Mos Factory Cutaway Building Jigsaw Illustration

Rod Hunt was commissioned by Australian street furniture design and manufacture company Mos to create the artwork for their annual jigsaw puzzle gift to their clients. This year they wanted to create a fictionalised cutaway building illustration of their offices and factory to showcase the company's production processes, manufacturing capabilities and business departments. The iconic historical industrial space the White Bay Power Station in Sydney was used as the inspiration for the factory building.

The illustrated factory features the different production stages from beginning to end including welding, CNC pipe bending, powder coating, timber bending, timber cutting and machining, assembly, quality control and final packaging. Business elements were also shown including the design department, R&D, product testing, staff recreation area, marketing, and business development. Rod created portraits of key staff members in the business that were shown working in their respective departments. From gourmet bites to social delights, the Ken Garff University Club adds a fresh spark to our evolving campus scene.

Get to Know the Club. The Ken Garff University Club operates in designated spaces on all three floors of the south end zone building. Some areas of the building are closed to club members. On game days, only football season ticket holders and athletics donors can access the building.

Restaurant Level Restaurant (A) and bar (B) with daily specials and a seasonally rotating menu; (C) Hospitality breakfast station open M-F; (D) AV-capable board‑ room for private events; (E) Patios for dining and events in warmer months.

Style, Approach and Uses of Illustrated Maps

With 30 years experience as an illustrated map designer he’s created maps for clients worldwide including schools, universities, sporting events, theme parks, tourism brands and more. His love of detailed maps was fuelled by theme park and tourist attraction maps from his childhood. Rod's own maps are usually very detailed adding layers of humour and interest often populated with little characters and easter eggs to entertain the viewers as well as inform. Clarity of navigation is essential ahead of the detail, the London Underground Map is great example of distilling a map down to its essential elements by simplifying the geography, it’s often on Rod's mind when working on a visual approach for a new map project.

MB&F MAD House Watchmaker Cutaway Building illustration by Rod Hunt

Rod Hunt was commissioned by watchmaker MB&F to create a cutaway building illustration using isometric perspective of the M.A.D House, their headquarters in a century-old house in Geneva, Switzerland. The illustration was an end of year 'Thank You' to all their friends, collectors and fans. Built between 1907 and 1908, the house’s exterior exudes history and character.

The brief called for Rod to interpret the interior and exterior of the house, include key figures in the company as well as their horological machines. Science-fiction is a big inspiration for the brand so some references to this was also included, many of their pieces look like spaceships, robots and strange creatures. The viewer also had to search and find key team members from the company.

Founded in 2005, MB&F is the world’s first-ever horological concept laboratory. MB&F turn traditional watchmaking of the highest craftsmanship into futuristic, fiercely unconventional timekeeping machines. These sculptured, three-dimensional cases and beautifully-finished engines are called ‘Machines’. MB&F is continuing to follow Founder and Creative Director Maximilian Büsser’s vision of creating 3-D kinetic art by deconstructing traditional watchmaking.

Help us find EVie! Welcome to Tusker’s ElectriCity. We can’t find our electric car EVie and her two siblings, they’re hidden somewhere in our ElectriCity – can you help us find them? There are also 11 different types of electric car chargers and cables hidden throughout the map.

Tusker is a carbon neutral company who provide both company car and salary sacrifice car schemes to UK organisations in both the public and private sector. It’s also one of the most affordable ways for employees to drive a brand new fully insured and maintained car for a fixed monthly amount taken from their salary.

50 Electric Blvd - Battersea Power Station Campaign Illustration

Rod Hunt was commissioned by Smart Soho to illustrate the launch campaign for 50 Electric Boulevard, the Fosters + Partners designed office building within the 42 acre Battersea Power Station Development. Rod created a detailed cutaway isometric illustration visualising 50 Electric Boulevard, it's interior and the surrounding Battersea neighbourhood. The illustration was animated creating a stunning film and an interactive building model, and also used across the marketing brochure, website, and other merchandise.

Set to complete in summer 2023, this latest phase of prime, next generation commercial office space has been designed by Foster + Partners and offers soaring views of the iconic Power Station.

Featuring terraces throughout the building and a private multi-use amenity space, the new 200,000 sq ft office building has been designed with smart-tech and sustainability at its heart. Located to the south of the Grade II* listed Power Station, it forms part of London’s newest pedestrianised high street: Electric Boulevard, a lifestyle destination incorporating new homes, offices, and retail as well as the new Battersea Power Station Underground entrance.

Battersea Power Station Development Map Illustration

Rod Hunt was commissioned by Smart Soho to illustrate the Battersea Power Station Development neighbourhood map as part of the launch campaign for 50 Electric Boulevard, the Fosters + Partners designed office building within the 42 acre Battersea Power Station Development.

Rod created a detailed expansive illustrated map of the overall neighbourhood of the Battersea Power Station Development including future phases. The illustration was used across the marketing brochure, website, film and other merchandise.

Battersea Power Station is at the heart of one of central London’s largest, most visionary and eagerly anticipated new developments, which will see this vast 42-acre (over 8 million sq ft) former industrial brownfield site become home to a community of homes, shops, bars, restaurants, cafes, offices and over 19 acres of public space.

The £9bn project will see the creation of a vibrant, mixed-use development, a new neighbourhood and business quarter for London, serviced by a Zone 1 extension to the London Underground Northern Line and the restoration of the Grade II* listed Power Station.

Mobile phone company Three commissioned Rod Hunt to illustrate a fun, bright and impactful 2m x 1.6m printed mural to celebrate phones, social media and our behaviours around them for their brand new Studio Three creative space underneath their flagship store on Oxford Street, London. Studio Three will be a working office space, a studio for digital creatives and an event space. The illustration needed to appeal to a young, social media native and tech-savvy audience around the theme 'PhoneAreGood’. Rod proposed creating a detailed Social Media meets London landscape that references many characters, memes and apps from the online world.

Latest Project: Sogo Cvision Koi Bumper Animation for 76m HD Video Wall

Rod Hunt was commissioned by the Sogo department store in Causeway Bay, Hong Kong to create an animated Bumper for CVISION, Asia Pacific’s largest high-resolution, LED wall. At over 72W x 19H meters in size, the media platform towers over one of the busiest, pedestrian intersections in the world. Sogo wanted the bumper to be a welcomed break from commercially-driven content and to draw inspiration from MTV and Adult Swim, the channels are known for their creative and expectation-defying bumpers. Rod was given granted artistic autonomy and thematic freedom to create an animation that showcased his creative vision and personality. Rod collaborated with animation company Bewilder.tv to bring his vision to life.

With his bumper he wanted to show that Hong Kong is not just a city with tall buildings but also has a strong connection with nature - three-quarters of the land in Hong Kong is countryside.

The story starts from the top of the mountain at Jardine’s Lookout viewing the ground from the sky, then flying over the Hong Kong Stadium and Victoria Park, finally drawing into Sogo’s CVISION and an abundance of swimming Koi fish.

The inclusion of the Koi was inspired by Rod’s visit to the Nan Lian Garden and it’s Koi pond. Koi have a great and positive symbolism in Chinese culture, representing abundance and wealth in Feng Shui. The Koi swimming out from CVISION can be seen as a blessing to bring good fortune to the surrounding area.

The brief was to create a fun, detailed and engaging Disneyland style theme park map illustration showing the race circuit and wider festival site that offers three days of Formula E fun, live music from international artists, entertainment, cultural activities and gripping city street racing.

Rod Hunt was commissioned to create three illustrations to tell the story of OYO, showcasing the company, it's services and bringing alive their history. Launched in 2013, OYO is India’s largest hospitality company. Its network currently spans over 200 Indian cities including all major metros, regional commercial hubs, leisure destinations, and key pilgrimage towns. It also has an international presence with hotels in Malaysia, Nepal and the UK.

OYO City: OYO wanted to tell their story though a stunning piece of pop art that brought alive the spirit and products/services of OYO. The final piece was installed as a large artwork in OYO Hotel rooms.

Latest Project: Time Out 50: Birthday Party Event Map Illustration

Time Out turns 50 and Rod Hunt has been commissioned to illustrate the map for Time Out 50, a one-night bonanza celebrating the very best of London across food, drink, live performances, music and more. Time Out 50 takes place at Granary Square, in London's King's Cross on Saturday September 29 2018, with a line up including comedians Reginald D Hunter, Phil Wang and Lolly Adefope, along with Alexis Taylor (Hot Chip) DJ set, the world’s biggest gin cloud from Bompas & Parr and Sipsmith, feminist wrestling group EVE, Notting Hill Carnival and choir Some Voices paying tribute to Bowie.

Latest Project: Megacity 2050 - Bloomberg Businessweek Illustration

Rod Hunt was commissioned by Bloomberg Businessweek to visualise Megacity 2050, how an idealised future city might look in 2050 incorporating new ideas in urban planning and sustainability.

Some of the featured developments include waste energy systems, vertical farming, renewable energy, floating platforms, sailing ship/airship freight, Bioswales, Geothermal heating/cooling, heat-deflecting green roofs, prefabricated homes and shaded/green-walled buildings. The city is built around walking, followed by bicycles, then electric vehicles and public transit. The final article ultimately wasn't published due to space issues in the magazine.

Each week for two weeks a lucky reader would win £50,000 of gold bars, by simply solving a series of clues linked to the great British Summer. Each of the two treasure hunts would begin with the first clue contained in the artwork of a traditional summer scene, a seaside resort and an Arts Festival in the grounds of a British castle. Minecraft is helping restore coral reefs! To celebrate the Minecraft Update Aquatic (Phase One out now in several editions of the game, and in pre-release on Java), we've been working with several partners to help the real-world oceans, through Coral Crafters – our project to help coral reefs!

We teamed up with Rabahrex, Logdotzip and Stacyplays. They worked with their fans to design unique structures that help restore coral reefs in our oceans. But why does this matter? And more importantly, how does it help the oceans?

Digital Catapult wanted to create a pictorial representation of how their vision of a digital world will look like across their three technology sectors namely, Immersive (AR, VR and MR), Connected (IoT and 5G) and Intelligent (AI and ML). The report outlines their approach to helping make this new age digital world a reality and assist creative and manufacturing industries to produce the products, applications and services that meet and surpass the future demands of their customers.

Share the love, not the aids virus. In France, apps dating conquered the cities. 1/4 French people is registered on a dating platform and 2 out of 3 admit to go on it for a “one night” date. It has never been so easy to find a partner, and in fact, the risk of encountering the HIV virus has never been so big. AIDES recalls that in France, 25.000 people are infected with the HIV virus without knowing it. And 6.000 people discover their HIV status each year.

In that context, AIDES launch a viral activation that compared twitter's viral nature and reach with how viruses spread in real life. A campaign created by its agency TBWA\Paris aiming to remind how important it is to protect itself, no matter how you met.
