It’s so, so, good! The lead single for the movie is also titled That Thing You Do! and is performed by The Wonders, a [fake] band from Erie, PA who’s rise to number one amongst the billboard charts is whom the movie focuses on.

Fun fact: The record label that Hanks created for the movie, Play Tone Records, is now the label where Hanks releases all the music for his films.

If I do, it’ll be a collaboration or a one-off thing, but everything I’m writing right now is for Blink-182.” … “It’s really too early to tell. At the moment all I’ve got is a bunch of chord progressions and ideas. It’s more me playing my guitar and coming up with little ideas and melodies. By the time it goes to Tom and Travis and we work on it as a band, who knows what it will sound like.”

While we don’t have a specific release date yet, we do know that the first (final) draft (photo of the preview disk above) of the Blinkumentary is done and is now being screened and reviewed.

I was doing some thinking about all the live albums I’ve ever listened to and I came to the conclusion that Taking Back Sunday’s Louder Now: Part 2 just may be the best live album ever (at least that I’ve seen and heard).

I’ve embedded a video above of “What’s It Feel Like To Be A Ghost?” which will give you a taste of what this CD/DVD has to offer. It is literally Adam Lazarra at his best. Perfect vocals, perfect stage presence — he tore it up. The entire band was rocking out really hard the entire show.

It’s also worth noting how well shot the concert was, the videographers did a fantastic job showing off the amount of energy at the show. Anyway, I don’t think my words can describe how awesome it is, so just watch the video above. I guarantee you will want to hear and watch more — it’s TBS at their finest.

Slated for January 31, 2012 A Gentle Reminder will be the first full-length album released by The Jealous Sound since the now-classic Kill Them With Kindness 2003 release. Of course, the band hasn’t been completely quiet since 2003, the 2008 EP Got Friends left you wanting so much more. So have your wishes been granted?

The good news is Blair Shehan is back (along with his gravelly, nasally vocals) with some great stuff to offer on A Gentle Reminder. The album starts off with “Beautiful Morning” (my personal favorite track) which starts off a somewhat slow and then crescendo’s into brilliance.

“Your Eyes Were Shining” [listen here] opens with a single guitar and Blair pleading, “Pray you don’t know how this feels, I pray you don’t go home alone, I pray you don’t know” — it will instantly remind you of the good old days back in 2003.

Other notable tracks on the album include “This Is Where It Starts” “Here Comes The Ride” “Perfect Timing” and “A Gentle Reminder.”

While A Gentle Reminder isn’t Kill Them With Kindness it’s definitely worthy follow-up release. I highly recommend checking it out when it drops on the 31st.

Evanescence just released the music video for their song “My Heart Is Broken.”

Overall, the song is solid and of course Amy Lee’s vocals are incredible as usual. The video definitely screams Evanescence, so fans should be pleased with the result — check it out above!
