Life of a full time mommy... aka full time wife...

i am 26 years old..

i am a full time wife and mommy..

i did feel sad and frustrated when i need to give up my job as a nurse

my ambition was to be a passionate nurse

but i believed God know what is the best for me

i was an excellence student

i scored well during my university time

i promised myself with all kinds of dreams in the future

but the dreams broke into pieces when i got pregnant

but i am happy because it is a beautiful, wonderful blessings

unfortunately i cried too..

during my pregnancy, i stayed mostly in happy mood

because i wants my baby to be a happy man

i served my patients with my sincere cares

because i wants my baby to be a caring person

i was blessed with abundant of loves by patients

because i wants my baby to be a blessing to others

i took a BIG step to resign

many people encouraged

but many people discouraged too

i love my job

but i love my family more

some one needs to do something to ensure the happiness of a family

i think God assign me to do that

i dealt and socialize when i worked as a nurse

but now i am stay-at-home-mom

sometime i feel i am a loner

but when i saw my You Cheng smiled and laugh

my heart melt

it is more worth than anything in the world

i want to be a good mommy aka wife

the loves overcome everything

although sometime i did cry and cry

i though i had postpartum blue

but loves won

financially, memang a bit tight
no more luxury spending
but i believe God will provide
i always remember
God even cares for the birds on the sky
why should we human worry so much
the things on earth just so temporarily

i thanks God for my little You Cheng

he truly a blessing for me and Roey

he is a good boy!

i thanks God for my understanding hubby
although i got angry easily towards him
but i still loves him
the more i angry, the more i care.. :P

mommy got back to work since 24th June. Grandma, 姑姑，姨姨 and daddy took care of me very good. mommy really thanks them for the help.. :) they really got hard times with me.. hee... :P because i am very "naughty".. with 姨姨... ;) 姑姑always play and chat with me.. but i always "dance" in front of her.. (dance = cry).. :P 05.07.2012: Grandma taught me 拍拍手... i love it so much. Grandma said i am so playful and talkative... :) i am a happy boy.. :D i love to smile... :) mommy forced me sleep like that.. huhu... :( 08.07.2012: mommy wanted to buy me car seat. so i went anakku, Farlim to choose my car seat. this one cost mommy rm399. but seems i do not really like this one.. :P i wanted better and more expensive one... haha.. then i hoop to another car seat.. haha... red red colour one. this one better. this one cost mommy rm469 with discount 10%.. actually mommy and daddy still surveying the car seat. but i already "put put"on the car seat.. the car seat stained. so terpaksalah mommy bought for me. :P mommy helped me adjust the seat belt.. :) tang tang tang... yes, i got my car seat already.. :) my very FIRST大头照。。。 i am "anakku" supporter... :) 14.07.2012: daddy and mommy brought me to visit great grandma for 4days 3nights Malacca trip.. so nice!!! my very FIRST outstation trip.. :D finally i able to meet with great grandma... :) i pose at Malacca.. :) post 1. post 2.. post 3... post 4... last post.. :) i went gai gai around Malacca.. :) 17.07.2012: thanks great grandma, great yi po for angpaus. 11.06.2012: i started like to sleep on mommy's chest

12.06.2012: erm.. mommy said i has a lots of dandruff or commonly called as cradle cap. so mommy started to do hair treatment for me every morning. mommy will put baby oil and massage my hairs softly. after 15 min, we comb out the dandruff using comb. lastly shower my hairs with shampoo.

Got married.. 18.06.11. 1 & 2 months of pregnant: i did feel nausea during early pregnancy (i thought it caused by caffeine overdose)... ;p coffee lover.. 04.09.2011, positive pregnancy test. Pregnancy changes.. vomited 5 times, appetite increased, sure lead to weight gain (my sis, chiou yen said i eat like a guy..) Baseline weight, 64kg.


3 months pregnant (my mom: preg ad, don't wear ketat2.. :p)

3 months pregnant: went to Cameron with dear and mommy

4 months pregnant: how i hope my son will be as cute as him (my cousin's son)

4 months pregnant: back to roey's house at Terengganu while able (travel by bus very tiring). i missed Trg foods a lot (mengidam), such as Keropok, nasi minyak, nasi dagang (the most), ah hoe keow teow, chuan kee chicken rice, etc.. :p

5 months pregnant: oops.. cannot wear my normal uniform le.. terpaksa pakai maternity uniform (getting fatter)

5 months pregnant: my weight increased drastically until need to do glucose tolerance test (mujur negative)

6 months pregnant: my legs swollen...

7 months pregnant: celebrating Valentine's day with dear..


8 months pregnant: taken photos at Kuang Yee bridal house (very tiring, but satisfied)

9 months pregnant: during 37 weeks (20.04.2012), ultrasound made.. doctor said wah, your baby very big. estimated weight 3.7kg. you better do elective operation. if not, dangerous.decision was made between roey and me. date fixed, parents informed. i prayed hard to God. prayer listened. weight, 89kg.. huh..

25.04.2012: he was brought safely to the world at 37 weeks 5 days of pregnancy. weight, 3.91kg. length, 53cm.

25.05.2012: mommy brought me to Klinik Desa Paya Terubong.. don't do what... oops.. for 2nd hep B injection.. painful. my weight now was 5.5 kg (increased 1.59kg), height 57cm (increased 3cm).. GOOD!

26.05.2012: mommy tried me on bottle feeding, as preparation mommy go back to work. papa helped out. fortunately no nipple confusion.. clever boy.

27.05.2012: i slept.. when i woke up, i terkejut why my hair so short ad.. (my First hair cut)

27.05.2012: my lovely hairs were gone. but i am happy because i feel cooler with short hair.. yeah!

30.05.2012: this 姑姑 so pretty..

why his face got so many red spots? erm.. these were caused by milk splashing on his face when feeding time (especially during night time, i was so sleepy). i was still unable to get used to wake up to feed him.. haiz.. needed some time.. he was 11 days.

he got jaundiced. some people said it was caused by blood group incompatibility. roey is A positive while i am B positive. bb is O positive. some said due to his big size, c-sec bb, he is chinese.. haha.. erm.. anyway, the bilirubin level went down as i continued to breast feed him. His liver became more mature as time goes. Last checked, 04.06.2012.. 120 mmol/L. both moms said kena sindai matahari.. good also, let him get enough vitamin D. but the sunlight should be before 9 am.

15 days: everyone said wah he looked so big ad. until my aunt called me.. what you feed him? i proudly said, just breast milk.. haha... i am proud to be exclusively breast feeding mom. i am thankful because my family were supportive, especially my mom-in-law, mommy, hubby etc.. i was glad. most people will say:" breast milk nia? enough bor?" believe me.. enough as long as you have the will. but you need to have enough calories intake (do not think of dieting so fast, for the sake of bb), good protein intake (eat more fishes), good hydration (drink more water) and good patience (breast feeding bb hungrier faster because breast milk easily digested.. so need to feed more frequently).

25.04.2012: baby still in my belly. fasting since 12 am. on bp and ctg monitoring. mama heart rate, 80. baby heart rate, around 140. no contraction, since i admitted for elective c-sec. i felt so nervous. my first operation.. now i felt what patient felt.. honestly, i felt pain kena masuk tiub kencing, kena masuk branulla... last time, i put for people. now.. haha.. me sendiri kena..

10 am... awaiting ot call. when arrived ot, i felt less anxious as i met some friends who worked there. they calmed me a lot. thanks narrie etc.. some more, the anaesth is dr Khoo. thanks God. i had been given epidural, felt like vomiting. but, after 5 minute, i unable to feel my legs. at that time, roey came in, i felt less scared.

operation started.. after 20 minute, i felt like crying because i heard "him" crying. joyous tears... i saw him. first i saw was his hairs, so banyak.. patut my body always itch when pregnant.. myth.. nurse cleaned him. im vitamin k given to him.

he cried.. to expand his lungs.

then he stopped crying..

i called him ah boy. he smiled.


then dr Khoo helped us to take family photo.


estimated weight 3.7kg. but finally come out, 3.91kg. haha... patutlar i felt my tummy so heavy. big bb need monitoring. first glucose checked, 2.8 (low blood sugar, normal should more than 3). erm.. dr Khaw (pediatrician) asked to give formulated milk. but the staff there encouraged breast feeding. they brought the bb for me. i really want to thanks them. second checked, 3.4... yeah, normal.

my milk production still cannot achieve his needs.. hourly feeding. haha.. till he so hungry suck his thumb..at 3rd days, serum bilirubin checked. it was high, 218.9. kena tinggal hospital for photo therapy. the next day, 165.. yahoo.. can go home le. his thyroid function test, g6pd was normal. thanks God. and he is O positive...

Miracles from God_9 months and 10 days...

Miracle... i never think i will get marry and has my own family. i am a mother at 26. i never think roey will be my husband and i am expecting a baby now. Blessing from God. When i was young, my hope is to be going to war countries to help the victims. My ambition is to be a nurse. But now i am married. Become a nurse in my own country fulfill my dreams. Sometimes i did feel stress when i work as nurse. But meanwhile i feel satisfaction. i am happy when i see patients were healed. i feel satisfied when patient remember me due to my nursing care. i smile when i see my patient smile. Will all these stopped when he is bring to the world? During beginning of my pregnancy... i doubt... i upset.. why God sent him at this time? But when i saw him growing days by days in my tummy.. i saw miracles. i started to appreciate God blessing to me. i faced patients with infertility. i saw their hopes. Deep in my heart.. i am pregnant and i does not appreciate. i am so covered with the earthly things. He is the unconditional loves God sent to me and roey. Boy.. mommy wants to say sorry for every hard feelings arise upon your presence. Mommy loves you!

Time flies.. i am 26 already. In hospital, i saw people excited over new life, people getting sad over aging/sickness/death. Some patient has their beloved ones at their bedside when they are facing death. But some are not. They are alone. Life is very short. Nowadays, some even get heart attack or stroke at the age of 30+. We unable to predict our life. Only God knows it. We really need to appreciate whoever, whatever around us.

i work as a nurse... but i never knew how it is feel when i am the one to be catheterized.. to be put on heplock.. to be inject at the buttock. i will keep saying to my patient.. it will hurt "a bit", like kena gigit semut. Some patient will shout before i touch them. Some will say:"nurse, never mind. It does not hurt at all." (although i poke him or her few times) Next two more days, i will be the patient. The nurse will tell me the same thing (i think so). 25 april 2012 (same date with my dad birthday), i choose my baby to be come out via cesarean. The feeling is so hard. i am telling myself to be courageous, not to be scared. But deep inside, i worry, excited. Finally.. after carry him for 9 months and 10 days, he is coming out. i am curious how he will be look like. Every year.. roey and i undergo BIG event. Last year, we were busy preparing our wedding. This year, we are busy preparing to receive new member in our house. Being pregnant made me think a lot. With God will, i hope i able to provide him a good cares.

Home Baking - Peanut Butter Cookies

Wow, we've been spending half day doing 1 of the Chinese new year cookies which is peanut butter cookies. It looks great and taste nice too. If you have time, you can also do it yourself. :D Here is the recipe..

Ingredients:

140 g plain flour

1/2 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

115g butter, at room temp

165 light brown sugar

1 egg

1 teaspoon vanilla esence

265 crunchy peanut butter (wow, expensive cookies if you buy branded peanut butter.. :P)

Steps...

Sift together the flour, bicarbonate of soda and salt and set aside.
Cream your butter and sugar until light and fluffy using electric mixer. Add the egg and continue beating to blend.
In another bowl, mix the egg and vanilla, then gradually beat into the butter mixture.
Stir in the peanut butter and blend thoroughly. Then, stir in the dry ingredients (#1). Refrigerate for at least 30 min...
Preheat oven to 180C.
Make round shape and press flat with a fork. Make a criss-cross pattern. Bake 16-18minutes until lightly coloured.

Make the dough into ball shape. Then press flat with a fork. Make a criss-cross pattern

Bake @ 180C for 15-16 minutes

Cool it down and ready to serve! :D

Fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. One of the fruit i feel most is joy. Since i got pregnant, i feel so joyful. Feel with loves surrounding me. First was from my hubby. He cared for me.He was sensitive with my emotional and my needs. I feel thankful for having him as my hubby and my baby father. One of my colleague told me she hate to see her husband when she was pregnant. But i am totally different. I wish to stick to him and follow him around. I feel secured when he is around me. MY family, colleagues, friends cares make me feel so been loved and blessed.

Since this pregnancy.. i like to cry. But this is the cry from a joyful heart. Every month, i see him is growing up in my belly. He make me feel so blessed and loved. Every day and night, i imagine how he will look like. I pray, pray and pray so that he is healthy in my belly. I started to imagine future life with him around running here and there. I just hope my hubby and i will be able to provide a happy surrounding for him. He is just a beautiful and biggest blessing that God had grant us. Nothing can be compared to any blessings that God had grant me. Four more months to go, mommy eagerly waiting for you outside. Mommy loves you so much, dear... :D

Curry Puff 2!

Well, if you happen to read my wife's blog (Love of Curry Puffs) and my blog (Back Hometown Is really Nice) recently, probably you know that I'm making some curry puffs. I'm new in making curry puffs and I'm always trying.. :)

On the 26th Oct, I got the curry puff recipe from my mom through phone and make it for my wife to eat. Actually, it is nice looking, but not really nice to eat. haha! :P

Yeah, MY PARENTS! I went back hometown last 2 weeks and ask my parents to show me how to do the curry puffs... I recorded down all their procedure and spent every single time with them during curry puffs session! I even have the video.. :)
The only thing that I not manage to do well is the "flower" of the curry puffs.

My wife's relative! They come to visit grandpa and celebrate my wife's cousin's son birthday this weekend. So they stay at my house around 4-5 days. While we chit-chat, I mentioned abt my curry puffs that I made last few weeks ago and it was not taste so good... Wow, they gave so many advices and end up, they plan to teach me! What a golden opportunity! So, we buy all the cooking materials and make curry puff yesterday...

The method is quite different from my parents but both also very nice. They also teach me how to do the "flower" of the curry puffs. I think, the biggest achievement would be the "flower" of the curry puff. I no longer need to use this... I use my own hand to do the flower! :D

Back Hometown Is Really NICE!!!

I took Friday off to travel back to hometown last week. That day was really excited and full of energy to drive back home, even though it took us 6 and half hours, we don't mind at all. (I think we were around 2 months no back hometown)

We started to Zzz at 9pm and plan to wake up at 3am to start our journey. As we were too excited, we couldn't sleep well. You know what, I woke up without alarm, if I'm not mistaken, it was 3.03 in the morning! Haha.. :)

My wife and I craved for so many Terengganu foods... Err, I'm not the one having baby anyway, but I also "Idam".. Sorry, food craving.. :P
Below was the food list that we had targeted! Haha, so far, 85% successfully accomplished (Sounds like a mission...)

1. Keropok Lekor SukaRamai (Near Merang) - Accomplished
2. Chuan Kee Chicken Rice - Accomplished
3. Nasi Minyak - Accomplished
4. Nasi Kuning - Accomplished
5. Nasi Dagang - Left out.. :'(
6. Nasi Lemak - Accomplished
7. Ah Hoe Char Kuey Teow - Accomplished (My wife fav)
8. Last but not least, Our lovely mom's cooks - Curry is the best! - Accomplished

On these few days, my parents made us curry puffs... Wow, It was so delicious! I totally lost to my dad but, I'm very smart one, I took his video (like chef wan in the TV.. :P) and take back Penang and learn... Well, I'm serious... I took a lot of potatoes back, and plan to do it this weekend! :D

Oh ya, we also had steamboat together with my parents, ling's parents and my cousins... We ate until so FULL that we hardly can breath !!! My bro said, once we back home, sure got a lot of foods to eat, haha, I agree because we started it. :P

Pantai Batu Buruk... My dad CUTI and we plan to go to Batu Buruk beach to see sunrise but no Sun at all, cloudy day.. Anyway, Nice Nice, it was so comfortable. My bro not in because he said he wanted to study wor.. Haha, he is really hardworking.
