

Beef tongue

a big container to place the beef tongue and brining liquid in

enough water to keep all the beef tongue submerged

tablespoon of salt

tablespoon of sugar

a rosemary twig

4 or 5 cloves of garlic

onion

parsley

lard, butter or oil of your choice for frying

tortillas (in this case, a hipster grade oat flour pizza pizza was used)

Place the beef tongue in a container big enough for all the beef tongue to be submerged under water mixed with a tablespoon of salt and a tablespoon of sugar. Leave it in the fridge in the liquid for a day.

The next day, boil it for 3 hours in half of the brine it has been soaking in and half fresh water.

After 3 hours or so, the tongue will be soft enough to poke a fork through it. Cut the tongue into itty bitty pieces. You can remove the skin off the tongue, or not. I chose not to. Fry it initially at high heat with a little bit of lard, or butter, or whatever you like. Bring it down to medium heat and stir, stir, stir until all the chopped pieces turn brown.

Eat it like that or get fancy and scoop the meat into a tortilla, add chopped parsley and chopped onion and squeeze a lemon on top just to be extra fancy.
