Love is universal, as it crosses physical and cultural boundaries. It was my great privilege to be part of Erick and Rieneke’s love celebration which was surrounded by beauty and simplicity. Here are some highlights of that day.

My apologies to all the couples and my blog visitors. It’s been a long- way too long- since I’ve updated my blog. The thing is, it’s been  a very busy period for me and for us. As its always with new beginnings, and there were for sure some beginnings lately. Being a student at the age of thirty. Working on my first documentary photo project.  Moving to a new place in a new town… AND…getting ready for our baby to come to the world. Well, this beginning we yet to feel

YEP…Special – crazy days. 

Anyways, in the coming weeks I promise to publish all the weddings I still haven’t published back from 2011.  But before I take you back to the warmth of the Autumn-Summery days,  I wish to share with you a few photos from this freezing and breathtaking period of the year.

I have to admit, I’m not keeping up with the pace of posting all the weddings I’ve shot lately, officially five weddings behind. And though in less than 12 hours I will fly to Israel, I wish to share with you the beautiful wedding of Anna and Roland, a fun couple who I had the privilege to photograph back in August. I want to use this opportunity also to wish you all Merry X-mas and a very very happy New-Year !!!

A bit of history about West-Indisch Huis straight out of the Wikipedia “In this building, the Dutch West India Company’s governors in 1625 ordered the construction of a fort on the island of Manhattan, laying the foundations for New York City.” On the 28th of August, 2011 Isabelle and Gareth wrote their history in their as well. I wish for you that the foundations you laid down will make your L-O-V-E- blossom as NYC blossoms today, being one of the most loved cities in the world.

For a change I will not publish photo’s of the wedding day but rather the layout of I+G’s wedding album by Jorgensen. I recommend to view the slideshow in a full screen mode.

Alyone and Sergey got married in the Netherlands. It was not a big wedding. Their families and friends are many many miles away.

I was asked to take bridal photo’s with the two of them short time after their marriage.  They’ve told me: “it’s for the memory and for our future children” !

Here is the result of a few hours of fun in Delft and on the beach in Kijkduin.

Michelle and Shaun got married in Landgoed Rhederoord.  I have to admit that it’s been awhile since I’ve seen such a gorgeous setting for a wedding ceremony. And ohh…I’ve learned, actually was reminded, that when South Africans party, they party hard!

I love Maastricht! It’s without doubt the most romantic city in the Netherlands. And I was super happy to photograph Denise and Raymond’s wedding down in the magical Limburg.

We’ve started with a photo-shoot in the city and later drove to Koetshuis Kasteel Rijckholt where Denise and Raymond have got married.

John and Julia have met in a train, when John traveled to Russia for business. Now they are married. It’s amazing how one moment, how destiny can define the rest of the life.

Their wedding took place in Slot Doddendael, it was a wedding full with emotions spiced with mixed cultures.  For me it was pleasure to witness and document all that.

Big thanks to Jean Spencer from Craig Paulson studio in NYC who was shooting along. Jean and I have split in the beginning. Jean started the day with Mariska at her parents house and I was with David and his dad. Worked like magic!

On all the organization of the wedding orchestrated Astrid from Astrid Blaauw wedding & events.

The ceremony and celebrations took place in the heart of Amsterdam at the NH Doelen Hotel.  But not before having a small wedding ceremony of its own at the primary school where Mariska teaches. And all according to an “”old-dutch” tradition for primary school teachers

Natasja and Roel got married in Het Rijk van de Keizer, a mix of romance and grunge makes this venue really to stand out. Natasja and both moms were wearing colorful dresses which blended perfectly in the scene and the atmosphere of the place . Half of the guests were children, what brought even more fun and energy during the day. Though it was very hard to run after all those kids
