It has been a long time sense I have posted, mostly taking advantage of all the sun that one could get before another nasty winter pisses on my parade.

A terrible thing has happen! A thing that could make a grown man cry (repeatedly) I have to resort to Dial Up .

That’s right DAIL UP! A low point, yes… but can one so exist… I mean cope? live? on dial up before putting a gun to ones mouth and squeezing for a fast death. I know that sounds dire, but when you have suckled from the teat of broadband for years. How can one go on?

I’ll tell you how, no dammed choice.

And suicide is too expensive, have you seen how much it cost to cremate!

Levitating Linda

My friend Linda volunteer for some of my photography madness. The gig, was to have Linda levitate herself, now that might seem difficult, but with help from modern miracles of photoshop, a green screen and a digital camera, the possibilities are limitless.

Linda levitates her digital twin sister. Now all you need to do is put in a background, or just keep it simple white.

Green screen the blues away

I got a few thing in the mail last week that were purchased from eBay. A 9’x15’ green screen with holder and three photography studio strobe lights. I have been practicing with them, the green screen works like what your local weather man has on the news, making it easy to key out the background and add in whatever you would like.

The inspiration for the photo above comes from work, like when I receive call after call about a customer that needs something right away. Believe me, that is exactly how it feels. The tin can telephone symbols cell phones, I write this because younger readers may have never played tin can telephones. I used to play this as a kid back in BG (before Google) a long time ago!

A tough couple of weeks

This winter has been a drag. Last couple of weeks I have a few problems at work with the delivery truck breaking down that kinda puts a monkey wrench into things. The days have been short and I think I am depressed, just want to go home from work and go to bed and dream of warm places. The last couple of days the sun has been shining and it makes me feel good, and happy like a puppy with two peckers. If it warms up a little more, I’ll get it together.

Horoscopes Wrong

According to Yahoo News because of the wobbly earth everyone's horoscope is screwed up. Now this could be good news for some, especially if your born under a bad sign like me for example, Capricorn. A crazy half fish, half goat, trying to make it up the mountain, while my tail is stuck in the sea. This causes serious back aches, the kind that my second hand back massager can’t work out the kinks. Plus Capricorns are shallow among many other bad traits. The good news is that we are hard workers and that seems to be the only time we are happy. Well that sucks! I’m ready for a new sign!

Elk Viewing Tour Baker Oregon

The first day of January was cold around –3 when we arrived for the T & T Wildlife Tours. I have been wanting to get out there for a couple of years now sense hearing about the tours and view the elk the winter snow has pushed down from the mountains.

The sun was burning nice and bright on the way to Powder River and the cold, although severe, was barely noticeable with a great wintertime scene on the perspective.

T and T provide a wagon to transport you in no more than a few yards of the elk herd and a bonfire to keep warm while waiting for additional elk viewers to arrive.

On the descent to the observing area, are guides provide us with some knowledge on the elk and the surrounding area. It is not long before we can see the elk. They are waiting for the hay that the good people of T and T will provide.

On arrival, the horses are unhitched from are wagon and then re-hitch to the hay wagon to feed the elk. I am told the crew at T&T do this once a day. Being on the first tour we had the good luck that this was the moment, they feed the elk and more photos taking time for us.

These are by no means tame elk. They are wild elk that return year after year to this spot, feed and escape starvation due to the winter snow covering vegetation.

<- A couple of cow elks have a spat over some hay.

After a little bad noise, they quiet and return to feed.

After tallying up photos shot on my D90 and D40 I ended up with over 600 photos and a great day enjoying wildlife.
