This is a great song from long ago that fell through the cracks. It may end up on an album yet but for now you may listen for free. It is one of the first songs I ever wrote about my wife from back when I still had to fight off her other suitors with my awesomeness.

And I really did see that sunrise in Vegas.

This song is an old Axel classic. I brought it back because in a few weeks we should have some pretty rocking new tunes up on this podcast, and this is a good chance to do some old/new contrasts. This was recorded in '02 in Angel's apartment in Hollywood back when I was single and lived in the same building with my two buddies.

This was the first of 3 wedding songs I wrote in anticipation of the big day Saturday. The last one always wins, but I still love this song and I like the airy quality of this recording. This is just one guitar track, one piano track (first take), and two vocals (one lead, one backup).

I covered this on the sweet baby grand they used to have in the MCA studios right next to Anawalt lumber. That was a quite a few years ago now.

I did the Willie Nelson version of this awesome song, which I found out is owned by the state of Georgia.

I was at Room 5 the other night, sitting in with Mr. Joel so I got to catch up with a few people.

Chris Pierce was there, Mike Freas, Chet Dixon, Lovejoy, and on and on. Anyway, Babyhead (who plays his bass with Paper Sun as well) says to me: "Summer Drug" turned out awesome.

So it did.
