One of the most coolest feature in CSS 3.0 is the Box shadow property. This gives you an awesome look for all the borders you design. Let us see the syntax first.

Syntax :
{
box-shadow: <horizontal> <vertical> <blur> <color>
}

It looks simple but powerful. The first field in the property specifies the horizontal shadow, continued by the vertical shadow. The third field in the property specifies the blur ratio, followed by the color of the shadow.

Cross Browser Compatibility :

• Firefox 3.5 implements the feature as -moz-box-shadow.
• Safari Browser implementing the feature as -webkit-box-shadow.
• Microsoft Internet Explorer have DropShadow filter.
• Opera Browser users are unlucky to view this shadow property.

Follow the below steps to achieve smooth gradient in photoshop.

1] Open any image. Make new layer by clicking Create a new layer icon.

Consider the following image.

2] Set foreground color to red and background color to white.

3] Select Gradient Tool and apply to the layer you have just created. Hold Shift and apply from right to left.

4] Make a copy of the background image by dragging it to new layer icon. Position it on top as shown to the left.

5] And finally set the Opacity of the layer to 50%.
(You can do this effect by setting the blending mode to Overlay too, see which one suits you)

And finally here is your easy smoothly applied Gradient effect.

1. Create a New layer and draw a circle in it. Keep the circle active.

2. Now Go to blending options and change the fill opacity to 0% percent.

3. Apply drop shadow. choose your own settings in the drop shadow option.

4. Now apply the inner glow. Select the color as white color.

5. Now apply bevel and emboss with depth 191.

6 Use brush tool to pour drops where u want in the picture, in which you want to apply water effect.

Check the sample picture with added watermarks. Do the above steps and add water drop effect to your pictures.
