She started to crawl over him when his cell phone rang. “Ah, you’re in luck,” he said, handing her the pillow. “It’s Bobby.”

Talk about a quick, HOT, paranormal, erotic read! While the book is only 30-some pages, a good amount of story is packed into those pages!

The story is about a married couple who purchase a residential house with aspirations to turn it into a bed and breakfast. Little do they know that the previous family's dead adult son, Jesse, still haunts his old room.

And he wants Jeannie. Good thing she likes to walk around naked most of the time!

All in all, it was definitely a fun read. The writing was very good, and I would definitely read more books by Kiki!

They reunite at the haunted Bed & Breakfast, but can they settle their unfinished business and get the closure they need?

Jesse seems to have more tricks up his sleeve and Serena ends up acting in a way that she ordinarily wouldn't...but it turns out to be the best thing she ever did!

Although I’ve been writing fiction since I was a teenager, I fell into writing erotica because, like many people in this space, I saw the surge of indie erotica after Fifty Shades of Grey was published. I thought I would give it a shot and the result was my first story, Supernatural Seductions.

The fact that my first toe dip into the erotica pool was a paranormal story is no coincidence: I have been both fascinated wholly and frightened witless by the otherworldly since I was dragged to see the original Amityville Horror in the movie theater as a child. Horror movies and novels became my primary go-to entertainment source for many years, and although they made for many sleepless nights, I couldn’t stay away from them.

I also can’t resist a strange story. Or a story with a twist. (I have The Twilight Zone and Alfred Hitchcock Presents to thank for that.) I know that some of my stories can be downright weird…and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Much like life, the path I take from Point A to Point B is not always a straight line and orgasms are often part of the journey my characters take, not always merely the destination.

I see myself as a literary flesh peddler—that is, like a talent scout, I get the characters together and let them perform. They present themselves to me, tell me who they are and what they want to do, and I give them the stage to do it on. Naked, of course. Some characters are bold and brazen and tell me exactly how they want to navigate the story, while others are more quiet and reserved, causing me to give them stricter direction in their scenes. In the end, I hope this all results in a fun and sexy story that turns you on as it takes turns you may not have expected—but leaves you satisfied on multiple levels nonetheless.

When I’m not writing my quirky erotica, I’m being quirky over on Medium, where I write erotic poetry, sex and relationship tips, flash fiction, and summaries of sex research. This is a great complement to my erotic stories because it allows me to explore sex and relationships in a different way—and hopefully help readers laugh, learn, think, get horny, and find information they can use in their own relationships and sex lives.

First the woods and now the whole school? May stepped back, hands up in feigned surrender. “Okay-okay, I get it. Prank the new kid. You know, I’m sorry I even thought about checking in on you. I don’t have time for this.” She about-faced and strode down the sidewalk without him.

“Wait, what? I’m not pranking you.” He caught up in only a few strides, his long legs veering her off to the side. “Please, hear me out.”

May’s mind flipped through any example of a high school boy wanting her to hear him out. This had to be a trick. “No, you listen to me. I’ve been the new girl far too many times than I care to count. And I get it. I’m easy prey…perhaps even a challenge.” She thumped him in his too-close-to-her chest. “But I’m not playing.”

“I think June’s a ghost. I’m not kidding or pranking you. And I need you to listen.”

Flashes of her strange interactions with her new friend…if she could even call her that…flickered through May’s mind. They’d only known each other for a couple of days, but she had sensed something off.

She turned away from him, trying to put everything together. Bouts of June’s chilliness, yes. But earlier, it had been strange how fast she’d flown down the spectator stands. Before that, she struggled to push open the main school doors.

May had attributed June’s glossy hollow eyes to the lighting, but maybe it was because of something else. She closed her own eyes for clarity, kicking her foot into the grass. Maybe allergies?

She tucked her hair behind her ear, running the strands between her fingers as more details registered. June’s peculiar way of speaking was odd, and her clothes that first day, like a blast from the past. She was still wearing her penny loafers…with pennies inside.

May dropped her backpack, shook her head at Reid, who was waiting for her to process. But her brain wasn’t cooperating. “Ghosts?” The word spat off her tongue like she’d swallowed a flick of her cat’s tail.

“I know I sound insane. I’m not. I promise.” He glimpsed her with creamy brown eyes. They were the color of Great-Grandma’s sweet tea, and she was overheating inside and out, ready for a tall glass.

“Is this why you’ve been crying at the pond during lunch?”

“What?” His face scrunched, cheeks burning past the eighty-degree temperature outside to a brighter shade of full-blown embarrassment. “No. I mean—I’m not crying at the pond. What are you talking about?”

“What are you talking about?”

They stood at an impasse, shock etching along both their eyebrows and drawn lips. Her mind raced for something to say, and if she had to guess, he was in the same boat.

Anyway, it’s good for her to have a pretty girl to fuss over. It takes her mind off…well…it’s good for her. This is better than one of those charity events. People expect me to talk at those things. And write checks. The seats at the opera house are extremely comfortable and if I get bored, I can take a nap.”

Dan let the subject slide. He’d done more in-depth digging online since they’d be spending the entire evening with the Wilsons. He knew what a day spent dress shopping and primping with a young woman would mean to Mrs. Wilson.

A flash of icy silver-blue caught his eye. Just like in Madrid, his mouth went dry, and he forgot to breathe for a moment. Also, just like in Madrid, he vowed to never again criticize his sister’s taste in movies. All that romantic hokum must have some basis in fact.

Lacey and Mrs. Wilson stepped off the elevator. The older lady wore a softly draped navy-blue gown with a glittering broach on one shoulder—a high-end fake, he guessed, since no one in their right mind would travel with a genuine piece of that scale.

But Lacey…unlike her usual bright-colored outfits, tonight she wore a frosty blue gown that shimmered when she moved. Her hair was swept up in an elegant knot, with a few loose curls framing her face. The entire ensemble somehow managed to be both demure and sexy at the same time.

Well, it was Lacey. Dan considered her sexy in sweaty workout clothes. He questioned the eyesight of anyone who did not.

Mr. Wilson folded his ever-present newspaper and swatted him with it. “Breathe, young man.”

Hamish wraps around me from behind, lifting me before my feet realize it. He is warm and tall and smells like soap and sleep, and his forearms around my ribcage are so solid, so sure of where they belong, that my body gives up its panic and leans back into him before my brain can file an objection.

"I canna believe it," he says into my ear, voice hushed. "We're havin' a wee bairn."

Years ago, back when I hated him, I called Hamish "sex on a stick."

Now I'm holding the sex stick, all right. I just never thought it would be white plastic and determine my fate.

Hamish lets go, walks away, and comes back into the bathroom carrying a chilled bottle of Champagne. It's the bottle we brought back from our honeymoon in Love You, Maine, from the heart-shaped-everything suite. He holds it up, eyes shining.

"Breakfast o' champions?"

"No, love." I put my hand on his. "I can't drink that now."

A microsecond of confusion crosses his face, then he executes a pivot that would impress his old coach.

"Aye. Well then, coffee it is." His auburn brows drop. "Unless ye canna have coffee?"

"I will always have coffee."

There are actually quite a few “fun facts” about As Long As You’re Mine! The first one is that the book was written originally in 2012, the second book I’d ever written. At that time I was trying to get an agent and sent out probably 40 queries and although there were some nibbles, they all came back a resounding “no thanks.” So I tucked it away and continued writing other books, but I never forgot it.

Then in 2023 I did a major revision of the book—focused on making the heroine more likeable—and sent it to my agent to send out to publishers. Again a lot of initial interest, but no bites. I put it away again. But this year, because of my broken shoulder, I hadn’t been able to write a thing, and I wanted to have at least one book published this year. So I sent ALAYM off to my editor and got a lot of feedback about what was actually wrong with the book. It took a solid week at a writers’ retreat but I finally got the book into a shape that should give readers a very satisfactory romantic experience. And As Long As You’re Mine is published at last!

Some other fun facts:

The hero’s house in Richmond, VA is based on the house of a friend of my husband’s. I was always fascinated by the house, which is as I describe it in the book, “as if the architect had built one house then set its mirror image right next to it.”

The house the hero is trying to get blueprints for, Ashcroft Hall, is an actual house that was originally in England until an American millionaire bought it, had it taken down piece by piece, and transported to Richmond, VA. It’s now a museum.

The heroine’s first name changed from Samantha to Amantha after I discovered that the name Samantha was only used beginning in the 1950s.

The name of the novel, As Long As You’re Mine, is taken from my favorite song in the musical Wicked.

I’m not yet sure if As Long As You’re Mine will be a series or not, although I’ve toyed with the idea quite a lot. If I do decide to go forward with a series, I’ve decided the name of it will be Surrender to Passion!

“Oh, Raif!” She could scarcely breathe now. “That…feels…so good.”

“I thought it might. You’re awful sweet.” His low, sleepy voice sounded odd under the covers. On the verge of asking if he was well, she lost the thought when he lifted his head from her breast and crushed his lips to hers.

All else forgotten, she wouldn’t have cared if the house burned down around them. His lips were hot, insistent. Then he plied the seam with his tongue, softly urged it to part for him. She had no desire to resist and soon he had buried his tongue deep in her mouth. A tentative stroke of her own brought a growl of encouragement, and she abandoned herself to explore his willing mouth. She did things she’d never dreamed she’d do, with Raif or anyone else. And she only wanted more. “Oh, Raif. I never thought it could be like this.”

He chuckled. “How soon you forget, Jenny.”

“Jenny?” Amantha froze, her blood turning to ice in her veins. “Who’s Jenny?” Sudden anger lit a fire in her, and she pushed him away. “How many women were you expecting in your bed tonight, Raif?”

“What?” The sleepiness had flown from his voice. “You’re not Jenny?”

“You expected me to be?” This was a nightmare. They weren’t even married and Raif was being unfaithful to her.

“I didn’t expect anyone in my bed.” He threw off the covers and fumbled at the bedside table.

“What do you mean you didn’t expect me? We had planned this, Raif.” What the devil was the man playing at?

“We?” A match flared as he lit the lamp, the sudden light after the darkness almost blinding her. She put her hand up to shield her eyes.

“What do you mean, we?” He sat up in the bed, rubbing his eyes. “Who are you, sweetheart?”

The voice, now unmuffled, certainly did not have the superior tone of Raiford Tolbert. Slowly Amantha lowered her hand to find a man with dark hair she’d never seen before peering at her.

“Woooow…” Tachina shook her head. How was she the problem?

“She sure threw you under the bus. Bless her heart. What’s wrong, babe?” Monica turned her kind eyes on Tachina. She had been working at The Iron Kettle for as long as Tachina and Addison had been coming there. She always tried to help and offer motherly advice. She was in her early sixties and didn’t bite her tongue when it came to nonsense.

“Nothing is wrong,” Tachina said quickly.

Two sets of eyebrows lifted at her.

Liars were rarely safe around women who made it their business to be in other’s people’s business. A best friend and a waitress were two of the most dangerous species to try to get away with something. They would figure it out.

“It’s no big deal,” Tachina stressed, but it seemed neither of them believed her.

“Well, I see she doesn’t want to talk in front of me. Let me take your order so she can spill her guts to you, Addy.” Monica turned to Addison who promptly gave her order.

Tachina glanced back down at the menu. Mind made up, she waited her turn.

“And Miss Tachina, what will you be having?”

“I’ll take the Reuben with extra cheese, extra mustard on the side, make sure they give me the biggest slice of pickle they have, and no chips, I’ll have the house fries instead, please.” She placed her menu back down on the table and again found two sets of eyes on her. She shrugged, unapologetic. “I said I was hungry. Oh, and for a drink, I’ll have a Diet Coke.”

“Really? A diet?” Addison muttered.

“Shut your face.” Tachina blew a kiss at her bestie who rolled her eyes at her.

“I don’t judge. I’ll get your order in and I’ll be back with your drink, babe.” Monica offered her a wink as she collected their menus. She spun on her heel and beelined it through the busy establishment.

“Okay. Now spill it.” Addison was not going to let up on her.

Tachina blew out a deep breath.

It was now or never.
