2025 New PC Resolution (RTX 3050 6GB)

2025-02-12T06:09:00.000-08:00

CPU: Intel Core i5-7400
GPU: Nvidia RTX 3050-6GB
SSD: Patriot P210 1024GB
SSD: SanDisk SSD Plus 120GB
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 2TB (2018)
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB (2016)
RAM: Samsung M378A2K43CB1-CRC 2x16GB
MBD: Asus H110M-K

After testing GTX 1070, RX Vega 56 as my substitute GPU in 2024, I've decided to grab a new MSI RTX 3050 6GB VENTUS from CompuWay and I'm impressed that it is able to hold on to games at proper 1080P 60FPS as long the game is well optimized.

My overall DIY gaming spec is based on 2013 until 2025 where I just change PC parts that needs replacement. I hope that I can upgrade the CPU and MOBO in another 6-8 years later too! Overall, I enjoyed my gameplay at Black Myth: Wukong and Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth at the FPS of around 60-80FPS.

The DIY PC Upgrade 2024

2024-12-30T04:43:00.000-08:00

After more than 8 years, I have searched for used PC parts and new ones to upgrade my i5-3570 + GTX 1050 Ti into something better.

Bought several stuffs at Shopee:

i5-7400
H110M-K
32GB DDR4 RAM 2133MHz
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070
Patriot P210 SSD SATA GEN III 1TB

And the result? I have made my cost of nearly RM1200 to do this upgrade. I'm so far satisfied with the gaming performance at AAA game titles such as NARAKA Bladepoint, Honkai: Star Rail and etc...

Will do another upgrade in 5-10 years later.

Milotic ex (SV8 Pokemon TCG's New Surprise Meta)

2024-10-21T02:30:00.000-07:00

Can Milotic ex actually stay at Tier 2 or Tier 3? I guess it can. It works similar to control decks alongside Noivern ex. Here's a slight glimpse of the future Pokemon TCG SV8 meta!

As you can see, the text is as follows!

Ability: Shimmering Scales
This Pokemon is immune to damages or effects from the opponent's Tera Pokemon.

My POV: This is an very OP ability as you literally blocked all the damages and effects from ex Pokemon?! That's crazy.

Hypno Slash with 160 Damage? You are able to put your opponent's Pokemon to sleep as well. That's pretty much a partial control deck which will be annoying in the meta to come.

Thanks to Google Translate, I can plan ahead to understand what SV8 to SV9 card's effect and ability easily!

Eevee ex Pokemon TCG 2025 Sneak Peek

2024-10-20T02:00:00.000-07:00

Based on 20th October 2024's reveal of future Pokemon TCG timeline, we are being teased with Eevee ex 2025's version card!

Here's my Google Translation app trying to zoom in for the ability's text translation. It is still partially revealed but can't figure what it's going to be like!

Eevee has been one of the most famous Pokemon's to date since 1996's and it's a definite Pokemon choice for most GameBoy Color era gamers.

Can't wait to see how it'll be in the Pokemon TCG meta in 2025!!!

Sarawak Old But Glorious Esports Man (Royce, That's Me!)

2021-12-21T01:46:00.003-08:00

As of 20th November 2021, I have achieved numerous results in Dota 2 to MLBB showmatch which consisted of high level players! What a run throughout the year.

CONFIRMED RESULT:

TOP 32 - DreamLeague Season 14 DPC EU Open Qualifier #2 (Yung Lean)

2ND PLACE - Dota Plus Battle Cup SEA Division Tier 8 (KUNTE CHUTYA)

1ST PLACE - Serba Dinamik Dota 2 Championship Season 1 (Team Mask) RM2500 + Trophy

TOP 16 - The AsiaBet33 Championship S1 (Team ?)

1ST PLACE - Dota Plus Battle Cup EU Division Tier 8 (za ilyxy otpizgy)

1ST PLACE - Predator Gaming MLBB Showmatch 2021 (Team Chikanook) RM2500
1ST PLACE - GosuAwards TI10 Dota 2 Voting Award (RollsRoyce) USD$500 Apple Gift Voucher

I would like to thank Team Mask as well for hiring me to manage / stand-in when needed. Also, having played with many Tier 3 players that's closely Tier 2 youth players are so great in SEA region. It's not easy to coach or get opportunities to work with. I believe in my skills all the way.

So far, all these results are amazing. You can even find one of them at

http://e-clubmalaysia.com/dota2/serba-dinamik-dota-2-championship-2021-season-1/

TEAM MASK IS SARAWAK DOTA 2 LAN EVENT CHAMPION IN 2021!!!

Still, trying to help many SEA/EU/NA region players to get their own team, most of them are teamless 7-10K MMR players. It's not very easy as you think it is. It's hard to get noticed sometimes but hopefully people will notice the talents they actually need to hire.

Not here to flex or what but there's always been a year that I've proved myself now as Royce formerly RollsRoyce 10 years ago as my gamer's nickname. I also claimed the SEA's best winning voters award at GosuGamers which I've patron for a decade. All this efforts are without of any other people's help, true, pure Esports in heart with well managed resources.

Thanks to those who have always trust the power and skills as a semi-pro gamer with full-time job, not easy for a 32 years old as well. Onto a challenging 2022, more Esports adventure to look at!

BSN SSP

2021-03-09T06:36:00.011-08:00

BSN SSP is a mandated product of Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) where the customer can participate in BSN SSP's draw and stand a chance to win attractive draw prizes. It is a unique Shariah-compliant savings product that open to an individual customer as young as 12 years old.

My Review:

I think it is a good saving portfolio for those young people who are still on primary to secondary school time. Even for those 20's to 30's can start saving with the minimum deposit of only RM10. Why SSP? I think it is a good saving scheme for people who loves saving for at least 20-30 years.

SSP is a very decent savings product and also offers weekly / monthly contest which consist of winning around MYR currency above RM10,000 etc for the winner. Just make it as your alternative savings account which you can use in near future!

There are various savings product in the Malaysia market and I think I'll review some again in future. The choice is YOURS!!!

Product Rating : 7/10

It's been a while back to my blog. Just to share with you guys is that BSHR 2019 has yet to be announced. You may only "Kemaskini" your current BSHR 2018 which was then the old BR1M led by the government that has been overthrown as of 9th May.

So, all Malaysians have to wait for the next actual BSHR 2019 announcement before we can check-in and get our incentive from the current government "Pakatan Harapan". All the best, this is just an announcement prior to many other websites not showing the actual new date of BSHR 2019.

By all means, just hold on and do your job / part-time and earn for Christmas.

Sincerely,
Royce (The Sarawak Gamer)

How To Defeat Zapdos At Pokemon GO

2017-08-07T20:52:00.000-07:00

Zapdos is a Level 5 / Legendary Tier Raid Boss. It is one of the Legendary Raid Bosses in Pokemon GO. You cannot defeat it easily by going solo. We recommend at least 12 players to take Zapdos down with ease.

As known, Zapdos is a ELECTRIC and FLYING type and there are few Pokemon's with strong counters.

CP of Zapdos Raid Boss is 42961 CP and it has Max Capture CP of 1902.

Based on reliable China source, there are 6 best counters against Zapdos. Translated into English as BELOW!!!

Golem - Rock Throw | Stone Edge
Tyranitar - Bite | Stone Edge
Dragonite - Dragon Breath | Outrage
Rhydon - Rock Smash | Stone Edge
Jinx - Frost Breath | Avalanche
Poliswine - Ice Shard | Avalanche

USEFUL TIPS

Zapdos is weak against ICE / ROCK type skills and it's super effective! So, grab more Dragonite's and Tyranitar if you must. If your raid group have players below Level 25, make sure they get whatever ROCK type Pokemon's to survive and deliver some battle supports.

Desktop PC & Laptop

2017-02-25T04:51:00.003-08:00

25 years of PC gaming back when Red Alert 1 was made. I remembered the times when I played 8-bit games around the 90's era and now we have evolved into the Gen Y industry. Having saved a lot of money to divide into two personal gadgets to use. Here's my midrange PC and laptop I have used along my gaming journey!

Now, I had intention to upgrade my laptop's HDD into SSD as a start and up to 8GB RAM possible. With AMD Ryzen released, I might need to save a lot more before I can change my i5 3570 processor into their awesome one's estimated around RM7xx as replacement in future. Enjoy gaming!

Pentium G4560

2017-02-21T18:17:00.000-08:00

Why choose Intel Pentium G4560 over your older i3 and i5 model? The answer here is "Value". This is the very first time you hear in 2017 that Pentium undergoes Hyper Threading technology and with that 2 Core 4 Thread norm in this spectacular budget CPU, you are actually comparable to those with i3 7th gen users in mind.

It also uses Kaby Lake as it's name for the processor and it's widely new. Here's a quote from several online articles that has proven that G4560 is worth your 2017 budget and the slow economy across the globe.

Quote from Eurogamer.net:

"To test the Pentium G4560, we put together a budget-orientated PC gaming set-up. The Z270 boards we've previously used for reviewing the unlocked Core 'K' chips are replaced with a more modest MSI B250 Mortar board. The B250 chipset has no CPU overclocking facilities whatsoever, making motherboards based on this set-up better suited for a budget build. However, the B250 chipset has a secret weapon - support for 2400MHz DDR4 memory, compared to the 2133MHz limit on RAM imposed on all Skylake processors. We've yet to confirm it, but even cheaper H110 boards may support 2400MHz RAM too - but it will require an updated BIOS.

But the point is that this support for additional memory bandwidth is significant. Prior Digital Foundry processor reviews have found a distinct relationship between CPU performance in gaming and faster memory. This is especially significant for lower-end chips like the Core i3 line and the Pentium G4560 - because you are far more likely to be CPU-bound using one of these chips, so anything that can push up lowest recorded frame-rates is obviously a good thing. And this is borne out in the benchmarks where the move from 2133MHz DDR4 to the new 2400MHz standard effectively allows the Pentium to overcome its clock-speed disadvantage against the Core i3 6100. In six out of the seven games we tested, the G4560 with 2400MHz DDR4 matches the performance of an i3 6100 paired with slower memory."

AMD Ryzen Price Leak

2017-02-15T17:51:00.000-08:00

AMD Ryzen have been releasing their price to several sources and it was by then leaked around early February 2017. The chart below shows the Ryzen processors that is going to ship and battle against i5 and i7 series from Intel. It looks promising as even the Ryzen 5 series may outclass the likes of i7 7th-Gen processor series.

Then again, which Ryzen series are you going for? The budget type or the midrange one's? I would prefer to wait until the official announcement at 28th February which is next Tuesday for the announcement.

In my whole opinion, I would still prefer Intel as they offer the most recent Kaby Lake processor called G4560 which is far more convincing than choose the pricey Ryzen series unless your up for it. I'll be posting about why choosing Pentium G4560 is much better for your CPU value and how it saves your budget for another future upgrade.

This is by far the best website to measure what you should get or what you should need to skip. As for the best budget for people with extremely tight budget, GT 730 is good to go despite criticism about it being cheap and unreliable. Trust me, it still works on common games you play nowadays excluding AAA titles.

Also, if you wanted a better midrange budget GPU, go for RX 460 or 1050 Ti. And for the richie rich of gamers, you can opt for 1070 to 1080 series that is released recently from 2016 and now expanding until 2017.

There is also news rumor of NVIDIA Volta and I believed that would be announced in forth quarter of 2017 while AMD is also having their next-gen GPU which is named Vega. How much would they fare?

We should find out while enjoying our current GPU's until late 2020 to see new changes ahead!

Geforce GTX 1050 Ti

So, after upgrading for over a decade, I pumped up closer to a great GPU from Geforce brand. Goodbye to my R7 260x from Radeon, it served me well for the 3 years plus but it wasn't enough. After pushing my budget limit, I managed to grab hold of it and there you go!

For those who wants to play Ultra Settings for next-gen games, I advise to purchase Radeon RX460 or Geforce 1050 series as you can bare for another 5-10 years of gaming. Nevertheless, Royce have wasted more than RM10K+++ for so many CPU I have when I was young but after I'm older, I set the rules.
