We would like to congratulate Ms. Collins, Ms. Smith and the Green School’s Committee thanks to all of their hard work we are pleased to announce that Rosary College has been awarded a Green Flag. This is something which is very hard for a secondary school to get which just shows how much work our students and teachers put in this years mainly in their own time at lunch or after school. Well done!!!

On another great note we would also like to congratulate Ms. Sinclair and Ms. O’Connor and the fifth years for getting into the final of the Young Social Innovators. The final is on Wednesday May 8th so we wish you all the best of luck and well done for getting so far!

It won’t be long now until we say goodbye to our sixth years. Their graduation will be on Thursday May 23rd and preparations are well underway for this celebration.

Our Summer Exam timetable is in the making at the moment and it will be on the website as soon as we have it to hand.

We wish all of students the best of luck in all of the end of year exams and hope the study plans are underway.

Come and hear some of classics such as a renedition of Mercy by Duffy and Stay by Rihanna.

There will also be some great prizes on offer at a raffle.

Just to let everyone know the annual Drop Everything and Read will be taking place for a week starting Monday 4/02/13. All students and teachers will be taking part for twenty minutes every day during the last class before lunch. We are encouraging everyone Parents included to take part in this at home

We hope everyone had a well rested Christmas break and a great New Year. Classes start back as normal on Monday 7th of January at 8.50am.  This term everyone will be taking part in Drop Everything and Read week. The date will be confirmed later this week. We hope everyone will take part and enjoy it.

We have our 5th year, 2nd year and 1st year Parent Teacher meeting on Thursday the 24th of January at 3pm-6pm we hope to see all the parents there.

Friendship week and Drop Everything and Read will be starting again this year details will be put on the website when dates are confirmed.

We would like to give a warm welcome to our new first years and new students that have come to the school this year we hope you settle in well and enjoy your time at Rosary College.

For our Third year and Sixth year students the best of luck in your state exams this coming June 6th. We know the hard work you put in will pay off for you and especially our 6th years we wish you all the very best in your future careers.

SCHOOL CALENDAR 2012/2013

Our school calendar for September is now posted on our site and you can have access to that all year.

GRADUATION

We will be having our sixth year mass on Thursday 24th of May during the day and their graduation ceremony in the school hall in the evening time. Time of the ceremony will be confirmed later this week.

Our third years will be having their graduation celebration Friday 25th May from 12.50 in the school library. We wish to invite parents and guardians of our third years to come and celebrate this important day with our students. They will recieve their certifcates for being part of JCSP in the school along with references of their good character. We will also have a prayer service to help them focus for their first important state exams.

CONGRATULATIONS.

We would like to congratulate our first years on winning first place in the Young Environmentalist Awards. They put a huge amount of work in as did their teacher Ms. Collins who organised it. They spent countless hours after school creating a beautiful work of art and we are all very proud of them and their achievements.

Congratulations to our hurling team who won the league. They beat Colaiste Ide in the final by a massive 50 points!!! Well done boys, we are all very proud of you.

We will have photos up and running with the above winning teams very soon.

We would like to wish all our students, parents, guardians and staff all the best for the summer holidays and we will see you all back August 27th.

There were games and competitions in the Library, homemade decorations for sale in the lobby, the Christmas raffle run by Martina and Janice.  Ms. Gallagher’s Christmas card stall for Our Lady’s Hospital Crumlin was a great success again. We also raised some much needed funds for the SVP where cake and buns made by the students were sold.

As usual the music department entertained everyone with beautiful music.

This year saw the emergence of some great actors as the newly formed Drama Society run by Mr. O’Doherty and Ms. O’Connor put smiles on everyones faces with their hilarious play.  Rumor has it that they are currently recruiting and practicing for their next performance due to take place at our annual musical evening …..so don’t miss out!!!

Thank you again to all who supported the various charities. We would also like to thank all the teachers and students involved for their hard work in putting together such a great fair.

We hope to see you all there again next year.

All going well we hope to extend the use of the DS to more subjects next year with the use of English games, Science games etc.
