Education is the Best Way for Your Jobs and Careers

It is a cold and gloomy night. The rain is falling with a passionate pitter patter and the light in the house comes from the flicker of a thousand lit candles. They sky has been crying for days and the thunder cracking is less than funny to our terrified little terrier, Tina. I have my own problems though. Getting into college.

I am the son of a doctor who has been sued for basically all that he has. My mother was a cowardly little woman who divorced the family two years ago when she learned of my father’s misfortune. She couldn’t live with knowing that her husband killed a man out of malpractice, ignorance, or whatever she claims as her pathetic reason for abandoning us. I haven’t heard from her since the morning she kissed me on the cheek and “took off for work”.

My father is not a bad man. He is a man of his word. He has made mistakes, but he is not a bad man. I am not a bad person because my father has made mistakes. I had had dreams of walking the sidewalks of Harvard Law School. I have a passion for justice that is stronger than the strongest hurricane to ever have kissed any shore on Earth. I am wise beyond my years, but I still could not have predicted that my life would go from privileged to poor in a matter of hours.

As I speak, I am sitting at my desk looking at a stack of essays that had taken many hours of thoughtful ideas and a few peculiarly painful papercuts. This essay was for a scholarship amounting to one thousand dollars. That one for a mere two hundred. I whisk away a tear as I realize that what once would have been a secured spot on Harvard’s campus has now been reduced to a desperate plea for a few dollars in hopes that I can piece together enough money to get through one semester.

I will not blame my father. He has been dealt a card far more horrific than mine. He will never be able to show his face in the community again as a reputable physician. I cannot blame my mother as she probably has taken a long walk off of the face of the planet. You cannot blame what no longer exists. I can only look forward, into this rainy abyss and pray that God will bless me enough to send me to Harvard. God, I need these scholarships!

Getting a good education is something that is very important in my family. My parents and older siblings all went on to receive degrees for themselves after high school, and that is what I had always been planning to do, as well. But, when I was in my early teens, I started to get distracted. I started wondering why I was striving for something that just seemed to be so hard. I started slacking off and ignoring my studies. My grades went down, but I didn’t care about any of that. I felt more free than I ever had before in my life. It was exhilarating.

I lived that way for a few years before my parents took me aside and talked with me. They asked me why I was living like I was, and they told me that if I continued on that path I would ruin my life. I didn’t want to believe them, but the more I thought about it the more that I realized that their words were true. I really was ruining my life by letting my grades slip. I was ruining any chance that I had of furthering my education, and I had to do something to change before it was too late.

From that point on I stopped playing around and started studying harder. I paced myself in school and my grades slowly went back up. When I found out that I was graduating at the top of my class I could not believe it. I had almost thrown away my chances of making it in the world. I had almost thrown away my chance at getting a good career. But, thanks to my parents, I hadn’t. I am now on my way to getting a degree for myself, and I couldn’t be happier about it.

I cannot believe that I am going to actually be a graphic designer. I came along way in order to finally do something that I always wanted to do. I had a very rough childhood. My mother died when I was very young, and my father was not in fit condition to take care of me and my sister. My sister and I were passed along to a few different foster homes, and finally when I was about 14 years old I ran away from one of my foster parents. I decided to live on the streets on my own, because that seemed like it was a lot better than having to be passed from family to family. It was a very difficult life for me, I really did not know who I could turn to or who I could trust. I made a few friends on the street, but in reality I did not really trust them either.

A community worker found me on the street one day, and they took a special interest in me. They taught me a lot about religion and about life, and I felt like this was a person that cared about who I was. The same community worker helped me to get into a program that would get me my GED, and I was also able to take a few classes in some art schools. I found some awesome art instructors, and they truly believed in my work. I was able to make a lot of progress in art, and I decided that I wanted to make art a part of my career. I got very interested in graphic design, so I decided that I was going to apply for some grants to get graphic design training. I looked into different graphic design schools California had to offer but I did not like any of them.

I also looked into some graphic design schools New York had to offer, but they did not seem like something that I was interested in either. It really did not matter to me where we had to live, because I was homeless either way. I continued to do my own research to see what was going to be the best choice for me and my sister. I looked at different graphic design schools Los Angeles had to offer, because I had a few old friends that lived there. I decided that I was not going to move to Los Angeles after all, so I continued my search to look at different design programs that would be in an area that I would want to move to.

I Las Vegas graphic design programs, and I was able to find the perfect program to meet my needs. They were going to pay for all of my schooling, and they also offered me housing for myself and my sister. I was only 19 years old, but I finally felt like I had a future in something. I have already enrolled in my classes, and I am so excited to get my education at this amazing graphic design school.

It was a very smart move on my part to go to Category:Graphic design – Wikipedia – the free encyclopedia, because it helped me find all the information that I needed and the resources to help me get my education. Even though I had a very tough childhood, it is great to know that there are people out there that can help you find great opportunities. I am finally going to be able to make enough money to support myself and my little sister, and at the same time I am doing something that I love.
