I just wanted to send you a note to let you know how much Stacey and I appreciated all the work you and your group of volunteers did at the Rocky Mountain Bead Bazaar in Denver last month. Of all the shows we do (around 30) your group is THE BEST at welcoming and supporting vendors, hands down.

I want to remind you of our decision to keep our RMBS show special offer (-$50 on CraftOptics Telescopes, -$25 on the DreamBeam Light) for RMBS members only through 12/31/13 for all RMBS Members.

We have announced the RMBS Annual Bead Sampler in our May News & Notes Member email, but wanted to re-iterate the details and encourage members to consider teaching!

The event will be held on Saturday and Sunday, July 20 & 21, 2013 at the Embassy Suites Hotel, 7525 E. Hampden Ave, Denver CO 80231 from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm.

Class Submission deadline is June 3, 2013.

Member student registration will go live on or before June 17, 2013.

Member student registration deadline is July 12, 2013.

Our sampler weekend is one of the most popular events we host each year.  This members only event is a chance for learning and sharing what we love . . . BEADS!

The event enables our members to teach other members and for members to learn in small groups to promote social interaction, education and more!  We invite you to participate and share your passion!

Teachers must be current member of RMBS.  You may apply to teach a skill such as right angle weave, metal stamping, appylying patina to metal . . . the techniques our members using in their art are endless!  Alternatively, you may teach a specific project where students make a completed piece of jewelry or art object by the end of class.

Plan your class to be two hours in duration.  Members will be given the opportunity to select up to three classes during the two day event and we will break for a catered lunch each day.

You may gear your class for beginner to advanced students.  The instructor interest form asks you to indicate what level you plan to teach and any pre-requisites that are needed to participate.

RMBS will pay $50.00 for one instructor for each class and we will not allow any class to exceed 15 participants.  If your class is better with a smaller size than 15, we will honor your maximum . . . no exceptions!  We want the teaching and student experience to be successful, fun and low stress!

When student registration ends on July 12, you will be notified of your student count.

We will reimburse each teacher up to $12 for one kit per seated student.  However, please give us an estimate of your cost per kit and keep receipts as we plan to reimburse you up to the maximum of $12.  We will review your kit contents to make sure that a fair and reasonable reimbursement is being provided by the RMBS.  This will be determined prior to your class acceptance.  You may sell additional kits to event participants if you wish.

Please fill out the form for each class you would like us to consider and submit photos no later than June
3, 2013.  We can’t wait to see all the great class ideas that come in for this fantastic event hosted entirely by the Rocky Mountain Bead Society!

Saturday March 30th at TACtile

Volunteers who will work in Beading 101 at the Bead Bazaar may attend training on Saturday, March 30 at either 9:00 am (prior to the meeting) or immediately following the general meeting. The Beading 101 chairpersons will teach volunteers to make a simple wire wrap for earrings, and string beads and crimp the closure.  Contact Beverly Reynolds if you have questions. bevr@acttinc.com.

Saturday, March 30, 2013 - 9:30 a.m. General Meeting to be held at TACtile Arts Center. Guest speaker Betcey Ventrella will review her 26 years as a beading retailer.  She will have Crystal Clay and components for sale.

Saturday, March 30, 2013 – 12:30 – 3:00 p.m. – A Crystal Clay Pendant class will be offered by Betcey Ventrella.  Class and Kit fee cost to members will be $35.  Limit of 20 students, class will be held at TACtile.  An email will go out after our February meeting with an opportunity to purchase remaining seats in the class.  Those attending the February meeting will have first shot at registration!
