Singer Usher Raymond told Posh24.com that his all time favorite Christmas gift was a pair of roller skates that he got when he was 10 years old.

“My favorite Christmas gift was a pair of roller skates at the age of 10. I always wanted to learn how to skate when I was a kid. When I went to the skating rink, I never owned my own skates before. I love to skate, not a lot of people know that,” the singer Usher said.

No wonder Usher is always making songs that are just right to skate to, the man has got skating in his blood.

Last month Venus and Serena Williams held their 3rd annual Williams Invitational tournament with an 80′s retro theme. The event was held in Florida for family and friends. Serena did her best to blast back to the past with an 80′s outfit complete with roller skates. I think George Clinton would be proud. Come to think of it, Grand Master Flash and the Furious Five might want to take dibs on this outfit as well. Other celebrities at the party included Bryant McKinnie and Vernon Davis. I bet Serena could destroy a roller derby track with some coaching. Hmmm…what would be a good roller derby name for Serena? “Sister Slam”……nah. How about “Love and Aces”!….yah..hmmm….let me think about this one a bit more.

Gabrielle Union helps set roller skating record

Actress Gabrielle Union who is currently dating NBA star Dwayne Wade helped to set a roller skating record Saturday April 7th at Collins Park in Miami. The event which was organized by Evian Water took place on Miami’s fashionable South Beach and set the record for the Longest Conga Line on Roller Skates. There were free roller skates and a temporary rink put in place, not to mention the free ice cream and giveaways. Yes it was a publicity stunt, but no one was harmed and everyone had a good time. How long was the line you ask? 197 people,hmmmm….I think I could beat that!!! Look out Evian, I’m coming for you.
